Apparently he got forum-banned, because he made a thread about OOO banning people on April Fool's Day or something, and he wants everyone to know he was kidding, or something? Hell, this is what he mailed me in-game.
So Ardent-Light wanted me to do this thing...
Okay, here's something I REALLY would like to know, it's bugging me for a while now:
Why do people always go to the forums when they want to be unbanned? Are they somehow under the illusion that their fellow forumers have the admin permissions to unban them? Do they think that by posting on their thread enough, that some arbitrary comment threshold will be passed and suddenly their account will unlock again?
Someone please tell me, I really want to know why people decide it's easier to get someone else to clumsily post a thread for them when they instead could simply just press F1 ingame at any time and follow the Support Link, contacting Three Rings themselves, getting both a quick response and a notification ingame (in their chat and in their mailbox) of when their request has been responded to.
Hey, that's what I told Ardent. But a request is a request, foolish or not.
I just find it rather... Well, uncalled for to post about a forum ban through another person. If you wanted to tell specific people, that's fine, but don't go posting on all the forums.
The only time it would be reasonable to do that is if someone made a forum post asking where Player X is, and honestly, we as a mob have never really noticed when a member of our herd goes missing.
And really, if anyone wanted me to post something on the forums on their behalf, it's not really something I would do(Unless it is directly connected to me, and would be helpful for others to know). Not to be rude, but just because it's rather pointless and doesn't improve anything really.
In the mail, it says he's perma-banned... but how could he be banned if he is mailing you...?
Ah... Ardent is finally gone *takes out a checklist*
1. Rudbyclipse - gone
2. Darkcub - almost
3. Thinslayer -
4. Ardent-light - gone
5. Arcknightdelta -
6. Fangel -
5. Khamsin- gone
7. Batabii - gone
8. Bitsee -
Hmm, almost half way through!
I think Bitsee is gone as well. I don't see them around the forums anywhere.
Bitsbee is still with us, just look closely. I saw his posts in treasure vault not too long ago.
Since when did I get on that li-

If I ever quit this game Poomph, I need you to create my 'I'm leaving' thread. Or if I get thrown in jail I'll smuggle you in to be my cellmate.
That's how touched I am by your devotion to your friends..
7. Batabii - gone
should be:
I think Bitsee is gone as well. I don't see them around the forums anywhere.
Um, where have you been? He was the first poster in a pinned GD thread just two days ago
Oh well, their existance hardly meant anything to me anyway, might as well cross them out, but still, let's make ourselves feel better!
1. Sirius-voltbreaker GONE
2. xXtweeterXx - rarely post, almost gone
3. Anniliton GONE
4. Rudbyclipse GONE
5. Darkcub - almost gone due to boredom
6. Thinslayer -
7. Ardent-light GONE
8. Arcknightdelta -
9. Fangel -
10. Khamsin- gone
11. Batabii - rarely post, almost gone
12. Bitsee - rarely post, almost gone
He is only back for the census, hasn't posted anything yet, it will probably some dumb posts, be on the look out for that.
I'm pretty sure even whispering about a ban is against the rules, let alone making a thread on it. Seems to me Ardent-Light wants Poomph riding along in the same boat as him. Regardless if he wants to contest it, mail OOO. I'm sure an apology would be enough to lift the ban.
Just jumping back in to clarify that I'm well aware that Bitsbee is here.
Bitsee, however, was not as to why I said what I said after M-Dj. Just a harmless joke is all.
Now If you'll excuse me I'm gonna go back to stalking Poomph.
It is a request. It is your decision to act on it.
Mi DJ, Canozo, ld player left.
Am I not one speck of unimportence?
/cries
how else would a banned player notify others of their rotten mistakes?
"Now If you'll excuse me I'm gonna go back to stalking Poomph."
Yet I haven't received a single PM from you in-game, you wanna see stalking? I should tell you how I friend forummers in-game.
From what I've observed, people don't get banned for one post.
A-L was a multiple offender who had been abusing the forums for awhile by spamming useless threads and insulting and harassing people.
From all us who sent complaints, thank you to the moderators for removing him permanently.
Saying that is no better than the wrongs which Ardent-Light has apparently done (I can't/don't remember him that much).
Regardless if he deserves it or not, it's not cool to say something like that. The guy is banned, there is no need to advertise it to everyone on the forum and certainly not right to be happy about it. Keep things like that to yourself please.
The Original Post said
Apparently he got forum-banned, because he made a thread about OOO banning people on April Fool's Day or something, and he wants everyone to know he was kidding, or something?
So I responded in an attempt to enlighten people lest they be under the misconception that they can mess up once and get perma-banned, or that A-L didn't have it coming.
The moderators actually don't like trolling (believe me, they've told me directly and clearly), especially in regards to themselves, and the "I was just kidding" excuse doesn't fly with them either.
And while you are reading, could you also stop spamming the forums with your own space-wasting threads? I can see why Dj wud put you on his hit-list.
Finally, your hyper-sensitivity and attempts to "parent" the forums are getting obnoxious.
I thought you had come here as a reformer, but you are really trashing the forums as much as anyone. <(~_^)>
Wow I wasn't expecting a full blown attack on me there. You know what I'm not even going to bother with you. Discussing forum bans is against TOS. So please don't take offence by me stating that.
If it makes you happy to see a person get banned ok be happy. Although what you might say is true about Ardent-Light, some things are best left unsaid. Seems to me you're being over sensitive here yourself. I didn't expect you of all people to say something like that.
