Shenanigans in Haven (Pt.1)

((I really don't know what happened to the gun puppies, I guess the authors just lost interest. Still, I guess we might give a short explanation of where they went, or ask if anyone would want to try writing for them again.))

Fridge was bored. Very, VERY bored. Currently Dagren, Fridge, and TS13 were sharing a small residence during their stay in Haven. Ozlo had apologized for the somewhat cramped quarters, but with all the knights currently stationed there, there really wasn't much room to spare. Fridge didn't mind the slight lack of space, but there was literally nothing to do until their leader Takun contacted them with further instructions.

Leaning on a wall, Fridge gazed around the room. TS13 was standing in the middle of the floor, basking in the sunlight from a window. It was in a state of inactivity, probably recharging its energy reserves after all they had been through. The gremlin was checking his inventory and polishing his tools, muttering to himself all the while. Fridge himself had been fiddling around with scrap metal that Dagren had given him, but that quickly had gotten boring despite how shiny it was.
Dagren then grunted that he was going to the bathroom and left the two constructs on their own for the time being, entering the small facility and shutting the door behind him.

Fridge slouched lower to the ground as he pondered what to do. He got up and walked to the window, taking a look outside. It was bright and sunny as was the norm for Haven, and there were knights of all sizes and shapes strolling about and enjoying the day. Fridge remembered that Ozlo had explicitly instructed that they not interact with the knights themselves, but they all looked so interesting and colorful... Fridge couldn't resist. Making sure that Dagren was still in the bathroom and that TS13 was inactive, Fridge snuck out the front door.

-000-

Everything was bathed in that calming amber glow of the sun shining down on Haven. Fridge wandered around taking in the sights and appreciating the beauty of the place. Several knights seemed to be confused by his presence though. Although many had seen the mecha knight with his group earlier, he was by himself this time and the fact that he resembled a hostile Cryo Knight unnerved a lot of them. Fridge was a bit put-off by this fact, but he didn't mind too much. He was currently occupied with the funny fat birds that flew around the place. He childishly chased after a few, while they hovered just out of reach and chirped at him. He ended up wandering into the bazaar section of Haven as several knights watching him simply scratched their helms in puzzlement at his behavior.

-000-

With a flushing sound, Dagren exited the bathroom sighing in relief. However, that small moment of contentment was quickly broken when he noticed that the pesky Cryo Knight was nowhere to be found.
For a second, it looked like Dagren was about to have an aneurism, with his eye twitching heavily behind his goggles. However, he instead took some deep calming breaths and grasping his ears in frustration, he quickly left the building leaving TS13 behind, who blissfully unaware of the situation at hand.

Out of the frying pan...

((Finally got it done. I'll admit that it's not that long, but my lack of computer time and a major decline in my imagination isn't making this any easier.))

Rultaos

Rultaos approached the Slag-walker and Thorn the Sprite. Before calling out to them however, he decided to let them finish their conversation. "You know what, why don't you get back to the fountain!? There's no amusement in messing with you if we don't even get a reaction." The Slag-walker said. "Well, thank you for letting me leave. Umm, can you point me in the right direction? I always forget where it is." Thorn replied.

"Head down that path, you can't miss it. Than again I wouldn't put it past you..." Slag-walker said mockingly. Rultaos could see how they assisted the Sprites. He only hoped that they would have skilled fighters as well.

After Thorn left, with a vacant expression on his face, Rultaos approached the Slag-walker and greeted the latter. "Long Live Vanaduke." Rultaos said. "Glory to the Citadel." The Slag-walker replied. Rultaos lowered his voice "The Phoenix expires." He said in an almost whisper. "And new life shall rise." The Slag-walker replied. "I don't know who you are, but if you know about what you've spoken then I assume you are a friend." He continued.

"No, I am not part of your group. However it is vital that I speak to your leader. where do you operate from?" Rultaos explained. "Hmm, I'm not sure if I can trust you... I shall bring you to our leader, but we will be watching you." The Slag-walker said; they obviously thought that they had a good chance of besting him since he lacked a shield.

"Good enough, however I have a friend here and I would like to bring him with me." Rultaos told the Slag-walker. "No, you go alone. We do not trust you, and we cannot risk the life of our leader like that." The burning zombie replied as he headed for the elevator. As the two stepped inside, rultaos hoped that Hanaphs would be able to handle himself while he dealt with the Phoenix Ash.

"Where are we going?" The Trojan asked. "The Ashen Armory." The Slag-walker replied curtly as the elevator descended.

Kalor

Kalor peered through a pair of binoculars into the home of Bettit, the nephew of one of the greatest minds in The Colony. He had been sent in advance to spy on them while the rest of the task force surrounded Stone Field borough. If their informant's information, and their theory, was correct then what they were looking for would be inside the household.

He was positioned inside a shabby, rectangular, two-story building that belonged to nobody. He had kept his cover by pretending that he was a newcomer to Emberlight. He had brought with him only one knapsack containing the tools he needed for his job.

He spoke into the comm unit mounted on his ear. "Bettit has just left the others, she is heading into another room with a box of tools. Her father and their visitor are still speaking with each other.

"*bzzt* What does their visitor look like?" His comm unit said. "He has grey fur, and appears to be wearing Mender clothing. It's hard to make out any more details from this distance. Can we run a background check on him?" Kalor asked. "Done, and we have no records of grey-furred menders. Get more details if possible." the man on the other side comm unit replied. "Understood. If we have no records, then he is either wearing a disguise, or painted his fur grey." Kalor reported in.

He continued to spy on Bettit, eventually, he saw her remove a box from the floor of the other room.

"Come in, Bettit has just extracted a strange item from the floor of the household. It matches the description of what we're looking for. Orders?" Kalor said. "Can you confirm that it is indeed what we are looking for?" The comm unit asked sternly. Kalor zoomed in the binoculars as much as he could and focused on the item. "Either it IS what we're looking for, or it's an identical copy. Yes, I can confirm." The Gremlin spy said.

