On a scary day, let's honor a fear-linked character.

Porphyrophobia (a fear of purple) - This fearless player was caught rocking an All-Volcanic look, beginning with a Volcaninc Demo Helm With volcanic vertical vents, scarf, and a volcanic candle, followed by volcanic wings (the real ones, baby!) attached to Volcanic Plate Mail, topped off with a Love Aura to give it that nice pink-purple finishing touch. Bravo, Darling!

Actually, although I'm very happy with my look, I've come to realize that I'm not an especially talented costume crafter. Also, I love my personal shade of blue, but it matches none of the accessory colors, so bummer for me. Finally, if i only edit the original post, i'll eventually run out of room, plus I need to update to bring the thread back to the top of page 1.

Pawn? Nay, a Knight, I say! Verily, a King even.

Pawn - The other day I was discussing patterns and textures with my good friend Bechamel (*CLANK* as a name is dropped heavily), when Becs asked me why I had not yet featured his best customer in my fashion appreciation thread. "Who, pray tell, is that, my lord?" I inquired, err, inquiringly. "Why, Pawn, of course! He and his brother Rommil keep me busier than half the knights of the realm combined." So off I set to find the ubiquitous Garment Kings, whom, given their presence on my friends list, are actually pretty easy to find.
Here we see Pawn in all his violet glory, beginning with a prismatic halo hovering over his Charged Quicksilver Helm and a prismatic scarf encircling it below. This combination of covered head from both above and below lend an air of dangerous mystery to this knight. Also on the helm are divine mech'tennas and fancy goggles, both of which have prismatic qualities.
From the shoulders down he stands nicely poised for either the battlefield or the catwalk in a rare White Tabbard, to which he's attached prismatic wings and a prismatic parrying blade. Finally, in what maybe the most attractive of the auras due to its prismatic coloring, is a twilight aura.
Ladies, guard your hearts well in the presence of this dashing player of purple passion!

Sorry, Panda. I really liked your look, which is why I inspected you. Then when I rotated your character, the rocket hammer just came up huge in my window. It made me laugh and I thought others might get a kick out of it too. It was in no way a ridicule of you or your look, which, again, I thought was pretty neat.

My New Flame

Vokster - This fiery creature looks poised to erupt at any moment, as is befitting a full Volcanic Salamander Mask and Suit. Perched powerfully atop the mask and circling his natural volcanic spike is a volcanic halo, befitting of a prince of the fiery depths. Volcanic dragon wings are a natural fit for this set, as is the perfectly matched colors of his solid cobalt crest. And to add a final fiery touch, he's put on a flame aura. The Dragon Princess herself cannot help but feel a little "hot" in the presence of such a powerful, molten warrior. Aloha, Vokster, and Mahalo for the visual treat.

The Dragon Princess pretends not to notice such crude behavior. There really ought to be a room for this.

Okaaaaay, so she's kinda cute.

Rommil - The name itself can hardly be uttered with causing a deep rumble in one's bossom. Rommil, along with his twin brother Pawn, is perhaps the foremost authority on accessories in the game. Even the Dragon Princess must bow before this most decorated of knights. Knowing what a daunting task it would be to showcase his looks, Mawashimono has been putting this one off for a bit. But, really now, what would a Spiral Knights Fashion Appreciation Thread be without his inclusion. So, without further ado, we present to you *Rommil* in all his resplendence!

Danger! High Voltage!

Rommil 1 - Rumor has it that Rommil "had work done" i.e. a personal color change, just to better fit this electrifying look. It's all centered around that Shocking Bombhead Mask with prismatic mech'tennas. Rommil is further attired in Blazebreak Armor with prismatic wings (barely visible from this front view - Mawashimono is a better writer than photographer, it seems). On his hip sets a prismatic canteen, which, combined with its own prismatic qualities, really stands out. Finally, what would an electric-theme outfit be with out electric fireflies flitting about it, each prismatically showing off his lightning-blue personal color. Perhaps next time we'll catch him with an electric sword in his hand to go along with that electric blue shield. If the Dragon Princes had fur rather than scales, it no doubt would have been standing on end when standing close to this electrifying outfit.

