I really like your art, it's nice. I've never been able to do pixel art, but my only understanding of the method is MS paint all by hand, shading and all. That's probably why I've never tried though.
Whimsy's Wretched Workshop for Pixels and Other Trash
Ahh, yes. I started out using MS Paint to draw my pixels, and I believe Vista had the best form of MS Paint. Windows 7 MS Paint is really really hard to work with for pixels, so I've moved on to using YY-CHR instead for drawing. YY-CHR was a tool used for ROM-Hacking, like Super Mario World and whatnot, but I found it to be generally useful for creating sprites! I use MS Paint for touch-ups, and a seperate program to turn it into a transparent gif!. YY-CHR allows me to stick strictly to a 16bit, 8bit, or even 32bit palette, and is quite handy for pixel art!
Amazing! <3 You're really great at pixelating and I love the random character sheet!
I don't want you making random pixel art of me, so I made pixel art of myself
Betelgeuse, Betelgeuse, Betelgeuse!
My first commission, I quite like how this one came out! Betel requested his Knight standing with his arms crossed.
ShinyMew saunters onto the stage showing off their precious Mewkat pocket monster!
In addition, have a mini animated Mewkat!
Oh my gosh how do I draw gauntlets or wings I always never get them right aaaaaa
I'm afraid I have nothing new to show off of the Spiraly nature, but I have dug up this sprite sheet I whipped up a few years back in the style of Super Mario World!
Starbound and A Link Between Worlds has been eating up a fair chunk of my time, but I am still accepting commissions if anyone is interested.
Here are Caret and Bubble Blowing Bug Buddy. A pair of scrappy little robots, that they are. They're pretty good friends! B4 likes blowing bubbles, and collecting garbage. And Caret is crafty, able to re-purpose garbage for tools, ammunition, and fuel! Caret is also quite nimble and strong. But they were deactivated for a long time, so who knows what's in store for them?
Lastly, I'd like for you to meet Rin the Yordle. A bit of fanart for one of my favorite League of Legends askblogs and artists.
I'd like to buy a large one, any posibility of it being animated?
Depending on the complexity of the animation, it may take longer, but I am willing to take commissions!
For reasons I wish not to disclose, please contact me on my alternate Knight for further discussion.
IGN: Whimpers
Mr. Bump time! My apologies for lack of updates.
Let's kick things off with a portrait of my robot character, Caret. It kind of looks like something you'd see on a game's Title Screen.
Then, let's move on to this darling little sprite of my Knight, Whimsy. And right next to them is a rather peculiar looking human who happens to be from some bizarre Alternate Universe in which Knights are humans!
Now don't blink, or you might miss it. It's Captain Teemo, on duty once more!
But enough of the freaks. Here's a real cutie. It's Isabelle, from Animal Crossing. She's just as eager to help as ever!
Lastly, here's a little buttface I like to call Korey the Shinx. He's a little sassy brat, so watch out!
I bet you any amount of money I would be the worst game designer ever.
Eheh... There are much worse game designers out there.
That's pretty good!
Out of curiousity, how long have you been doing sprites/pixel art?
Late replies because that's how I roll. I've been doing the pixlie bloops since... 2007-ish! Quite a long while. I still stink butts at it, but hey, progress is always fun.
Do you like Metroid? Do you like Super Metroid? Do you like ripoffs of Metroid? Well, here you go!
AND WELL YOU CAN TELL BY THE WAY I USE MY WALK I’M A WOMAN’S MAN NO TIME TO TALK
Also I'm sorry for like not paying attention to this thread at all but mostly I post my stuff on my tumblr!
yo I am sure you've noticed by me liking all those posts but I'm a big fan of your pixel stuff
I'd super play a game with that kind of art. ;w;
Oh gosh thank you! Sometimes I wish I knew how to actually make a game, because I totally would if I had enough know-how.
Keeping this thread a little more active for no particular reason, here's another mock-screenshot featuring Caret blasting some Cool Carrot Dudes and a Totally-Not-A-Goomba!
And as an added bonus... Ooh, banana!
So, there's been some kind of limited-color-scheme thing floating around tumblr, and I decided to try my hand at it with this mischievous little Shy Guy, not to be confused with the more common Nice Guy.
And on the topic of palettes, I've been trying to figure out how my Overly-Ambitious-Nonexistant-Indie-Retro game would look, if it wasn't just a Game-Boy style title, but rather a Game Boy Color title! Your mileage may vary.
Even though it's not pixel art, I saw that it was only fitting to throw together a Spiral Spy scene devoted to Shroud of the Apocrea!
Seeing how my computer is pretty much broken, i pretty much lost all the pixel art i was working on, yayyyyy.
With a new computer in tow, I suppose I should just drop something by. Spiral Knights; Only for Game Boy!
I'm curious. Does anyone else make reference sheets of their Knights? No? Just me?
I would, but I can't use Spiral Spy for the life of me. ._.
If interested, please contact me in-game via mail. We can discuss the details from there. Alternatively, you may contact via Steam at "simulatorofhats", or on tumblr. Please note, what I do isn't only limited to Spiral Knights!
