Armerio can go from the other side.
Outnumbered (RP) Discussion Thread
Yay! Unhassled entries! Benefits of le antagonism, :-D. Don't mind me, i'm food deprived.
I've been super busy lately, and my internet has been going on and off too. So I'm going on a looong hiatus. For now, you can just assume that Keep, Caite and Narwhal have all disappeared during the teleportation and are doing something offscreen. Meanwhile, The Silken Queen and Vargas are free to be controlled by someone else, anyone really.
And I'll switch before I make it sound like i'm at a funeral. I'll take Vargas tho, I like his concept.
@Thinslayer
I assume we're moving via the Portal, so what about the knights that are unconscious in the shelter? Are they going to die? Was that the purpose of moving everyone there in the first place? To get rid of inactive characters?
I figured that may have been the case from the get-go, but seeing as the portal doesn't seem to be tremendously huge (rather, it seems to be not much larger than a regular knight), my suspicion is piqued.
@Ares-Hsg
We are fighting Apocrean Cultists, as in Knights who have become followers of the Apocreans. So... You may need to edit over the combat a little, 'cause it seems like you're fighting Harvesters, judging by the "gaze" attack seen in Ares' combat.
@Everyone (including the two mentioned above)
Final comment... Meteor/star/thing falling from above due to Lyn's pendant. What are your thoughts?
The sole purpose of moving everyone there was to de-splinter the storylines. Everyone in the shelter is assumed to be in combat along with the others, and they will move through the portal just like everyone else. So when inactive players return, they will begin just after they step through the portal into the Apocrean Realms.
Alright. I don't like the idea of moving peoples' characters without their permission... But I suppose that'd be better than leaving them there and them imminently dying for no reason. Or being captured and used as sacrifices or something.
Also, I'll be gone for 4 hours. But I do have something I'd like to do with Pippin, specifically, should the situation pan out in the way I think it's almost definitely going to end up as.
Someone is gonna' have to save her or she's dead...
Clarify exactly what it is and can do... because if it is what I think it is, to be honest it won't do much more than wreck the town itself.
Don't see how it would kill any knights to be quite honest, weren't they basically on a meteor (Skylark)? If Apocreans are basically deities (very first post) then it definitely won't do much to them. And not The Swarm either, I might even use Armerio to stop it, as I was about to beef Armerio up in the next post and give him a power boost, realistically, or as realistic as it gets at this point.
@Ember: Thanks for the heads up i'll edit it.
Also, Swarm undead, Swarmbane, I suppose that was my bad. But Armerio isn't going to be remotely close to that easy.. just a heads up. But seriously though, around 3 quarters of the army already? Tsk tsk..
But really that meteor just seems like it'll just be a big distraction. Which might not work in your favour.
"Core energy is a slight weakness for him."
You mean the trapped Core's energy, right? That may become an important detail.
The energy the Core has released in what I view as a concentrated form, such as Gwen and Swarmbane. The raw energy from The Core itself will hurt him, unless he brings say twice as much Swarm energy to counter it. Which is why he started making an army (which can arrive to his side in a few moments, due to the connection they have with their master, he can summon them, with a mark I was honestly planning to keep secret. Sicarius has the mark too.).
Poor Ares though. Hope I don't have to kill him off.
Gwen's only connection to the Core is her mind, in that it is controlled by the Core. She does not benefit from its energies and powers. Protoform Gwen is insanely powerful, able to destroy an entire world with her bare hands, thanks to the incredible nigh-supernatural energy surging through her body.
But shellform Gwen is not nearly so powerful.
Shellform (cloned) Gwen is roughly as powerful as Gwen was before she became infused with all that energy, which is still fairly powerful, but nothing an Apocrean Hierarch can't handle.
I'm assuming the current Gwen is shellform Gwen then? And what supernatural energy powers her if not the Core?
But either way, Armerio is only slightly weak to things using an external manifestation of Core energy, he slightly resists everything else, except shadow, he fully resists that. So that's where it's at.
Current Gwen is shellform Gwen, yes. I didn't understand your second question, though.
Hate making typing errors.. they literally pest my soul.
You mentioned (and i'm just seeing the nigh) that Protoform Gwen was powered by nigh-supernatural energies right? So I was curious what exactly those energies were.
Also, Apocrean Hierarchs? I dug up this post Sawhero made back on page 1:
"Just for future reference, this would probably be a good post for everyone to save.
Apocrean recruits are the lowest level. The don't have any special armor, and have not taken their first soul.
Apocrean initiates wear the Apocrean set, and have the Obsidian Edge.
After taking their tenth soul, they become Acolytes, receiveing the bomb and gun, and gaining the ability to call on Apocrean Harvesters.