Edit: in response to your edits
I was actually hoping to be number 1 on his hit list. Guess I'm good but not that good. But then again looking through the names on his list I would say he is messing around. Fangel? Lol what for?
Regardless of everything you blurted out at me, I don't mind. I don't hold grudges.
I like being able to vanish without people being happy I'm gone.
Also, Bitsbee isn't annoying at all, to me. At worst, he's just "meh", but his posts are usually amusing.
I don't remember Fangel, Thinslayer, or Khamsin doing anything silly, either.
“Also, Bitsbee isn't annoying at all, to me. At worst, he's just "meh", but his posts are usually amusing.”
Someone thought I was annoying?...
💔
Do everyone a favour mate. Get rid of this pointless thread. If you don't me and you are going to have some serious talks in game.
I don't know about any one else, but I personally feel that this thread should be deleted or buried in the Graveyard. It's nothing but trouble.
/grabs a shovel and starts digging a hole
"Get rid of this (...) thread [or we're] going to have some serious talks in game"
Uh oh, you'd better watch out.
/puts a big flatish stone near one of the edges of the hole
*pushes Pipipipipi into the hole, kicks slab over hole*
No more bad advice from you.
Be noted, the list is made for the LOLz, don't take it too seriously. And your place on the list is irelevent to how annoying you are, the reason why fangel is there is because she is kinda like the Mary sue of the forum, have you ever heard anything negative from her? I think not.
Thinslayer's life pilosophy sickens me that is why he is there, in a RP thread, he openly claims that as long as a man sheds the blood of another man, that man should bie at the hands of another man as well, by that logic, every men who ever participated in a firing squad have to all be executed as well, and their executioner must die too since 'they shedth the blood of men'. And the cycle of blood shed will never end.
I am suprised thinslayer, a man who i though was intelligent, could believe that travel back in time to kill Hitler and Stalin can stop WWII and save lives, if any of you ever played Red Alert 3, you will know exactly what happend when Russian killed Eistein using a time machine, when they return to the present, Japan becomes a super power and invaded Russia and with American blended into the mix.
I didn't take your list seriously. Mawashimono thought it would offend me.
Oh please tell everyone why I am on that list. Even though I know exactly why, as we have had countless battles since I made "that" thread I would love to hear it again regardless. Please make it interesting.
P.S make me number 1.
But I was already in the hole...
/grabs slab and chucks it at Arc's head, who winds up in the hospital
@Draycos Thanks for the decorations for my well
/digs deeper
*Hospital confirms Arcknightdelta has suffered severe brain damage, Arcknightdelta will never be the same again*
/expects Arc to come out as some hokey dokey hippee clown
Wait, before you dig any deeper, can I join your guild?
Yeah, I know that this is the wrong sub-forum to ask about that...
But wudevr.
/e puts 1 radiant next to the hole
Discussing forum bans is against TOS. So please don't take offence by me stating that.
You clearly haven't read the Terms of Service.
That's debatable how ever way you see it. In the TOS it clearly states
Respect your fellow Knights!
Therefore......
Advertising the ban of a Spiral Knights forum user and then getting comments where someone is (in a nutshell) stating it is a relief to see said Spiral Knights forum user get permanent banned and openly stating he has been doing so and so bad things, is not Respecting your fellow Knights! So technically it is against TOS. It doesn't matter if said Spiral Knights forum user asked Poomph to do this. I've been asked many times by friends who got banned to make a thread for what ever reason. I say the same thing to them. Speak to OOO directly.
That's besides the point. This thread shouldn't have even existed like you said earlier, let alone have someone thanking the moderators for banning him. Like I said some things are best left unsaid.
Well actually, here's the statement on using the forums to protest bans:
Forum Rules and Help
DO NOT:
- Use the forum to protest a support action, such as a ban. Use the Support Email form to report disputes regarding staff actions so that your issue can be escalated quickly and appropriately.
It's discouraged but as I understand it, it's not really breaking the rules (although you'd probably have your thread locked and graveyarded and be punished if you publish several threads, although that'd classify as spam). This thread isn't really a protest, though. It's not a discussion, either. It's a PSA. So move to Announcements, please.
DO NOT means DO NOT.
If someone does something that is in the DO NOT list, it is breaking rules, minor or not. Rules are there to discourage people from doing things they are not allowed to do. Yes it still happens, we can go into bumping threads, trolling, spamming all day. We have all broken a rule on this forum sometime or another here, yes even me. Bottom line is you do something against a rule, you are breaking it. Not hard to understand. It's then up to the people who set the rules to judge how far you have gone in breaking such rule.
But I'm not going to go into all that again. Especially as I agree with you, on that this thread isn't a protest nor is it a discussion. So in this instance and more relevant to the topic. Poomph hasn't broken any rules. But what is happening is it is drawing in unnecessary attention and comments like Mawashimono which isn't really fair nor upholding the Respect your fellow Knights! rule. Although I agree with Midnight-Dj and his strong opinions on freedom of speech, there are just some things that are best kept unsaid, however true or not it may be.
I've already sent an email to OOO. Hopefully this thread goes away. This isn't me being "hyper-sensitive" or "parenting" this forum. This is me believing in the right thing to do.
That's debatable how ever way you see it. In the TOS it clearly states:
Respect your fellow Knights!
Actually, that's in the Code of Conduct.
A Terms of Service is a legal document and ambiguous statements like "Respect your fellow Knights!" are not likely to be found on one. Of course, it does go into detail about harassment into section 6.3, but I just thought I'd be the pedantic Aspergers and let you know that there is a difference between the Terms of Service and the Code of Conduct that sits sneakily on the same page.
