Guild Hall Improvement Ideas

Hello,
I am Rgn-Vertigo and I have actually quite many things to say in ideas of improvements on the GUILD HALL section of the game. Personally, as of now, the guild hall is just a place where guild members meet together for conferences, parties, and all that sort of stuff.
As a notice to me, due to joining the guild hall-- You can see "Guild Hall 1" and under it "Shadow Mercenaries" (My guild's name for example). Meaning that it could really be customizable. My idea is that instead of having "Guild Hall 1", it could be for example "Guild Hall Lobby" instead. Seeing of that, there are still many areas in the guild hall yet to be unlocked for us, thus seeing that means that there could be many other sections such as Training, Dorms, and all sorts of things, so guild halls can really become more of a place that guild members can stay in and hangout, instead of being at the Advanced Training Hall, the Town Square, the Baazar, the Arcade, and all sorts.
Of course, to unlock these areas either you will have to pay energy and/or crowns to have these new areas (Which only the officers or higher could do it). In addition to that, it should be able to be decorated as in many ways, so that every guild has their own different types of halls as they wish. There should also be a section in our inventory called "Guild" or "Furniture" that we can use to decorate our guild hall for example Moorcroft Mansion's chairs, torches, and all sorts. The flooring should also be customizable, such as if we wanted the floor to be carpet, we need to pay of crowns to get it. Also the background, it's really neat having the unique clockworks background, but it should again-- Also be customizable for example having Scarlet Fortress' background would be really beautiful also.
And a little last addition to all my ideas above, since the server is hosted at a spot, and everyone is seeing the same thing. (I'm not sure if this is possible or not) but guild masters should be able to upload guild logos (if applicable) in a dimension of around 150X150 to be able to put up for everybody to see as flags, insignias, and much more.
Thanks alot for reading,
Cheers,
Rgn-Vertigo.
I agree with this - the guild hall is pretty useless right now.
I think at minimum they should have arcade access added so that you can start a dive down any gate from the gh (I'm sure a simple interface could be devised for this) and some vendors (crafting, token, maybe even ah access). Basically make being in the guild hall convenient. Right now it's just too out of the way <_<
Something I and my fellow guild members have been wishing for is the ability to actually use those file cabinets -- yes, I know they're just decoration, like the ones in the Recycling/Storage/Deconstruction Zone boards, but it would be cool if a Guild could pool resources in some way. Like... a Guild recipe notebook, in which you had the option to scribe a recipe rather than learning it for yourself; or a Guild materials storage cabinet, where you could deposit materials and anyone in Guild could pick them up or consume them. Not sure what the best way of implementing this would be, but it seems there ought to be some sort of "teamwork" function to a Guild, and this would be one of them.

Hmm... Maybe adding a unique guild hall music should work also :O
Right now it's just a useless, empty room with a crafting stand. I always loved customizable rooms in MMOs and from all I've seen they're really popular.
Recipes for "decorative" items could be rare drops from chests or monsters (not EXTREMELY rare like other items). Or there could just be a second merchant besides Basil that sells these recipes at the crossroads (*Gasp*! Unthinkable!). Then you could then craft with materials, crowns and energy just like any other crafted item. They would have star values and could be sold on the Auction House (up to 3*) like anything else.
As said before, there could be anything from furniture to weapons or items just lying about. New floor plans and all kinds of things. Very rare items could be NPCs to float around and be adorably useless, like Mewkats, Jellies and Snipes... or interact-able items like a record player that lets you change the music.
No actual benefit to players, just optional fun - but 100% sink so 100% benefit to OOO. The best kind of content for EVERYONE involved. Not to mention it would probably cause a lot of end-game players to buy their own guild just to do this. I know I would.
-------
I feel like we could definitely purchase unmovable accessories and furniture for our Guild Halls as well! Such things as Jukeboxes for changing the music of the Guild Hall (maybe pick up rare drop-able records containing different music?), or padlocked safes in which the guild can donate and take out items, use it like a Safety Deposit box? Maybe even a dressing room to try on different outfits or costumes!
THERE SHOULD BE A GUILD GATE, A TRAING CENTER THERE A PVP THING [ WHEN COMES BACK ON ] A GUILD ACUTION HOUSE, A GUILD MEETING ROOM

A guild gate, probably something like 4 floors or something... Just for a fun run. I'm not really sure how it should work though.
The training center... Probably something like a private training hall in the guild I suppose... And maybe a sparring zone to PVP.
A guild auction house may not work to small guilds... (Such as mines)
A meeting room, there is always the meeting room there, no?

