It was a really short walk

"Meh.. place doesn't really look like much." Ares said. He had just reached the arrangement of pods and was staring at the forest on the other side, looking a a certain purplish haze that seemed to reside in the trees.
"Wonder what's over there?" he pondered. "Maybe we should check it out later."

Chomp was excited at the new environment, sniffing everywhere, flying ahead, scouting, loosing random Firebolts. He growled happily as they moved through the complex.

"Where is everybody though? And where's their food store? I really hope they have a food store," Ares said. Ares continued to wander through the complex, uttering the occasional:

"Hellooo?"

Auto watched the Caite leave as the elevator went down.
"I would start praying to the Core right now, unless you believe in Almire's Gods."
He sat on the elevator, and began to chant something in coherent.

Lyn's here too!

Lyn looked up at the slowly shrinking light of the last depth... "So, anyone have any idea where," Lyn felt a shadowy hand grab her.
"Hello again," the phantom Lyn fought ages ago was back, suddenly Lyn was on the surface.... without Swarmbane.
"Crap, only my Tundrus," Lyn looked around, she was on a relatively uncorrupted part of the surface. It was, her old house...
Back on the elevator Lyn collapsed into a heap.
(Lyn is just lost in her memories, not actually on the surface)

"Son of a btch," Caite swore,

"Son of a btch," Caite swore, as the elevator shaft she had just climbed off snapped shut behind her.

And then it reopens again in the next second, signalling a shift in the clockworks.

"Dammit!" she yells out angrily, "now I have to wait here for the hate to change again."

And so Caite takes this moment to rest by lying down on the ground. She hasn't had a chance to just lie down and take it easy since the Tortodrone fight.

"....I just need a power nap. Wake me up in half an hour Doomgod."

I can't move Keep for obvious reasons. I can't move Escha either till someone moves Strom to react to her ice trap.

It's so lonely...

"Dammit Chomp noone's here," Ares fumed. He vented his frustrations by kicking random pebbles. Chomp was tired, he was in no mood to cure Ares's tantrums, which had become increasingly frequent ever since they had woken up. It was something he didn't understand, or like. Whenever Ares got angry there was something in it that made his gears grind. But there was time to focus on that later, Ares was deciding what they were going to do now.

"Back at the Jelly Palace, we left that alchemy machine and that elevator. The elevator seems to be hotwired to a particular floor, because the shaft keeps moving and going back to the same floor. I could probably rewire it to this floor, for easy access," Ares contemplated. A white (icy?) shimmering distracted him for a second, and then he felt a mental tug to the area.

*Fool. Take the supplies you can find here, it's obviously deserted.* an errant thought crossed his mind.

*What? No. No way, i'm here to help them and myself, not just me.*

*You are weak, relinquish your goodwill and learn to survive.* came the arrogant, condescending, scoffing retort.

*Who are you?* Ares inquired.

*Me? I am Ares.* was the reply.

After that monologue, Ares had decided to go back to base. He could hotwire the elevator, he knew he could. He could fix the alchemy machine and fix it up as a sub base, fortified with dead jellies. It seemed you could never have too many safe havens in the Clockworks nowadays. Scanning the floors on his com unit, to make it back to his elevator, he would first have to go to the elevator he came from, which now led to a Devilite floor (the floors had shifted quite quickly this time) and then he could get to base. And barring any unforeseen circumstances, this floor pattern would hold for the next 16 hours, so that should give him enough time to deal with any unforeseen circumstances. He looked to consult Chomp, but saw that the little Drakon had drifted off to sleep, it had been a long day. So Ares tucked him in his helmet, and set back towards the elevator, away from the forest, away from the shimmering, and away from that curious mental pull.

***

After reaching the next floor, Ares saw the same knight who he saw making his/her way up the shaft. To his delight, he saw it actually was a girl, or, the less pleasing possibility, it was a male who seemed to think wearing dresses was the way to go. What she was doing with a Tortodrone shell was beyond him however. He would've stopped to leave a message but the Drakon (who didn't remember Ares) eyed him with an air of menace, and Ares was not in the mood to start an unnecessary fight. He walked on. Equipped with his Mega Magnus and Flamberge, the Devilites were cake. He just cut his way right through them. It seemed they had received no powerups from the Swarm, for reasons beyond Ares's knowledge for the moment. However, he let himself get too carried away.
He was taking on a mob currently. He had opted to start from the lowest rankers, as they annoyed him to no avail. He ducked and weaved through office supplies, burning and piercing through his opposition with ease. The regular Devilites began to realise the level of threat they were dealing with and flew to a corner.
"Too easy," Ares grinned. He charged the Mega Magnus, and loosed a volley of shots into the corner. He was so preoccupied with this however, he forgot about the Overtimers. Not one, not two, not three ((Miami Heat - 2010) , not four, but five tritons struck him, one for each limb, and the neck. Ares's gasp of pain was cut short by a book to the face. Shooting wildly now, the Devilites approached more cautiously, backing away from the shots and into an area with spacing. What they did not realise was that Ares was herding them. He had woken up Chomp, and was preparing the maneuver he had envisioned in this type of situation. Once they were all in the same corner, Chomp used the "Ring of Fire" on the Devilites, trapping them in the circle. Ares was now essentially shooting ducks in a barrel. Except these ducks shot back. After flipping diagonally through two tritons, he slipped on the landing and got struck by the third. The overwhelming shadow damage he had taken caused him to snap. Chomp saw Ares's eyes flash purple and backed away.

Chomp watched Purple-Eyes (Ares) slowly pull his Flamberge out and let out a low, guttural roar of anger. He slipped through the embers of the ring of fire and make shish-kebabs of the first three Devilites in his path. The speed Purple-Eyes displayed was unnatural. He dodged a triton that was in front of his face, ducked down to avoid an office supply thrown at the same time and somehow, in the process of bending, had ran to the empty part of the corner. What happened next was a brute display of force. Without charging the Flamberge, he swung it like a Calibur, and the flames generated completely incinerated the 12 Devilites (including the Fire-Resistant ones), leaving nothing but ash. Even the materials were scorched.

Purple-Eyes stood alone, victorious.
"Come, Chomp," he commanded. They took a path which led to the Devilite summoning marks, and Purple-Eyes had seemingly developed an instant headache. His eyes switched from purple to blue, and he clutched his head, screaming. At points he had attempted to kill himself, drawing the Avenger and levelling it to his throat. Chomp kept his focus on his master's eyes. Blue, purple, blue, purple, blue, purple, blue. There was a flash across his eyes, in an attempt at rebuttal it seemed, but the blue eyes, and Ares, seemed to have regained control. And then Ares promptly passed out. Chomp kept watch, determined not to let any harm come to his master while he was this vulnerable.