The other side of the comm was silent for a while, but eventually it spoke. "Enter the household and take the item. Subdue everyone inside, but keep them alive for questioning."

"Yes sir." Kalor replied as he put down the binoculars. He grabbed his knapsack and pulled out two things: A small device that fits into locks of the typical Gremlin home in Emberlight, and a flash bomb. The bomb was said to temporarily deafen and blind anyone within range. If someone was still trying to fight him, he would incapacitate them with his Thwack Hammer. He took out the hammer from the knapsack. It looked too small to be the usual Thwack Hammer, but Kalor unlatched the bottom part and the handle became longer. He returned the the bomb and lockpick inside the bag, but he kept the Hammer out as he exited the building

He walked past 2 homes and crossed the walkway to reach their targets home. He pulled out the lockpick and attached it to the door. Hopefully it would be silent enough to let him keep the element of surprise. The small machine made a whirring sound as it unlocked the door. Once it stopped, Kalor put it back inside the pack and pulled out the flash bomb.

He opened the door as briefly as he could and tossed it inside. He waited for a few moments before he heard the explosion and kicked the door open, Thwack Hammer in hand.

((@Tev and Isis: You two have control of Kalor if you wish :). It should make writing easier if you two have full control of a fight scene, that is, if you want to fight >:). Oh, and if I'm interrupting anything, then finish whatever you two were planning before reacting to the spy's presence.

@Onidae: Feel free to submit an app :) Since we haven't formally accepted Toxic yet. And even if you don't get in then perhaps you can be a brainstorming partner for me and the mods. My imagination is currently at an all time low XD))

Again, it's not much, but it's something.

"That's a responsibility that I'm willing to take." Vakros said slowly, picking his way through his words. "So then, what's your field of work?" As he said this, he started digging through his small traveling pouch. He thought briefly of taking out a tiny gear and giving it to Muren, but he wasn't sure how that would go down. To be honest, he just wanted to go home as soon as he could. The gray gremlin didn't really know how to act in a household like this, and he had this constant feeling of being watched.

((I'm going to let Tev be the first to write about the whole CO break in...considering Bettie is the one with the box.))

((Sorry about being inactive. I've been busy trying to fix my old laptop, but it was to old. I got a new one, and then got everything running, so I now have a new laptop. YAY!))
As the explosion of the blast bomb had knocked the zombies forward, Terarr's lack of practice in both throwing and bombs had knocked Terarr and Jinks flying backward into a clump of bushes. They seemed to glow slightly, and Terarr got side-tracked in his curiosity. Jinks saw Terarr's lose of focus, and grabbed him. "Hey! We are in a battle here! We arn't doing nature study!" he yelled.
Terarr snapped back to focus just in time to see a wolver flying straight towards them. He once again jumped aside, but Jinks stood his ground and pulled out a deliciosly fried silkwing he was going to have for lunch, but saw a better use for it. He made sure the wolver saw it then threw it to the side. The wolver obviusly didn't enjoy silkwings as much as devilites, andf didn't take the bait. The wolver slammed right into... Nothing?
One of the zombies had untangled from the mess in the elevator, and saw Jinks in trouble. He grabbed Jinks right before the wolver hit him. The momentom of the leap made it immpossible for the wolver to stop, and it slid right into the glowing bushes. It exploded, killing the wolver knocking the zombie and Jinks back. When Terarr got blown back, he slammed right into a wall. Jinks quickly ran over to him, seeing that Terarr was only a little hurt, only knocked unconsience, he was releived. He knew little about doctoring, so he picked up Terarr and stuck him on a bush, so he would be comfertable when he woke up.
((Sorry about the horrible spelling. It turns out that this new laptop doesn't have a spell check. :\))

((@Roaku: Okay, go ahead and put in an app when you're ready!

@Ebil: I'll get to some more of the fight a little later today.

@Isis: When are you going to be on so we can get together and discuss this scene?

@Treaman: I'm sure with a bit of creativity, you can figure it out. You can always interrupt their conversation.))

((Err .... Azure? The room with the box was a windowless interior room- I suppose I should work on my description of scenery (in my head, most of the buildings are windowless and Gista has about a dozen custom locks on the door. XD). I'll just roll with it, though. Isis and I met in-game and worked out how this would go ... up to a point.

As for the gun puppies ... I don't know about the other one, but Tallith the Wise Slush puppy was killed for knowing the true purpose of the dark crystal, remember? XD))

Gremlins, Fight!

"So then, what's your field of work?"

"I'm a housing engineer." Teret glanced down at Muren as Vakros dug through his pouch. The young gremlin had finished transferring the bearings to the new container, and was meticulously transferring them back to where they had started. "I design residential buildings and sometimes oversee their construction."

He didn't get a chance to elaborate more, though, as the door to the small room Bettit and Gista had disappeared into opened and the two of them stepped out, Bettit holding a small box.

"Got it," she said with a smile that had very little to do with what she was holding as she started walking over to rejoin her friend. "We should probably- do you hear that?"

The demo paused and turned her head quizzically toward the door, the other adult's gaze following just in time to see it open a crack and something come rolling in before it slammed shut again. Quickly recognizing the thing as some sort of bomb, she tossed the box at Vakros, who automatically put his hands up to catch it as Bettit darted over, half-diving to make a grab for the explosive.

She was too late. The thing exploded with a brilliant flash of light, blinding and deafening everyone in the room.

* * * * *

Kalor kicked the heavy door in, noting that it didn't open fully before coming to a stop; there must have been someone just on the other side. He kicked it again with a heavy THUD (or two, rather, as whoever it was hit the ground) and stepped inside, looking down to see one of the targets, Bettit, laying prone. The door must have hit her fairly hard; a lump was already swelling above her temple, the skin slightly broken and bleeding sluggishly.

