Maybe I could make him disguise himself as a normal guy like that, but will only show his powers when his friends are in a terrible plight. I really like the idea of magic and stuff, and I actually wrote 1035 words for my application. Most detailed application you've ever gotten, yes? Anyhow, he does have major setbacks.
-He doesn't have any armor. One hit from a troika and he'll be sent to the emergency room. Heck, even a Calibur would be able to injure him badly.
-He doesn't have any weapons.
-His powers have major drawbacks. For instance, a bow shooting arrows is much slower than a gun shooting bullets. His teleportation takes part of his health everytime he uses it.
Isn't that already underpowered enough? If I had to follow your suggestion completely, I would have to change his backstory completely, and take out an hour's worth of writing for his abilities. Please, Thinslayer. I'll make it so he seems like the helpless guy in the beginning of the story, but will still join the main group. He'll get into a lot of trouble when fighting(because he won't show his powers yet and he's bad at using weapons other than his own), and his friends will have to protect him. Once his friends need a lot of help, he'll reveal that he has powers by destroying his opponents.
So basically, he'll use this simple loadout:
No armor
Calibur
That's all. He'll still have his magical abilities, though he will only start to show them when he or his friends are in deep danger. So please? Please? Please? Please? I know you have a kind heart. So please? Please? :P

@Aekuryi: I've already performed the kidnapping of Gwen. Khazaim (the big, hulking knight in Boosted Plate) knocked her and Ensar our, then hauled Gwen to the Al'truis for a mandatory chat with Kyrto.
Kyrto is in for a world of hurt. xD
@Gzilla: I would like for Gwen to meet Axis some time soon. Perhaps his is Kyrto's second in command?