Return of the King.

A wolver with an ice rune on her back walked up to the summoning marks. She had a Drakon, Seraphyx, and Maskeraith with her.
The summoning marks began to glow purple, red, purple, red. A devilite pushed a single stone statue into formation, and a red portal opened from the marks turning red. A white clothed leg, and a black clothe leg walked out, followed by two tall knights, one in a Snarbolax Helm and Shadowsun slicker, the other with a Sklover Cap in a Deadshot mantle.
The wolver barked happily at the men.
"Back from Hell." Said the dark one.
"And, with new powers." Said the light one.
There were colored crystals on their backs.
The Seraphyxn went to the light one, the Makseraith the dark one, the Drakon stayed with the wolver.

Lightshow

Ares hadn't stayed down nearly as long as the last time he had passed out, thankfully. He remembered his escapade as what Chomp referred to as Purple-Eyes in a hazy, violent dream. He wasn't proud of this, as he had given in to the voice in his head calling him weak, and when he got hit by the triton, his consciousness slipped for a moment, and that was all the new voice needed to seize control. He had realized that the voice got more powerful with the influence of shadows, and so he switched his Drake Scale Helm for the Angelic Helm, and wore it with his Scary Skelly Suit. He kept the Wise Owlite Shield in an attempt to have some coverage however.
He finished changing just in time to see the lightshow. The summoning marks were having their own little Underworld 4th of July. Purple, red, purple, then red, then purple, then red all over again. He signaled to Chomp to follow him, and stalked through the passage along the summoning marks. He arrived at a clearing to see an Ice Wolver (food) and a Devilite. He took out the Magnus, barely registering the statue the Devilite was pushing, and fired. It barely missed the Devilite, and then Ares saw what it was doing. It pushed a single stone statue into some sort of formation, and the red marks opened a red portal in the ground.

"Holy sh-," Ares muttered, in awe of the spectacle. Then he saw a white clothed leg, and a black clothed leg step out, and two of the tallest knights he had ever seen stepped out of the portal. And to top of the level of bizarreness, the Wolver was barking at them like it was some sort of pet. Not to mention the three battle sprites that were just floating there.

"Back from Hell." Said the dark one.
"And, with new powers." Said the light one.

Ares's mind was blown. But first, he had to stop this Devilite before it summoned an enemy. He fired three quick shots, killing the Devilite, and then stepped out from the shadows.

"Hi. i'm going to go ahead and ask if you come in peace," he said meekly, with his empty palms facing them.

Who goes there!?

The Light Part saw the devilite get shot by magnus bullets and drew a Divine Avenger and Argent Peacemaker at once.
The Dark Part turned towards Ares' voice, pulling out a Gran Faust and Seteneza.
"Oh. A fellow knight. Forgive me." He sheathed his weapons.
"This Gremlins were summoning Trojans, I hijacked their, uh, what was it?"
"Infernal portal." Replied the Light Part.
"Yeah. I made a jump through one of their portal into Hell. Had to go from Hell, into the Apcrea Realm, into the land where the Trojans come from, just to get back here." The Dark Part continued.
The Light Part turned towards Ares. "Now to call Spiral Uplink... Why is there no contact?"
The Wolver ran towards the Light Part and rubbed against him.

Ahhh..how to explain...

Ares, shuffled nervously in place. This was a tough memory for him to relive, but Purple-Eyes seemed to glorify it. Shaking his head vigorously, he cleared the lump in his throat and began his briefing.

"Well you see, sir, about a year ago, the dark entity known as The Swarm collected its power, possessed a large horde of monsters and attacked, and succesfully took over Haven. I do not know exactly what has happened in the months since the initial attack, as I have just come to consciousness not long ago. From what I have seen though, surviving sane knights are scattered throughout the Clockworks, surviving wherever and however they can. I also know that the Apocrea you mentioned seem to be performing rituals with presumably knights in the Clockworks. There also seems to be a shadow group called the Caina, but I have seen no evidence of that sir," Ares said.

Nervously, he kicked a pebble. Purple-Eyes cackled at Ares's moment of weakness. Ares massaged his head in an attempt at relief.

(At Auto)
Auto sat on the elevator.
"So, we ever gonna get off this thing?"

(At the Dark Gunner.)
"Haven, taken over? Fantastic!" Said the Dark Part.
Light Part's face became strained. "Don't do this!"
Dark part pulled out the Gran Faust in a flash and knocked Light Part away in a Trojan style charge.
"Now, to summon some allies."
Dark Part ran off, the Wolver and Maskeraith going towards Light Part.
"Perfect, he's going to summon an army of Dark Trojans and Hellify them." Light Part yelled to Ares.

"Perfect, he's going to summon an army of Dark Trojans and Hellify them." Light Part yelled to Ares.

Ares was confused, if the Dark Part was running away from here, where was he going to attack. Didn't he need the devilite summoning things anyway? And on top of that..

"What about you? What are you going to do?" he asked the Light Knight (yes, that was intentional).

"Simple. Raise an army of constructs and take back the Clockworks. Any Knights welcome to join me!"
He raised his Divine Avenger.
"That, and start my own army of Trojans."
The Wolver jumped in front and bite the air, the Drakon went to his left and prepared a fire ball, the Sephyranx went behind him and prepared a laser, and the Makseraith was gone.

I wish.. I just like rhyming whenever I can

Ares was lost. That was putting it mildly. Here he was thinking he had two new allies, and now each of them were trying to take over the Clockworks. The Light one seemed noble enough, but even if Ares would attempt to join him, Purple-Eyes vehemently opposed him, and pointed him to the dark one instead, which of course Ares vehemently opposed.

*Purple-Eyes?*
*You mean Ares* came the reply.
*There is no way you are me, we are too different.* Ares snapped.
*Are we really?* came the retort.
Ares sighed. *We're going to have to settle this, but later.*
*Agreed, you're misusing this body and its potential power. You are too weak to survive here.*

Shaking his head, he figured he'd need to carry that Tortodrone shell holding knight off this floor. If those two were going to be summoning Trojans, they needed a Devilite floor, and Ares saw no reason why they would leave this one. Wearily, he found his way back to the girl knight and her drakon. Chomp explained the situation to the Drakon, and it left Ares to his devices, while still keeping a wary eye on him. Ares hit the Tortodrone shell with a weightlessness beam (which would take about 8 hours to recharge) and strapped it to his back like a hammock. He had the drakons put the knight in the shell and started to make his way to his base at the Jelly Palace.