Mentally shrugging, the spy took a quick survey of the rest of the room; the mender was holding the box. He moved to secure the item, but the grey gremlin seemed to recover from the effects of the flash bomb surprisingly fast; he blinked a few times, and his gaze slid past Kalor to see the other gremlin on the floor before he darted in that direction.

Kalor took a swing at the mender, who ducked, the thwackhammer grazing his ears. He brought the hammer around for another swipe, but aborted the attack as something hot hit him in the back of the head and trickled down his neck. He turned just in time to see a now-empty pipe clatter off his shoulders to the floor, and the man of the house squinting at him as he brandished a stool.

* * * * *

Gista screamed and backed up against the wall once her vision had returned enough to see the intruder swinging a thwackhammer around her living room. Nearly frozen in terror, her hands fluttered toward her stomach in an unconscious protective gesture as her eyes darted around the room searching for her son. Not turning her head to look lest she call attention to him, she finally spotted Muren in one of his habitual hiding spots, wedged between the back of the sofa and the wall.

Hopefully, the intruder hadn't noticed him before and he would be safe there ... with her son hidden and her daughter already injured, the only thing Gista thought she could do was protect her last child by staying out of the fight.

* * * * *

Vakros was in no position to dodge again directly after ducking the first swipe of the intruder's thwackhammer, so he was relieved to see the other gremlin turn in response to being hit in the back of the head with Teret's pipe.

The mender used the reprieve to set the box down in the nearest chair and swing his wrench wand around into a fighting position as he assessed the situation; Bettit was already down with an injury (whether the culprit had been the door or the actual attacker, Vakros was unsure), her father was readying to block a thwackhammer with a wooden stool of all things, and her mother seemed to be entirely out of her wits against the far wall. Muren was nowhere to be seen.

Furious, Vakros charged the intruder, crazily swinging his wrench as the thwackhammer connected with Teret's stool, splintering the top and staggering him a step. The older gremlin planted his foot squarely on Muren's container of bearings, which slid out from under him and sent him backward to the floor.

At the same time, Vakros' wrench landed a glancing blow down the intruder's back, and the latter returned his attention to the only one in the room with a viable weapon. The mender and the thwacker traded a few blows; the mender took the brunt of the hits, and fear started creeping in upon Vakros' anger as he realized he was outmatched.

* * * * *

Teret scrambled to his feet, kicking bearings out of his path as Bettit's friend duked it out with the intruder. His mind raced with mingled fear and determination to protect his family as he dashed to grab the heavy hammer that had been leaning half-forgotten against the wall since he had used it to fix the roof a few decacycles ago.

Winding the thing back over his shoulder, he swung it into the thwacker's side. The older gremlin did't have time to react as the intruder reflexively made a wild swing in response.

The last thing Teret saw was the head of the thwackhammer coming toward his face before everything went black and he crumpled to the ground.

* * * * *

This was getting ridiculous.

Kalor hadn't expected this group of gremlins to put up much of a fight, but here he was with a potential broken rib and a mender crazily swinging a wrench wand at him. The mender already had to have been injured - he had connected with enough hits to break several ribs himself - and he wasn't supposed to kill him.He registered the sound of the female gremlin screaming from where she had stood throughout the altercation, but paid it little heed. It was time to end this.

The thwacker stepped backward a few paces, careful not to trip over the fallen gremlin or his hammer. He frowned inwardly as he dug a stun vial out of his bag; the growing pool of blood beneath the other's head indicated that he had struck him harder than intended.

As the mender reeled back for another swing, a snarl curling his lip, Kalor chucked the vial of liquid at him. The mender staggered a bit and dropped his wrench wand, his eyes unfocused. Rushing in to shoulder him in the chest while he was still stunned, Kalor knocked the other gremlin to the ground and wrestled him into position as he drew a length of cord from his bag. When the mender's wrists and ankles had been bound and his arms secured to his sides, the spy turned his attention to the female gremlin. She still seemed frozen, which was good enough for him at the moment.

Kalor activated the com unit as he strode over to the chair on which the box lay, picking it up and examining it closely. "Come in. I've secured the box and subdued the subjects," he said into it as he stepped back over to Teret's body, picking up the mender's oddly-colored wrench wand on the way. He nudged the other gremlin's head with a foot so that he could see the pulpy injury and open eyes.

"Although we seem to have had a casualty."

((Yup. I went there. Been planning it for awhile, actually.

I figure Muren was sitting on the floor behind some furniture and not visible from the vantage point. If they had been observing the family for awhile and know about him, they'd also know he's essentially mute and useless for questioning.))

The end of the Raving Rabids

As Blouri blasted the last of the rabid wolvers into a waiting zombie, Mialii took stock of her team; she and the other Kat were both unhurt, but they had lost one zombie and three were badly injured. The rest were in various states of needing minor medical attention. She caught sight of Jinks, who also seemed unharmed, and after a moment she noticed Terarr lying in a bush. She wasn't quite sure how that happened.

"Is Terarr alright?" the nurse mewed at Jinks as she removed some ecto drops from her medical pouch and started tending to the most severely-injured of the zombies.

((OMG ... this stuff is hard to write with an endless string of children's songs playing on YouTube three feet away. D: Please excuse any errors or profound lapses in judgement.))

Shenanigans in Haven (Pt.2)

((After Tevokkia's rather dark post, have a more lighthearted one!))

-000-

Wonder of wonders! Fridge had found another mecha knight in this place! It was painted a bright red color with a single blue optic. It was standing in a corner of the bazaar surrounded by tools and other miscellaneous bits of metal. Fridge greeted it with a friendly hello and a wave of his hand. The other mecha knight didn't respond. Puzzled, Fridge approached to take a closer look. On the surface it seemed to be in working order, but apparently something was broken. Opening its chest plate in curiosity, Fridge suddenly stepped back as a jumbled mess of parts fell out. No wonder this thing wasn't working right! Good thing Fridge had his own schematics coded into his memory. With a few deft maneuvers, the parts were installed in the correct position and everything looked functional.