Very rarely, the Apocrea will grant a knight the full powers of a Harvester.
Acolytes have the ability to summon obsidian, allowing them to create spikes, walls, or even replace damaged weapons. This power is limited in use, and takes days to recharge."
So what would be a Hierarch?
So about the setting of Apocrea. Other than just a plateau with a harvester or two wandering around, I was thinking a heavily fortified obsidian castle with a legion of Apocreans to guard it.
Just so it's a little more epic
Guarded by Apocrean Harvesters exclusively, as they're higher up I believe. Give them all the abilities the Disciples or whatever have too, so they actually seem like the most powerful.
As I mentioned before is made of mist and crystal energy, although it's impact would do little to no damage to Haven itself, the pure burst of energy would cause excruciating pain to all and harming everyone. It would also cause severe to mortal wounding to those impure, i.e. undead, swarm, etc. (Not including Ares and Armerio i guess as Ares is clean and Armerio is too powerful.), and cause minor wounding to Apocreans. ALSO: Swarmbane is a White nightblade with gold marks as apposed to black and purple.
Don't understand how they're harmed by mist or crystal energy, but I can dig that. I'm gonna wait till later to post anything else on Ares, and in Armerio's or Vargas's case, i'm waiting on Colray.
I think that the Apocrean place would look like a massive piece of obsidian like this, but larger and balancing by the tip on a giant obsidian mountain:
http://s151.photobucket.com/user/Rocksbob/media/ObsidianWow041.jpg.html
I like the ideas, but I think... To save space, the details of the area should probably be left to the reader. We just have to decide whether the ground is actually solid ground, or if it's sorta like a bunch of stones bound together by dark energy, or some other thing; as that would influence combat maneuvers.
I can see that Snakey-One, and one of the fatal flaws would be to get into the balancing point and topple the castle. However, this would take a large amount of explosives and power to do something like this.
@Ember-Break: A loosely held together floor is an interesting idea, that would make things interesting. Also yeah, the exact look and structure of the castle should be largely based on the readers mind.
I believe there have been questions on the floor and mist energy and stuff?
So The Shroud of the Apocrea mission I see regular floors, but with glowing purple Obsidian or whatever that is, and some yellow stuff I take to be Apocrean symbols. So i'm good to roll with that as the floor. The castle, no input from me on that. Mist energy would be present, as the Apocrean weapons are made from Obsidian to run on mist. However:
You could give Apocrean equipment an edge down here due to 'super-powered' Obsidian sources, so to speak.
When near one of the yellow symbols that I think are Apocrean, an Apocrean will be strengthened and a knight will be weakened. They'll be like 100 metres apart I guess, and have a radius of 10 feet.
Thoughts?
(A wild Liminori was spotted! lol)
@Ember - I might still have Armerio try and send a recruiting pitch to Strom however, if he can find him.
@Ares-Hsg
I guess that means I'm going to have to write up stuff after all, seeing as Armerio will have to have a location to find Strom at some point. I'll write movement when I have inspiration, otherwise no good writing comes out... Forcing the words out doesn't suit my style. Huhuhu.
Also, that buff/debuff sounds nice, and would definitely make it seem that the realm is really the "Home Field" for the Apocreans. That's what I think, anyways.
Within combat, I doubt anyone will change their routes, or strategically route the enemy and/or lead them away just because they're standing near a symbol -- but that's simply a matter of an RP'rs choice of combat, which can't be controlled by anyone but themselves.
The idea has my support regardless.
Beck sent a single harvester to engage the knights at Gwen's portal. I don't know about any others.
Also, anybody up for being a council member? I know Ares is doing this too but, I don't know.
If you want to be on the council, you have the option of being:
Margel, The Silken Queen, or the Rabid Snarbolax(es). Or obviously you can create your own character. If you're going to create your own, then post something regarding location so I can have my messenger gremlin with a Swarm Clockworks pass (I.e., Sicarius) "recruit" you. That is, if your character will be in the Clockworks. If it's in Apocrea, then obviously you just need to get to the meeting.
Obviously, Strom and The Dark Gunner aren't available as Ember is here and Tech-Star mght come back.
I'm going to have my Messenger Gremlin finish his rounds in the next 10-15 posts, if not sooner.
Not much regarding the council. Just Armerio, Vargas, Creos, Beck and Syber, or just Syber as he seems to have more authority. I might force the issue and take on either Margrel or the Silken Queen as well, but I want to give you guys the opportunity if you want.
Srry I ment whats on the other side of the portal
I meant in the obsidian castle, the reason I put anything that had a comsets was because I wasn't sure if all of Armerio's army had coms. You know, like zombies and stuff probably don't. I probably should have put where the thing broadcasted.
