You are the luckiest knight on Cradle! You are one of about half a million souls who survived the crash (out of a million), and when the Core opens in an hour, you will leave this hell-on-earth for good and return to your beloved home back on Isora. Oh what a happy day this will be! How will you celebrate your final hour?

Be sure not to spend it drunk, because I can assure you, things won't be going so well at depth 29...
__________

If you wish to join this forum roleplaying game, all you need to do is start writing. No character sheets are necessary. All I ask is that you provide a reasonably detailed description of your character somehow at some point in the story. There is only one rule: no power-playing. In other words, do not play as someone else's character. Play as your own. God-modding and being overpowered are discouraged, but aren't outlawed at this present time.

Each player will be responsible for their own story. I've noticed that many players would rather be lazy and wait for me to describe the world they're in; IT'S A TRAP! Don't do it! You'll just bog the story down while you wait for someone who might not even get on that day because his life decided to throw some more school at him. Feel free to create the world as you go. And unless it's really outrageous, other players will be expected to accept your settings as canon.

The story's natural laws are assumed to be the same as in real life plus Spiral Knights canon unless otherwise noted by a game host (myself). If you want to do or use anything that falls outside these assumptions, please run it by me first. Speaking of notes, I would like to add a few to the story's lore:

  • The being inside the Core is a sapient, high-energy spirit with a physical anchor to the world. It is responsible for powering the Clockworks and supporting life in general on Cradle.
  • The Swarm is a mysterious entity with undetermined physical properties. It appears sentient, if not sapient. When player characters become corrupted, do not attempt to make any assumptions about its nature or influence, since I will be handling that as the situation arises. No further information will be provided at this time.
  • Swords are powered by mist energy, and gain much of their strength from it. Guns have limited ammunition, and directed-energy weapons are powered by mist energy. Bombs are limited in supply, and the strength of their explosions is determined by the concentration of mist energy. Shields use mist energy to power their force field bubbles. Armor uses mist energy to function, and knights cannot even move in it if the armor is unpowered.
  • Finally, and perhaps most importantly, THIS IS NEITHER A SEQUEL A NOR PREQUEL. TO ANYTHING. Do not expect anything in this RP to have any connection whatsoever to any other RPs. If it seems to, it's entirely coincidental.

And with that, join up and enjoy the story!

The journey home will be a long one.

"IN ONE HOUR, WE'RE ALL GOING HOME!!" came the joyous announcement over Haven's loudspeakers. Riotous shouts of glee erupted from knights all over town, followed by much dancing and drinking in the streets. All the Spiral leadership came out to cheer with their underlings, and even the nearby gremlins couldn't help but be swept away by the happiness and partying.

Not everyone was happy, though. Vaelyn and her team down on depth 29 were a little apprehensive about what they would find inside the Core. "Any change in the energy readings?" she asked one of her officers. "No ma'am. Energy readings stable." Vaelyn tried to breathe a sigh of relief, but it faltered before it got very far. This is going to be the longest one hour of my life, she mused to herself.

Non-canon? New character!

Kale grumbled in boredom and shifted in his post. He glared at a celebrating drunk and leaned slightly on his battle axe. As a guard to the Hall of Heroes, he couldn't just leave his to celebrate. Off to the side, he saw a slightly distorted reflection in a shop window. His cylindrical Ironmight helmet was firmly attached to his Azure armor, and the rectangular Ironmight shield rested against his right thigh.

The guardian watched in envy as some knights ran by, shouting and staring at the giant skylark looming over Haven. It was pretty big, and he wondered if the biotechs were taking specimens with them. Nobody's going to want to leave Hubert behind. He chuckled to himself and watched more celebrating knights, silently wishing to join them.

As a pair of eyes began to open, cold light flooded out into the deafeningly silent darkness. In the sanctuary of the Grey Feather Cowl, a soft, comfortable hood made to soothe the heads of the curious scholars of old, the person stared out ever farther, half unsure, half certain as to what it may do in the near future.

Pity there wasn't enough to tell Vaelyn, nor was there enough trust between the one being and the others as to what to do when salvation came in the form of cleansing fire.

Pity that the Gremlins had all the time they needed to trap everyone here forever.

Chains clinked against a myriad of sharp crimson thorns, their ringing ephemeral as the silence that choked it. The beast inside the armor had long since quenched its greed and anger. The chains were no longer needed, but wanted.

If the mind was in such a pure state, and the body had achieved pacifistic perfection, why was this person here, at the precipice of a downwards spiral that could only end in misery?

Perhaps it was made for that reason, the person was. A pure light that pierced where little others could travel; to be a guiding star in the empty vat of space before light would create more shadows...stronger shadows.

