A rant on Irontech Destroyer, and why it deserves a buff.

Today I'll be talking about Irontech Destroyer, one of my favourite bombs in the game that defines mediocrity and missed potential. I'll go over why I always thought the weapon was lacking, and the main ways I'd want the weapon buffed.

Crafting reskin weapons, so they're based on a different weapon

It would be nice to be able to put a reskin into Mysterious Alchemy Machine, add some crowns or other stuff and transmute it into a weapon that looks the same, but has animations and damage of another, for example Scissor Blades with Acheron characteristics or Alpha Claw Gauntlet with Fang of Vog characteristics.

Snowy Hats

I noticed that the snowy hats from christmas using the different wishes were still temporary unlike the halloween masks. My suggestion would be to make the snowy hat versions from that event to be permanent. That is all.

Major and QoL suggestions to benefit the game for both players and GH

Hey guys, here's a list of suggestions from me that I think would greatly benefit the game, most of which I imagine are easy to implement.

These are made with the focus of increasing item accessibility with respect to the market economy, improving the general health of the game, and include simple but effective QoL changes.

I think it's important to add the details and reasoning for effective suggestions, so it'll be explained as well.

Party finder visibility

When the party finder is active, it should look for and show lobbies for missions with high replayability like The Sovereign Slime and Built to Destroy! even if the knight is at a higher rank.
It would also be nice if the Party Finder could be active while in a mission lobby, so that you won't miss someone who just tries to join an open lobby, or miss one that only starts their own lobby.

Shadow Lair stuff

Shadow lairs are really hard endgame content that drop unique gear and have unique layouts and souped up bosses. And you can't really practice them because they cost 1800 energy. That's a lot. I think that is too much.

I think shadow keys should cost 600, and the materials should need three of to craft the equipment with. I have no problems with those pieces of gear costing a lot, I just have problems with the lairs themselves being so expensive to run. If the increase in time requirement is too much, give an option to spend three keys at a time to get three drops at the end.

Add a warp command for Hall of Heroes. (feel free to post other warp suggestions)

I'm not sure if we have one already (as far as I'm concerned, we don't) but adding a warp command to Hall of Heroes would be nice.
A simple /hallofheroes or even just /hoh would do.

Some proposed weapon changes and additions

  • All "normal damage with damage bonus vs. enemy type" weapons should no longer be normal only - the cold iron carver becomes elemental, the wild hunting blade becomes piercing, heavy deconstructor becomes elemental, etc
  • A non-piercing flourish would be very nice; i could see the flamberge being elemental, or a new shadow one being added.

New Sprites!

So we've had sprites for a while now, and still up to this day we're missing ones that would eat Moonstone and Valestone, which makes those two minerals essentially useless. I've felt like coming up with some concepts for ones that I think would be pretty unique and useful.

SK Balancing Part 1: Weapon Buffs

GM Cleaver mentioned they were open to suggestions. These are my suggestions.

I should start by introducing myself. I'm Spark, and I've been invested in this game for the better part of 14 years by now. (almost all of SK's lifetime. Granted, I hardly started to grasp the mechanics of this game until a couple years after starting but still, I've been around for a while) Spiral Knights is without a doubt my favorite video game of all time. And likewise my most played game by a hilarious and sometimes concerning margin.
