Looking at the new trinkets... are they worth getting? they're all offensive~ in T3 the idea is not to get hit so having offensive trinkets is a good idea BUT~ their are times you do get hit and defensive trinkets offset what your gear lacks...

The defense trinkets have negligibly low benefits, even at 5*. This has been tested.
The status resistance trinkets have absolutely no benefit, even at 5*. This has been (exhaustively) tested.

CTR med * 2 + Vog + CTR med from lvl 10 = awesome. Also makes UVs on swords worthless :P
Those Sword Damage trinkets are incredible. Barb Shield + 2 of those = MAX Increased Damage. In addition, you can wear both Vog Cubs, have a UV MED Increase Attack Speed on your sword, and that sword is MAX Increased Attack Speed and MAX Damage. That's awesome.
Those trinkets are so awesome, I regret getting my 3-heart trinkets. Even if I had better heart trinkets, I'd chuck them for these.
I need like 2 of EACH new trinkets. They are ALL amazing.
They should fix/buff the defense trinkets already since all those new trinkets are downright more useful than all the defense trinket.
Agreed, especially with a buff. After being fixed, those things should actually double to have their 5* versions be equivalent to defense in common 5* before I'd even look at them over these things.
well, my thoughts were posted to the general release thread: I'm a little concerned about those trinkets. it sounds like in order to get important things for the regular game, you either have to play the PvP part of the game or pay at lest 1800CE to cover the unbinding fees, probably hundreds of CE more. For those that don't enjoy the current form of PvP (or PvP in general), it sounds like you will need to grind away anyway.
Clearly, most are pretty worthless (e.g. ASI for bombs and anything for guns), but the other ones mean you no longer have to craft for UVs or wear only a small selection of armor types.
Just buy the Mod Capacitor from someone else on the AH for crowns. Let other folks PvP to get the mats, and craft them yourself.

There is no ASI for bombs. (I hear rumors that it very rarely appears as a UV for bombs, but this is most likely a glitch.) The Bomb Focus Module is CTR for bombs.
CTR is very useful for Alchemers and Catalyzers, too.
These trinkets are incredibly overpowered, and even make a lot of uvs useless. They will be my monetary ruin.

Mod capacitors are merely a material. You need it to make any of the new trinkets.
Aren't these "New Trinkets" the old trinkets from Beta? It's just not Quillion selling them in the guilds. :P
They seem pretty useful, more useful than health ones, imo.
It looks like the trinkets are really targeted at people who specialize toward one type of weapon, rather than using all three. I guess it could make one weapon type specialization less inferior than before. But I don't see it as being a huge deal.

What's so bad about the trinket defense boosts? I was thinking about getting a 3 or 4 star trinket with my tokens and get some more money than the 2 star ones. But it seems like they aren't really selling at the auction house. Should I just get expensive mats with my tokens?
And please tell me where I can find threads that have discussed the uselessness of these defense trinkets. I know awhile back they said UVs mattered and to not pay attention to the unit bars. But I've seen gear that has UVs of an stat that isn't normally on that gear like say Shadow for a Cobalt gear, and it has a max shadow defense, and it makes a section for the Shadow defense. I'm not sure if it's cause the unit bars surpass the borders of what the player's box can hold, but it doesn't show very many unit bars for that max UV stat. I still have to read the units given by each level though on wiki, so it might make more sense later on. But for now, I guess I have to forego the defense trinkets, even though I"ve made some money on them. I even sold one for 18k before they got unpopular to buy at the AH I guess(well the supply is increasing a little than before but not a whole lot), but like a few weeks or so after the unbinding and UV ticket updates began.

Defense trinkets have negligible effects.
With two 5* defense trinkets and no defense of that type from armor, you survive one more hit in Tier 3... if you didn't have a vitapod.
With two 5* defense trinkets that are the same type as your armor, or you had a vitapod, you do not survive any longer than usual in Tier 3.
Conversely, with two 5* health trinkets (+6 health apiece) you would have survived three to four more hits if you are unprotected against that attack type, and six to eight more hits if your armor matches the attack type. Plus you can donate more health to fallen teammates, should you find them worthy of it.
Status resistance trinkets do absolutely nothing. Testing has proven that wearing a resistance trinket gives no benefit over having no trinkets at all.

Defense trinkets are worthless, the status trinkets (all of them) that prevent poison, curse and so DO NOT WORK AT ALL
The type-defensive ones (like royal jell band which provide "maximum" piercing protection) give so little protection that is just negligible. A dual hearth pendant will give you more health back than those trinkets would be able to defend for its specific types.
If yo are planing to spend non-boss tokens do it on materials you can sell on AH, for example horse shoes, shadow steel, sun silver, or other high priced maths, and if yo are planning on using trinkets, the new ones are the best option, either if you are a gunner, swordman or bomber these are the best trinkets available.

Token trinkets do have a cost, namely time. It takes ages to earn 100 Forge Sparks, although by playing the levels you are basically earning them for free. Too many people discount the fact that their time is worth CE/cr/money. That said, the new trinkets are stupidly overpowered in comparison to the existing token trinkets. Mad Bomber set + 5* Bomb damage trinket renders ALL bomb UVs completely moot, for example. I suggest either removing the 5* version, or buff the existing defensive trinkets such that the 5* versions add as much defense as a Maximum! UV.
These trinkets do not render UVs useless. What they do is open up more options. If you have something with the right UV, then you free up a trinket slot for something else. Or if you have the trinket, you can look at getting different UVs or weaker UVs. It adds to the flexibility in gear choice and that's a very good thing in my opinion.
I never said they render ALL UVs useless, I just gave an example subset where they did, hence demonstrating how overpowered they are. That said, making defense trinkets would would add even more variety to the game. If two elemental trinkets were equivalent to the defense from a Vog Coat, for example, THAT would add diversity to gear choice.
