-.- Raigaizam, where the hell r u? I can't take on the entire king Vern's army by my self... ugh... why u so lazy hosting your own RP?
The Winter Kingdom RP Discussion Thread (App here!)
Magic space binoculars, obviously! And I was presuming she looked different due to being joined with the Apocrea.
Midnight, you have the most obnoxious, obtrusive, pugnacious attitude that I have ever seen on the Internet. Are you determined to be an absolute fool?
I'm glad this is doing so well, but we really need to... "Cooperate" in some fashion. We are playing a squad after all.
So... I'd like to ask Raigaizam this; Do you truly have the free time to be a GM for The Winter Kingdom?
Also, the first attack's not supposed to succeed right? In which case, I along with some others shall become a slave of Verne's.
I think we are all in the same fort*.
*Or at least, most of us.
U1 is the result of King Verne's project to create Swarm-enhanced super soldiers. He has a platoon of them guarding the castle. These "Void Warriors" are famously loyal and fearsome, renowned for their prowess in nearly any military activity.
These soldiers are not enhanced physically, though. Bonding with the Swarm allows you access to its telepathic network, which works more or less like a miniature internet, and grants you the ability to communicate sensory and thought information to anyone in the network from any distance. It also grants you access to the innermost thoughts of the Swarm itself, which can be useful in some cases.
One of the main risks of Swarm-bonding is that if it fails, you simply become infected by it and eventually consumed.
@Ironic perhaps you should see some of Midnight's more... stranger... artwork
I guess I'll be captured too, since I have nothing to do :P
You DO realize that Joley just barged into the King's castle, which is swarming with guards?
@Thinslayer You showed that map of the area in the RP thread why?
"Rasfie [scaled] the wall of the castle...and immediately saw [Beck]."
After scaling the wall, the only thing you'll immediately see is another stone wall, and probably some of Verne's guards too.

Rasfie saw Midnight, not Beck -_-
Rasfie started scaling the wall of the castle to where Saboteur went, and immediantly saw Saboteur covered in obsidian shards.
Void soldierS.
Meaning more than one.
*Whistles Casually*
@Colray: There's a hallway blocking your view. Fix your post, Please.
Hey Ironic-Biscuit, There is no duo anymore. Beck left U1 and is somewhere else.
Not a very detailed fight, and they are supersoldiers. Were you referring to a different duo?
Did you see their stats, posted on #162? These were Apocrean Troopers.
Troopers? Uh, well they have swordplay 0 and my character has swordplay 10 so I figured it wouldn't be much of a fight in the confined quarters.
Midnight, you have the most obnoxious, obtrusive, pugnacious attitude that I have ever seen on the Internet. Are you determined to be an absolute fool?
Are you sure about that? Please revisit tumblr and then you can make a statement. What I meant by metagame is that in a RP, a player is constantly trying to work towards an achievment and give his/her own character rediculous power ups and upgrades to basically pummel through the obstacles, so you jumping into the castle on your second post in this RP and already tries to kill someone is counted as metagaming. And the same could be said about thin, where the hell did the void warrior come from? I thought U1 is the only void warrior out there.
He was commenting on your comment that showed impatience and etc. in the post before his. (See Comment 152)
Please read them both in order to see what he thought when reading that comment.
Thank you.
No, if you look at the title of comment#154, it says 'meta game award', yes, I made that comment on the official RP story thread about his action which is for the most part, metagaming. And he uses those things to insult me, I am just pointing out the rules, as much of a killjoy as that might be, rules are rules, I can ride a raindow unicorn and kill Vern with the power of love, but I didn't, coz that would be metagaming.
I don't really pay attention to titles. However, I think that he just put that as a side note about your in(Game) actions.
Nonetheless, It does not change my opinion on the matter.
Edit: Ironice? You've got to be kidding me man. *Facepalm*
Also... I REALLY don't care about the metagaming right now.
You may as well shoot one of my characters in the face with a lazer beam, And I would still not give a shit about it.
Honestly, stop fighting.
Biscuit, don't be rude. Insults= Bad Blood.
Don't ruin this RP.
If you'll read my character app again, you'll see that it strongly suggests that U1 is not the only Void/Apocrean warrior, particularly in one of the latter lines (she is the "only one" to volunteer for the "program", suggesting that others were unwillingly drafted).
PLEASE tell me there's something I can do. I am FILLED with RAGE at Assassin's Creed right now. I'm at one of the last segments, And it is pissing me off to no end.
About a hundred guards surrounding me, as I fail fail fail fail fail fail fail, and die die die die die die die and die.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH.
ROT IT TO HELL!
Easy Solution: Do a barrel roll!
(But seriously, uhhh, use stealth?)
USE STEALTH? THIS IS THE NON STEALTHY PART OF THE GAME! THE CLIMAX!
Anyway, I got past that part. I had to knock over the leader after defeating his 100 minions.
Right now though, I'm fighting the Assassin Leader.
DUN DUN DUNNN- Blah blah, SPOILERS leader is templarz.
anyway. I'll see you all once I'm done kicking the shit out of him's. (Multiple, Even though there's one. Don't ask)
BLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH.
There ya go. I'm free of Assassin Jobbery. The game has been beaten. So... Now what?
So... You're implying you're a part of the Epsilon Squad, or were?
;P
U1 is unaffiliated with Epsilon Squad.
Draw what conclusions you may. ;)
Saboteur is tackled down into a wine celler on the inner side of the castle wall, you can't help him now as he is captured, unless of course, you jump into the cell to rescue him and probably ask him what happend to the real Naige while you are at it.
You'll get your chance... Soon.
Also, even though I didn't say this many hours ago: Nice... Appearance?
