The testing area thing would actually explain the Gremlin bodies at the beginning of Unknown Passage, to be honest. Along with the locks on the elevators, a precautionary measure.
Outnumbered (RP) Discussion Thread
@Sawhero
Is the Hunter referring to this?
Also...
@Thinslayer for post #336
You misspelled "Coryn" as "Corn", so it ended up looking like some random corn appeared from no where and landed on top of Gwen. For some reason, the thought of corn falling from the sky and falling on a knight made me laugh until tears were gathering in my eyes. xD
lol okay, yeah, that is kind of hilarious. Silly auto-correct. I could have sworn I spelled it correctly.
Now all I can think of are those monster houses in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, where you enter a room and tons of enemies fall from the sky.
Most annoying thing about Temporal Tower, really.
@Diemios
I hated monster rooms. They went back as far as Pokemon: Red Rescue Team. I remember spending hours in an Underwater level to find Suicune, then getting F'd over by two consecutive trap-rooms.
I think the worst part was that music. Once that came on, you knew you were screwed.
I remember there being a trick to monster rooms involving having a Mawile and a Girafarig in your party. I don't remember what the move was called (haven't played in years) but a Mawile can use it and it lowers speed of all the enemies in the room. While Girafarig can use Agility to increase the speed of all of YOUR mons. i could clear whole mobs with normal attacks with that combo. Even bosses.
Man I miss that game XD.
I think that the Swarm is a dark entity that possessed the chemical that Herex made to cross into Cradle to destroy the Core. I also think that the Swarm is like the Core's brother or sister on the spirit realm of whatever it's called. I would guess that the Swarm are not exactly a hive mind type thing, but they only use that to communicate.