***
Ares arrived at the base uninterrupted somehow. He hoped the knight woke up soon because he didn't want to leave her asleep, but if he had to he would. He needed to clear his mind, it had been non-stop madness since he woke up.

*Welcome to Cradle, post-Spiral era.* This thought came from both consciousnesses.
*See? We're not so different.* Purple-Eyes said.

With that grim thought, Ares set to work on the elevator.

@Tech-Star: I'll be busy for the rest of the night and a good part of tomorrow, so you have some time to make your next moves. By the time i'm back I think Almond-Riddle will have woken up Caite.

Chaos Unifcation!

Light Part looked at the Wolver, who scampered off with the Drakon towards an elevator.
Light Part pulled out his Argent Peacemaker, and wandered around, resurrecting Trojan statues and making them glow white on the crystal and blades. Soon he had a small army of sorts.

Dark Part however, was already calling more and turning them into Darkfire Trojans. Shadow damage, Dread, and Fire all in one enemy.

Totally forgot Escha did that. I'll react on that momentarily.

@Ares-Hsg
Wouldn't Caite's Drakon have done... SOMETHING to stop you from moving her sleeping body? It would have woken her up, at least.
Unless it was completely trusting, fell asleep with her -- both of which would have had to have been indicated by Keepscaite before acted upon.
Also, how long would it take for Ares to get back to the Jelly area? Remember, moving places takes time and if we don't keep track of it, it'll mess the whole RP up sooner or later; it'll be day for one RP'r and night for another with 2 days apart on their calenders -- and then all time-hell will break loose.]]

---------------
Strom:

As Strom had only run a short while with his Épée orbited around him before he encountered the trap. He had been anticipating a surprise assault. Strom had been in more than one surprise attack while he was alive, and it was well engraved into his mind that desperate people do crazy things -- that's partially how he died, after all. The "partial" coming from the fact that it was also the fault of his murder's insanity.

Memories come flooding into Strom's mind of the days he had been living -- only for a striking pain to erupt from deep within.

"Ǥħ..!"
"Gh..!" A tearing grunt escapes Strom as he partially cringes while running. The pain was getting worse, the need for "materials" eating on his conscience as the Book of the Swarm opened its eye -- as if whipping the phantom into submission for that which it desired.

The momentary pain causes Strom to head into Escha's trap without any problem, and it quickly activates.

Frost pours over Strom's body and over his armor, the Book of the Swarm uses its opened eye to transfer the effects of the freezing over to Strom's own, causing quite a bit of discomfort. The freeze also stops Strom's Épée, causing it to stab into the ground as its levitation comes under the effects of gravity. But not for long.

Swarm energy erupts from the blade like an inferno, a pillar of corruption seeping from the magenta edge upwards and downwards, and thawing out the sword itself with little to no delay. The ground around the blade seems to grow dark as its influence seeps into the dirt.
The sword then floats a moment, the small eyes on its hilt peering around, looking for... Something. Whether it was for the attacker, or a solution to its Master's frozen-captivity was anyone's guess.

Despite the clear use of Swarm Energy, the Sword itself didn't seem to suffer any change in its behavior, and without any direction from its master at all, it approaches his armor, and scrapes at the frost, using its edge to make friction in order to defrost its imprisoned companion.

less than 10 seconds later, Strom's eye had been effectively defrosted, and he gathers the Swarm eyes he had dispersed close to him, creating a circle with them, which rotated mid-air. Little to nothing would escape the rotating sphere's notice. The sphere expands as it turns, gaining speed to close in the gaps between each individual eye -- the movement does not seem to influence the movement of the air, however, so not movement of dirt or other foliage is beyond that which it would normally produce.

The Épée continues working on its master's armor, checking his Swarm eye with its own every couple of seconds -- as if anticipating a signaling of where an enemy target may be lying in wait.

Strom will probably be able to move (with sleight discomfort, and a couple of still-frozen appendages) in as little as 30 seconds, with a maximum of 1m 30sec.

---------------
Pippin:
As Pippin approaches the good-smelling stand, she looks towards the merchant first. This time, it was a merchant. He was quite skinny, but his muscles could be seen from beneath his fur. Whether that's because there was little to no fat/skin between his outer layer of fur and his muscles remained to be seen -- but it wouldn't be uncommon.

Pippin looks towards the crowd again. It could be seen plainly. While armor and clothing could cover most signs of malnourishment, it couldn't hide them all, and as a Combat Chef trained to feed her fellow knights, the signs among the crowd was as obvious as a Wolver's desire to eat a freshly baked Steak. The only knights that weren't going hungry appeared to be merchants... Same with the Gremlin population. So why would this particular Gremlin not fill himself with his profits?

As if to answer her question, an older Gremlin walked forward and whacked a wooden spoon against the younger one's wrists with an audible *crack*, much to the displeasure of the boy, who gave a short whimper, but then continued adding ingredients to the soup.

"Hello there, Miss. No need to mind the boy, I'd have him in the back, but there's not enough space here, see?" The older gremlin, a female by the lighter grumble present in her voice, motioned to the sides of the stall. She seemed well-fed, a bit plump, even. I suppose that solves the mystery of why the boy wasn't fully fed -- this woman must have been eating both of their helpings! She then pushes the boy to the side and continues his work, taking a couple of spices from a pouch she had at her hip, and adding some to the soup with a small flair.

"I'd put on more of a pleasant look if you'd have just let me take my break an hour ag--" She snaps the spoon on her hand -- er -- paw to cut the boy off.

"Cut your yapping! You'll have a break when I say you'll have one! Now make yourself useful and prepare the containers!" With that, the boy quickly gets to work behind her, organizing small crate-like objects only a small amount larger than the bowls on the table.

"So, care to have a taste?" She adds with a wink after finishing her garnering. The leaves, judging by their color, were just regular tree-leaves, partially dried at that. Did she think that she could fool Pippin with such unnecessary theatrics?

"... Sure... Yeah. I was more interested in the food, anyways." It wasn't a complete lie -- Pippin was led here by the smell.

The Gremlin smiled greedily at her reply; "Well, we have the finest soup in this entire dome! It'll be 300cr per bowl," she then motions behind her at the pile of small boxes, each one with a different size and color -- two of which had a familiar green emblem on them -- "full containers cost 600cr. Buy three, get the last one half off! So," the gremlin winks, "what'll it be?"