However, he was suddenly interrupted from his thoughts by a gasp to his left. Taking a quick look, Fridge found himself facing at a strange yellow knight with beady eyes. He had some metal parts in his arms, but they quickly dropped to the ground as he stared at Fridge. To be honest, his intense stare was kinda scaring Fridge...
"...Hello?" Fridge greeted uncertainly.
The beady-eyed knight was suddenly in front of his faceplate as he began excitedly babbling at high speed:
"Ohmygosh! A fully functioning mecha knight! And it talks!"
The overly-excited knight then grabbed Fridge's arm and began inspecting it closely.
"Such precise craftmanship! I've never seen welding like this on standard mecha knights! You must have been created by quite the talented mechanic!"

At this point, Fridge really wanted to get away from the knight. Yes, he was friendly, but this was getting a bit too personal for his taste.
Suddenly, the yellow knight reached into his tool belt and brought out a drill and some pliers.
"You MUST let me examine you closer!" he said as he began stepping towards Fridge somewhat menacingly.
With a cry of alarm, Fridge scrambled away in a panic with the crazy knight running after him.

As they both ran away, both failed to notice that the red mecha knight's optic flickered on for a second before dimming again.

-000-

Dagren was in a foul mood as he stomped through Haven asking around if anyone had seen the wayward mecha knight. Several knights, especially the younger ones, seemed to be slightly frightened by his demeanor. Either way, it seemed that everyone he talked to didn't want anything to do with him, both because he was a strange gremlin and also because his attitude didn't do him any favors. Dagren then sat down in front of the fountain in the center plaza and again tried to calm himself down. Perhaps if he tried relaxing a bit, he would have more luck talking to the knights. Listening to the soothing sound of flowing water from the fountain, he slowly came out of his frustrated state of mind. He was disturbed from his moment of zen by a small tap to his shoulder.

"Eh?" he muttered as he turned around to see a young female knight staring at him curiously. She was in proto gear and probably fresh from the rescue camp.
"What do you want kid?" He wearily asked the girl. Instead of answering, she fondled Dagren's ears and the remaining patches of untouched fur on his head, giggling all the while.
"Alright, alright, enough already!" Dagren snapped, beginning to feel a bit uncomfortable being touched like that.
"Fuzzy." she simply replied, again touching Dagren's fur.
Dagren got up and started walking away, not wanting to deal with her. Unfortunately, the girl was not satisfied yet and started following him.
"Leave me alone!" Dagren yelled, hoping to intimidate her. She just kept smiling serenely and following him.
"Seriously! I mean it!" This time though, his voice had a slight quiver to it, and he was backing away uneasily from the young knight.
With a predatory grin, the girl kept approaching closer and closer.
Dagren let out a surprisingly shrill yelp as he ran as fast as he could away from the stalker knight. The girl kept up that creepy grin as she pursued her prey.

Some knights observing this simply shook their heads in sympathy for the poor gremlin.

-000-

Fridge "gasped" for breath as his internal vents struggled to take in air to cool his systems down. He was hiding in a small dark alleyway as he tried to avoid the yellow knight and his terrifying power tools. Luckily, it seemed that he had given him the slip. Cautiously, he stuck his head out and took a look around. The coast was clear. Perhaps he could finally resume his exploration of the place... albeit in a more cautious manner. He spotted an orange knight that was doing something in front of a blue box. Ever curious, Fridge approached him.

-000-

Halcus was a young knight that was gradually working his way up the ranks. He wasn't a complete stranger to the clockworks, although he was still inexperienced. At the moment, he was facing an Alchemy Machine and pouring in the materials required for a Brandish.
"Alright, a few Dark Shards and then we should be good..." He said to himself cheerfully.
He was about to activate the machine when all of a sudden he felt a presence behind him. Cautiously, he turned around to come face-to-face with a strange blue mecha knight that had been looking over his shoulder. With a cry of alarm, he backpedalled away from it, shaking a bit in fear. That fear soon turned into confusion when he saw that the mecha knight wasn't attacking. In fact, it was giving a very polite wave of its hand.

Still slightly in shock, Halcus gave a small, uncertain wave of his own. The mecha knight then offered him a hand and pulled him back into a standing position.
"Are you some sort of mecha knight kit?" Halcus inquired. The mecha knight simply gave a shrug.
Seeing as the mecha knight seemed friendly enough, Halcus assumed that it was some sort of super advanced mecha knight kit. Score! Now taking on the clockworks should be much easier with some help! The standard mecha knight kits blindly attacked whatever enemy they saw, but this one appeared quite intelligent.
"Wanna help me out on a mission?" He asked the mecha knight.
It seemed surprised at this suggestion, but it gave a hesitant nod.
"Cool! Follow me to the Arcade!" Halcus said as he grasped the mecha knight's hand, leading him onward.

My Renegade

Name: Tappet

Race: Gremlin

Gender: Male

Personality: Quiet, stealthy, attentive to everything, cautious of everyone. Rarely trusts anyone and rarely believes that socialisation is something outside the giving and taking of orders. Overall bad socialistion skills.

Appearance: Stands unusually more upright than the average gremlin, has a vertical scar accross his right eye, wears the Shadowsun set.

Equipment: Shadowsun set, Blackhawk, Storm Driver, Magnus, Vile striker, Barbarous thorn shield.

Skills: Skilled Gunslinger, Good in quick swordfights but weak in extended periods of close quarters combat, Very stealthy and fast.