Or, perhaps, it was a light to mislead and drive others from the truth...creating its own shadows to dissuade, extinguish, rein in.

The night of blue and gold

The loudspeakers came on and shouted with glee, and there was much joy in Haven. Knights ran past the sitting Archemiday, which moved his chapeau slightly off to reveal a little teal hair. He repositioned his hat back on his head, and a shade of dark blue covered his persona again. He rested his lute against his gold wolf armor, waited a second, and started to play a slow, joyful tune. Whether he would be on Cradle or Isora didn't matter, he would play wherever. The slow breeze coming through carried his song throughout Haven. He waited for further announcements so he could see whether his stage would remain a cradle, or Isora.

New RP! Oh joy!

Aelhion sat, his chair tipped back against the wall of his small cafe. He watched the celebration with a detached air. Yes, he was sick of this planet. Yes, he wanted to go home. But over the past couple years, his faith in the Spiral HQ had waned. He stood, and strode back inside. Tall, with a Chaos Cloak and Shadowsun Stetson pulled low over his eyes, he always carried a rough, predatory air. His friends knew that underneath the look, he was nice enough, but they also knew not to anger him, for anger came quickly, and he wielded his Blackhawks with deadly efficiency. One of the regulars that had stayed inside greeted him. "What do you think of all this?"
Aelhion thought for a moment, before answering. "Not sure yet. All's I know is that if everything falls apart, I don't want to be the one picking up the pieces." He refilled the customers mug, before settling back in a chair, and pulling the hat across his face, deceptively looking like he was dozing. His eyes might have been closed, but he was still fully awake.

First signs of trouble

"Lieutenant Feron."
"Yes Morlin?"
Morlin planted a file folder on Feron's desk and crossed his arms. "Read it. Now." Feron turned his head a little and eyed him. "What's going on, Morlin?" he asked in a low, dangerous tone. Morlin gestured to the folder with a sarcastic glare, so Feron reluctantly opened it and perused its contents.

Silence.

"Is this true?" Feron inquired at long last. Morlin shrugged. "Seems that way, though." Feron rumbled back his chair and stood up to leave. He threw the folder back at Morlin, who caught it and nearly fumbled. "Bunch of bull. We're going home, and nobody, not you, not the Swarm, not anyone can stop us." The door hissed shut, leaving Morlin alone in the office.
__________

Back on Haven, Lieutenant Barrus had one last mission to accomplish. He would need several knights, each of which he had hand-picked himself.
Archemiday
Aelhion
Kale

The first one was the knight playing the lute. He marched up to Archemiday and tapped him on the shoulder. "Good morning, Arch. How's your last hour on Haven coming along?"

A bard and his lack of tabard.

"Morning, Barrus. The last hour here does not concern me, as I treat the world as a stage, and everything as an audience.". Archemiday hastily stood up, and continued to talk, "Whether my stage is foreign, a ship, or a planet, I will play. I assume you need me for something?". Archemiday removed his right hand from the strings of his lute, and rested them on his flourish. When he wasn't playing, he was practicing his jousting skills. Any bard worth his strings knew how to handle himself in a fight with a rapier or other similar weapon. Still, despite knowing he could handle most encounters, he knew that a mission in the last couldn't be good. Final missions are never good.

((I should have probably stated that although he holds his sword in his right hand, his scabbard is on his right side, so it looks like resting and not prepared for battle when his hand is on his flourish.))

Fandom is awesome

Barrus folded his hands behind his back and straightened his stance. "Yes. I selected you for two reasons: firstly, because your skillset best suits the mission requirements, and secondly...*ahem*...I'm a fan of your music." He left eye contact upon listing the second reason.

He glanced down at his list. Aelhion is next. Dirt crunched under his boots as he spun around on his heels and started for the cafe. "Come along Archemiday. I've got two more recruits on my list," he called back a he marched away.

The best offense is a good defense

Kale sagged his shoulders and watched another group of celebrators waltz by him. He perked up a little when a slow tune of a lute, its slow music lulled Kale slightly, and he struggled slightly to stay awake. He swept his gaze around, to the right, the gateway leading to the square. To his right, one of the walls of haven stood, slightly mossy and pale, sad that some of what it protected will soon be gone.

More prologue-y thingies.

"I never understood why...really...that as the one who worked to keep the light on, I should be afraid of the dark. It represents so many things...ignorance, malice, evil, depravity, variants of the former mentioned, perhaps more...