Pippin paused a moment at the question, looking over to the boy for less than a moment. He had turned his back on the stall, and was gingerly sorting the boxes, as if to make the sales-pitch sounded like a better deal than it was.

Pippin contemplates the worth of the soup before remembering that she had just been asked a question. If she stood there much longer, the emblem-imbued containers could go into the hands of some random onlooker, and Food was on the self-made list of things needed for the journey.

Pippin lets out a sigh, then motions towards the two cooking-emblem containers, then to another slightly larger container. The cost was clearly a rip-off, but there wasn't anything to be done for it.

"Those two, and that one." After the gremlin-cook nods, she shouts back something in gremlin-tongue to the boy -- some sort of spiting command, by the looks of how he cringed. She then proceeds to pour the soups into the containers one by one.

Once she was done, Pippin handed over the necessary 900cr and took the three containers. She'd put the two emblem-holding containers in her SMC later, but it would probably be better to do that in a more secluded area. Attention in a place like this probably wouldn't be the greatest idea. Before leaving, she casts a look towards the male gremlin at the stand.

Overworking... Malnourishment... Emberlight wasn't the same refuge for the Gremlins as it once had been, it seemed.

Well I decided to call it a night a little early

@Ember-break

I went off the assumption that the drakon remembered me from when it came to me and my drakon on the Tortodrone floor. I also asked my drakon to talk to it. It is kind of iffy on the whole controlling the other characters thing, i'm not quite sure how I treaded that line. Anyways, it won't take long because he's using the com link currently. He knows where everything goes. If you want an estimate, say 15 minutes, (like when you're doing an actual level in SK). I figured it would be in the best interests though. Ares is connecting his elevator to the campsite, which is where Caite wants to go. Plus I wanted to give the Light and Dark knights the floor for a while.. so..yea..

Btw who gets Strom? I would've volunteered, but you had named a list so I worked with that.

Uuuuuuhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

...Okay. Where do I begin?

First of all,

Caite is not in a Devilite level. She was in a compound level, and tHEN the elevator shifts.

So here's how I imagine it worked,

>Ares at compound level
>Caite climbs back to compound level
>Ares goes to camp
>Gate switch
>Ares goes back down to a Devilite level
>Caite is still in the compound level, taking a nap

So I think the two should be in two entirely different maps.

And also, Caite is no longer holding onto the Tortodrone. She left most of it in the elevator, but she does have it's arm though.

So uh.... What do I do with Caite now?
---

Escha sees her trap activate and quickly float away as fast as her anti-gravity gear allows her. Which is, about as fast as a knight's running speed.

She heads towards the camp, or more precisely, towards Isphea and Keep.

Of whom her location I do not know!

Chaos Unification

Light Part had a size able amount of white Trojans, about five, following him. They destroyed any Devilites they encountered before coming to a fiery part of the Devilite level, Dark Part was operating purple and red portals, it seemed not only drawing more Trojans into the Clockworks, but transforming them as well. Large, T3 but covered in a cloak of black fire.
Light apart whistled, Dark Part turned around.
"Chaos Unific-"
Bang! Dark Part had shot a bullet straight through Light Part's hand, but the armor started to regenerate, while the crystal on his back glowed.
"You shot me."
"And you were trying to stop me." Dark Part replied.
Light Part and Dark Part both pulled out a crown, one part blue the other red. Both flipped their coin into the air, both landing on red.
Dark apart glowed red.
"Oh bugger!" Light Part muttered as Dark Part executed a Trojan style charge, knocking the counter part a fair distance.
Light Part found himself in a shield bubble, the Seraphyx on his shoulder. He executed a Divine Avenger charge attack follows by priming and rolling a green nitronome. Dark Part merely vanished in a red flash, followed by shattering the orange shield bubble.
"Too slow. Now get out."

[[Technically speaking, Caite wouldn't have been on the Compound floor, because the elevator shaft she was riding on was the one Gwen used. Said elevator shaft went from the Camp level aaaaaaall the way down to the Tortodrone level, as indicated in post #262.

Confusing, right? All these elevators leading to the same depth? I actually made a mock-character location post a while back... But destroyed it before it was posted because there was still a lot more work to be done on it -- despite working on the thing for almost an hour. It had other info, too... But I deleted it and didn't spare the information, so I'd have to dig it all up again. Which would defeat the purpose of deleting it in the first place. ._.

Locations, times, and other such things... They all went haywire with so many knights appearing on the same depth, and no one noticed anything was wrong. Well... I did. But seeing as you guys were RP'ing well enough, I didn't figure it was needed to mention 'till now.

This is probably going to be my last post for a week, So... Happy (early) New Years!]]

Ah whatever.

@Ember: To be fair, I noticed some discrepancies myself. But I was willing to overlook them, for the most part. Since I could always work around them. Most of the time, until now.

Ugh, let's all just pretend Caite scaled multiple levels to get back to the Compound level. Though that still doesn't change the fact that Ares should have had no way to access her level.

---
The Silken Queen had a fondness for extravagance. As such, she made her home atop the highest skyscraper available in the dark city. A penthouse suite, for her to be pampered by the Devilite servants she hired and guarded by the strongest of her Trojans.

She was in the middle of taking an indulgent break in her lavish room. Her gigantic, insectoid body sprawled on a bed that would fit even Lord Vanaduke snuggly. She had a wine glass in one of her four arms, filled with a red liquid likely to be the blood of some unfortunate knight.

her 'break' though, was abruptly interrupted by a panicked Pit Boss who bursts through her doors.

Before the Pit Boss could even say anything, the Silken Queen lets known her irritation caused by the interruption,

With a snap of her three vacant hands, the Pit Boss suddenly erupts in a flare of blue, fiendish flames. The unfortunate fiend is reduced to ash within seconds.

But alas, the poor creature had something important to say, or at least he should. And thus, the Queen uses her arcane magicks to summon the recently deceased Pit Boss' soul from the underworld.

It was a testament to her power that she could move objects through the boundary of two worlds so easily.

She commands the soul to speak.

The soul speaks of bad news. The swarm seemed to have broken through the barriers of the current level, and was now decimating the Queen's forces.

Hearing the news, the Queen sighs. Good help sure is hard to find these days, she muses.

And so, the Queen rises from her bed. The Swarm may be a powerful force,

But she herself, she was much more fearsome.
---
"Haahahahahahahahahahahaaah!" he laughs. Maniacally as always, as he cleaves the head of another fleeing knight, "come on come on come on! Is that it?! Is THIS the best the Spiral Order has to offer?!"

Vargas scoffs. He picks up the head of one of the dead knights.