Biography: Born in Emberlight, Tappet gained useful information from knights and learnt much about the monsters existing within the Clockworks while growing up. He experimented with the weapons used by knights, and discovered his skill in using guns and failure in bombing. He gained his current personality when a group of Ironclaw Gremlins tortured him in a Slimeway for the fun of it, saying that he was not a true Gremlin and deserved to die. Fortunately, Tappet was saved by a knight who killed his tormentors swiftly with a Dread venom striker and took him back to Emberlight. The knight, feeling that Tappet was a trustworthy Gremlin offered to teach Tappet how to defend himself in the future, and Tappet accepted. He then learnt how to be stealthy, fast in his steps, quick with a blade and alert at all times. His experience in guns came from his own personal training.

Additional facts: Has a soft spot for wolver pups.

Suggestions: None

((Groan. Sorry for the long time no writing, my excuse is below)

Talbot finished packing his camp up. Surprisingly small for such a camp. He walked over to the lift, and looked at the gate map. A nice new warm and fiery wolver den a little down. He pressed down. He really, really badly, needed to learn coordinates of the levels. He had seen gremlins use them once, and wished he could do the same. He would have been working in it in his spare time, but all his time was spare in a sense. He pressed down and waited for the lift to shudder into life. *Poof…* The lift landed with a bang. He looked up at the wild path, getting his swords out and ready he passed through the one-way gate. And walked onwards. Entering a large space full of crystal blocks he readied his Acheron guessing it would be slimes. Breaking open one wall, a quick jump killed the oiler. Quickly dancing around the oilers after smashing the rest of the crystal walls, Talbot charged his Acheron and, with perfect timing, the explosions killed all but one oiler. The oiler had been hit, unluckily, hitting it into a fire great. As soon as it had stopped sliding, it started oozing towards Talbot who was at the other side of the clearing. This set off all of the oil spilled when Talbot had released the charge. Luckily for Talbot he was wearing his volcanic plate set, he wasn’t badly hurt. Running to the edge of the flame, Talbot looked through the blazing flames for the oiler that had started this. There, a spike was all that was needed; he set off his swords charge once more, just missing the oiler. But by now the flames were dying down, though the floor was still burning, he idly walked over to it and stabbed it straight through. [Stupid and simple things] he thought as he crosses the fire grate. Except for one small area, Talbot found it particularly easy to go through the depth. “Two more depths to go, two more places to waste time” Talbot laughed to himself as he pressed the down button. The next depth was a rabid wolver den. Talbot made sure to stay in the shadows as walked through to the clearing with a party button in the centre.

MUST. EXPRESS. CONCERN.

Geez that title saying that there's one position open temps me, but dayum 14 pages of text is something i dont have the attention span to read xD.

And I doubt that any of you are willing to summarize 14 pages of text.

I could join now and be completely clueless on what happened, or not join at all.

Summary!

((I don't mind summarizing 14 pages of text if you're serious about submitting an app (please no more gremlins ... we have too many!). A lot of the text is OOC communication, or a fairly short event/conversation taking many posts due to the number of people involved, so the only reason it would take a lot of time is if you wanted a play-by-play of each character.

After discoveries made by the gremlin Torx, the Renegades decided that the best way to help the Knights off of Cradle was to combat the Swarm, which is currently controlling the Crimson Order. They started by heading to Moorcroft to do some research, where they were interrupted by an attack from The Defiler, a part-knight amalgam creature that has been running rampant in the Clockworks and taking over several of the deeper levels. The fight was brutal, but the Renegades escaped after the battle caused great damage to the deeper areas of the Manor.

Upon the 'Gades return to the Treasure Vault, their secret headquarters accessible only through special elevators, Torx recognized one of the new recruits who had been picked up on the Moorcroft expedition, Bettit, from his time in the colony; her family had possession of an item crucial to getting into the Sanctuary Vault to access what they needed to battle the swarm. Meanwhile, a device was set off in the middle of the Treasure Vault that proved to be something given to one of the gremlin Renegades by Crimson Order associates; an interrogation of the traitor led to the discovery that the CO has some way to track the Renegades' movements.

The initial plan was to mount a massive attack on the Colony's Grand Palace to distract the CO while Torx, Bettit, and the mender Vakros retrieved the item, but Rultaos and Takun (who I'm assuming you read about on the first page) thought it better to recruit more creatures first. Several parties were sent out:

*the Phantom Elias and Quicksilver Snarp were sent out to do recon in gremlin territories; on the way, they have discovered Renegade-hopeful Netlom the Ashtail

*Cryo-Knight Fridge, Redward Test Subject 13, and gremlin mechanic Dagren headed to Haven with a special Knight escort to deliver a message to Captain Oslo about stealth assistance for the attack, but met with another attack by the Defiler on the way and escaped in a rather close call with the Knights that had been sent to meet them; the team is currently waiting in Haven for further orders

*the Retrode Scharr, who was supposed to accompany the Haven team, fled to the Ironclaw Munitions Factory due to a set of overrides in his programming that makes him attack Knights on sight (which he had not disclosed to Rultaos, or anyone else), where he met Tickafir, a gremlin mender/engineer who hopes to win a spot in the Renegades by bringing them stolen war machines; they are currently locating the machines

*Konjuring Kat, who had been brought to the Vault after a ritual rendered him comatose directly before the Moorcroft incident, Mialii the spookat nurse, Terarr the devilite trap-maker, and an escort of zombies were dispatched back to Moorcroft to recruit there; Kat remained in Moorcroft while Mialii and Terarr headed back toward the Vault with the Blookat Blouri and devilite Jinks, but are currently stuck in a rabid wolver den due to a faulty elevator; a recent battle with a pack of rabid wolvers has left Terarr and several of the zombies injured, and one of the zombie escort dead

*Rultaos and the Slag Guard Hanaphs headed out to Firestorm Citadel to rendezvous with an associate of Rultaos' and hopefully gain the assistance of the Phoenix Ash; Rultaos is currently on his way to speak with their leader while Hanaphs maintains their cover in the Charred Court

*Bettit, Vakros, and a team of other gremlins headed out to Emberlight to recruit from there; rather than recruiting, Bettit and Vakros headed straight to the home of her parents to retrieve the item, hoping to avert the battle that would be taking place if they brought Torx with them to get it; they're currently at the home, having just been subdued by a Crimson Order spy who had been tailing them

For a more detailed version of where everyone is currently, the last two pages of reading would suffice.))

