Ok, I sort of know what you

Ok, I sort of know what you are talking about, and I guess it could be integrated into the current 'dungeon' idea we have now
( http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/15207#comment-94126 ) but this would have to have its own seprate update in order to accomodate all of those things. Other than that, it seems okay; except for how much it would cost to use it and such, we need to decide on that.

Also, as for that link you provided; added to my favourite bar. I'm going to look over it and see if there is anything which could possibly be integrsated into the list.

pricing

i don't know about specifics, but I think that it should cost a fairly large amount of crowns and energy for the initial purchase of the feature since it would be a pretty big feature (both currencies because that will help the economy become more stable.).

-Purchase of feature 400+ce & 5k+ crowns
-designing a level 100-500 crowns
-saving a level 1k - 2k crowns
-posting a level 10ce & 3k

these are just prices that i think would be pretty fair

also maybe the prices could vary depending on level size or amount of objects inside. Or another idea, maybe have a level design catalog with all of the different monsters and objects that the guild members can use (each thing only needs to be purchased once and then everyone in the guild can use it in their levels.) although pricing would be more complicated for this.

hall of fame...

i had to do some digging to find this thread as it got a little buried.....
maybe the guild halls could have a hall of fame. guild members could earn a place in various categories in the hall of fame...

possible categories:
-most (boss name here) kills
-most monster kills overall
-player who revived the most comrades
-most floors cleared
-most danger rooms cleared
-highest average life span (measured in floors, add up amount of times died and floors cleared and average them out.)

1st placers would have their name displayed and maybe a model of their character (inspectable?)
maybe even have a 2nd and 3rd place with just a name displayed

The thing is, SK doesn't seem

The thing is, SK doesn't seem to have guild for any reason. It's just like a weird friend list. Guilds are pretty much just useless. You pay so much energy and crowns on making a guild, and pretty much nothing happens with it.

SK seriously need to come up with something for guilds to do. Even Combat Arms has Clan wars.

Sk needs to come up with a use for guilds, otherwise they may as well just not be there.

Training/sparring arena sounds good. I read SK is coming up with a PVP arena. Can't wait to try it out. AT least have some room where you can maybe test out your weapons? Go to the training hall and someone will probably set you on fire.

Just come up with something SK. Seriously.

The Mist Catalyzer

About to go on a clockwork run, and you don't have enough energy? Did you just spend all your crowns on alchemizing that shiny 5* weapon? Fear not, for you may have access to Guild shared energy!

I suggest an upgrade to the guild hall: A Mist Catalyzer!

The Mist Catalyzer is a machine that, like each Knight's suit, can absorb the latent energy of the planet and store it into a tank. This energy can be freely shared by guild members, within limitations set by the guild master.

Let's set some ground data, shall we?

• The Mist Catalyzer has a maximum capacity of 200 Energy, and will only produce Mist Energy.
- However, the capacity of the MC can be increased! For every 5 guild members, the MC's tank capacity is increased by 10 units.

• The Mist Catalyzer absorbs energy at a variable rate; the more guild member that are online, the faster the energy can be absorbed!
- When no guild members are online, the MC will produce a single unit of energy every 28 minutes and 48 seconds. At this rate, it will take 4 days to reach full capacity when the tank is still at basic capacity.

- For every guild member online, the absorption rate will be reduced by a full minute, up to a maximum rate of 13 minutes and 12 seconds. (The rate that a Knight's suit will absorb energy.)

- Because of the changing absorption rate, the speed at which the MC collects energy will not change until the next absorption cycle. (If you log on, the rate will decrease to around 27 minutes once the next cycle starts. If 7 more guild members log on before the next cycle, the rate will become 20 minutes when the next cycle starts. Likewise, if you have 15 guild members online, and 10 of them log off, the rate won't change to 23 minutes until the next cycle.) This would be much easier to translate into programming than dynamically changing the rate.