"And you dared to call yourself a Vanguard..." he mocks, throwing the head away.

The head flies a short ways away, landing in a pile of severed limbs and bloody carcasses.

Each of them holding the crest of a Vanguard.
---

Narwhal... was not happy.

Here, he stood, in the Royal Jelly Palace. A slave.

It was as if all the monsters suddenly gained a huge boost to their IQs. It's never been heard of before, since when were jellies smart enough to take hostages?

But regardless... They have. And now, he has to do their bidding, or else an innocent bystander will pay the price.

And to think, Narwhal was once a celebrated hero in the Spiral Order. No, not really. Technically, that was a different version of him. The him right now... he couldn't even be called a knight anymore.

Not as long as his body was that of a Jelly Cube.

A new angle

At that moment, Gwen collapsed on the elevator floor. Her silver eyes had lost their glimmer, and her skin grew paler than it had ever been. If she was dead, it was a very strange way to go.

But she had not died. Or should I say, her consciousness had not died; her body was very dead indeed. Painful as it was to abandon her avatar, she would need to craft a new one if she intended to get anywhere. That, and her telepathy amplifier needed some upgrades. And thusly Gwen slipped on her gloves, planted her pen between her teeth, and set about recalibrating the device.

Her muscles had atrophied a little from underuse; unable to loosen the bolts holding down the motherboard cover with just her wrench, she ultimately had to seek the assistance of her sledgehammer.

*clang*
*clang*

"Not the most elegant way to do things, Gwen my dear..." she said to herself as she started up the soldering iron.

Half an hour and several greasy knuckles later, she had the upgraded amplifier humming smoothly again. She fitted it on her head, flipped the switch and closed her eyes. Here goes nothing...

>>run teletransfer
Initializing variables...
Loading new program instructions...
Process complete. Begin transfer sequence? y/n
>>y
Initializing transfer sequence...

Within moments, Gwen's consciousness left her, and she arrived inside the body of a clone, free of her prison once more. She flexed her newfound muscles and tested a few of her new powers. The fireballs were forming up nicely.

Okay. This will work. Let's do this thing.

Woke up

@Almond-Riddle - Well I know how to explain it away too lol

Ares woke up.. in his base at the Jelly Palace. He looked around frantically, remembering that he was on the Devilite floor, and the knights, and the girl-

Where was the girl? She nor Tortodrone materialised in his line of sight, instead, Chomp did.

"Chomp? Where's the girl?" Ares inquired. Chomp tilted his head sideways, he was confused.
"The girl with the Tortodrone part" he said frantically. Chomp shook his head.
"What do you mean she's not here?" he replied. Chomp pointed to the elevator.
"The last time we saw her, she was out of the elevator? You mean she wasn't on the Devilite floor?" Ares asked again. Chomp shook his head.

Purple-Eyes, deep in Ares's head, cackled maniacally.
*You did this?* Ares asked him.

*It was child's play, exposing your desperate want for company. It is obvious you don't have the will to go it alone in the Clockworks, seeking companionship from knights you don't even know* Purple-Eyes replied.

Ares shook his head, he was letting Purple-Eyes, whatever it was, get to him badly.

*We will settle this very soon.* Purple-Eyes echoed his thoughts.

Ares wearily shuffled over to the elevator and began working on it. Chomp eyed him sadly.. his master was losing control.

The emergency meeting

"My lord Creos, there has been a..." Oracle attempted to say.

"Silence you fool! Have I not ever told you not to speak unless spoken to? And why in the world are you coming two days early to the meeting? Is something wrong? If there is what? You have my permission to speak." The being known as Creos lengthily replied.

"Your lordship, we have received news of a new resident who is currently residing at the top of the tallest tower in Haven. She is known as the Silken Queen. Another being (or two beings?) known as the Dark Gunner is raising an army of Trojans for an unknown reason. I have also heard tell of Vargas, a betrayer of the Spiral Order. I think he could potentially be a powerful pawn if you were the master of him. I would be a fool to believe that all these new denizens had come here to simply watch you fulfill your goals. I think that one of them, if not all, may try to conquer your new kingdom."

"Oracle, when I told you that you could speak, I believe I didn't mean for you to make a speech."

"Pardon me master, but the some of the remaining knights may be of interest, like your old friend Scorpio.

This seemed to really tick off Creos. He had already been awoken in the middle of the day, been called up to the meeting room like a servant, had one of his most pathetic underlings talk back to him, and now the name of his friend had been mentioned , the name he specifically said to each of his followers to never say. Creos had had enough.

"Oracle, do you know what I do to disobedient followers?" Creos asked his follower politely.

"N-no sir." Oracle stammered out.

"I eat their souls. And If you want to avoid that fate, you had better follow each of my orders to the letter. Have I made myself clear?" Creos said."The meeting is to be tomorrow." Creos stated.

This is my longest post ever. Sent from my I-phone.

Just one thing what Scorpio does while I'm on vacation is scouting of Haven and other places. Since he is in feral mode he currently can stealth for much longer. After this whole thing he's probably going to go into a coma or something similar.

Eureka!

Ares had made two important discoveries in the few hours he had left the Devilite floor:

1. Blast Cubes tasted awesome. (sweet and spicy) The cores were surprisingly crunchy too.
2. Jelly cubes could be killed without destroying their bodies.

The second discovery was arguably more important (arguably because the first involved food). What you did was as follows:
1. Use a shadow sword (such as a Nightblade)
2. Deliver one well placed strike, hitting the core (which serves as the nucleus of the cube). This rendered the Jelly basically brain-dead and left the body with minimal damage.

This was useful because these dead jellies seemed to have a reflexive reaction to the power that killed them, shadow being the only one powerful enough to do it in one strike. If the dead jellies exterior was exposed to the pulsating of shadow power (or maybe specifically Ares's nightblade, he hadn't tested that yet) it softened and moved away from the power. Otherwise, it was extremely hard on the outside (like a tortodrone) and retained the jelly like composure on the inside, making it an effective enough door, and sealing his base. In the space of 15 minutes, he had already acquired and arranged all the jellies he needed, and was feeling quite protected. And best of all, he accomplished this

*All on your own.* Purple-Eyes completed the sentiment. *Maybe we can get along after all.* he laughed.

Ares looked grim. He had finished working on the elevator, and the com unit told him that the shaft was fixed onto the floor where the base was, but he had yet to test it. And he had designed it to take him both ways, but had yet to know how that would work, as it did not form a third (I believe the base camp floor has two right?) elevator in that floor.