Feh

100 moderately lengthy posts are still a lot.

anyways, i think i join this, just to keep me busy.

Name: Triav

Race: Devilite

Gender: Male

Personality: Fidgety, impatient, constantly mumbles comprehensible gibberish (The kind that doesn't makes sense but everyone understands it non the less). Once he gets his "coffee", he quiets down and relaxes enough for comprehensible speech. He isn't as insane as many thinks he is, but so as long as he has his "coffee", he'll be fine. Enjoys reading The Anarchists' Cookbook. When he isnt insane, it shows that he cares and loves for all things and doesnt wish for their immediate destruction. But even in his tranquil state, he can be instantly sent back to insanity if the mere reminder of work finds its way into his attention. He treats fighting Knights like a game; and he's playing it for the game's own sake.

Appearance: He wears a face paint to resemble Unstable Explosive Jelly, a blood red beret, a pair of circular glasses, an unbuttoned office shirt collar with no tie and plenty of mini-nade and bombs strapped onto him.

Equipment: a Devilite sized supply pack, A multiple set of mini-jell-o-nades and 1 Spiralian Blast Bomb.

Skills: His physiology to not die, but gets punctured and deflate. He carries around a patch kit and a tank of dark essence to fix himself up. Has a great throwing right arm and quick to dodge attacks.

Biography: He once lived a mundane life of office work, paperwork after paperwork, filing orders and invoices day in, day out. Until the knights came and made everything in the office hectic. Everything was a mess and was needed yesterday. There was to breaks and there was no going back home either. Most only fainted from exhaustion or suffered severe coffee breakdowns. Everything was in turmoil.

Unable to bode with 24/7 overtime, Triav snapped. He killed his boss and everyone else in the area. He utterly destroyed his workplace in less than a day and is immediately sent to a Devilite sanatorium. But the padded walls and soft floors did stop him. He broke out and through will power, manage to calm himself down to find that anarchism is really enjoying.

He found out that throwing bombs at knights is very stress relieving and cooking up better bombs is very entertaining. One day, he faced off against his Spiralian Knight counterpart, a Mad Bomber. He and the Knight went head to head with their bomb throwing and utter destruction, all the while discussing about the day like nothing is happening. They both failed at eradicating each other and the Knight was still very alive. But before leaving, the knight gave the little Devilite a Blast Bomb as a gift for giving him a great time. Triav will always remember that crazy Knight.

But over time, his passion for blowing knights to smithereens for pure mindless fun has long dissipated, his string of easy victories made his game less enjoyable. and now has set himself up for hire. He heard about the Renegades and his explosive inner anarchist sparked back to life with hope to blow more things up for the sake of it.

Additional facts: His so called "Coffee" is nothing more than tea. He doesnt like people knowing he drinks it. He keeps a big flask of it with him. He become even more unstable if he runs out of it and is willing to detonate anyone who prevents him from getting any more.

Suggestions: None

Seal of the Rebellion: T.C.R.

Hope this gets considered.

Retreat

"Um.. guys?" Elias could see a large contingent of gremlins, frostifurs, and constructs heading toward them, and from the faint senses he gathered from being so far away, he could at least tell that none of them were too happy, "too many to fight, we gotta go!"
1 of the gremlins turned, and Elias had a start as he realized this gremlin had found what the group was looking for: them. As the group began to race in their direction, Elias used the yet-unclaimed heating vest he had made and melted the ice and snow across the span of the path and 5 feet along its length. Grabbing Snarp and signalling Net to follow, he fled from the giant puddle he had created and detached his pulsar from the vest. As they ran, he set the gun to rifle mode and checked the progress of the gremlins. When they were inches from the puddle, he fired 2 rounds, the first knocking back anything that got past the puddle, the second electrifying the entire patch of pathway, electrocuting the contingent. That won't hold them for long, I need to find a way outta here.
They entered a small room, dead-ended by a previously used party switch. going that way won't help, we'd be back where we started. he thought. He noticed that to the left was another path with about a 20ft gap between them. At that moment, Elias got 1 of those 'crazy enough to work' ideas. "Snarp, I can't carry both of you, so I need u to mold yourself as tightly as you can against Net..." He sensed Snarps puzzlement change to horror as Elias leapt over the gap with the use of thoughts of a light silkwing in his head. He took the wires of the vest apart, exposed the plasma cell he had modified the pulsar with, and wrapped the cords around it to amplify its power. "I really hope i don't overload it with the weight," he concerned himself, then to Snarp, "Ready?... I'm sorry!"
Elias placed the same magnet as before into the barrel, sensed Snarp's dread as he braced himself and Nets confusion as to what he meant. Elias pulled the trigger as he imagined himself as a boulder to weigh himself down and braced against a rail. A second later, the force of the gun pulling at the coil in Snarp and the weight of him and Net pulled the wind out of him, but he was able to keep himself steady as the 2 were flung off the edge and downward into space, only to be swung in an arch to 10ft below him. Straining to keep steady, he increased the power setting on the pulsar. He could feel the gun getting hotter and hotter as his anchor inched upward. Just as he imagined it would explode, he was able to take 1 hand away and grip on of the spikes on Snarp and pull him up with 2 grunted heaves.
As the 3 of them sat, Elias panting in exhaustion with a scorch mark from the overheating magnet, he apologized again to Snarp for putting him through that again, left the cords on the plasma cell, since they were too hot to remove yet, and turned to see the bewildered faces of the gremlins who finally arrived after their preliminary shock. "They don't know whats happened yet, so lets get moving before they spot us again. Oh, here Net, try some of these, they should warm you up a bit." He handed her the peppers he had dug out of his pack, and hoped she would take them as he started walking through the corridor ahead.

