@Papaya and Colray: look at post #276 I made a brief summary of the story up till post #423
Outnumbered (RP) Discussion Thread
Well first off @Colray- Luke was looking for a blind mender right?
@Xxpapaya- So since Jisston opened the elevator, freeing him, Auto and Coryn:
1. Ares been kicking it at his Jelly Palace base
2.The Dark Gunner's parts (Light and Dark) have been making their respective armies of Trojans. Dark Part is heading towards an elevator.
3.Pippin is still going through Emberlight. She just overpaid for soup I think.
4.The Silken Queen, Vargas and Narwhal (best name ever x-D) have been introduced.
5.Gwen killed herself and made a new avatar.
6. Oracle informed Creos about the characters in post 4, and Scorpio.
7. Narwhal has been sent to hunt down Ares.
Soo ..stuff's happened
edit:
The ninja post tho
DAMMIT SO MUCH HAPPENED WHILE I WAS ON VACATION
Is Oracle a blind mender? If so, I want to kill him off XD. If not, then whatever.
@Saucce- In the RP, which dude with a drakon are you talking to? A lot of us have drakons.. and well.. you didn't say where you were so m confused...
@Snakey-One- I don't think it was ever specified. I only ever saw him in the one post before the early meeting. And he wasn't described..soo
Just making sure.. I can go post now. Though where you found bushes at my base is a mystery to me. I'll work with it.
Well..that kinda takes out what I was gonna put here lol
Lyn has some vivid dreams though, and the sword changed again.. and Phantom hunting.. Strom?
Lyn was trapped in her memories by a Phantom other than Strom. If you look at Lyn's back-story post, her crush and teacher Mark and all of his friends were murdered by this nameless Phantom. You can dell they're different mostly by their attitude, but more recently trough weapons and fight styles. Lyn's personal Phantom has a very creepily lighthearted attitude, and has devoted his life to tormenting his "deary, darling, etc." Lyn. He does not like direct combat, and prefers to use trickery and cheap tactics. Lyn lost Swarmbane because Swarmbane can be used only by the pure of heart, and after that memory trip Lyn was given Vengeance, a sword forged of pure hate and anger. Lyn had lost her sense of justice and only wanted to murder her Phantom, through this complete and total idiocy, she is now infected with the swarm, and no longer has any special weapons. Swarmbane can be re-obtained by Lyn, and will probably be hidden away somewhere like the Master Sword. Re-locating Swarmbane and re-gaining his trust in order for him to cure her.
Does that answer any problems or questions Ares?
But yea that does explain Vengeance.. I didn't remember the back-story to be quite honest with you, and it's been a while since I read any posts that early in the RP. That's pretty cool though, I like the concept.
@Snakey-One: The Swarm has a representative?
General: So what's up with the Apocrea though? Aren't they supposed to be deities or something? They've kinda been backseat so far so I was wondering.
The Apocrea are backseat because of two (that I can think of) reasons:
1. They've been laying low for a while, while the Apocrean Cult is growing and recruiting more followers into the cause.
2. They're not the primary antagonists (main bad guys) of this story, that would be the Swarm. The Apocrea serve most likely as secondary antagonists until the Swarm has been dealt with.
Of course, that is if Sawhero wants it to be that way.
@Ares-Hsg I just sort of assumed that the Swarm had a representative. If it doesn't, then it would just be that the Swarm chose not to come to the meeting.
@Almond-Riddle/Keepscaite You can choose whether or not the villains accept the invitations. The messages are delivered by knights.
EDIT: @Tech-Star You can choose if the Dark Gunner accepts the invitation.
@Sonosuke: Makes sense. I was thinking about an Apocrean character, seeing as they haven't been that prevalent, but I want to focus on my first two for now.
@Snakey-One: I might be able to send someone.... maybe. That is if there isn't one.
Sorry for being inactive. I've been bedridden for the last couple of days.
@snakey: i'll try to get to it as soon as I can.
Is there anyone with Swarm related characters who are willing to be the Swarm's representative? I can only think of Strom, but that's not my decision to make. I would rather that Emberbreak or anyone allowed to control Strom do that.
@ Emberbreak You or anyone allowed to control Strom can choose whether or not Strom accepts the invitation.
Representative, you say? The Swarm has no representatives. All is one, and one is all. Strom is the Swarm, and the Swarm is Strom. When you've met one Swarm unit, you've met them all.
For We are the Swarm.
The Swarm needs only to make for itself a form of some kind, any kind. It doesn't have to be Strom or anyone else. They will all represent the Swarm equally well.