===Basic===
-Change 'Guild Hall 1' to 'Guild Hall Lobby'
-Able to change Backgrounds
-A record-player/Jukebox (To change the background music)
-Vendors (All of them (types, of course))
-A Gate for the Guild, probably placed at that balcony at the North of the Guild
-A cabinet to 'scribe' recipes (possibly linked up to the crafting machine so that only recipes in the cabinet can be used)
-A deposit box (Perhaps one next to the gate for minerals, and another for materials? Also one for equipment?)
-Customizable Guild Flags
-Furniture! AKA Interactive purchasable items i.e. a bed which you can bounce/sleep on. and flooring.
-Message Board (nothing complex like the forums) (Perhaps like mail system? cost or no cost?)
-One of those Arsenal Boxes somewhere in the Room (It wouldn't need to do anything, just sit there looking cool)
===Developed===
-Able to expand the Guild through Heat. (I don't know how to explain Flash-Fire's way so what I propose is that all your heat that you gain in either all dungeons (or only the guild one) are also added (NOT taken away or split, duplicated) into one massive Guild bar that, when full, would allow you to expand your guild. This would encourage recruiting since more members=more Heat.)
-Perhaps related to the Above idea, a Guild Bank (As outlined here: http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/15207?page=1#comment-157348)
-Message Board (Only Guildmasters and Captains can post messages? Maybe allowing a reply function? Placed in accesable place of Guild Hall)
-Type-Writing style machine somewhere on a desk which allows the ideas outlined in: http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/15207#comment-97734 . Perhaps woth CE and/or Cr cost per member rank change to stop any possible abuse.
-'Private' Dungeons accessible through a station next to the guild elevator which allows the idea(s) outlined through this post ( http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/15207?page=1#comment-102198 ) and its related posts.
-A training hall? Possibly PvP (Or a single-level dungeon) See: http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/15207#comment-94126 . Unlike the 'Private' Dungeon, the monsters are randomised, with only member and above allowed to see which monsters are about to be spawned. This should create a bond of trust between the two guildies. Also, only one recruit + one member (or above are allowed) in order to retain the training halls usage as a place for TRAINING. (The training hall shall never be mandatory ever)
-Customization of guild member ranks (naming of) See: http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/15207#comment-97734
-Customizable Tabards (The Guild Flags can also, somehow, be transfered onto Tabards and worn by Members as Tabards. They are given out to members by the GM(s). If a person leaves the Guild with a Guild Tabard in their Inventory, they will lose that Guild Tabard. Also good for the idea posted in: http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/15207?page=2#comment-195324)
===DONE===
-A dressing room? (Defunct due to 07/21/2011 update.)
P.S. I think you are right about Heat being underused. Maybe there should be a button which slowly drains your heat and transfers it into invincibilty and massive damage! And it would continue until the Heat gauge is empty to avoid spamming. This would give all those people who have leveled up all their weapons and armour something to do with their Heat.

That's actually a really awesome idea for the heat.. And I'm not sure how this 'guild heat' will work though.
About the dressing room, there was never a feature to see whether the costume will look good on us or not, so like there should be a costume 'tryout' place before you actually bound them.

I think that it should work as that when the guild heat bar (or circle or something) is full you have the option to unlock a new area or option for the guild hall (See my previous post). Of course this may just be something which allows you to purchase a new option of the guild rather than allowing you to unlock it for free.

Ah, I see. Should work pretty well, 100% support this idea.
Rather than a deposit box, how about a guild equipment locker where you could put in equipment to bind it to the guild, and anyone could borrow it for gates for a sunk fee once you've got a comparable item of the same level and category?

Why not have both? Deposit box for the materials, Equipment locker for the equipment! But, what is that 'sunk fee' and other stuff about? I don't really understand.
i thinke that you could interact with the items like a bed. you would get on and sleep or relax or just jump around. :D

Okay I'm adding the 'interactive furniture/ purchasable items' to the list now.

Oh, and if you find anyone who has some really good ideas redirect them here so I can add their ideas to the list.

