To Necro or To Start a New Thread...That is the Question.

Well, it seems odd. You create a suggestion thread about something you knew has been suggested before...now everyone tells you to use the search bar for once. But you use the search bar, find the suggestion, but what do you do next? Do you necro it to show your support or just do nothing and the suggestion remains underground? It seems like when you do create a same suggestion thread, people flame you for it, but when you necro...guess what? People flame you for it. So the question is, do you necro or do you start a new thread. Doing nothing just won't help your cause at all. I just want to try and create a commuity acceptable way of something, other than getting flamed for doing both. What do you think is more acceptable and prefer people do?

It pretty much depends.

I can't tell whenever a necro is good or bad.

Do nothing, if the idea was suggested multiple times in the past and it hasn't been added yet, then developers will never do it (or might be working on it already). A new thread or a necro won't do much for it.

PS: buff mad bomber and give me my old sun shards back :v

Personally, I feel that doing nothing won't shed any light on the suggestion whatsoever though since your just letting the idea sit in the dark where no one can see it.

Pets were suggested for a very long time. Many pet suggestions were far away from Battle Sprites but OOO definitly got BS from the pet suggestions. GH can be expanded and decorated is also a result of many suggestions. HP bars, free elevators, and so on.

Yeah...I feel like OOO won't

Yeah...I feel like OOO won't listen to a single suggestion (for obvious reasons), but it will take many to get the point across, because it shows that the majority of the player base wants it. After thinking my original question over, there seems to be a equalization to it. Like don't necro a thread with absolutely no detail, necro one with a valid explanation and details, and don't create a thread with no details like just saying "I want this".

My opinion

Is to have a private message option like on other sites forums. That way we can ask permission to post or something. I don't know.

There's no winning.

People hate it when you Necro and then people tell you to just continue on another thread.

Start a new thread, if a suggestion is common then it will most likely get added, free elevators for example, lot's of people suggested it with different and lot's of threads each and here it is.

Its simple.

You link the old thread, in your new thread's post, then in your own post, add on to it while (this is optional, i forgive you if you arn't going to read a 10+ page thread) referencing, modifying and citing things that you want to say that has already been said.

I was talking to bopp over in my post about people not searching. To be fair, the search for this forum is not robust, and different words can describe the same thing.
However, i feel we should not be so hostile to repost, the game is not very complex, eventually multiple people will arrive at the same suggestion multiple times. There is an intellectual property term for this, i cant remember it off hand ( and i am not going to google for it. Hah! Take that!)

So if you dedicate yourself to be the information archivist of this forum, you can help by kindly informing people of old threads that will help their suggestions or post, not to bring it up to them to say "done to death."

this game is evolving slowly but surely, problems viewed from different time periods present different solutions. Always revisit ideas as eventually, the ripple created by the original idea will generate waves which will generate even more waves until a solid tsunami of a viable idea is created.

For obvious reasons

He must prove his point to necro instead of rethread by necroing instead of rethreading.

How about necroing your own new thread?

Edit: auto correct thought I meant necrosis. What is necrosis anyway?