At strength 5, I find it hard to believe that Joley could tear herself free from TWO strength 10 soldiers.
At dexterity 10, I find it hard that they could grab her arms so completely, and still manage to automatically hit with their punches. Whilst unrealistic, that post was made to set things back on the course they would normally be, without your auto-hitting and godmodded troopers.
The troopers also have dexterity 10. They have her cornered, they're stronger than she is, as smart as she is, as fast as she is, and they outnumber her. They aren't god modded, either; they abide by the same 35-point rules as everyone else, and are only as successful as is plausible. Why shouldn't auto-hits be acceptable when they are the only plausible outcome? It's your character, not mine, that's being god modded.
The troopers also have dexterity 10.
Which, if you take this statement on it's own, is ridiculous. You have an army of player characters... overpowered.
They have her cornered.
Untrue.
They're stronger than she is,
This is a true statement, yes.
as smart as she is
Also ridiculous, you have an army of freaking bada$$es? Thinslayer, this is ridiculous. You have invented a weird type of enemy and made them as strong as a player character.
As smart as she is,
Every play an ACTUAL RPG with paper and pen? This isn't an intelligence roll, bucko. That statement was gratuitous.
They aren't god-modded, either;
For an army of disposable castle guards, these guys are comically overpowered. You have essentially spammed the character creation process, making yourself invincible. Classy.
They abide by the same 35-point rules as everyone else.
Which is a HUGE mistake. We don't need an army of player-character level soldiers to fight. If you want to play a villain, fine, just don't have these ridiculous henchmen stats.
and are only as successful as plausible.
Apparently not, Thinslayer. ALSO, you need to describe armour BEFORE I write, not after to avoid these nasty circumstances, putting you at an unfair advantage.
Why shouldn't auto-hits be acceptable when they are the only plausible outcome?
But they WEREN'T the only plausible outcome. That's the thing.
It's your character, not mine that's being god-modded.
Which is a ridiculous fallacy. The god-modding is that, you have an ARMY of characters, all as powerful as a regular player character, which you generate at will, and make the game unfair with
Reposting this since nobody seemed to care when I put it up earlier.
Name: Jurgen Vantas (PRONOUNCIATION: Yur-gan Vantas)
Gender: Male
Armor: http://fc02.deviantart.net/fs29/f/2011/063/d/1/high_tech_knight_by_vibha...
Offensive and Defensive Equipment(Weapons and Shield): Warmaster Rocket Hammer (With blue where the orange is) , Iromight Plate Shield
Bio/Personality: Jurgen was one of the original guards, and lived quite happily. He eventaully found the perfect woman, and they had a child together. Then, when the child was about 12, Verne's men, disguised like Epsilon squad troopers, brutally murdered his beloved and his progeny. This cruel trick made him lust for revenge and become even more committed to the king, the anger still burning bright in his heart. Now, years later, the lust has dulled, although he still wishes to see Epsilon dead. Noone has ever heard Jurgen speak, except for his late wife and child, and his few friends. Thus, nobody except those people know if he is actually mute or not. Addiationally, although he appears calm, his helmet diguises a great sadness, due to the deaths of those closest to him. Now, I'd liek to remind you, that just because he is a guard does not mean that he is heartless. He is kind to the men on his side, like a gentle giant (this is literal, as he is HUGE) but equally merciless to his enemies.
Position: One of Verne's 3 Personal Guards
Stats(I am granting 35 points to spend in any categories you like. 10 points max each category!)
Gunning: 1
Swordplay: 10
Bombing: 1
Strength: 10
Intelligence: 10
Dexterity/Speed: 3
@ Colray
It is the only way to make an RP plausible. A boss fight could be slightly more powerful, but the average henchman should NEVER be as powerful as the players.
@ Thinslayer
I fail to see why the NPC troops must always be weaker than player characters. And I don't think you'll be complaining about their strength when they ultimately switch sides in the end (as planned). They're not disposable guards; these are U1's personal hitmen, and there are only about 32 of them in the whole castle. Three of them are present in the interrogation room. King Verne DOES have disposable guards, but these aren't them.
And they DO have her cornered. She's in a frikkin' interrogation room, for crying out loud! With no less than FOUR opposing individuals present! Dude, she's cornered. There are no two ways about it.
EDIT: I'll take a look at the link you posted.
Might as well just play from my post, considering as you won't see my point of view, and I think your's is silly.
Hey, don't be like that. I'm half-inclined to offer some concessions once I've had a good look at the article you provided.
My tentative thoughts:
*U1's guards are overpowered, as you claim. I may concede this point.
*Joley is cornered. I cannot concede this point.
They are overpowered, even 32 of them with player stats is overpowered. I recommend they have 20-25 stat points instead of 35
I concede Joley is cornered, but I do not concede that the hits were the only plausible outcome. I probably would have taken one, and dodged one, for the purpose of fairness.
Maybe it would help if I shared the intended story.
U1 is under a crapton of pressure to deliver results to King Verne. She is a double-agent; her goal is to depose King Verne, but she believes that the only way to do so is to stay close to him, which means working for him and making plausible progress. She intends to deliver Joley to Verne in order to bolster his trust in her, but at the same time, she doesn't feel right letting Joley get killed (or worse) should the King figure out her mission or ever doubt that the capture is real. To pull off this stunt, she needs Joley to be a bona fide enemy while simultaneously having her cooperation.
EDIT: Stupid autocorrect. "Bona fide," not "Nina fide".
So I can't act on that information without being told in game. That would be metagaming.
I'm not asking you to metagame. I shared this with you to relieve potential fears about my intentions regarding your character. I wanted to assure you that my only goal is to further the story, not to "win" anything. I wouldn't be beating up Joley if I didn't have a good story behind it.
Whoops, double post.
