<insert witty comment here>

Just run the Rotting Metropolis on Elite for only the first level repeatedly. Collect the dozen or so crystals, and restart the mission.

____

Sure if you want to grindfest. General T3ing is more fun though

My point

The complain was shining being rare, but it wasnt.
If its was easier/better to do on a set mission, thats a different talk.
Well, people grind Vana ad infinitum, so theres nothing wrong.

All I want is reasonable incentive to play more than some specific levels. Granted, that's not just about fire crystals, but..

Because of the shortage

It got better to speed run till depth 28 on CW to get radiants than doing Vana for the same reason

Hehe...

As always, OOO is kidding (used that instead of "f-----g with") us. Negative feedback=no answer from OOO, everyone should remember it.
http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/77805 <- So many complaints with many players suggesting how things can be CHANGED, the easiest solution was adding an option so players could switch between UIs but OOO did nothing. I won't forget this "Yes, we are reading your feedback...".

There are two points to this-

0. We don't "deserve" to be told anything. If you're reading a book, do you call up the author and demand they tell you plot details? No, you read The Silmarillion. It might benefit us if they told us, sure... or-

1. It might not benefit to tell us why they are gone. Lets say I'm Nick and I come on and say something like-

"Explanation of Radiant Shortage:

We have several new levels planned ahead of the current content, and in that content there will be millions of radiant fire crystals. We are currently balancing out the current gear, so- /good of game"

And then I come on and quote him. Alternatively, his speel could be

"Explanation of Radiant Shortage:

We came to see that players were attaining their goal without forking over their wallet to us, and decided that this was upsetting to us. So we locked away... /greedy business strategy"

In which case yes, go ahead and hate the radiant drought... whatever it is.

I simply invite some

I simply invite some friends/guildmates if I happen to get to depth 28, so they could benefit too. If more people did that, it would be better.

Your Voltedge isn't safe.

It would not be better really, I know some people who just turned 5 star and they are having a huge problem.

The way I've seen it for a while:
1. (unlikely) It could be a glitch, though extremely serious glitches are... usually... fixed by OOO.
2. (likely) It is most likely, I think, foreshadowing that boss that will be added. Many of you will be wondering "what is that?" Well, it was one of those things they mention however many months ago that is yet to appear. They said it will be "post-vanguard," which would seem to tip off potential later depths, which could be the new home of our radiants.
3. It could be their way of being a *rainbows & puppies* to us and decided to almost force us to spend exorbitant amounts of ce/cr to obtain radiants. This would, of course, be another icky way to milk us.
-----
While this has very little bearing on me, as I already have pretty much all the 5* gear I want and had a very healthy supply of radiants before the drought/famine, I do believe it incredibly rude and detrimental to the playerbase. So, this newer guy that never enjoyed the old heating system gets up to 5* and then... turns out your gear was better at lv.10 4*! OOO: "Gotcha! HARHARHARHARHAR....."

Even if it is because an impending new boss at deeper depths, it would at least be nice to know, and to have maybe picked up the pace. You don't leave an already moderately irritated playerbase hanging for over a month; that's pretty obvious to me.

EDIT: This is a dead horse that ought to be trampled for the sake of those who are just reaching 5*.

Being a Defender Elite...

As a player working towards getting my 5* status it is quite disappointing to create 5* equipment, only to leave it at level 1. Before the Forge update, I had both a CIV and Radiant Silvermail, both of which, sadly, have sat in the Forge, never touched, and never heated a single level more than the level they were at the time of the update (level 7).

Quoting Mushy-Bucket:
"So, this newer guy that never enjoyed the old heating system gets up to 5* and then... turns out your gear was better at lv.10 4*! OOO: "Gotcha! HARHARHARHARHAR.....""

This is the case with my character. All of my good, solid 4* weapons have sat at level 10, because I want the CTR high on them, instead of a tiny bit more damage as a 5* weapon. Honestly, I can't afford to save up the massive amount of crowns needed to purchase 700 energy, because I don't have the time (being a student) to play for so long in order to get the crowns. Sure, you might say to wait for the update with the new boss and the like, or to go to d28, Shadow Lairs and Elite Vana but my gear simply does not have the capability yet to do those things, over and over. The drought has left all of my new 5* gear sitting at level 1, or 2 if I was lucky and early enough.

I certainly did not notice a problem with the shining drops in the beginning, but I remember hearing a rare complaint about them. If this Radiant drought is an act of revenge against us, the players, then OOO is attacking the wrong population, because a majority of the players never complained, never whined, and never caused problems.

It would be nice to know WHY OOO did this, or at least if they would try to address the issue, and if they acknowledge there's a problem here.