• The energy in the Mist Catalyzer can only be drawn from once per day, except by the guild master, who has unlimited access.
- Furthermore, the energy one can withdraw from the MC is limited. (The limit depends on one's guild rank, and can be changed by the guild master. Default amounts would be 0 for Recruits, 10 for Members, 20 for Veterans, and 40 for Officers.)

- If one runs out of energy while inside of a clockwork, they have the option to draw energy from the MC tank. However, they still are only to draw energy once per day.

• The absorption rate of the Mist Catalyzer can be overclocked!
- By using 25 Crystal Energy, the absorption rate of the MC can be boosted to 13.2 minutes, with no regard for the number of guild members online. However, if one chooses to do so, the energy the MC produces cannot be accessed until the tank is at full capacity; the tank is locked until the absorption process is complete. By doing this, one can turn 25 Energy into no less than 200 energy, in about 2 days!

• Energy produced by the Mist Catalyzer can be stored into Mist Tanks!
- At the cost of 500 Crowns, and by drawing 15 Energy from the tank, one can convert their energy into a Mini Mist Tank for later use.

- I was debating on whether one should be able to convert the energy into Crystal Energy (at an exchange rate of around 5:1), but that could potentially hurt the sale of Crystal Energy, and we don't want that!

- The once-a-day draw limit is still in place; one can withdraw energy, create a Mini Mist Tank, or call for energy while in a clockwork only once each day.

So tell me what you think!

RE: pricing

Okay, finally got around to posting on this thread.

Okay mymancanoe, here are my thoughts on the pricing.

-Purchase: This can be figured out by SK, but the combination of CE and Cr pricing (with Cr being substantially more than CE) is a really good idea.
-Design: I'd say around 350-450 Crowns for choosing a bland dungeon (prices differ on size of dungeon and 'pre-installed features' i.e. brambles, spikes, etc). Then you can buy 'rounds' with the first one being free and the rest costing a trivial amount of CE and 500 Crowns
(probably capped at a certaim amount). After that you can place the spawning of the monsters and click on them to change when they appear (time-delay, or when other monsters are wiped out). The cost of the monsters would vary, with perhaps each dungeon having a limit on how many monsters are allowed in each round. Each monster would cost something (This is hurting my head now, I'm just going to leave the rest to SK)>
-Saving a level: Seems reasonable.
-Posting: Should be free, or cost very little Cr, to the guild. Of course the way I'm thinking is that each person can have only one dungeon which they can improve on and share with friends/guildies.

(I'm sure that there is something I'm missing, so feel free to tell me)
The catalogue system could be integrated into the system with someone 'unlocking' a monster for some thing (again, head hurt, leave to SK).

Idea Stoler!

Lol! You pretty much said my entire idea that I had been discussing with my friend. We were saying that it would be excellent if Guild Masters(Not officers, or guild masters would pretty much be pointless) Had the ability to purchase things with crystal energy.

And by things I mean EVERYTHING. You could purchase every block and they all respawn, except for treasure boxes which are free...
Yes, treasure boxes are free.
BUT there is a catch!
They are empty, you are required to fill them with stuff or else when they break nothing comes out.

As for training, you would even be able to place traps, and mob spawners. And you could even link switches and buttons and the like to traps and gates.

This would really encourage donations to the guild. AND I'm pretty sure it would encourage buying Crystal Energy, thus making the developers money.

EVERYONE WINS!

RE: posters

@Vertigo: Thanks. But really, what did you expect? No, really, what did you expect?

@eEcyrbb: Looks that way. But, hey! That's sort of why this thread exists. To give the Developers some ideas as to what we want for when they do expand the Guild-Hall.

@Chickenation: Not sure what the first paragraph contributes to. As for Treasure boxes, I feel that there would be too many people complaining about them because, well, someone is paying to fill them with something, what about that person? And remember, these set-ups are supposed to be played over again by other people, who is going to fill the boxes then? Although, I guess that for training levels one person (the member) could click on a treasure box and fill it up with crowns or heat (purchasable in crowns) and maybe a recipe, for when the recruit completes the level.