I'm looking at photos of baby pandas and kittens
Anyways. This is a Discussion thread for Outnumbered -- random topics should probably be kept out of here.
I should be in Haven off and on for the next few hours. Just send a friend request to Sawhero. I probably can't run Clockworks, as my lag is dreadful, but I'm still happy to just chill...
I was thinking, I might start a new knight under the name Coryn, or some form thereof, and possibly create a guild for any of these RP'ers interested. Anyone in?
@Sawhero
I think it's a nice idea, but when the time comes for the RP to end, what'll happen then?
Also, I'm too poor in-game to sponsor a new character, so if I had to make a character to fit the RP description... It'd take a lot of time.
...
Challenge accepted.
Made the Character Pippin-Allington
(because just Pippin
was taken). Furthermore, I'm making that Pippin's last name. Because Apples.
So yeah i'm new. I posted in the story and then I saw this thread. So my character is Ares. He was pretty much a regular Knight-Elite.. (that stage where you're doing so much farming for crowns and orbs that it hurts) when The Swarm attacked. As you can see in the backstory in the RP, he barely escaped through the use of the Arcade. All that Swarm he ran and fought through may have gotten to him, it's a little too early to tell :-). There's really nothing that special about his Drakon except that they seem to understand each other especially well, to the point of reading minds (I guess).
Weapons:
Shadow: Nightblade, Blackhawk (from the Antigua mentioned in the RP)
Elemental: Avenger (the one he found), Cryotech Mk II
Piercing: Magnus, Flamberge
Normal: Cold Iron Carver, Pepperbox and Stoic Buster
Drakon (2 abilities)
Look for mostly the Nightblade, CIC and Avenger to be used with the Magnus, Blackhawk and Pepperbox
Defenses:
Drakon (2 abilities)
Grim Buster, Wise Owlite Shield, Great Defender. Scary Skelly Suit, Drake Scale Helm.
Also he's reasonably good at modifying technology. His standard issue Communication Module can be used to pinpoint other radio signatures, give health readouts and analyse enemies and give possible strategies. Provided he remembers to use it.
He doesn't have much of a vendetta against anything or one and has no idea about any organisations that were formed, like I said in the RP, he just woke up.
Laterr thoo
Well... my knight has a different name than scorpio but is set on his path. Also my knight is totally broke.
Well, someone has a mouth on him. I'm not really one to talk, but I at least don't say those words in public or on the Internet as much.
I've been gone for a while holy shit I missed a lot, I'll try to catch up. Yuuki has a rather background role anyway
We have finally reached that point where there are now enough people to make ninja posts become a regular thing :/
I always knew this would happen one day, but not exactly so soon.
@Sawhero: Hahah, a guild? I'm a little occupied with my own guild at the moment. That and I don't think role-playing in the game is gonna work out with Outnumbered's loose set of rules.
There are a lot of characters coming in at a really fast pace, and the Elevator/Tortodrone level are so heated with activity, I'd consider them Nuclear. Thank goodness I don't have a character there... Or I'd have to read through like, 6 posts just to know what everyone's doing.
On that note, I plan n organizing the events for myself in a Summary Post. Not sure when I'll do it, but I will. Hopefully.
@Keepscaite
I think it'd be more like "Act as the character would act (just like how you write down how they would act for the RP) -- but in-game.". In this way, the rules wouldn't exactly matter, because it wouldn't actually be a full "Outnumbered RP in-game" but rather, a bunch of characters from Outnumbered in-game.
@Ares-Hsg: Syber is back at Haven reporting what happened, and I don't know what to do with beck, I may stop using him here.
I approve of the guild idea, gonna try creating my character now on SK XD
@Colray Ok thanks.
I might consider popping up a new character. Not so soon though, for the new one to be introduced some stuff has to go down with Ares. Not much details forming yet, but it has something to do with Ares being in the Swarm so much when it attacked Haven. I'm trying to figure out a different wau to carry out mine tho because Keep seems like he's already going through what I planned for Ares.
Snake, is Creos the avatar/champion <- (Maybe?) of the swarm, kinda like Gwen is the avatar/champion <- (Maybe?) of the core. And also, do battle sprites have excretions?
@Sawhero I can try to make an Apocrea based character, but it'll take me awhile.
@Saucce I think I will try to look into that. The Avatar of Swarm thing I mean
I feel like I'm misspelling Creos, but whatever. I came up with some powers for Creos, so here they are:
1. The more followers or obelisks Creos has, the more power he gains. If you read certain comics, there are quite a few characters with this ability
2. Creos can sap people's life force, but only if he focuses very hard, and can use that as the power of his other weapon.
3. Creos can turn into a giant evil spider creature.
4. Creos can open his face to suck peoples' souls.
5. Creos can control a very unique weapon that I will talk about later.
6. Creos can blast bolts of extremely potent dark energy that will kill if not treated immediately.
7. Creos can build obelisks, but it leaves him weak
8. Creos is telekinetic and telepathic
9. Other stuff that people recommend to me
Weapons:
1. Obsidian Carbine formed out of third weapon
2. Obsidian Edge formed out of third weapon
3. Small shards of a massive obelisk Creos found as a boy (A.K.A. When he was 2,000) and discovered he could manipulate them into almost any shape he wanted like the microbots in Big Hero 6 and the Nanites in Sonic the Hedgehog. Yes, I watched that movie and get those comics. Creos can form them into almost anything except for a giant spear in which to shish kebab the core with. If Creos makes an obelisk then the amount of shards increases. Creos already has about a hundred pieces at the start and will slowly gain more.
Conspiracy: I think that the Strangers are Apocrean spies trying to make us knights worse through their horrible prices. DUN DUN DUN!!
For Creos, what does taking the soul do? Does it kill the knight for one (naturally i'm thinking of how it doesn't kill you in Harry Potter)?
Two, can he use the soul? Cause that would be kinda dope.
Also naturally, if he is the Avatar of the Swarm he should be able to control anything infected with The Swarm (foreshadowing? Maybe) and also if anything with The Swarm influence is hit by him, they should only experience it normally, as opposed to the "super-effective" hit I presume other knights feel.
Anyways, just how I see it
Being the Avatar for the Core is a totally different thing from being the Avatar for the Swarm. Remember, Gwen's spirit and protoform are trapped inside the Core; if she wants to have an influence over the world, she needs to be able to work on it from the outside. Being a telepath, she is capable of mind-controlling someone else's body. When that happens, the original person's consciousness is sealed away and replaced with Gwen's consciousness. The process is reversible; when Gwen is finished using that person's body, she can release the person's consciousness and withdraw her own.
At this stage, she used her initial Avatar to set up a laboratory outside the Core where she could, among other things, create mindless clones of herself into which she could transfer her consciousness.
In her protoform, Gwen is an enormously powerful telepath, capable of tearing apart whole worlds and creating entire solar systems, thanks to the incredible quantities of energy flowing through her. She is also quite technologically savvy, and was in fact the designer and builder of the Clockworks. Her foes managed to trick her and imprison her in the Core, and then co-opted the Clockworks for their own purposes. And it was Gwen who summoned the knights to Cradle.
If you're worried about Gwen being overpowered, don't be. Her Avatars don't have the benefit of all that energy flowing through them. Most of her former Avatars had the following abilities:
- Healing
- Telekinesis
- Force Fields
- Combustion (she can make fireballs)
- Telepathic communication
Those Avatars were susceptible to corruption. Gwen wanted an Avatar capable of resisting corruption, but to make one, she had to make a few trade-offs. Her current Avatar has the following abilities:
- Advanced Healing/Spark of Life
- Telepathic communication
- Corruption resistance & destruction
Are the mindless clones similar to the minecraft sync mod? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4JsFIZd9yHU for video. And yes, I play minecraft
@Ares-Hsg When Creos takes a beings' soul, it basically adds itself to Creos' life force, making him even harder to kill. He can also use it as a power level, and he is like a blood magi in the sense he can trade his life force to become super powerful. Also, when he sucks souls the person falls under his control as a mindless shell A.K.A. A zombie. There is also a small chance that the victim will become a phantom controlled by the Swarm, like Strom only much less powerful. The victims also die.
@Thinslayer I didn't have all that info before, so that was really helpful to know. However, Creos is not yet the Avatar of the Swarm, and it can be prevented, but all the abilities that I listed is before he is the Avatar of the Swarm which he may or may not become. Only if a certain chain of events happen that make him the Avatar of the Swarm will I start listing his abilities as the Avatar of the Swarm. And just to warn you guys, that chain has started.
Merry Christmas :D
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!! (: :) YAY!!!!!! I didn't mean for anything to seem like yelling, so if it did, sorry.
I was looking at some of teh older posts and found a pretty nice number generator for alchemizing
The dipping saucce thanks da papaya
@Snakey-One: By using the soul I meant he could summon it like a clone, or something along those lines
@Ares-Hsg He can't use a soul that way, but he can use a soul in many, many other ways I have not yet listed and in the other ways I have listed.
I'd assume he could ue them as a powerful energy source. Soul reactor. Now that would be something interesting to see.
Sounds good either way.. I kinda don't want to run into this guy. But he's probably who I need to unlock the other character anyways so...*shrugs*
I'm going to get progressively less active starting on the 27th, because I'll be going on vacation 'till the 2nd of January.
Strom's movement is a problem... Especially if the knights near the elevator make it up to the camp-depth and come across Isphea and Keep. Which I'm 98% sure they will within the next week.
As for Pippin, so long as the Hunter group doesn't make enough progress to finish all that they need to do before re-grouping, Pippin will be fine -- seeing as she's alone. In fact, if I don't post anything for her and a group-up occurs, you could probably just assume she "did her job without anything else eventful happening".
Regardless, someone will have to make moves for my characters in my absence, and because I haven't seen enough of most of the RP'rs here to know whether they'll use them properly, I can really only rely on @Sawhero, @Keepscaite, @Colray, and perhaps @Thinslayer.
I'd say @Liminori/@Sonosuke as well, but seeing as Strom's in very close proximity and is hunting them down... I'd rather not.
Please decide who will take control of Pippin and/or Strom with haste so I can reveal some special events which may happen with the two ( Especially Strom), and ideas I planned on using for them but will probably not be able to reveal in the RP myself. Thanks in advance.

