Zettalux's Spiral Knights Fanfiction contest! (FINISHED!)

These CE prices are out-r-r-raaaageous! I've decided to (possibly, maybe) do this contest monthly.
And by monthly, I mean probably next month as well and probably never afterwards.

^ That's my submission for the contest, I didn't finish as much as I had planned to (final work is likely going to be 10k+ words), but since you mentioned the possibility of a second contest I decided to save the second part of the story for that, tentatively.

My submission.
Its aImost done.. And pardon the I instead of an I_ cause my l (on screen keyboard) key is not working.
You're working on the one you already submitted, I assume. You can't be working on a second one; you've already made one submission.

@shrinkshootr
You can always re-submit, but your new submission will just remove your old submission.
i thought it was 11:59 EST. thats a good 2 hours away.

11:59 PM EST is in 10 minutes. GMT-5 dawg.
Im running a speII check.. wait pIz

AND IT IS CLOSED! I'll still accept submissions within the next while, but be quick if you're still rushing to finish please!
WOAH!
Thats some timing :D
TeII me your ingame name. I wanna add you :P

Results will be posted tomorrow! My ingame name is "Zettalux," but check back to this thread to see the results.
Good Iuck to aII the contestants.

Oh f**k! I got all confused by the damned time-zone conversions! (I am from Brazil). I thought midnight in the US would only be until much later. I'm writing right now, almost finishing! You HAVE to let me still enter it, please! I have given this much work! I know that it's possible that I have gotten a little carried away, but I'm totally intoxicated by my characters etc. and I would really like to finish and submit it. Please, I've written 9,000 words already, don't make all my work go to waste!

As I have explained (and begged!) above and on the following thread, I hope you accept my entry: TERRA INCOGNITA

That's fine radekpsk, i'll let your entry in.

AWARDS! YAY!
I just wanted to say that, for my first Fanfic Contest here, I'm happy with the turnout! Decent number of participants, and let me tell you... The choices for these rewards were very difficult to make. Many good stories, it was hard to choose! If your story didn't get a reward, don't feel left down. There are many stories I would have loved to give an award but couldn't, due to the limited reward titles and all. Rest assured, allow me to congratulate every participant. It was a great turnout.
This got me plenty of good laughs! Lots of subtle references with a good amount of originality, I absolutely adored the story as a whole.
This is one of those stories that sticks in your head. It did have a bit of formatting, grammatical, punctuational and whatnot errors, but the concept of the story is what made it stand out.
This story caught me by surprise. It was exceptionally well written with a story that painted some of the psychological parts of, not only Spiral Knights, but the mind itself. The story did a great job at keeping my attention locked all way through that made me want more.
The Grinder absolutely had me off guard. Not only was it professionally written and formatted, it did its job at making me guessing at what happens next. The ending sent shivers down my spine, that's for sure. All in all, this is what a good Grimdark fiction is.
This isn't just a fiction. This needs to be canon. The author has a vast arsenol of... Everything. Not only does the story cram everything from themes like romance. action and comedy to content all well thought out (I can arguably say, researched), it crams everything at a beautiful pace. Never did I expect a story to be written about the events prior to Spiral Knights; the events that happened aboard the Skylark. Content aside, the writing was almost flawless and the pacing of the story was perfect. Well done, and congratulations to you shrinkshootr.
To all winners, please post your in-game names in here and if you can, send me a mail in game to "Zettalux."
I'll hand out the rewards tomorrow, for it's 6 AM for me and I need sleep >.<

Oh. bummer, it was good I could compete, I guess...
I will be reading all the entries soon and giving everyone honest feedback (I'm especially curious with the winners!) and I hope we can all read each other and talk about our stories!
Thank you, Zetta. You honor me with your words. I'll add you ingame when I have a minute. Mine is "shrinkshooter." :)
Also, if you read through all of those yourself in a single sitting...I'm impressed. I mean I love me a good story for sure but that's a lot to plow through.
Congratulations to all the other contest participants! Keep up the great work!
I didn't think I'd win Best Comedy. I thought that'd go to the hustler story. It reminded me of a Wes Anderson film, actually.
In-game: Thimol

Maybe a could get a Best Foreign Entry Prize! LOL! I doubt there were other entries by non-native speakers of English.

@radekpsk
Your story was actually good! Like I said, it was really tough deciding which story is which - yours was definitely a competitor.
Anyways, I still need the username of mosonofbo!
Congratulations to all of the winners. I tried writing my own entry... but it just didn't seem good enough, so I didn't enter. For some odd reason, I couldn't access this website all weekend either, so I guess it didn't matter anyway. All of those who won did really good jobs, I hope that if something similar happens in the future, I can take part in it.

I was kidding, of course! I still haven't read all the entires, but I'm looking forward to it. I'm sure all of them were great. Maybe you could write some feedback about each one, not just the winners?
In-game name: Moronsonofboron
I also want to say that I read every one of the submissions and hope to see more from every one of you in the future! Spiral Knights is a fun and imaginative setting that deserves creative and playful minds like yours to help it come alive. Even if you thought your piece wasn't very good, that just means you may have more potential to uncover. The only way to get better is to keep practicing.

I used to be a bad loser, and I still am, but I'm not as bad as I used to be.
BTW, I'd be happy to help with prizes for the next contest.
;)
@Asthix
Thank you for your submission!