And yet, why was white, the color that gave all, chosen to be a positive color? From it comes burdens that all must bear, some more than others. While ironic, it all but too fitting for the color black to burden itself with all white has to offer. It is the color of those who have taken all but the very last things, and if it is lesser in taking certain things, certain false truths and certain burdens, then it must give to others to lighten its burden. A share of its own despair, a share of its own truth, wisdom.

Thus is the name "Grey" achieved. To the learned one that not only grabs enlightenment for its own benefit, but also to share and make folds of what it is given.

Though I wear the hood of one that has such a title, who has earned it by the labors of mind, body, and soul, I've only completed half of this goal.

It is for the half-completion, the partial progress, that I have achieved Grey. Really, it's closer to black, but that only serves to justify why I have this symbol. I'm learning, though.

You on the other hand...."

Facing the speaker, who had blue eyes that shone like the sky in the daytime, was a singular eye of magenta, throbbing in blissful eagerness for its prey. Sure, it probably could read what the speaker was saying, but whether it was focusing, comprehending, synthesizing something new...

"...you've always taken. No wonder everyone hates the darkness.

The only thing you've made for everyone else is a bad reputation for the word 'darkness'. How terrible, for Tinkinzar to grow you into this. Is it too late to help?"

The eye throbbed violently.

"...I'll try. But for now..."

Something clinked in the distance.

How. . . BIG is cradle?

On the other side of cradle,(Haven being the first side) a pod hits the surface.
The knight thankfully, did not go unconcious- If it had, it would have been out for several hours.
And suddenly, the door to the pod opens.
"Woah. . ."
The Knight was amazed at the scenery Cradle provide.
He was in a lush plains area.
As soon as it moved from the pod though, the pod handle snapped off the door.
"Why. . . Why do they design their escape pods like this? It would be so much better to have a reusable pod. Darnit, Ozlo!"
That being said, The Knight realized that it had not yet taken the supplies from the pod.
(Standard Pod Equipment)

  • Proto Sword
  • Proto Gun
  • Proto Shield
  • Materials to make Proto Armor of Choice
  • Isora Handbook Crafting Guide

---
Before the Crash - (Flashback while the Knight creates its armor)
"This is Captain Ozlo Speaking. Please remain calm and make your way to the escape pods closest to you. This is not a drill.
For any numbskull who doesn't believe me, and yes- I mean you, Finnigan, I repeat- this is NOT A DRILL."

The red emergency lights flashed, and the alarm sounded after Ozlo finished speaking.
Knights screamed in panic, pushing eachother aside, rushing to the escape pods. Survival of the fittest I guess.
I could feel the ship dropping- But I really doubted there was a planet below it.
And so, all too casually, I walked to the escape pods with my book in tow.
The ship vibrated and hummed with a volatile nature, as meteors chipped off parts of the Skylark, and parts of the ship started flying off as the ship descended- The atmosphere doing it's job. Ozlo really should have made our ship of ceramics.
But that was when I realized that we were really about to crash- No amount of technology could stop a ship like this from crashing.
I closed my book, and rushed forward.
Just as I was about to enter my pod, something really strange happened.
It was like a surge of electricity- Weak enough not to kill me, but strong enough to send my entire body into shock.

And then everything went black.
---
OOC: So. This is a mix of third and first person writing. Did you like it?
Also, as a forenote- My character's landing was delayed because of. . . Well, One hint.

Why is fire good? Because it brings life, and can take it.

Walking down the party filled streets of Haven a low woman rumbled inside a suit lined to protect against fire. On her back, a tank ripped from the incinerator's of the clockworks and fitted, homemade for lack of a better word, raddled with the limited liquid to fill its master's battles. The suit resembled what the knights called the vlog Cub suit, making her a Striker, save for the tank on her back and the points on back's of her hands where the flames emerged.

No signs of problems, save for the one burned eye on her face. Where the other was a dark crimson the other was stone white. It seemed this little firebug was just another product of war. Perhaps taken a liking to the hit and run style of the Gremlins or maybe it was because it made more since to just light some one on fire and see the others run in fear from the physiological effects of the weapon. Either it suited her just fine.

Following close behind a Drakcon, from the looks it was already advanced to it's finally skill with no wings, poked it's head next to its master. "Ms. Blesse, I must insist you enjoy the party. We are finally going to go home." Yet, the woman didn't respond. "This is what you get for all those years playing with fire, finally lost your voice and now I have to speak for you. You should be thankful that I can understand you."

Looking over her shoulder at the Drakcon, Blesse just grit her teeth for a moment. Mentally she knew he was right but didn't really fell in the party mood. Reaching over she grabbed the collar of the Drakon, reading its name Xeon, the firebug simply sighed and took a seat.