@Snakey one → #228
I'd like some info on attacks available in his Spider form, because it probably involves toxins -- and stuff like that can become easily OP (like -- potent venom is always at hand and can be used at any time -- even at range → It can eat through Skylark Steel == OP)
The Dark bolts thing could become OP, depending on the frequency it is used and how much time is required to kill its target.
I personally don't like teleportation abilities, because they can be used in a way that makes no hits able to be landed in combat -- seeing as Creos is an Apocrean, he should have to "fade out" to move to a different location, meaning that there will be a small window available to exploit in combat.
I'd also like to know the range his teleportation has -- not that the range truly matters, because Apocreans would be able to vanish and appear anywhere they truly like (supposedly). This is more for my own curiosity.
It would be nice if someone could act as a translator for Jisston :P Or maybe he can just eternally stay as the person who no one understands XD
Or he could ask Gwen to make him one. She's something of a tech-nerd.
Might as well put these guys up and see if people would want me to add them into the RP.
Tech Star:
-Azure Guardian set
-Swords, Normal Form
*Barbous Thorn Blade
*Leviathan Blade
*Combuster
*Archeon
-Guns, Normal Form
*Blitz Needle
*Valiance
*Magma Driver
*Umbra Driver
-Shield: Barbous Thorn Shield
-Battle Sprite: Darkon, Meteoric Firebolt, Shorcing Barrier, Explosive Firestorm
A bit crazy and houses the spirit of vog inside himself, is afflicted with amnesia and doesn't like to talk about his genetics. Plays poker with Vog and his (now dead, and non poker playing) guild mates.
-Vog Mode
*Increased Health, Weapon Strength, Speed, and Defense
*Armor becomes Vog Cub