(You know what? This makes me feel that I need to go back to the list and clarify what a training level, and personal dungeon is.)

And for your training suggestion with spawners and the switches and the buttons, yeah, I'm pretty certain that has already been suggested.

@gerryw173: Almost 100% certain that reason has been provided in one of the previous posts.

This just seems overly complicated and open to abuse. Well, to me at least. I really need other people's input on this thing.

Hey! I've been so frustrated

Hey!
I've been so frustrated lately about getting messages out to my guild members. I read through some of the first page so I see an announcment board has already been suggested. I really support this idea. We have guild forums but we all know that it would be easier to be able to have an announcement board where we can post direct links to a certain thread in our guild forums, stuff like that.

I also like the idea of some sort of deposit box. Even a place where people can donate CE or crowns to the guild itself, but it can only be used on guild expenses. It would keep officers and guild masters from using it for personal reasons. They could upgrade the guild hall and stuff like that with donations. Or it could be used for guild events if a guild wants to hold an event for themselves or game wide.

I also would love some sort of guild politics with alliances and stuff sort of like what Puzzle Pirates have I guess. I think it would bring more of a purpose to a guild and a guild hall. Where guilds can get guild tokens for different reasons and can spend them on being able to have more members, recipes that don't have to be learned but can be used by guild members (like the idea for the pvp but for guilds).

I like a lot of the other suggestions here as well. I'll take more time to read everything when I'm not so tired.

Thanks!

My Suggestions

Hey. eternity08 redirected me to this thread.

Link to my thread if needed: http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/18158

My guild suggestions? It's an exact quote from my post (apart from the stuff in quotes. lol). Although it's not about guild halls, it does have something to do with guild improvement.

--

Hey everyone! I have some new suggestions for guilds in general. I'd love to know what you think, so if you care to, leave feedback below!

Okay first off, I have to say the 100 player limit is useless and annoying. It shouldn't be lifted, but it should be extended. Maybe to 200, or 400 I don't know. Four hundred honestly sounds like too much; I think I'll stick with somewhere around 200-250. Yeah 250, that sounds nice. Anyways... Yeah guilds need more space! Me and my older sister are running a guild, and we constantly have people asking if we can invite their friends but the guild is full! Maybe other guilds don't have this problem due to there being requirements to join the guild, but our guild is a matchmaking guild so we need all the people we can get!

One of my other suggestions is for there to be more diversity in the guild ranks. Not really to add diversity, but as an extra feature...
Something like this would be nice:

Un-Ranked (No rank)
Recruit
Member
Veteran
Officer
Head/Lead Officer (would have permission to demote/demote officers without being a Guild Master)
Guild Master
Guild Founder (Basically this is just for the creator, letting the guild members know who the guild creator is, not a now rank just a designation)
"
Names don't really matter, the rank system is basically numbers, and a few more numbers need to be added to the system. Somthing like this basically, with any name

5. Un-Ranked
4. Recruit
4. Member
4. Adept Member --] All of these are number "4" because they all have the same rights in the guild.
4. Veteran
3. Officer
2. Ambassador/Captain/Head Officer
1. (2)Guild Master
1. (1)Guild Founder
"
Thanks for reading and let me know what you think,

Secure

P.S. I would tell everyone to join my guild who read this is, if they need some games to join but it's full -_-

RE: 64

(I'm going to use numbers from now on since this thread is just so big)

Good ideas, and it could possibly be integrated seemlessly into the current system through the use of the 'Senriority' system. But, check whether it would stack well with ( http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/15207#comment-97734 ).

Also, I would suggest that Guild Founder only be applicable to the person who founded the guild, therfore if he leaves the guild the next person in line shall only be known as the guild master (Obvious, I know, but it just had to be said for the record).

All in all, good idea. But it needs to be cleaned up (Made more clearer).

Also, try to keep guild promotions out of this. This is a thread for suggestions on how to improve the guild hall.

