How to solo Devilite armies?

Hey there, I've always had trouble with soloing large groups of devilites, especially once they have been promoted. I am a swordmaster. I can handle any other monster group in the game, but this monster family has proven really tricky for me to figure out. Does anyone have any tactical advice, besides the obvious use piercing weapon/shadow defense? Thank you!

It would be greatly appreciated to boost the fire strength caused by the flamberge, because everyone knows this is an underpowered sword compared to the FF or BTB. Either this or a chance boost or overall damage increase.

The troika swords are in deep need of a damage increase. My ascended calibur is stronger than the jalovec, when clearly the main advantage of the heavy swords is to cause massive damage, because of their slow attack speed.

The Avenger does 1 more point of damage compared to my ascended calibur when used on a lumber in the RJP. Rip-off. Increase damage output please.

If you are not educated in the wonderful world of music, you may have a hard time understanding this post. Beware.
EDIT: But you DO NOT need to have knowledge of music to post your thoughts!!

Being a musician, I find that I listen to not only the music as a whole, but as separate "instruments," and I isolate each part in my head before I can get the true sound of the music. It also allows me to appreciate classical and jazz, but that's not the point. You wonderful knights are here to share your thoughts on the music of the great Harry Mack for Spiral Knights. I'll start.