Thank you, Thin, for that needed insight into the Swarm. I thought I was gonna go nuts from reading "Swarm Representative" again (no offense, Snakey-One).
I can't really whip up a character and I don't want to talk (write?) to myself because that would be weird. Could someone else make a Swarm character?
Like I was literally going to do that anyways.. I just wasn't going to do it this soon, but given what happened to my character I can do it.
Okay I'll make a Swarm character too.
Name: Minmobium
Race: Knight/Swarm
Armor: A black and bright pink Shadowsun Stetson set
Appearance: His body is completely black except the pink swarm eyes on his face and hands
Abilities: I will go over these LATER
Weapons: Two corrupted Sentenza for dual wielding. He also wields a several mini tempered calibers <-(Is spellcheck wrong?) as throwing knives
Backstory: I will go over this LATER
If you require more, just ask me. This is probably the lamest Char. App. ever
There is no such thing as a REPRESENTATITVE for the SWARM!
However, I'd like to point out one small thing; I feel like whatever you might do would be better told by Seatus- He knows what he's doing.
Now, Excuse me- I need to go and look for an old application of mine.
I may be no Dark Lord, but I can bet I kill more- Smashing and a bashing and a slicing more than the legends;
Back up son, gonna get real messy in here,
'Cause Swarmao is Here!
So do they all represent The Swarm at the meeting? I can see it happening because of the whole "The Swarm is of one mind" stuff but it would take some communication by us. Well I suppose it would take communication either way as one Swarm-controlled/affiliation character would have to make a decision that sits right with the others. Which I suppose is the reason an avatar was wanted or thought up, so what he/she said went or some stuff like that.
Anyways:
@Saucce - Spellcheck is almost always wrong when it comes to SK stuff.
General:
I had originally planned for Armerio to be connected to Ares, all Voldemort-Harry Potter style. But because I had to explain to myself why Ares wasn't possessed when he woke up, if the Swarm had corrupted his mind, I had to make the two minds thing. SO Armerio has a mind made of Swarm, which in my opinion, strengthens his abilities. So I'm making some modifications to his abilities.
Abilities:
Swarm control- When he focuses, he can control anything Swarm, the more independent the Swarm creature is, the harder it is. Once he gains control, it is permanent unless revoked by him. This is also why he could absorb The Swarm from Lyn, and therefore he can also drain The Swarm from fully possessed creatures, which strengthens him.
Possession-If what he spreads his Swarm influence through (for e.g. weapon, fist, shield) touches the target's blood, or just has contact with it for too long, it will possess them. Too long being about 30 seconds. Also, if you have lengthened contact (say 20 seconds) with a possessed object, do not let go for say, 5 seconds, then hold on for another 20. It's basically cumulative. For every second you hold on, the influence disappears for every second you let go, that is, hold on for 20 seconds, the influence disappears in 20 seconds. Once it hits 30 you're done though, unless he absorbs it from you.
Regeneration- Doesn't need to focus to regenerate. However he can only do this to one major injury per hour, or say 10 minor injuries per hour. 1 major injury = 5 minor injuries. A major injury is like losing his limb, or when a vital area is hit.
Hypnosis- Though he uses Swarm powers to do this, it doesn't spread the influence. He needs to focus a LOT to do this, and it only works for say one order. The effect lasts for a little while (minimum half an hour). He can also only hypnotize one person a time, and eye contact is necessary, however only a little is necessary (say, a glance).
Swarm Body- This is like, his final cop-out once his regeneration fails him. He is a body of pure Swarm energy. He is purple with pink eyes and in a humanoid shape. Wields a shadow sword and gun. Direct contact for 7 seconds causes instant possession. In this form, his Swarm mind is unencumbered with maintaining a knightly body and the power boosts he gains from Swarm possession are boosted. Everything about him is 50% stronger than his regular form.
Boosted strength and speed. He can move as a blur for a very short time period (3 seconds) and is in general very fast. Strength-wise, his physicality is up by 25% so he could bench-press an Ironwood Lumber (i'm assuming those are REALLY REALLY heavy). Also, his weapons power is boosted by a whole * level. So his Nightblade is equivalent to a Silent Nightblade. His 5* weapons, (if he gets any, would be equivalent to 6* lool)
He can create Swarm turrets. They boost his vitality and (temporarily) his attack, defense, and speed when they hit him).
If you manage to kill the Swarm Body his power will go to the next available Swarm character, which, to me, would be the next one that posts. If they have more powers than him, then he'll just give them a permanent power boost. If you kill that character he and his influence are gone for good though. You can kill him before he goes to Swarm Body, but I doubt he'll let you. If you kill him in his regular state he just dies.