"Your going to miss it arn't you? I can see it on your face, your going to miss this place. Sure it gave us a hard time at first and the fact we had to learn to conserve my energy and your own, but look at the bright side. At least now we can go home to a place not trying to kill us just because we left the one place we are safe." Xeon said looking at her with a smile, at least as best he could put on considering.

Taking off her helm the firebug placed it under her shoulder and let her shoulder-blade length, black hair flow. I really am going to miss it.

"I know, I will miss it too." Xeon retorted to her.

(Based on Blesse of the same name, only less of the making fires from thin air and a Sprite so she can talk to people, but he does the talking :3)

Stuff

And finally, the Knight put on her Draped Armor and Round Helm.
Now, for finding any others. . .
She tapped her comlink, And hoped for the best.

. . .
"Yes? Yes? Your connection's a bit unstable there- You should do something about that."
"Uh, I just landed on this planet. I was hoping to see if I could find some sort of shelter, or safety. This world seems a bit. . . Metallic."
"Well, that's to be expected! This is cradle, a mechanical world created of many other worlds."
"Wha. . . That makes absolutely no sense!"
"Whatever. You are. . . Too far to get here in a day. Just how the heck are you going to get here if we're all leaving in an hour?"
"Sorry, What? We just crashed here!"
"No. . . It's been 5 years since we crashed! Just who are you?"
"Five. . . My name is Merlot."
"Merlot. What a strange name for a girl."
"Well yeah, My parents didn't like me that much, as evidenced by the fact they named me after wine."
". . . I'll see what I can do about getting you here. Start by heading north."
The connection ended.
Suddenly, A creature looking something like a lizard came and. . . Aww, gross.
I swung my sword at what I had yet to know as a Chromalisk.
"That's what you get for slobbering all over my dress and hurting me!"
The Chromalisk jumped, and that's when I felt it again.
That electric feeling.
The Chromalisk had been stuck midair.
"Wha. . ."
I didn't care though. I slashed at the lizard, Watching as the wound was made, without any of the blood spilling yet.
It was an odd sight to see.
But, this was just a distraction.
I needed to get to the encampment.

Let's continue this thing.

"If you've looked through my profile enough to pick me, you should of found that I don't fight monsters anymore. I fence for my own recreational joy. But, I don't have a choice here, do I?" Arch remarked as he started after Barrus, but paused when another thought occurred to him. "Let me ask a question. We're not going home in an hour, are we?"

Barrus turned and raised an eyebrow. "You're quite the pessimist, aren't you? No, we've got none of that trouble. It's not your combat skills I need anyway. I need you to persuade Vaelyn to come to the Lieutenant's meeting. We're attempting to determine which knights, if any, should be left to guard Cradle once we leave, and I feel quite strongly that she is the best person for the job. The trouble is, she won't meet with us. She seems quite certain that something's going to happen in the Core, and while she may be right, I doubt it'll happen in the next hour or so. Can you bring her up for us?"
__________

OOC:
@Liminori: The mix of first and third person writing was interesting, if perhaps a bit jarring. See what you can make of it. Also, why is your character just starting out? The knights are about to leave Cradle at this point.

Hey, may i join ?

A blind man sits idly in the snipe garden, staring deep to the blue sky of haven.

"A party..... Too loud..." Even with his condition, his hearing is beyond normal isoran.

A snipe of blue color aproaches the knight, landing on his lap.

The bird chirps a little, and then flies away

Following the bird, he stood up. A breeze of wind passes by, blowing his kat eye cowl back.

The wind reveals his obsidian hair, altough its short, it is very messy.

He walks slowly to the fountain, in his side lies a sheated Glacius.

The man sits by the water, picking up his prismatic canteen from his skolver suit.

two snipe perch at his shoulder, The blue one from before and a yellow one

"You brought freinds.... my name is river, what is yours ?" He drinks from the bottle

The two snipes chirps, they seems to be happy.

"I see.... It is a big celebration, true, but too loud for the likes of me" He whispers to the snipes

Again the snipes seems to respond...

"I will try little ones, but i will miss the animal of cradle. This is more of a farewell party for me.... " River grins

He reaches for his backpack and takes a pie out.

"Here, i baked this early in the morning. Consider this as a gift and share them with your flock" He leaves the pie near the fountain.

Not long, a lot of snipes of all colours came by and joins in the feast.

"Peace and tranquality, two things that is hard to get this day" He puts back his cowl, which covers the man entire face. He walks away "I sense a ruckus coming ...."

The slime jumped on Merlot, and discharged the voltage remaining in it. . . And died.
The knight got up, with seemingly no effort.