"I'll test it soon enough," Ares said, and snacked on another Blast cube. Next to the Alchemy Machine, which was warm with power since Ares began tinkering with it, Chomp was sleeping soundly.

Narwhal had to admit.... he

Narwhal had to admit.... he felt like an errand boy. These Jellies are such petty, banal bunch.

First, they made him go hunt chromalisks. Specifically, one who had been hunting Royal-Minis, with a testament from a mentally challenged witness who claims that the chromalisk had 'a longer tongue than normal'.

It also doesn't help that most of the noises made by the jellies sound like gibberish to him. His new body had built-in natural instincts, to help him pilot it and understand fellow jellies- but only to a certain degree.

The newest request was a little more reasonable.

Hunt down a knight who has taken residence in the outskirts of the Royal Jelly Palace.

Narwhal knows he has to do it.... but he really doesn't want to.

Maybe he can reason with him? Get him to leave?

And so, Narwhal makes his way to meet this unnamed knight.
---

I feel the need to mention this, in case anybody ever tries. But Narwhal is not a pushover.

To give a hint, Narwhal could go toe to toe against Strom.

Purple and Blue

Ares had decided not to rush back to the base camp. There was probably nothing happening there anyways. Chomp was peaceful, he was full, so he decided to think about pressing matters. Like his perpetual headaches since he had woken up. It was obvious Purple-Eyes or "Ares", as he insisted on calling himself, had something to do with The Swarm. The shadow damage strengthening his consciousness, the just plain unfair powerups he got just from sitting in Ares's head (and Ares worked for his extra edge, he had the sore muscles and physique to prove it), and the fact that anything Swarm-related had a hypnotic attraction to both of them. The better question was, how would it affect him? He wouldn't be able to control Purple-Eyes forever, he was getting stronger by the minute. Ares sighed, in a bad mood again.

*Hey Purple* Ares thought at him.

*ARES. And WHAT?* came the irritable, and seemingly sleepy reply.

*Why do you really want control of my body? What are you going to do?* Ares asked, with a manic, desperate tone.

*Now, that was clever. You attempted to get me to think about it so you could read my, and also regrettably your, thoughts and discover my plan. However, I keep reminding you, you are me, and I am you. Though it's becoming evident that the power balance is shifting* Purple-Eyes replied smugly.

Ares sighed. Well, at least his new door worked.

[[@The papaya
Unless it's a post with at least a portion dedicated to RP character movement, OOC chat should be in the Discussion Thread.

Also, I figured the Flourishes of SK were too boring, so the actual look of Strom's blade is actually that of an Épée, described in its depiction here -- with the second form reveal of Strom. I figured just saying a "Rapier" wouldn't do the sword enough in its description, and the design of the sword I based Strom's Épée off of is quite different... It's a combination between an Épée de chevalier (in regards to the blade -- although it is much thinner than the example given in-link), but has the hilt of a modified Tournament Épée (with the difference being apparent in the original source image used to depict the blade).

I just call it an Épée due to the fact that it's a combination of many blades regarded as "an Épée". It might be an entirely different type of blade whose name I just don't know... But oh well.]]

Le Interlude

Checking his readings, Ares realised that Chomp had reached level 49.
"Wow Chomp, you've reached so far already, but you're full aren't you? I'm gonna have to wait to level you up," Ares said. Chomp didn't reply, he was still sleeping. As it was, Ares only had the one Power Dust and Orb on him. He was going have to go mineral hunting again. But, right now, he was hungry.

Looking at his stock of Gel Drops and Cores, he was running dangerously low. And he really didn't want to go hunting Jellies again so soon, with so many Royal Minis here, it meant there was another Royal Jelly, and he didn't need that thing noticing him. At least not until he got himself a Silent Nightblade. He was still tinkering with the Alchemy Machine. So far all it was alchemizing was dust. He stored the dust though, could never tell, it might be useful, and it gave him something to test later.

Chomp was asleep, Purple-Eyes was quiet. For the first time since he woke up, Ares relaxed.

Lyn's baaaack.

Lyn looked around her old home, she was starting to well up, her old stuffed wolver lie scorched and unattended. Her bed was a total mess. Her house, all in all, was a wreck. She decided the longer she stayed here the worse her memories would take her over, so she opened the door and walked out. Bad idea. She opened the door and fell into a dark abyss. She slammed into the soft warm grass of a wolver den. She looked up, this memory wasn't bad compared to the last one. Then she heard a scream and turned around, just in time to see Mark be killed by the Phantom. She screamed out but couldn't move, blood flew at her face as the Phantom hacked his dead body into bits, Lyn's vision became clouded and she screamed out in pain as suddenly she was in a graveyard being stabbed by a phantom herself. "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!" Lyn shouted, she stabbed Swarmbane into the phantom.

Back on the elevator, Swarmbane floated up and disappeared in a burst of light, Lyn awoke with terrible pains all throughout her, she looked around, and then hugged Sarah tightly. She was back in her grass coated Serene Tailed Helm and Serene Draped Mail, holding her Tundrus and a strange new sword. It was a crimson and red Lionheart Honor Blade with the blade made of ruby. She read the inscription on the sword, it said, "Swarmbane is no longer, You now hold only Vengeance." Vengeance, it was a good name for such a bloody looking sword, Lyn decided it was time she go on her own trip. Time to go Phantom hunting.

Grrrr..

"Grrr." Chomp woke up on high alert. Ares, jumped up, after just being able to fall asleep.

"Should've figured it wouldn't last," he said, peeved. Chomp was barking at the door, and Ares was too annoyed to get up.
"If you want to go outside do it yourself, just switch your harness," he told Chomp.

((Ares had made a sprite door for Chomp, by having Chomp kill one of the cubes at the side of the door, and therefore it would react to Chomp's Shadow Harness Firebolt. Also Chomp's harness is self switching after Ares tinkered with it. It allows Chomp to deliver the most effective damage he can, provided Ares doesn't override it))

Chomp did let himself out, and continued flitting in and out of the door, barking at Ares.
"You're gonna make the jellies notice us," Ares groaned. Chomp, in retort, blasted two Firebolts at Ares. Ares, startled, got up. Chomp only did stuff like that when in was important. As Ares approached the door, he noticed something off about the environment.

"Why do I smell Snarbolax?" he mused. Using his Nightblade to wave the door to one side, he stepped outside. Right next to some nearby bushes, which he'd have to cut down soon, there lay a knight who seemed to have passed out from exhaustion. With Purple-Eyes silent, it only took him a second to make a decision. He lugged the knight inside and left him propped up at the door. Which was as comfortable as it would get for him.