Ares's mind is now immune to Swarm corruption. If he was to be infected it would be a whole 2nd mind thing again. Which would result in more Armerios.
I think if he got corrupted by the Swarm again, it would be a different personanlity than Armerio
I didn't really look that far into it, but now that you say it, yea you're right. Kinda sad that the only good character I planned to make is like a walking Swarm factory.
I just meant that it might be a whole other person than Armerio. Someone just his opposite...
Maybe Armerio will be replaced by a good conscience. Also, Ares RESPOND
I had intended Ares to be his opposite really, but because of how i've written it so far, I guess they're more similar than different. So I guess there'd be, for lack of a better word, a softie in Ares's head? Or some personality that hates violence and power or something? I guess it'd actually have low self-esteem like Ares was supposed to, and be all humble and stuff.
Well either way, I can't replace Armerio with anything until Ares gets infected by The Swarm again, which is probably gonna happen really soon anyways.
@Ares-Hsg We can't start the meeting until Keepscaite/Almond-Riddle and Tech-Star accept the invitations.
I should have mentioned what was on the invites. Remember, no Meta-Gaming. For the Silken Queen, the invite says that Creos wants to sign a blood contract with her to form an alliance in order to...utilize the Core. For Vargas and the Dark Gunner, they are being invited to the meeting to talk about alliances and other things. Same for Armerio.
I know, I can always make stuff to keep Armerio busy till meeting time. Right now, he's pretty deep in the Clockworks, so there's always time.
Uh... I tried to give you a chance to have the knight deliver the invitation and have scene about it.
Mainly because that would be the only chance Dark Part would even consider going to it.
"Mh. Meeting a bunch of people to make an alliance about something, OR making an army of Hellified Trojans!"
Light Part would try to convince the Knight to join his army instead of taking the invitation.
@Tech-Star I didn't really think about that, so I didn't do it. I also don't really get enough time to do stuff that long. So yeah.
Don't say that..i've actually been waiting for you to post. It's why I had to send Ares back to his base when he was sitting at the base Isphea (right?) was. Couldn't wait longer so I just moved him instead. Can't send him back yet though, obviously.
Someone expressed a desire for me to return.
I'm totally lost again, to be honest. The plot just keeps getting more and more confusing without any kind of respite.
The whole thing? Because currently what's active is:
1. Creos is sending invitations to Armerio (who accepted), The Dark Gunner (one part received it), The Silken Queen and Vargas (not received yet).
2. Ares, Lyn and Scorpio are about to make some sort of plan, not sure exactly what yet. Probably something about going to the surface.
3. Jisston is wandering through the RJP.
The inactive parts are:
1. The original base camp (with Strom, Isphea, Keep and Escha)
2. Auto (who seems to still be at the elevator).
3.Keepscaite's and Sawhero's characters.
4. Everything at Emberlight.
5. The Caina.
6. Beck and Syber. (Luke is at Emberlight so that's also in #4)
7. And your character. (last I saw I believe you had created a new avatar)
Not sure if I should list Grell, Drace and Meteko (right name?) as active or inactive.
But what I don't get is why anyone would think they're not wanted. Except me of course XD.
Haven't seen him post much since he made the new RP. He did explain about his position in this one in post #298 though.
I know but I haven't actually seen him on the new RP since he accepted Colray. If you want to friend me, my IGN is Magyk_Knyght (I had 2 make a new account cuz the one I use 4 SK is an armor games account) Im gonna be on a little bit right now. Im on the JK
So... I'm back. But so far all I've seen is a sleight bit of progress involving Strom (With Grell, Meteko, and Drace planning to go after him... Presumably), and then a whack load of stuff happening in the Jelly-Base thing -- which is so long that I'll read half now, and half later.
I have the feeling of impending Thread Death. I can't be precise about why; it's just a feeling.
I can feel that too..... even if I also sense a plot twist. I'll be on SK for some time.
With studying and training and all, and this laptop doesn't do SK all that well, plus its not even mine. So I usually have to wait for the other one to be free, which almost never happens.
Yea I sensed it too, it was worse a couple days ago though.
I'm gonna have to agree with Ember. I haven't the slightest idea where any of this is going anymore. The story has strayed so far from it's original objective :/
Can I be honest? I've lost all motivation to post. It just sort of feels like there's no goal anymore. Reading through updates now just feels like a chore more than anything else.
If I were to pinpoint the problem, it's that there are way too many arcs to slog through now. The story is all over the place and it's hard to maintain focus/interest. Too many people here (including myself) have gone too far with their personal arcs and have completely overshadowed the main focus of the story.
I'm going to look through and see if I missed anything from Luke's whereabouts.