Only half a mile to the gates. . .

Ugh

"THINSLAYER! I DEMAND YOU COME OUT!" The raving man shouted, as the other partying knights stared. Topo had too much of a drink when the one hour signal had come, and now he was shouting a name long forgotten, in the archives of a library on Cradle, named the Forums.

(OOC: THIN. ^ this my response to you coming back. And this is a REAL post, btw)

OOC: Uh, this is my very first RP, I hope I don't make any noob mistakes...
I don't think I'm a very outspoken character IRL or IRP so I decided to describe what goes on around me rather than what I do...
Is it this still okay, since these are all NPCs that haven't yet been controlled in this RP?

The commotion of the Town Square faded into muffles as I briskly walked into the lab carrying a stack of papers. I handed them over to Biotech Hahn, who was frantically working over one of the Northside Terminals.
"Erm, couldn't I have uploaded this instead of..."
Not looking up, Hahn cut me off. "No, I need hard copies. The computers here are on the fritz."

Not two seconds after he said this a loud, high-pitched electronic screech rung throughout the Lab. I turned to face the noise and saw one of the senior Biotechs yelling out "shut it off" at a shocked Knight infront of one of the comms terminals.
The noise stopped and I turned back to Hahn, who had grabbed the documents out of my hands while I was distracted.

"Hex, jump on that terminal over there, would you? Start transferring all root files to a data core." he ordered.
I moved over to the terminal then looked back at Hahn, whose fingers were moving at blinding speeds. "Wasn't a research transfer scheduled to be completed five hours..."
"Generator fault. We spent the last few hours recovering the Codex data back online as it was in the middle of a final cheksum," he replied.
I stopped for a moment, not really focused on the monitor infront of me. "Wait, what in the blazes of Almire could have caused a fault in a Tearium reactor?"

Hahn didn't interrupt, nor respond this time, his Binovisor seemingly glued to his own monitor. I could have sworn I heard him scowl.
I turned back to the monitor. It was filled with creepy glyphs jittering across the screen. "Hey Hahn, this looks like..." I paused mid-sentence this time. The Terminal I was working on was dedicated to Battle Sprite research. There was no reason for Swarm data to be on this Terminal.
Hahn did a double take on my monitor before he started rapidly and haphazardly unplugging cords out of the terminal he was at. "That's the same screen that showed up before the Generator kicked the bucket last time! Stop it! Don't let it mess everything up!"

"How am I supposed to do..."
"You're the Technician, figure something out!" he retorted as he ran down to the Generator console and started barking orders to the two Tech-Knights managing it.

The keyboard was getting me nowhere, the terminal obviously was beyond the point of responding to user input. Crouching, I punched my right arm through the front lower section of the Toughbox computer, and winced as my arm's cybernetics relayed to my HUD that the wrist motors had just failed. Clasping the first cable I could reach, I tapped into it and tried to flood the computer with junk data to slow down this "swarm virus".

A Sprite cage clattered to the ground a few steps away from me, and a Drakon-Class Battle Sprite broke through the door of its container.
"Oi!" I heard Morlin cry, the shouting had obviously caught his attention. "I thought I shut those down for transport." He commanded a deactivation order several times before the Drakon's mouth began to glow white hot, its eyes blankly gazing in my direction. I groped around with my free hand for something to defend myself with. Something metal clanged behind me so I reached for it, gripped it hard and swung it up infront of my face just in time to flukily bat a two-thousand degrees ball of crystalline solid right into the face of the terminal my right arm was lodged in, sparks sputtered out of the hole in the now red-hot metal casing.
The Drakon immediately crashed to the ground, along with the Crystal Sprite harness I had apparently grabbed as the metal joints in my left hand had welded together from the heat. Someone helped me up from behind and I turned around to see Riley lean down to inspect the lifeless Sprite.
"If I knew today was going to be this exciting" I started shakily as I looked down on my Draped Armor, the fiberglass arm-guards all but ruined. "I wouldn't have dressed up all nice"
Riley just smiled at me and winked.

Morlin ran towards the Sprite before Hahn grabbed him by the shoulder, and thrusted some loosely bound papers in a folder into his hands.
"Finish this report and get it to big chops before we lose everything important and or this whole place falls apart."