P.S. I have updated the list, check it out with: http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/15207#comment-88351

And then again, maybe some customized guild ranks could be good, like we can custom ranks on our own ^^

Why so, probably we can show ranks under our guild tags also like in the guild halls and stuff like that.

For the love of...

Does anyone really need a guildhall? I mean, you can just use guildchat, type /guild. I guess guild cotume armor would be cool, but all you would be really able to change is color. We already have one useless training hall as well. You guys really want to put a couch in there to sit on or somehting? You can probabaly do that in real life. And then someone said put in a freaking mascot.... I just don't find this entertaining, why not have the game makers put their effort into something like a new boss stratum, or new items, or a actuualy cool version of pvp.

The guild hall could be a place for announcements that could be put on said guild message board instead of the GMs having to message every single member to get the message across when they aren't online.

A customized flag would also be nice, one hung up on the back area where the background is seen.

And then... Another idea here. You see when your guild member logs on, it would say something like "Guild Member logged on" or so. Maybe they should change that to rank names for example

"Guild Recruit logged on"
"Guild Member Logged on"

And so on. What do you guys think? Just making information more clear.

Hm.. I think out of all

Hm.. I think out of all those, the guild Message board and Jukebox has merit, though some sort of guild pvp system would be interesting besides the awful Bomberman game.

Being an Officer in my guild, I interact with our guild members alot, and alot of the time they make requests to each other for specific items like recipes when doing runs, asking one of the other members to buy it for them if they see it. I find if we had some sort of Bulletin Board for messages like that it would be easy for members to leave messages to the guild if they were requesting things like this, or if they had to leave for awhile, or any other message for the guild.

Another suggestion for the Guildhall that my Guild leader has mentioned was either having the Trade channels work in the Guildhall, or have an area that accesses the Auction House. As strange as it may seem, my guild hangs in our guild hall rather often to get away from the beggars and annoyances of the Havens.

Finally..I guess maybe put a Pinball machine in there? :P

Ideas

Maybe for the heat bar you could donate a portion of your heat to the guild if you wanted to? Therefore more devoted gilds would be better off.
Also for the recipe scribing the machine should only hold about 5 recipes at a time, so that it doesnt unbalance the game, or maybe have a much larger cost, or OOO woiuld never allow this. Only officer+ would be able to delete recipes.

Fix heat idea

Here it is the solution to donating heat to the guild for all needed purposes.

There will be vending machines every beginning of a gate, crossroads, murcroft manor, etc.
It will let you edit the percentages of all things that might require heat.
So for example if there once becomes 5 things that need heat. This is how it is.

Requirement A- 20%
Requirement B- 20%
Requirement C- 20%
Equipment Requirement- 20%
Guild Donation Requirement- 20%

So if the total heat you receive is 500 units then 20% goes to each category you edited.
There must always be equality so the percentages must always be equal to 100%
The editing system will always be automatically updated if your stuff doesn't need anymore heat.
That way no heat is wasted, and idiots won't be able to keep the percentage above 0%.

So basically this is how they can be shown as

Requirement A- 25%
Requirement B- 25%
Requirement C- 25%
Equipment Requirement- 0%
Guild Donation Requirement- 25%

Requirement A- 30%
Requirement B- 20%
Requirement C- 40%
Equipment Requirement- 0%
Guild Donation Requirement- 10%

This is an effective way to do things and there should be one in the bazzar, guildhall, haven, and arcade.
Just encase you don't get one in a gate.

Prestige system (Guild heat)

Id like to see a more reason for guilds to e public. As of now all guilds are simple little titles. there no respect or prestige among guilds. It would be nice if there were opportunities for this. Perhaps we could have a prestige system (no not like call of duty) I have a general idea....