Net suddenly noticed a large number of gremlins and other creatures coming towards him. Elias seemed to see them too as he grabbed the quicksilver and dashed off. Net bounded after him.
A moment later, she had a shock as she noticed he possessed a gun; not being familiar with guns, she couldn't say what it was, but she could tell it was a thing of great power.
She was proved right as the blue phantom let off two blasts, that expanded after a second and then exploded with a blinding burst of blue light. Still running, and not looking where she was going, she smashed into a gate.
"Not again," she muttered.
She picked herself up and turned. Elias was facing a walkway to the side of the gate, divided by a twenty-foot gap. Saying something quietly to Snarp, he leaped across the gap. Slightly confused, Net was distracted by a gooey feeling on her side. Snarp?
"Wooooooaaaaaah." In an instant she was off ground and hanging in midair, some way below the Cooling Chamber. Trying not to squeal, she tried to unfold her wings; but they were frozen and remained hidden in her fur. But, the phantom was somehow pulling them up and she was soon scrabbling at the ragged edge of the metal as the phantom took hold of Snarp.
After a few moments of getting cold again, Elias said "They don't know what's happened yet, so let's get moving before they spot us again. Oh, here Net, try some of these, they should warm you up a bit."
Net eagerly took the peppers he handed her and gulped them down. She finally felt better after such a long time of freezing- better not think of that.
She hurried after him as he set off along the platform.
But she could sense something ahead.
"Careful," she whispered quickly. "There's something ahead, and it seems to be rather powerful."

Rultaos

The Trojan and the Slag-Walker stepped off of the elevator as it stopped on the Ashen Armory. Left and right there were zombies and Trojans mulling about, along with the occasional Slag-guard. The place was as crowded as ever.

"Doesn't it endanger your group to stay in places like this?" Rultaos asked as they walked through a crowd of Slag-walkers. "No, in fact it helps us. With so many people around it will be hard to tell unusual activity from usual activity." the Slag-walker boasted, but in a quiet tone. [This warrior takes pride in his allegiance...] Rultaos thought.

He could see Trojans equipping blades and shields, Slag-walkers sharpening their nails, and Slag-guards testing their spears on burnt wooden poles. Rultaos pitied the Knight that wandered inside with the bolstered defenses. Even if they did not die, this experience would scar them emotionally. As if on cue, a Slag-walker leaped across the rooftops of the buildings and shouted "Knights! On the path to the left up ahead! 3 of them, we need back-up!"

The crowd suddenly went mobile; all the warriors that were stationary before began to move with surprising speed. In order to avoid suspicion, Rultaos and the Slag-walker ran alongside the crowd. "Where do you think you're going!" A gruff voice said behind them. The two froze in fear. Had they been detected? They prepared for the worst.

They looked around. A Trojan Knightmare stood behind them carrying two shields instead of 1, and a sword sheathed in his waist. He thrust the Knightmare shield at Rultaos "You never run under-equipped into battle! What were you thinking? I want to see your commanding officer after these Knights are dealt with, understand?!" The Trojan Knightmare said. "Yes sir! Sorry sir, I got too excited and rushed in without using my head." Rultaos replied apologetically. "Then get going!" The Knightmare said as he marched past the two.

Rultaos and the Slag-walker looked at each other for a moment before speaking. "I thought that was it for a minute there." The Slag-walker said. "Well, you got a new weapon and earned my trust." he continued. Rultaos looked quizzically at his companion "How so?" he asked. "Well, if you were indeed a spy, then that Trojan would not have minded you. That, and I saw the look of fear on your face when he called you out. I knew then that you were an enemy of my enemy, and why I now accept you as a friend. You may call me Zaalthan" The Slag-walker replied.

"I am Rultaos. Pleased to make your acquaintance Zaalthan." Rultaos said as he slid the Knightmare shield on his stone arm. "Now, where do we go from here?" he continued. In response, Zaalthan continued down the main path until they reached a crossroad; one path went left, the other went right. "We head down the right path. Knights don't pass through as much and therefore less guards." Zaalthan explained.

Since the crowd was heading for the Knights, they went through the left path, and so Rultaos and Zaalthan encountered no on else as they passed by.

A few meters through the path, Zaalthan stopped and tapped the floor with his feet. He tapped 3 times to his right, 2 times to his left, and then 4 to his front. "Argh, getting in is always a pain..." He grumbled. Eventually, the floor gave way and revealed an opening just large enough for a Trojan to fit through. "Quick! Get inside before anyone looks!" Zaalthan said as he jumped down. Rultaos hesitantly followed suit; the edges barely grazed him as he fell through the hole. It was a 1 second drop.

Zaalthan was climbing up a large ladder and replaced the missing piece of the floor. The only sources of light they had now was the torches that lined the walls. "Welcome to The Urn. Our base of operations. Follow me, i'll take you to our leader." Zaalthan said as he jumped down the ladder. The Slag-walker moved ahead as Rultaos followed suit.

Captain Raikap

The Darkfang scorcher had his mask up as he surveyed Stone Field Borough. He never expected the Crimson Order to be interested in such a quiet little town. However, it was a direct order from the Order itself and so it was supposed to be an honor. But Raikap didn't see it that way.

[When they talk about honor, I think important battles and miraculous victories, not the subjugation of a peaceful town...] He thought. Despite his opinion he had no choice but to follow, since disobedience to the Crimson Order was considered treason against King Tinkinzar himself. Then again, no one had seen the man personally for a long time.

The comm unit in his ear crackled to life in the middle of his daydreaming. "Captain, come in." it said. Raikap pressed his finger against the device "This is Captain Raikap, what's the problem?" He said. "Begin the takeover of the Borough, now." The Gremlin on the other side said sternly. "Yes sir." Raikap replied. He brought down his mask and began tinkering with his welding torch. With the click of a button it would launch a deadly projectile or a jet of flame

He prayed to the spirits that he would not have to use it.