Might I be a Spiral Warden (AKA GOOD TROJAN)

"Hmm?" Wrackle, look up from his bed at the commotion going on in the haven he worked so hard to protect.
They're all leaving? Today? In an hour? Could I come... maybe? the trojan thought.
"Wrackle, GET UP! We're leaving this wretched planet and going in an hour! Hurry up or you can't go home!" yelled the commander of his squad, Scattles. (A knight.)
"My... home? I was born and raised on Cradle, and my ancestors came from Almire! What home? Issora?"
"Yes. Now hurry up!"
The Trojan looked at the planet, really the machine, where he grew up and picked up his sword, "Fine." He took his few belongings; the sword really was the only thing. He was second in command (after Scattles) of his squad of four. They travelled throughout the clockworks protecting haven. Well, there's a timer, what's it say? 50:00? Oh -says the name of some deity... Impostoclause?- I'm really leaving in 50 minutes...
He got the rest of his squad, and they sat at the edges of haven, fighting what was left of the monsters attacking. But even the monsters seemed to be happy, so nothing was really there to fight. A few parts of the swarm had crawled their filthy way up, so with a hack, slash and depletement of 10 energy, they were gone.
19:59...

Spiral Wardens are not Trojans.

(Lorewise, if you look at Arkus and his story, he is a spiral warden(not a Trojan) but then slowly corrupts into a Trojan. It does not say anywhere that Wardens are Good Trojans. Actually before Wardens were implemented, regular knights stood in their place. If Thinslayer is fine with this than go right ahead. Have Wrackle be a unique case.)

Kale craned his head, there was some trouble happening in the lab, at least he assumed so from the crashing sounds in it. He pondered leaving his post to check out what's happening, but decided they were probably celebrating as well. He resumed his position, and looked up at the giant hall. Its stone walls stood as they did when the knights first settled here, he wondered what the building was used for before the knights.

It's Me-ow

Archemiday sighed, and then started to follow Barrus again. "I've been involved in too many things here to make me an optimist, and a girl decided to make my day a little less unhappier earlier. I'll oblige to persuading Vaelyn to the meeting. What worries me is what you mentioned Vaelyn saying. I don't want some monstrous swarm creature trying to kill us all. I have a feeling that Vaelyn might be right." Archemiday looked behind him for a second, and started following Barrus again. His tail twitched at the thought of that girl yanking his wolf tail of gold. That *hurt*.

Getting up the firebug sighed as she walked around the town slowly. Sure there were people throwing a good time, others getting too intoxicated to walk. Perhaps the funnies thing she saw was a man who though so highly of himself in his drunken state that he decided to play with his sword against a clearly sober man.

That's going to end badly. Was her only though as she walked on.

With her helm off for the first time in weeks since she started doing more missions for the recon, most resonantly being the last raid on the Gremlin Colonist's cache of weapons and ammo. The cool air on her face felt so alien compared to the sweltering sauna she normally kept herself in. Perhaps it was the fact she was a fire Unit, a troop designed to put fear into the minds of others by their visible lack of humanity, or perhaps it was because she had become use to the heat, either way it was strange to be cool instead of toasty.

Coming up on two men, one looked dressed in Sklover suit, a day and night counterpart to her Vlog Cub suit. Of course she had her modded to hold the flame Tank on her back and be a little bit more fire retardant. Keeping her head down she stood a little ways away, with her helm off her Shoulder-blade length hair was the only thing hiding her face.

Xeon, her evolved [Stage 100, Extra long Spikes. Neck Spikes, Giant Claws. yes this is repressive of the respected sprite abilities] Drakon stopped behind her and watched her for a moment. Looking around it spotted another of its kind. Then looked back at his owner. "Ms. why don't you go and be social? Its good for you, beside's the doctor said it would help relax you a little."

Looking over her shoulder at Xeon, Blesse shot him a look with her blind, snow white eye. Sure she couldn't see out of it be it didn't mean she didn't know he was there.

[Saboteur looks into the window and see a strange cloaked woman walked pass as she tried to break up a fight. He is glad that the drunk person wasn't Affraiel, the guy could do anything when he is drunk. As saboteur looked back at the opposite side of the table, Mezizas is giving him the usual filrty look, characteristic of the obsidian queen.]

Saboteur: *sighs* "Time is going slow... especially when you are here..."

Mezizas: *smiles* "I got an idea! How about you and I go back to Apocrea and you can help me with a thing or two!"

Saboteur: "I am all ears..."

Mezizas: "I want you to help me get my queendom back..."

Saboteur: "Queen...dom???"

[Mezizas takes out a purple crayon and places a portal on the bar table. Purple lightning surges from the other side of the portal and tentacles dragged the demo and Mezizas into the realm of Apocrea. Bewildered by her act, Saboteur became furious.]

Saboteur: *yells* "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!!! NOW I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO ISORA!!!"

Mezizas: "Hey, hey, hey, relax, timeline in Apocrea in convoluted. You can spend decades here and only minutes will pass in your world."