Speaking of comfortable though, he needed to make this more of a base. Ares hoped fervently that this situation wouldn't occur too often, because realistically, this place could only hold about 6 or 7 knights comfortably, but he needed to make it as suitable as possible. Jelly beds, Chromalisk pillows, a gremlin mender healing pool, if he could hack it (gremlin magic and water was an awesome combo), a retrode security system.....

Chomp's Home Depot.

Ares had given Chomp tests like these before, but Chomp had never gotten one of this magnitude. Usually when Master sent him out into the Clockworks by himself, he simply had to kill a wolver or two and that was it. But now, in a time where the monsters of the Clockworks were unimaginably strong and Haven had fallen, not to mention the desperation everyone seemed to move with, Chomp was to go dive in the Clockworks and get:

4-6 Retrode heads
15 Chromalisks (minimum)
15 Wolvers (minimum)
A gremlin mender's wand (if possible)
Also any of the Fiend family (as much as he could find)

Chomp was to get ALL this, while Ares sat at his base and lured Jelly Cubes to their untimely demise. He didn't even have to get up, he literally just had to sit outside his door and wait for jellies to come his way. Which they would. Anyways, Chomp supposed the difficulty of this task was why Master had evolved him. Chomp's increased size was no match for the increase in power he received. Not to mention the new skill he had. With this new move, he had to be careful not to burn the supplies. Anyways, at this point, Chomp had obtained:

3 Retrode heads
15 Chromalisks (they just lined up for his firebolts)
25 Wolvers (highly intelligent by themselves, in a pack? Not so much)
2 Gorgos

Chomp had ended up in an arena, which was lucky and unlucky depending on how you looked at it. He tentatively stepped into the second ring. The first wave of monsters materialized. Constructs, and more importantly, Retrodes. He'd save them for last. Chomp flew high, launching consecutive Firebolts into the crowd of Mecha Knights, which didn't take kindly to not being able to reach Chomp. One even threw a sword, which Chomp barely dodged. After dodging, Chomp dived with such a speed that none of the constructs saw coming. He loosed a Firebolt, which enveloped him, making him look like a comet. He smashed cleanly through 3 Mecha Knights, a Lumber, and a Retrode's neck. Ares's collection device stored the head, and Chomp relished the achievement of one objective. A Lumber's arm started swinging towards Chomp. Goading another Retrode, which swiped at him, Chomp flew upwards, prepping for another dive. The Retrode had been caught in the Lumber's arm, and Chomp snatched the head of the body then and there. One to go. The Retrode in question hit him directly with a laser. A Lumber took this opportunity to attempt a smashing blow to Chomp. Acting in desperation, Chomp fired a Firebolt directly at the Lumber's face. Chomp then lived up to his name and bit and tore the gear out of the Lumber.

*You know what? Enough is enough.* Chomp thought. He flew incredibly high, summoning his most powerful and potent fire. Turning into a nosedive, Chomp was a red streamline as he dived and brought his burning passion to the forefront of his mouth. Opening his mechanical maw, he let go a massive barrage of fire on the unsuspecting constructs waiting for him on the floor. Between the earth-shattering force of his explosion and the burning effect of the attack. All the constructs fainted. Chomp snatched his 6th head and roared in victory. The second wave came in the arena, as is the norm, but they already saw a blue glimmering around the battle sprite.

"Time to bring you home." Ares said, back at the base.

Lyn's pissed

Lyn ran from the elevator and down into the clockworks, destroying anything in her way using Vengeance. Upon finally reaching a graveyard, Lyn cleaned it out, thoroughly. Then she sat in wait for her old friend, the phantom. It didn't take long for him to arrive. She felt a pulse of dark, swarm energy when he appeared.

"Hello, deary. I don't see Swarmbane around. Tsk Tsk Tsk, did we lose the precious artifact. Ah who cares, did you at least enjoy the memories of the good old days?" The phantom prattled on. Lyn spun around and put Vengeance to his throat.

"I have no wish to talk to you creep," Lyn's voice was deep and Vengeance began glowing red, Her voice returned to normal, "I seek a duel in honor of Mark and his Vanguard Squadron!"

"Oh is that so, well then," The Phantom drew his rarely used sword, he more often used his hands. His sword was an elegant one, a Swarmic-Suda as he called it. It was a giant, swarm infected, sudaruska. Torn from the hands of some unlucky knight ages ago.

The battle was very tense, and very tight as well. Both of them fought with great fury, neither gaining an inch on the other. Then, something strange happened, Vengeance began glowing again, and Lyn's strikes became twice as powerful, twice as fast. She beat the Phantom to the ground and hovered over him, ready to behead him.

"Heh, you can't kill me," Phantom scoffed. Lyn struck, and he returned to his orb form. Then Lyn lost all control, Vengeance began burning with a cold, red, flame,. It took Lyn over and she swung mercilessly at the orb. It split into pieces, shattered, and then formed a pink fog at Lyn's feet. The fog gathered at one foot, and then seemed to just dissapear. So did vengeance, for that matter, for all she held now was her old nightblade. Lyn though of what to do next while walking towards the elevator, head back to camp? Good idea, then, she felt a stabbing pain in her leg. She looked down at her foot, the Swarm was corrupting her, she knew no cure for this, what she did know, was she needed somewhere faster than camp. She looked back at her leg, the pale green metal plating was turning black, the vines withering, yet the blooms illogically being the brightest hot pink ever. Lyn limped to the elevator and headed up, she had to find someone, somewhere.

Setting up shop

"I hope I never have to do that to you again Chomp," Ares said. He glanced over at the knight at the door, who was still sleeping. Chomp's haul was impressive, he had never expected Chomp to fulfill the list and was watching carefully for the moment to bring him back. But fulfill it he did, so Ares gratefully fed him and let him sleep.

"Now, time to make this into a base," Ares said. First, he connected 5 Power Cells to a Hailstone, and placed it in a Lumber he had killed and carved the insides out of. This was the refrigerator. He set to cutting the edible meat out of the Wolvers, the 2 Gorgos (the fiend floors had rotated) and the Chromalisks. This meat was neatly placed into the fridge. Even Purple-Eyes was admiring Ares's handiwork. Next the pillows. Ares had already made beds out of numerous jellies he had killed and they would remain upright, provided he didn't sleep with a Shadow weapon touching the bed. Ares had stuffed the Wolver pelts into the Chromalisk heads (which still were puffy as the tongue was rolled into them), and voila, puffy, comfortable pillows (which somehow didn't reek of death at all). Ares put the pillows against the bed heads ( Lumber Arms) and turned his attention to his alarm system. This was rather simple actually. Connecting the Retrode heads into two towers of 3, at each side of the door, he then connected each head to a Power Cell which was connected to his Com Unit. These Power Cells were modified to make the Retrodes keep their lasers at a minimum (and fire at another head randomly). Therefore there was always a complex grid of lasers at the door. The Retrode circuits communicate a misfire, which would then be relayed through the Power Cell by a spike in the power output, to the Com Unit, which would cause an alarm to go off. Ares let out a huge sigh of relief. He hoped he'd use this base for a while at least, after putting this much work into it.

