Please try and keep all suggestions for Mission changes here as this is for mainly the arcade.

Feel free to suggest your own changes, if they get some support or I think they are any good I'll add it to the list.

1)Upgrade the Treasure vault levels in some way, here is a thread for that discussion.

2)Increase the token drop of bosses but only in the arcade.

3)Have basil start selling special accessories for shields that alter the look of the shield bash.A thread for the full list can be found here

4)Special crafting machines that can be found in arcade levels that allow you to craft special cosmetic variation of weapons. Example, in Dark cities you could find a "Cursed Alchemy Machine " that allows you to craft your graviton vortex into a "Curse bloom". It would be purely look but would be a nice touch. I might make a thread for more of these but I'm sure you guys get the idea.

5)Have basil get a friend who sells the accessories and proto armor that players can use when making a new character in all the normal styles. This friend could be a Yes man devilte or simply another stranger.

1)yes
2)No. We need to STOP boss grinding, it doesn't matter if it's missions or arcade. How about we buff non-boss level payouts? Or nerf boss crowns?
3)I'd rather have a whole new shield that changes bashes either more damage, longer stun, faster rush, etc like swiftstrike is asi and BTS is sword damage.
4)Nice idea but probably overpriced, and I'd rather have FUNCTIONAL changes.
5)I'd rather that long-time players got one set for FREE to make up for lack of character creation options. I don't really care about most of the noob styles, and they come in hallow and frosty varieties already.

I'll add in a few options I've read before:

1. Boss missions just put you in the appropiate arcade gate at moorcroft/emberligth.
2. Remove tokens from missions (they'd be given at the end as a mission reward so it works only once)
3. Remove entry fees for Arcade
4. Increase HoH recipe prices... by a lot
5. Arcade-only events. Black Kats for example spawned even on missions. what if they only showed up on arcade, like the old punkin?
6. Arcade-specific prestige missions "go to golden pawn gate and kill 40 wolvers" // "do a full t3 run on coral queen gate"

all 1 and 2 would serve to do is make people farm boss runs in the arcade. Which is half of the problem: not that people don't run the arcade, but that people don't run anything if it doesn't lead to a boss.
3 isn't a big issue, if you're running any gate more than once, just clear the previous tier ONCE and that tier gets free entry for the rest of its lifetime.
4. No. Why would you do this? Why make it harder to get gear? I know you're trying to make arcade runs more profitable, but it only affects people obsessed with recipes above all else, and it will only make it more frustrating to make full 5* gear sets. Instead of messing with HoH, they need to make the arcade FUN and UNIQUE and make the LEVELS better and not just the end result, recipes/bosses.
5. big yes here. But try to keep people from farming the same two levels when possible. For example, the black kats only appeared in undead levels, leaving people to ditch the team and revisit the same gate in hopes of only playing one or two specific levels.
6. Half yes, half no. On one hand, it's nice to have some quasi-achievements (with some kind of reward of course) that don't require any specific gate or level. On the other hand, Mass Monster Slaughter Sidequests are the bane of MMOs, we have enough pointless grinding as is, and it would just be boring.

My suggestion is to make rank missions un-replayable (unless you get invited to a party by someone who's up to that mission). This excludes Hall of Heroes.

Why is there a problem with number 4? most of the things you would craft are purely for look and would just be reskins of current weapons. the only exception of these would be items that make seance to be made this way, like an upgrade to the heavy deconstructor.
for number 5 I agree that is a bad example but what more could we really do? I guess the player could take the job of escorting a gremlin from the cross road to the next town maybe and get rewards once they do?

I was replying to juances, not you. He said "4. Increase HoH recipe prices... by a lot". What does that have to do with cosmetics and reskins?

I'd prefer no escort missions either. Even as they are now, it's basically just breaking free a mecha knight reskin, then reaching the elevator. And if you had to defend them like other games, it would not be fun.

My opinion

I agree with removing the entry fees and having the arcade-only events.
Visual upgrades to not only your appearance, but also to the appearance of your attacks is kinda cool, but I do believe this should be among the least of everyone's worries.
The rest, not so much.
And I'll mostly agree with what Batabii said. =b

Well they would be optional is the thing. I get what you are saying, they should probably improve the game's AI for that mission if they add it. Maybe a "find the hidden object owned by so-and-so and return it to him/her at the next cross road or city." mission instead?

I personally don't like the idea of removing the elevator fee for arcade because we don't have that many crown sinks in the game currently, we could use a few more.

If you need more ideas, skim though the last 30 or so pages of the suggestions forums, this issue has been brought up a couple times before.
But from that list, I'd choose none at the moment: Biggest issue is King of Ashes. BURN IT!

Why not make Rank missions

Why not make Rank missions like prestige missions? Once it's complete, you cannot do it again EVER, unless you get invited to it, because that works for prestige.

Example - You have just completed Tier 3 Compound 42, and then your friend asks you to help him with it, but you cannot make a lobby because you have completed the mission already. It seems like OOO already knows that you get too many crowns from danger missions, however if a friend makes a lobby and then invites you, you can then skip past that barrier and do the mission again (But you wouldn't get the prestige points again).

So conclusion - If you have already completed KoA, you cannot do it again UNLESS a friend hasn't done it and s/he invites you.

If you haven't done the mission already people may just farm it for tokens and leave after, but they will be forever Champion. So....

You could make it so once you get the tokens and then leave, it will still automatically complete the mission for you.