[Saboteur calms down and recollects his thoughts, he looks around and sees nothing but grey landscape and obelisks. In the distance, there is a large cathedral, faint yellow light scould be seen within the volcanic glass window of the colossal church. Hundreds of apocreans could be seen marching into the church along a stoney road, they are most likely worshipping the harvester, their new deity after Mezizas went to exile.]

Saboteur: "So... what is your plan... and do I get to be free after this?"

Mezizas: *giggles* "Sure... I will get you back once I become their queen again... they have been worshipping a false deity for far too long."

Saboteur: *sighs* "I think I might prefer worshipping the harvester over you... those who can't teach... might as well preach..."

Mezizas: "Like it or not, you are stuck here with me... so, how would we get rid of the harvesters and my renegade acolytes?"

Saboteur: "I think an explosive entrance will do..."

Time to Raise the Apocalypse

A mighty din of cracking metal broke through the still air as the six great pins hissed and clanked out of their sockets. A pure, glowing white light pierced the darkness; it might have been considered beautiful if the knights were looking at it instead of covering their bleeding ears from its shrieks. In a moment's time, the nearby engineers were gravitated into the light and consumed.

Vaelyn groped the floor for her com unit. "Command..." her strained voice rasped into the speaker.

"...we have a problem."

OOC (Out Of Character):
@Avenger-Of-Troy: As a rule, any character you create belongs to you. The same goes for me. Any character I create belongs to me. I created the Core Spirit character, so it's mine to use. Please avoid speaking for the Core Spirit in the future, as I have plans for it.

@everyone: Feel free to use any existing NPCs from SK canon (except the Lieutenants and Captain Ozlo).

Also, a possible picture of Vaelyn.

IC (In Character):

Barrus picked up his com unit and stared at it as if it had done something strange. Do I really want to know? Reluctantly, he pressed the button and brought the com unit to his ear.
*bzzzzzkkkkrrrrkk*
"Uhhh...this is command. What's...uh, what's going on?"
*eerie silence*
*bzzzzzkkkk-* "...is that you Barrus?"

"Yeah. What's going on?"
*Vaelyn sniffles and coughs* "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry..."
"Wait wait wait one frikkin' cotton-pickin' minute! Tell me what's going on over there."
"Please...help me..." *she starts sobbing uncontrollably*
"Is it the Core? Was it opened? What's happening!? Talk to me, Vaelyn!"
"I'm sorry Barrus..." *kkkkkcccrrrkk- bzzzzzzz*
*silence*

Barrus was about to put the com unit away when another voice, echoing, alien, and somewhat feminine, rang out clearly through the speaker. Its slow, menacing chuckle turned into full-on laughter, followed by a message: "Foolish knights! You totally fell for my trap. Ho wow, you guys are soooo easy to manipulate. If you're wondering why I'm telling you this, it's so that I can have a more exciting hunt. Get going now! Tee hee hee!"

His heart sank into the pits of his stomach as Barrus processed what he had just heard. "Did you hear that, Arch?"

Xeon stopped for a moment, he was about to berate Blesse for not being social before the message range in his head. Once the message faded away he turned to his master. "Mama. We have to hurry, something bad just came up. Objective: Locate anyone from command. Closest target...Barrus. Status is unknown. It seems Vaelyn has done something which has released a rather happy voice."

Right, something to burn.

Flipping on the helm Blesse quickly went about reattaction the helm to the rest of the suit to make sure none of her own flames could turn on her. Once it was attached she headed in the direction Xeon had marked for her on the map of Haven. It was always nice to have some tech. inside to suits, in this case it was better for her since Xeon was both her mouth and information source.

As she bolted down the road, the sound of her Tank jossling slightly on it's straps, she primed the Pilot light of the flame Thrower, holding her right hand up slightly as she ran incase something jumped in her way Xeon marked as a threat.

Xeon: Following right behind his master the Battle Sprite went to work, marking friendlies as well as keeping track of energy and ammo levels.

"The arcade, so which gate my freind ?" He glances at the blue snipe

Then a message pops out of nowhere..

An elevator was about to go down to emberlight..

With the speed of a wolver, he rushes to the elevator which has start to move..

The gear has starts to move, an the elevator seems to go down little by little

"Wait up !" He screams

ZRRRRRIIIINNGGG

The elevator jolted down

"Oh no you don't !" River jumps down from the terminal

A loud thud can be heard resonating through the arcade

The man swipes his coat, and finds a group of 3 staring him in shock

Greater than the Swarm.

Only minutes after the being known as the Finder had been unleashed, the Core was beginning to shut itself in again. A pin, one of the Six, had dropped into its slot; the others hung carefully in the air.