I kind of re-read over what you said on the 'one floor dungeon' as for the training grounds, will that even cost energy to go down? Or will it be free... What enemies will be there? Is it even WORTH going? (Many questions, lol)
It would be really convinient to add a Guild Announcement board where officers and guild leaders can post news and notices for all of the guild to read :)
If we're talking about "Guild Heat," one thing I think would be kind of fun, addicting, and make a habit of would be somewhat of a Heat Dispenser Machine in which every day it distributes 10 units of heat (about one large ball full) to each guild player every day. Larger guilds and Upgrades to the machine would give up to a maximum of 50 units of heat to players who- naw forget it it's a bad idea. That would create guild monopolies and become a terrible reason why players should join guilds.
People should join guilds under a common goal or similarity, like wanting to raid jelly dungeon over and over again, or talk about puppies in the guild chat while slaying undeads. Having dispenser machines in the guild would be a bad idea and invite new players into guild for all the wrong reasons.

Well that may be the case of guilds that just likes to recruit large and large amounts of members and stuff. It's not like that for all.

Adding guild annoucment board. I can't believe we forget that!

As for the dungeon, it would probably be a place where random monsters would spawn so that a recruit, accompioned by a member, would show them how to fight. Like, a member would invite a recruit into the training hall and before they step on the party button which releases the monsters; there would be a small display showing whichy monsters there were going to be. The member then instructs the recruit in his/her own way to defeat the aforementioned monsters and the recuit learns how it works in practise by the button restting after every wave until they decide to leave via the Options Tab, or the Elevator at the end of the single-room dungeon. There would be no-cost, no-reward. I feel that this would be a great way to integrate new members into a guild. Swapping of strategies over monsters.
P.S. This is not a concrete idea, merely one of the suggested possibilities.
As for the guild heat dispenser, how about the upgraded amount of heat dispensed only occurs to the person who upgraded the machine? Therefore for a new member to fully use the machine the guild must be willling to provide the Crowns/Materials/Whatever, to the aforementioned member so that he may fully upgrade the machine? How about that?

Probably it should work pretty fine, AS LONG as they don't abuse working the machine...

Pretty much say it all. How could they abuse working the machine? What does that even mean?
Just an idea or two:
The guild heat could be obtained from the players that have all lvl 10 gear on. AKA when all your gear reaches max level the excess heat you earn then goes toward the guild instead of going poof into nothingness like it does now.
or
The guild heat could be gained as a portion of the heat that the guilds member normally pick up. In this a player would be allowed to set a percentage of their heat gains to be designated towards the guild.
As for the guilds pooling their materials, I believe that it could be very simple. I would suggest taking a look at the Guild Bank system that World of Warcraft has in place for its members because it works very nicely.

For your first idea, that finally makes me have something to do since all my items are level 10 already. -OR- Either if OOO is already planning something about the heat usage... Too bad.
PERSONALLY, I think the second idea should work better. It's kind of more balanced for people who maybe wants to contribute to the guild when their items aren't level 10 yet.
i had made a thread similar to this without knowing about this one... ( it was brought to my attention by Vertigo153)
most of my ideas have already been mentioned but here it is nonetheless http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/17029
OOO dont care about that,it's from the beginning of SK that people whine about the usefulness of the Guild hall
but its adding more use for crowns and energy, resulting in more people buying energy, which they care about
Yes I will be dissapointed if we don't see this.

Okay. I just updated the suggestions list, and streamlined/spell-checked it a bit, added a section at the bottom for any suggestion completed/defunct.
Also, what do you think of this idea: http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/3207
Do you think we can integrate it into the guild hall? Or maybe an option for the training hall where two teams play.
P.S. Do you think the Heat idea (draining of the heat bar/circle to fuel massive power) is worthy of its own thread?
i really liked the paintball idea
All the ideas eternity08 has pitched about heat are fantastic I would love to be able to activate a rage like mode with heat if I don't require it. Also the guild gauge for heat collection to allow for advancement is fairly basic although brilliant much like xp guild systems in Wow
It sounds like what everyone's asking for is basically - making a Haven for every single Guild. I am a Guild Master - so I support this idea. xD