So I'll need you to change that. :)
Sorry for not posting lately. I have semester-end exams n' stuff to take. 3 in the next... Well... Today, tomorrow, and the day after.
3 in a row, because that seems like it's fair to whoever is planning exams.
Because of that, I've been studying. I'll try to write a response to the Harvester (because I'm semi-lagging behind as it is) and add in Strom movement.
Don't expect anything too long and/or detailed, though.
Srry I cant post I have finals this week
EDIT: But since finals, we have a weird schedule and get out of school early
Well at least no one posted in response to that. @Colray
@Ember and Saucce - Exams suck. Good luck.
General- I probably won't post tomorrow, i'm going to be really tired, (have a match) and I need to study.
Oh and @Colray again. Armerio might send one squad out to meet the knights. Two if he's feeling generous. But he believes it would be more effective to lead them to the castle, where it's more closed and they hypothetically can't do as much.
You're right that there's more to Gwen's "returning to life" than meets the eye. Her clone literally dies whenever she leaves it, and that takes its toll. The oxygen loss alone could do her in. She's counting on not having to do much fighting when she reaches her target, which might turn out to be a fatal mistake, depending on how this plays out.
Sounds like that's going to be problematic, gonna be interesting to see how you figure that in once we get there.
To Le Ember-Break: The group is Pippin, Ares and Chomp, Lyn and Sarah, Scorpio, Luke (who's been remarkably silent, Colray?) and Gwenivere.
Who exactly is the Core Spirit? Is it Lyn? Is Lyn surrounded? So lost here.
Who exactly is the Core Spirit? Is it Lyn? Is Lyn surrounded? So lost here.
The "Core Spirit" is the spirit of the being that lives inside the Core of the Clockworks. That spirit currently inhabits/controls a clone of its body named "Gwenivere."
@Flame-Shinobi
Basically, whenever "The Core" or "The Core Spirit" or other such things are mentioned by the antagonists, they'll be meaning Gwen. And Lyn is surrounded; Armerio summoned two groups of undead:
- The first group is between Lyn and the rest of the group.
- The second is further down the direction Lyn was heading.
Lyn is, in other words, within a Pincer strike; she's also cut off from all assistance for the time being.
Oh, and she also has snipers aiming at her.
This is gonna be a fun time.
@Ares-Hsg
What exactly are the two groups composed of, btw? You may have mentioned it at some point, but I can't find it.
The homework has Iincreased for me, sorry about that. and I really didn't know what to say for Luke, he's a little useless in the combat spectrum compared to the others.
Snipers are more focused on the entire group, but have not fired a shot yet. That's for later.
This is how I am when I involuntarily wake up too early. Wheeeeeee!
Anyways:
@Ember - Exactly! Pincer movement.. Lyn might have a little bit of wiggle room now though, but not much. Also, I couldn't replied to your question in the RP, because:
1. I have the post where I said it in the RP and
2. Posting from my phone
@Colray- Luke could ask for a sword or gun you know dwl. Unless he has too much pride lol. Hm... Snipers for later? Sounds ominous.
Also.. Any takers for Margrel?
Other than that.... WHEEEEE! ((Now I have a headache :/ ))
to kill Lyn off, how long until we reach the swarm-ed core, I wanna kill her there probably.
The reason I wanna' kill her off is, well. I'm kinda losing interest in this RP, it's been very fun, and I want to see it through, but I've got Christmas gifts i still haven't played, and a wide variety of other things. This was my first RP, and I really enjoyed it. I learned alot, and maybe I'll see you guys in a differnt RP in the future. This is also the reasons my posts have been getting shorter and less detailed, and why my fighting to OHKO-ey. I want to see the swarm near the core, but I don't know if I'll make it that far. You can allways find me in Gremlin Chatter, and I'll be here a little while longer. Just wanted to inform you guys, so if Lyn does in fact die, you at least had fair warning.
Not sure what Gwen has planned, but I think it has more to do with the Apocreans now than the Swarm. Regardless, Lyn will (presumably) fight with Armerio soon enough, so you could always make her die off then.
Thanks for the warning, though.
Glad to be a part of your first RP, tbh it's my first too. Sorry to hear that though. Thanks for the warning.
I can safely say this is not my first rp, but you both did a pretty good job for a first.
@Ares-Hsg: Again, you seem to be controlling a lot of characters at the moment. I could take Margrel off your hands. I didn't volunteer before because I figured someone else might.
If I control Margrel, I can craft a good fight sequence between her and Luke.
Can Armerio approach from the other side? He's going to either go to Haven to talk to you, or randomly kill people. He's on business.