But back to your thread (apologies for going off topic):

With improving treasure vault, I agree. I also think that you should have to pay for extra boxes, it's a rip-off. It's supposed to be a relaxing level where you don't have to worry about anything and you can just get your rewards and THEN.... IT...HAPPENED. (almost every box is behind an energy gate).

Or a new plan... make (most) arcade levels completely different to ones in missions. So there's no Power Complex, Mechanized Mile, or wild path. But keep stuff like Concrete Jungle. Either just make new levels or just add different puzzles/areas. Or just change mission levels, either way.

But prestige missions recycle. Sure you can only do A Pinch Of Salt once....a day, but the next time it comes around you can do it again.

Also there has to be a middle ground for restarting missions. On one hand, if someone dies or gets disconnected, they should have another chance. But on the other, you can't let people leave right before the last elevator and start all over again to farm crowns.

Not going to ask again, I don't want mission change suggestions in this thread, I linked a better thread for that in the OP. I get that we need to fix them but we have said it thousands of times, I don't need you guys to say it here one more time.

well you say no mission changes but that is what really messed up the arcade, they need to (like many said) you can only do the mission once and thats it. this will in fact decrease the amount of crowns any body can receive beacuse your now forced to play the arcade through all tier levels to get to bosses. so to combat this i suggest that elevator cost be reduced to half. this will keep the current ce/mist used to cr's gained ratio. now to improve the arcade i also suggest that guilds be able to rent the arcade terminals. they become in charge of the mineral depositing being able to create gates they will enjoy or what people request. everyone will still be able to deposit minerals in the gates and receive crs as usual, but the guild over it will control where they go.

You are experiencing a PICNIC ERROR!

Add Heat Tanks! This would probably only work in the Arcade, but it would be fine in Missions too.

At the end of a level, your heat is tallied up and put in a pool. (NOTE: this doesn't effect or get effected by the current heat mechanics. If you have stuff to heat, you still get the same amount of Heat added to your Heat Tank. Heat Amplifiers do have their effect.) Once your Heat enters your Tank, it stays there for the rest of your run, regardless of if you die, go solo, get kicked, etc. Returning to Haven or joining a new party would empty this tank.

If you have some Heat in your Heat Tank when you step on the Elevator, the crowns and heat which you obtained from that level get multiplied by a number which gets greater with how much Heat you have stored. This also gives a snowball effect, making the Heat from later levels more effective. While how much of an increase, I'm not sure...that would have to be manually balanced, which I cannot do.

What I know this WOULD do, though, is increase the gain from playing multiple levels in a row. While I could easily just play the RJP twice from the missions, Heat Tanks would make it so I would get much more in the Clockworks because I've played more levels. If I play from T1 to T2, I'd get even more. You would get a huge wealth for playing from T1 to T3, most likely. (Though this costs a lot of CE.)

Otheriwse, I vote for 2, 7, and 8.

I remember someone posted an idea about make missions being part of arcade, like in every depth there would be a NPC that would give you a mission and you have to complete the quest. so at the end of the elevator you get the mission done with it rewards. prolly would be nice a mission list where you can see the mission info and rewards. i found good this idea because that mean everyone would explore the clockworks looking for a NPC which would give a new mission to the players, also would go along with the sense of "exploration" that spiral knight mean to have.

But saddly missions werent implemented in that way...

about the thread:

1° and 6° option works, but is not enough

other options:
- Full Tier Dive (or even gate dive), giving the supply pack to the Squads, should give some little rewards to the player, like one random mat box based on "theme stratum" and the depth (superior tiers can give packs of the lower star mats , but only few of the higher ones), but only once every tier and every gate, this will reset every week

- change the "party Shadow Lair" key to "individual Shadow Lair" key, reducing the cost to 400-450 CE (maybe this is not possible)

- create some rare "swarm danger rooms" through tier 2-3 maps, giving bigger rewards than common danger rooms (tons of red boxes), but... you know @.@

- something that will be associated to the sweet-hope said, just below

the way you said looks like "modifier chapters" from "Gears of War Judgment"

each chapter allows you to choose whether you want to increase the difficulty, in exchange for more points, based on what the map offers:
reduction of the regenerative capacity (neither shield or your own health)
limitation on weapons that could be used (like lock, randomly, one of your weapons)
additional traps on the map
time limit to finish the map
reduced visibility
more powerful opponents (instead of danger room, will become danger map)
...

My thoughts

-First, the arcade fee needs to be removed. Maybe even slapped on the missions.
-Like Zeddy said, let knights create parties at the start of each stratum.
-Clockwork tunnels seriously need their payout increased. Honestly, in a stratum 6 tunnel I got 300 and something crowns profit. I went EVERYWHERE. Making danger rooms always appear would somewhat remedy this. Hopefully.
-Add arcade tokens, probably at the end of each stratum. At the end of each stratum, you would get 1 token per stratum, so you would get 4 tokens after finishing stratum 4. Arcade tokens can be traded in for other tokens, 1 arcade for 1 of the normal ones, 2 arcade for 1 boss token/krogmo coin.
-The energy fee for arcade could be lessened.

We can't lock people out of missions once completed or make them daily or restrict the rewards, as there will always be a way to work around it, namely leaving before the last elevator.

Treasure vault definitely needs more reward. +1

I have another idea: Have it so that boss missions simply drop you in the correct gate and at the start of the right Tier. Then you are still technically doing the Arcade. I.e. Vana is in Gold Pawn? You go to Emberlight of Gold Pawn, not to the Terminal depth.