A Divine Lover of Bergundy and Blue

Rommil 2 - Before I try to describe this outfit, Mawashimono would like you to be aware of the fact that 7 is the maximum number of accessories that any single outfit can have. To actually put 7 on in a way that creates an attractive appearance is quite a challenge to one's creativity as well as one's wallet, and Rommil seems to have an abundance of both to pull this off.
Rommil is perhaps showing a bit of his humorous side, but the Dragon Princess never knew a Volcanic Demo Helm could look so dashing! Perhaps it's the divine mustache at the center of this outfit which caused me to smile first, but there's also a divine ribbon resting jauntily on back of the helm and a creatively used divine wide vee on the front, while the sides of the helm are framed by two prismatic mech'tennas. The divine white of the helm accessories are further heightened by the natural whites of the Vitasuit Deluxe, to which he's attached a toasty bomb bandolier with colors similar to that of his helm and sword. Unfortunately the photographer (*ahem*) was not able to do justice to the wonderfully cute prismatic wolver tail, nor to the notoriously hard to capture twinkle aura that is encompassing him. In this case, a photo is truly a poor substitute for the real thing, but perhaps everyone can see that there is certainly something of a "Yeeeaaahhh, Baby!" look to this outfit.

Resistance is Futile

Rommil 3 - Here Rommil is showing off one of his favorites - a Rock Jelly Helm. Looking something a like a Borg-controlled Capt. Picard here, Rommil has once again managed to attach no less than 4(!) divine accessories - a halo, a helm-mounted display, mecha wings, and a scarf. Matching the greys of helm and accessories is a grey Fencing Jacket with its adorable above-the-knee boots. Rommil incredibly maintains a consistent divine theme throughout with two more divine accessories - a divine bomb bandolier and divine wings. His 7th and final accessory is the hardly visible twinkle aura. One cannot help but be completely charmed by this outfit. "Resistance is futile" indeed!

The Molten Man

Rommil 4 - Looking almost like his own twin here, Rommil once again makes creative use of a Rock Jelly Helm and Fencing Jacket. To this helm he has put on a volcanic halo, volcanic scarf, volcanic mecha wings, and a heavy helm-mounted display. The Fencing Jacket continues the volcanic theme with volcanic wings, a heavy parrying blade, and an engulfing flame aura. The natural prismatic buckles on his thigh-high boots add a cute finishing touch to this Lava Lover!

Happy 1-Year Anniversary, SK!

Rommil 5 - Rommil is showcasing the games most recent accessories here in honor of the 1-year anniversary of Spiral Knights. The Spiral Pith Helm is a perfect frame for the prismatic party hat and prismatic blowout. A matching Spiral Cuirass obviously has a sprinkle aura attached. But what's this! Here's a rare treat - a prismatic vitakit perched preciously on his back completes this festive ensemble.

Men at Work

Rommil 6 - When there's hard and dirty work to be done, you can count on Rommil showing up well-equipped to lend a helping hand. The bright shining light of his Mining Hat is accented by a dusky helm-mounted display for the deep, dark caverns. He'll keep in contact with his military (grade) com unit, and keep warm in the dank depths with an especially toasty scarf. Providing a combination of agility and functionality is a Vitasuit. Once again, showing that no one is better prepared, he's brought along a dusky barrel belly and a military vitakit. One can only imagine what goodies he's packed inside! And just in case there are any ghoulish surprises waiting down below, he's put on a ghostly aura. This get up fairly sings "Dirty Deeds, Done Dirt Cheap!"

Wherefore Alt Thou, Rommil?

Sluggil - Yes, not surprisingly, Rommil has (at least one) alternate, and not one you'd want to muck about with! Resembling its name, here's a rather unsavory looking character. One can almost smell the foul aroma that draws the flies of his unclean aura. Girls who like the bad boys, however, may find Sluggil rather appealing, with his punk rock looks achieved with the use of a Rock Jelly Helm and cool mohawk. Who knows what grotesque music he may be channeling thru his glowing prismatic mech'tennas. The prismatic goggles further add to his slightly dangerous and deranged look. One's sense of anxiety might be further enhanced by the massive glowing bomb he's carrying, a bomb matched by a divine bomb bandolier attached to a Black (of course) Tabard. Rommil's using this alt to show a darker, yet no less fashionable, side, to be sure.

So there you have it. For players with a lot of patience and even more money, perhaps Rommil's looks will give you some good ideas. I certainly enjoyed analyzing them, and look forward to his future fashion forays.