The base was like this. Firstly, it was pretty much a huge square area of the Palace. Like at least twice the size of your average clearing in a Graveyard. Starting from the door, you then had the alarm system right there. There were 6 beds lined out at the left wall, with the bedheads against the wall. On the right side was pretty much empty space, Ares wasn't sure what to do with it yet. In the middle of the base was a fireplace setting, so he could cook. At the far side from the door, you had the fridge, alchemy machine, and the elevator. His final touch was a monitor he "appropriated" from Spiral HQ (he won a bet with Kora, and she didn't want to pay up at the time) and had lugged around with him since. He connected this with a camera that came with it. He covered the camera in jelly and stuck the glob on top of the door at the outside. Checking the monitor, he saw that he had a perfect view of anything coming towards the door, (which was a bit harder to spot now thanks to the recently cleared nearby bushes). Ares lugged Sleepy Snarby (as he had taken to calling him) onto the first bed, then chose the most comfortable bed for himself, sprawled out, and tried to sleep.

Lyn had gone up three floors since the graveyard.

She had only felt more pain as the Swarm slowly spread up her left-hand side and up onto her face. She had recently started hearing faint voices telling her to kill, but she managed to ignore them, she didn't know for how long she could though. Lyn looked at the next elevator, it went up to RJP. She could fight some slimes and finally EAT. That was something Lyn hadn't noticed, as the swarm corrupted her, her thoughts became more primal, she was still a lady, but she thought more of survival than companionship. As Lyn ascended into RJP she saw a small "home" it was a quaint base. She was placed on the 2nd of the 3 floors, as only specific elevators descended or ascended into boss rooms.

Lyn approached the house and knocked at the door, she didn't hear the alarm go off, and there was no immediate response, "H3lP mE PleASE" Lyn's voice came out a raspy, gargling, hardly understandable ramble. Lyn didn't realize this and waited patiently at the door.

(P.S. Lyn is corrupted up her left hand side. Her left hand is uncorrupted, and so is her right hand side, her left eye is now a swarm pink. I'm telling you this so you may have an appropriate reaction to me at your FRONT FREAKIN' DOOR) {Not angry, emphasizing how VITAL this SITUATION is to LYN and how scary it might be for ARES. I also can't STOP using CAPS}

Sarah Story!

Sarah is not currently with Lyn, this story explains where she currently is.

Sarah was out in the woods while Lyn was fighting Phantom. Thus, she avoided corruption. But Sarah was caught in Swarmbane's blast, and she ended up teleported away long before Lyn became corrupted.

-Sarah was confused, after the bright white light, she was teleported here. Here was a secret grove, or at least so it seems. Sarah remembered this place, or did she? It looked alot like where Mark and Lyn used to hang out, but it was different. It had more flowers, two Tortodrones, and an altar in the middle made of marble, but the strange part was Lyn's sword was stuck in the altar. Where was Lyn, was she okay, why was her sword here? Sarah had so many questions, but no answers, and no contact with Lyn... Sarah was here, alone with two Tortodrones, at least she had them. Sarah curled up, and fell asleep in front of Swarmbane.-

That is where Lyn's sprite went.

Dwl it's not a house

((But, that aside, let's dive right in it shall we?))

Ares was woken up not by Chomp this time, but by the alarm going off. Leaping out of the bed, he drew his Cold Iron Carver, only to see that there was nothing there. At all. He looked at the camera, which, in his mind was just another example of his opportunistic genius, lugging around his "appropriated" junk all this time till it suddenly became useful. Apparently, there was some knight, and she looked a little...off.. outside his door. Her knocking, and some pink substance, seemed to have set off the alarm, and it seemed she was standing there waiting for someone to show up. She had said something too, but the camera only picked it up as a gurgle.

"Seriously though, is the base that obvious to knights? Well I suppose it should be," Ares mused as he briskly strode to the door. Using his Blackhawk to wave the door aside, Ares began to greet the new arrival.

"He-" then, he saw what he was dealing with in its full glory. The knight's sides were corrupted with some pinkish aura coming off some seriously black armor. Her hands seemed to be strangely free though, but her left eye, her left eye was pink. Freakin pink.

*Hope that eye thing isn't contagious.* Ares thought. Then Purple-Eyes laughed, and Ares had a quick flashback to the gremlins, and their axes.
And then he realized. It was The Swarm. It was corrupting her. With a nervous glance at Sleepy-Snarby, (he hoped it wouldn't affect him), he spoke to the knight.

"Come in, please hurry," Ares said. He didn't know what he was going to do, but he had to help, whether Purple-Eyes approved or not.

Where are the people?

Luke scanned the crowd and studied the buildings around them. Not recognizing anything, he turned to the Hunter for assistance.

"So er- where is this gremlin?"

Continuing where I left off

(This is about the same time Strom began his charge towards Isphea and Keep, after the Swarm Drill detonated)

"If it's Swarm, then I can handle it." Grell and Meteko turned to Drace, who had been quiet for a while. Meteko soon understood what she meant.

"Drace, no, you aren't-"
"It's fine, I'm not gonna use their power."

"Their power?" Grell held his blade at Meteko and his arm aimed at Drace. "You're one of them, aren't you?"
"The Apocrea?" Meteko pushed Grell's blade down with his Barrage. "No. Good lord, no."
"I was once, but not anymore." Drace gripped Meteko's katana blade, which hung at her waist.
"Drace, I'm not letting you fight it alone, especially since it uses Swarm attacks."
"I'm coming with, then." Grell lowered his weapons and stepped closer to the duo. "I need to give some payback for almost corrupting both of my Cannons. Unless," he suddenly gave them a glare, combined with him being taller, that deeply intimidated them, "you have any objections?"

Meteko and Drace visibly shrank back. "N-No, Grell."

At that, they heard a plume of Swarm energy burst to the sky. Drace ran first, "C'mon," followed by Grell and Meteko.