There could a be central guild center thats accessible by the guild hall. Basiclly its the spiral order making supervising all the guilds. Here multiple guilds could come together to collaborate and do giuld business. There'd be several rooms here. The first would be a front office/registry or something. Here you can view various stats and files on several guild. This would include average Tier level, number of monster killed prestige(more on that later), MVP of the guild, guild profile and more. This could even be a central recruiting station. Also from here you might be able to submit a guild crest or symbol and if its approved it could go in the guild hall and on your shield (Not my idea about the crest. Later I shall provide the link to the original thread with this idea). Next to that could be a guild bazaar where you could trade among guilds and purchase furniture as stated above. There'd also be a diplimatic room where only officers and guild master could enter. here you could make alliances with other guilds. If you make an alliance you wont fight in PVP guild matches (theres a reason for this). Finally there could be an arcade which would feature guild only clockworks. I think id be coo if the paths were all random, and you had the opportunity to appear in a level with another guild were pvp would turned on. The thing is these levels would have to have multiple path that only crossed each other, not overlapped.

Now to explain my main idea, Prestige. Basically every time you completely a level while in a guild you earn prestige, which is basically green heat. Completing levels which guild members gives you a prestige multiplier. Over time the spiral order will acknowledge your guilds prestige and allow you to upgrade your guild hall. Also you use prestige to unlock recipes to make furniture. The thing is the more the spiral order funds you, the high expectations your guild is required to meet. if you dont earn a specific amount then then you get downgraded. Now playing levels isn't the only way to earn prestige. you can also steal prestige in PVP battles. Prestige unlocks are by both amount and gild rank. I kinda have to wrap this up im in a hurry but this could help create a basic system of competitiveness and pride as a guild

long story short, you guild earns heat for sing things around the clockworks. Yo can fight for this heat in pvp battles. The spiral order will award you for reaching certain guild rank or level of heat with guild hall upgrade and furniture recipes

The Guild Bank

I am going to steal an implementation from GLOBAL AGENDA and suggest it for here:

In Global Agenda, whenever a guild-member acquired in-game currency. The Guild Leader (Agencies, in Global Agenda) acquired a fixed percentage of whatever the guild-member acquired (typically through PvP, because it was a 95% PvP game). Let me be clear, this was not a tax but strictly a bonus for being a Guild Leader.

For Spiral Knights, instead of presenting just added wealth for the Guild Leader, I would suggest instead a GUILD BANK that only the leader and officers could use that the additional duplicated crowns would go to instead. The GUILD BANK could only purchase items from a GUILD STORE. Crowns that are acquired only from the game itself (PVP winnings, Coins picked up in the Clockworks) should be added to the GUILD BANK as opposed to Vendors, the Auction House or Bartering.

Not just crowns could go to the GUILD BANK either. Every time players acquire minerals or tokens, duplicates could also be added towards the GUILD BANK. This could add certain goals and objectives for guilds. For example, if an item from the GUILD STORE requires say... 400 duplicated Bark Modules, the guild as a whole can work at running Roarmulous Twins for a week to acquire that item. I think it would be interesting if a guild required a lot of the Yellow Mineral for an item and guild-members had to make choices between a small yellow mineral their guild needs and a larger green mineral that produces more personal wealth.

In a system like this, balancing the pricing of items could be extremely difficult and I don't think I have played the game nearly enough to take a shot at it. If this idea is picked up I well let more experienced minds figure it out.

As an additional thought, I would think that all Guild Members, maybe not Recruits should at least be able to see the contents of the GUILD BANK even though they cannot use those funds.

GUILD STORE SUGGESTIONS:

- Costumes Costumes Costumes! It is important to make sure that you do not allow larger guilds to get a leg up on non-guilded people. To this end, the GUILD STORE could have costumes that an Officer or Leader could purchase to make available for Guild Members at a Vendor located in the Guild Hall. These costumes, I think, should be customizable. The tools are already present when a new Spiral Knight is created. You can select different models and different colours. In this way, a guild can purchase a 'guild uniform' costume to promote unity and recognizability beyond the text underneath a player name.

- Guild Hall Decorations! Being able to customize the Guild Hall is something a lot of people have been asking for.

