Have a suggestion for Spiral Knights? We would like to hear it.

If an attack hits my shield, it should be blocked, at least partially

I have a shield. When I'm not holding it in front of me it's either in my left hand or my back. You'd think it would protect you even a little bit in those positions, but it doesn't.

Now, when I'm not holding it in front of me I'm not bracing, so I can see it not providing it's full blocking power, but it should do *something*. When my shield is in my left hand and facing my left, attacks to my left side, should be muffled some, moreso the closer to the center of my shield it hits. Same thing about my rear side when I'm holding a vial and the shield is on my back.

Other uses for useless materials

I know the body of recipes is not finished, but I'd like to see a larger variety of ways to use common materials. For instance, I'd love to see crafting vending machines in the clockworks that craft one-use items like capsules, vials, hearts, vitapods, or even heat. They'd be great for stocking up before a tough area.

Storytelling mechanism

I've been thinking about good ways to deliver little snippets of lore. I think I'd like to see occasional friendly mobs you could encounter during your dungeon crawling. I think they'd go nicely in the side rooms with treasure boxes and no mobs. They could recite a line or two of story. That way, part of the random nature of dungeons would be randomly discovering more of the story.

Shortcuts for seasoned explorers

Basic problem is that even after you have progressed in terms of weapons, armor, and skills, you sometimes you want to go back to Haven to either meet a friend, greet new players, check the bazaar, etc., really, any number of reasons.

If someone who spends their time at the deeper levels wants to go to Haven they must accept that they'll have to work back down to Emberlight, 18 levels deep. The problem is that this is kind of boring and grindy. Often these are the same levels you can play when you are deeper except the monsters are neutered, as is the treasure.

The gate map and levels cycling

So not that I assume these things are in their final implementation, but the gate map combined with the level cycling seems a bit off to me. I think this is really because I don't know the desired outcome.

So right now, when we go to the arcade and go to a gate it shows us the gate map. This is good for giving us a general idea of what levels are below and how far down it goes. This should absolutely stay intact.

Tell me before I purchase if a recipe requires another weapon/armor

So, maybe I just haven't been understanding the star levels correctly, but a frustration for me thus far has been that I keep spending my crowns on recipes, only to find out after I learn them that I can't make the item until I obtain a lesser version of it.

My instinct was to get by on starter gear and save up for higher level gear, rather than continuously blowing my crowns on mediocre items. I'm more weary of doing it now, but the first 3 times it happened were really frustrating.

Useless drops in treasure vaults

Typically a treasure vault is at the end of a level! Cool, a reward for your hard work. But usually they drop a lot of items - vials, capsules, etc. - that will be gone once you leave, and vials seem to be pretty predominant. Takes the feeling of reward out of the reward! I have 2 suggestions,

1. Get rid of those items in a treasure vault.

or

2. Give a player some bonus heat or bonus crowns as part of the level-end roundup, based on whatever's left in the hotkey tab.

When I /sit let me stay sitting until I move. Let me not stand up over time (unless i'm idle), and let me stay down if i'm talking.

Let me return to the same place if I just idled out

I'm not really sure what the best solution is but here is the problem.

I was soloing and in the middle of 2 safe places. To get that far requires a significant time investment. Today after playing for an hour or so, I had to run to the store quickly. I was back in 15-20 mins. But alas, I'd idled out and lost my progress.