Just start a thread about it. Just remember to credit me as the person who thought it up ok? (I'm talking about the heat/rage feature)
Also since people have been (Okay 2 people) have been talking about the guild system of WoW I have included the WoW wikia link for it here: http://www.wowwiki.com/Guild
But be Warned! There is a load of extensive information on that page. Good luck sorting through it all! Although, some of them do appear to be useful. May bounce some ideas off you guys later.
This doesn't actually pertain to guild hall per say but it does to guilds, who here would like the right to decide the names of there ranks in there guild and possibly have additional ranks (more than 4)

I'm not 100% sure I should put it into the list, I'll let the other guys decide.
Sounds pretty good. Only problem is, how do recruits know which is which?
My suggestion, give each playericons which denote what they are e.g. recruits='nothing', members=^, veterans=^^ (on top of each other), Veterans=same as Member, but with _ underneath symbol, Ofiicer=same as member but with * underneath _, GM= Totally Unique icon/Gold Star.
These Icons would be displayed in the Guild tab under Social (somewhere on their name, I guess) and right-clicking/hovering on their names would bring up their title. Is this satisfactory for you Tovvok?
On an all-together different note, click this: http://wiki.spiralknights.com/Talk:Guild
and tell me whether any of you knew about this.
Yea I hadn't thought about that it would be very helpful in retaining basic structure while still allowing for custimization again as i've said before simplistic yet brilliant.
before in WoW I used to just explain the ranking system, but this way its less trivial
i think there should be a guild pvp and a dressing room where you can try out other gild members clothes.also with the guild pvp i think that there should be a guild weapon inventory that has copys of every guildmembers weapons and armour that can only be used in the pvp room to eliminate unfair advantages of course also meaning that there are no uvs and abilitys and when you leave the pvp room the items you used disapear
to the guild rank name idea, i will back you up on that one
I've though of a better way to explain the training hall idea I had. So first you customize, say, a 50x50 square room(maybe choose room size?). you will see this room from the top down with a grid, and you can pan around the room and place different objects(bushes, blocks), obstacles (bombs, spikes), and monsters around in it. The room is connected to a hallway with a gate, so after you finish the customization you can train in that situation. Guild members should be able to save the levels they design, but officers and GM's can post them for all guild members to use. players can then either choose to create their own level, load a level they saved, or load a office/Gm made level. also maybe implement switches, or monsters that spawn after all the other monsters have died (like a danger room or arena). this will allow players to practice/recreate specific situations they have trouble with.
I like it but its one of those huge innovative advances that would be too difficult for them to patch in i believe
Eye agwee wiz dis and eye shink wi shuld has a lawt of fun wiz dis.
+1

1) Check your spelling.
2) Sounds like something which belongs in the community level designer (I forgot which link it was, sorry!)
3) I'm goinng to add in the member level name change as a type-writing machine or such in the Guild-hall. This would streamline the whole process, as well as give people something to work for (Guild Heat system anyone?)
4) Could everyone not post for at least 30 minutes on this thread? I need to get the list in order.

I've sorted the list into basic (simple ideas), Advanced (ideas we kind of know how will function), and Done (ideas that are implemented or redundant).
I've also set up a new topic about using Heat as described at the bottom of my list (Since I don't think that it belongs in guild improvement ideas). The link is: http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/17413
So, I found the thread you were talking about. but that's not really what i meant, they were talking about it being a whole community type thing. I was thinking maybe a computer somewhere in the guild hall that you can design the levels on, and then either take the left or right pathway to go to the training hall and play said levels (accessible by the guild only.). it wouldn't cost any energy to play but maybe a few crowns or energy to make, a few more to save, and even more to post....
on a less related note, I found this (I didn't see the link anywhere in this thread): http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/2538
it has a lot of idea not covered in this thread, but also a lot that are
the points i found most interesting:
-Guild vs Guild battles
-Guild mascot ( a monster of choice that wanders around the GH)
-multiple guild floors
-guild dorms (individual rooms for each member, animal crossing style customization.)
I really like this idea, though I think that it'd be cool if instead of charging up more energy or crowns for everything, I think it'd be nice if the guild hall had a 'heat' bar and whenever guild members did dungeons it would still put the same amount of heat into your gear, but it would also put your heat into the guild hall.
I don't want the guild hall to leech my heat, which is why I think it would be cool if it doubled and then half of it went into the guild hall, get it? x _x; I know it's not the best explanation, but you get the idea.
I think heat is underused as a commodity.