*Combuster Transforms into a Fang of Vog
*All weapons gain High Chance of Strong fire

Now imagine him with Vanaduke's mace.
The Dark Gunner:
A man split into two fused back together. Sotic, self sacrificing and self punishing individual, even going to Hell itself through a Devilite Portal just to purge himself of his sins and crimes. Why he's returned to the Clockworks, no one knows. What everyone does know is that he was a legend starting from ancient stories into a fierce general from the Moria Wars, to a Clockworks wandered. Just, who is this man?
-Fusion Specs:
*Chaos Set
*Omega Shell
*Divine Avenger
*Gran Faust
*Sentenza, with Piercing damage
*Argent Peacemaker, with Piercing damage

*Core Revolver (Core weapons are just Elemental Poison versions of the Obisdion weapons, modeled after the Core in design)
*Obsidion Edge

*Obisidion Crusher
*Core Compacter
While some could argue the Dark Gunner proper is the true form of him, in reality he's just a fusion from unstable energy exposure that can split and refuse at will.

Has three Battle Sprites
Drakon, Normal, Convcissive Firebolt, Backfire Barrier, Explosive Firestorm, prefers the Dark Gunner
Seraphynx, Elemental, Disintegration Ray, Violent Heart Attack, Valkyarian Arua, prefers the Light Part
Maskeraith, Shadow, Vengeful Quils, Deadly Cloak, Chaotic Haze, prefers the Dark Part
Azura the Wolver:
Made from Gremlin Experiments of Clockworks energies, this T1 Wolvers has all the strength, defense, and ablities of a T3 Alpha Wolver. Has a rune on her back that acts like a Sealed Sword's Charge Attack, sending a circle of energy outwards that inflicts a strong status. She can change her rune at will to deliberate enemies with various status effects. The Dark Gunner's faithful canine companion, she and he possess a telekinetic link and a strong bond. Oh yeah, she has a translator attached to her neck.
@Ember: Wait what? M-Me? Really?! I'm flattered that you would trust me enough to hand over that kind of responsibility, but I'm not entirely sure I'm qualified to control Strom.
And on a sidenote, the elevator is getting reaaaaaally crowded. If anyone is going to introduce any new characters, maybe you should have them appear somewhere else.
Would like to remind everyone that Coryn/Nyroc sent out a signal that would show ALL knights with a communications module their location. So, it really would make more sense if more people appeared at the campsite.
@Papaya: I did say in my post that Caite managed to get a basic understanding of what Jisston says. It's not much, but it's a start. If we could (finally) get back to the campsite, Caite could probably alchemize Jisston a translator.
@Keepscaite
I think Jisston finished fixing the elevator :P Oh, nope, he broke it again XD (Kidding)
The module. The damn module.
@Tech-Star: Is at least one a villain? We're on a shortage of those right now and my villain is currently nowhere near showing up.
@Saucce
While that is possible, due to the fact that the Swarm are attacking everything in this RP, it would have to be an experiment gone terribly wrong if that were the case. Also, it's possible that the Swarm was in the core far before the Gremlins, but Gremlin Scientists -- eager to find out what it was they were dealing with -- set up a sort of "observation and testing" area, which would be used to conduct experiments for controlling/investigating the Swarm.
@Snakey
Like I said, in accordance to Nyroc's Guide to a Devestated Cradle, one called the "Oracle" is the head of the cult... But that doesn't mean he can't be controlled by an Apocrean. It would be quite possible to have the Oracle as a puppet leader -- used only to draw in more knights with the promise that "Knights can communicate and negotiate with the Apocreans", while it's just an Apocrean leading a bunch of gullible knights to their doom.
I personally like the puppet-leader idea, and the potential for encounters with "Apocrean & Swarm Pact" seems good in my opinion. But I'm not sure if that's pushing it. I'll leave it up to Mr. GM -- Sawhero to decide.