The Swarm, made stronger by the light, bent the shadows of corpses and terminals to a singular focal point, and from it arose a humanoid figure...a Knight.

The chains could be heard no longer as the light muted all but sweet, sweet death, though footsteps, made heavy by the armor the figure wore, tapped along the metallic floor as though it were stone.

[Custom Function 1 activated.]

A blue tendril, composed of millions of particles of Mist Energy, began to split and latch onto the various corpses strewn across the terminal. Though it was doubted that the Finder would leave a single corpse intact, at least the life support systems in each of the Knights would keep them alive long enough to get to the infirmary.

First, though, business has to be put aside.

The most important thing, first things first, was to look for Vaelyn. If anything, she probably had the most combat experience with her being an officer. If she could've at least fought for a few seconds against the monster, the Finder's re-existence could be verified...

Note : The voice of this person sounds like that of Saydhi from Infinity Blade 2. Disembodied, for the most part, and consisting of both male and female tones.

Kale listened to Vaelyn's message, and the voice that followed. He also realized everyone had heard it. Some of the celebrating abrubtly stopped, and the looks of terror came upon some of the previously happy knights. Hunt? This wasn't going to be good.

"Walker? Is it?"

Kale turned, behind him stood Echo. The striker was ready for a fight, fully suited in his Skolver cap and coat, and a Final flourish gripped tightly in one hand.

Kale saluted, "yes sir."

Echo tapped his com, "Did you here it?"

"Everyone did,"

"I figured so. Come on I could use your help." Echo fastened a swiftstrike buckler on and started jogging to the square.

Kale hefted his axe and jogged after. They needed more manpower.

Am I doing okay? NOTICE ME SENPAI

"Go get yourself fixed up. We'll clean things up here while you're gone."
Riley's words echoed through my head. I took a deep breath, getting a good smell of the comforting aura of the Tech Knight quarters as I opened the cabinet titled 1677794, my hex-code ID. During induction, neophytes were allowed to change their name from their birth name if they so wished. I never submitted a name because I liked that number. Since people can't remember it for some reason, everyone just calls me "Hex".
I disconnected my two damaged light-alloy cybernetic limbs. and replaced them with my other pair: designed for combat and encased with Heavenly Iron gauntlets.

"If I'm going to have to deal with quite literally violent malfunctions, I want to at least be able to defend myself," I mumbled to myself. Tittering at my own bad joke, I undressed out of my tattered casual gear.

I finished donning the rest of the Raiment as a random, disturbing, and presumably leaked transmission between Vaelyn, Barrus and a third, unnamed speaker came through on my com-unit. The transmission was playing through on three channels simultaneously, one of which was supposed to be a restricted channel, and another was on a channel was definitely outside of the spectrum that Voxelcom Transmitters should even be able to broadcast on. Through the third, public channel I was able to pinpoint the source of the static-filled side of the conversation: "281.H668-PYI"

Oh, so now my tracer's malfunctioning. Those coordinates aren't even on Cradle.

Slotting my Deconstructor, Frost Gun, Robo Wrecker and Technician Kit into my utility belt, I put the transmission out of my mind and walked back out into the Town Square, to an unexpected sight. There was a high-ranking Officer facing twenty-four Knights who were at full attention. Well, twenty-three, one of them was clearly not sober enough to stand up straight in one spot. There were a bunch of Knights scurrying about carrying toughboxes and other supplies at a rather urgent pace. Four unarmed Squires sprinted right past me, in the direction of the Guild Hall. The sight was rather chaotic, yet in complete contrast was several Knights sitting around casually, some with alcohol still in hand.

I just stood under an awning, confused. Opening up a local public channel, I quizzically spoke into my com unit. "Were there orders from command that I missed?"

"Scabbers... Who is she?" the trojan asked.

Listle, and Lastle, the two twins who made up the rest of the squad were now with the chief and the trojan.

Listle asked, "Are... we going to make it out of here alive?"

Lastle, "You guys will drag us threw like you always do, right guys :)?... Guys?"

Wrackle didn't have the 'FSC is so easy' grin on his face this time... "Ya... sure..." But he was really thinking, "We're all done for."

Scabbers: "Guys, maybe if we could expand our group... we could fight that thing... and stand a chance. But... a group of more than four? It's never been done before..."

"Scabbers, go and find another unit to pair us with, and try to get pairs for all units. Get every knight into a group with a least two Vanguards!" the nervous trojan said.

Scabbers used his com to give the heads of the order (Feron) his idea, and tried to find a group to pair his squad with.