- BOUND Recipes! I think it would be neat to have a Guild Hall Vendor be able to stock (at normal price) a recipe that has been purchased from the GUILD STORE. These recipes would need to be instantly BOUND to the buyer such that Auction House shenanigans couldn't take place. If considered overpowered, these recipes might only be stocked for a limited time to still make it viable. One thing a lot of guilds are doing is having their members "look out" for certain recipes on runs, this is an idea that could bring Basil to the guild for commonly requested recipes.

- GUILD EMBLEM: In almost every game I have ever played in with guilds. The guild is allowed a guild emblem, I really can't believe Spiral Knights does not have this. Maybe it's because they need somewhere to display it like...

- COSTUME SHIELDS: This is the only piece of armor (kinda) that you can't place a costume for. I understand not wanting to allow Costume Weapons, since it is important to players to distinguish between them on the fly, both for PvP and PvE, but as shields have no place in PvP and cannot be switched in PvE I think GUILD EMBLEM COSTUME SHIELDS would look pretty spiffy. I mean, one thing about all the NPC Knights scattered throughout the game is that they all have their emblem shields, denoting their allegiance.

Comments and Critiques would be appreciated.

These ideas are great, I hope

These ideas are great, I hope the suggestions from the initial post would be added at the very list. Not sure if this was listed, but I would also like it if you could choose to login at the guild hall as well. Let's just hope these aren't falling on deaf ears.

Better put in my thoughts.

I really think that that whole 'duplicate' thing would be a bit... How can I put this? What you are doing is telling a person that if they eat a smaller cake rather than the big cake, they can have their cake, yet also contribute to unlocking an even bigger cake.
I think it would be better if you could tell them that they could forego having any cake in order to unlock the bigger cake. This would really make people think about their cake
P.S. (Replace Cake with x)

Also, considering the amount of threads that there are about the Guild Hall, I think it's inevitable that OOO is going to release an update concerning the Guild-Hall. But they sure are going to take their sweet time with it. Just wait. It'll come out eventually by itself. Forcing it won't do anything. It will go in it's own time.

I skimmed through this, didn't read everyone's message all the way but your post is basically what I was gonna say. Guilds took both Energy and Crowns to make. And one of my first MMOs was Guild Wars, where you had a Guild Hall that was upgraded through purchases. So possibly take that sort of aspect for the Guild Hall to where you have to purchase upgrades for it may be a good alternative. Using both types, possible higher emphasis on CE to make it more profitable for OOO (I understand player rage from CE everything, but they have to make money... That's the point of designing a game...)

Anyways, I just wanted to put my bit of opinion in there on just thinking things should be purchased as expansion, whatever those expansions may be. Whether they be Elevator Gates to the Clockworks, Vendors, etc, just make players strive for them and reward hard working guilds.

RE: 91

That's basically what we are going for. Of course the price is up to OOO to set. If they use CE then that will raise the price of it, CR will add a crown sink (But chances are that it will be insane amounts of CR needed to unlock something.

Long Story Short: We agree that the guild will need to pay to get these things. How and by paying what is another matter.

Hmm...

Officers and up is more reasonable. If they were to make it and give it to guildies, yes.

Blargh

I mentioned something like this on a video that showed off what a Guild Hall looked like on youtube. Reading some of the ideas on this made me think more on the topic. The idea about using heat as a means to customize a Guild Hall, not bad. They could probably put in something like a "Guild Level" which gives the Guild access so Guild Hall upgrades like the aforementioned furniture, background and flooring. This cabinet that I'm reading about in this thread (dunno if it's real or not, not in a guild) could be replaced with a special "Guild Hall Alchemy Machine" that had recipes for said goodies that can be used to customize the Guild Hall with more recipes being available as the Guild gains Levels. A "Guild Storage" could be added as well for members to donate CE and Crowns that the Guild can use to make said items.

I've added the idea of Guild Flags being transferred onto Tabards and given to each member as a Costume. How they are given out is a problem. Can only the GM(s) so it? The Officers? Do you need to unlock something first?