He returned to his contingent that was standing at attention even though he had only just returned. then he remembered that they had a Crimson Order member with them. "All right troops listen up!" He said, slightly muffled by the mask. "We have been ordered to continue the takeover of Stone field Borugh. Remember, march through and block off all entrances in and out of the city. Avoid violence at ALL costs. Use non-lethal force to subdue anyone that attacks you. Unless faced with a life or death situation, do not use your weapon!" Raikap said with authority.

"Sir yes sir!" The soldiers said. They were obviously trying to make a good impression on the Crimson Order member with them, either in the hopes of being invited or simply out of respect.

"My team will enter the town and accompany the Crimson Order representative to the town's leader while the rest of you isolate the area. No one is allowed to round up civilians until we have the permission of the local authorities. Move out!" Raikap finished.

The contingent began moving towards Stone Filed Borough in strict formation. Raikap approached the Crimson Order member in blood red robes and a hood. "How do you plan on getting the locals to cooperate sir?" Raikap asked. "Diplomacy, captain. However, if that fails to work then I have the ability to commission all of you to use whatever means necessary to make this town cooperate." The Hooded Gremlin said as he walked away, following the contingent.

The captain had a worried face under his mask. He prayed fervently that he was not making a mistake in agreeing to do this mission.

Ok, back to RPing!

When Jinks put Terarr on the bush, he turned around and got back into the battle. Well, he would have if the battle was still going. Then, a female voice said, "Is Terarr all right?" Jinks turned and noticed Mialii tending to a zombie, while looking in his direction. "I don't know. I'm not exactly known for being a docter. You're the nurse, you find out." Jinks turned again and looked down at Terarr. "I think he's alright. He's got a knocked unconsience when he slammed into a wall, so I can't ask him." The Jinks got an idea. Not a very good one, but he thought it was perfect. Jinks slapped Terarr. Terarr didn't do anything in return, being unconsience and all. Jinks slapped him again. Nothing. Another slap, and another slap, and another. "Wake up!" Jinks yelled at Terarr. Jinks started shaking him to try to wake him.

Quit it, Jinks!

Mialii

Mialii harrumphed and went back to tending her injured zombie- she would check on Terarr in a few moments. Before she could get that far, however, she heard a loud SLAP! coming from the devilites' direction, followed by a series of them and Jinks yelling. Glancing over in alarm, the Spookat nurse saw what Jinks was up to.

"Oh for Vog's sake .... stop that!" She shot Jinks one of those looks that a Kat usually gets when they're about to take a bite out of something obnoxious. "If he has any injuries, you'll only make them worse!"

In a huff, Mialii finished stabilizing the injured zombie and then went to check on Terarr before Jinks knocked him silly. A few of the zombies, the uninjured ones or those who weren't badly hurt, snickered as she shooed the devilite off of his injured friend; it usually took a lot to ruffle the saccharine little nurse, but Jinks was managing nicely.

What we were sent for

((powerful, eh? well unless you had something else in mind or don't like what i came up with, Remi, i got a great idea))
Net's warning helped in spurring him onward as fast as the others could keep up. with turns every dozen yards or so, it was hard to tell what was coming. So far, so good, he thought, at least until he started feeling deep rhythmic vibrations in the ground, which soon turned in a loud clunk and clang of spinning metal gears and large feet against the frozen ground.
"Of all alchemical wonders, WHAT IS THAT!" Elias exclaimed as a huge mech rounded the corner of the corridor ahead. He stared in wonder at the marvelously huge gun puppy head mounted on birdlike legs and... the stockpile of intimidating weapons... all across the paneling. 0.o
"My pulsar is still overheated, but we HAVE to get past that thing FAST or those weapons will turn us into melted swiss cheese in an instant! Snarp... I never imagined it would be something like this, but we found what something we were sent out for."
As they began their mad sprint, 2 volcanic pepperboxes opened fire with a molted hail of bolts. Elias went to the head of the line, since he had a nearly unlimited physical constitution considering he would just go to a recovery state instead of dying... and because he hoped to break off one of the pepperboxes for himself.
((xplad and remi, when u post, u dont have to restate everything from the previous post, just point out the details that may affect ur character and continue the post with an advancement to the plot. ur short advancements r kinda leavin me hangin a bit :/ i feel like im doin all the work.
dont be afraid to be as creative as creation itself :D come up with an idea, and work with it until it either runs out, meets a dead end, or starts to go to far and its time to pass the baton. so get out there and lets see whatcha got :D i expect a good long post from each of u eventually :P))

Jinks glared at the spookat

Jinks glared at the spookat nurse, but did what he was told. He walked over to a bush, sat on it, but being a roundish devilite, he fell off. The undead snickered again. Jinks was getting angrier by the seacond. "Why did I come with this stupid group?" He thought angrily to himself. "It's Terarr's fault. I should have ignored him, but no. I had to listen to him." Jinks spent the time they weren't moving thinking thoughts like these. Then, Terarr stirred. He was okay! Jinks's angry thoughts evapurated immedeitly. His happiness made him fall off the bush. Again. The undead started laghing. Jinks's happiness countered the anger of being laughed at, but he wasn't as happy as he was when he saw that Terarr was okay.

((I can't think of a good way to stop! I feel that this is too sudden, but I couldn't think of any good ways to end. I guess you'll have to pick up on it here :\))

Edit: ((Tevokkia, you can decide when Terarr wakes up. I personally don't know when you want to get moving again.))

No subject line spam here, move along

The electrified blob sped across the clearing in a flash of bright blue, attempting to evade the hailstorm of fiery spheres the fully-automatic death dealers were spitting out at a regular rate. The others did the same, Netlom dodging the bullets with ease and Elias... rushing the thing???
Well, he's immortal, thought the blob. Unfortunately, the idle thought distracted the slime from its trajectory, leading to it smashing into the wall and bringing a pile of snow down on top of itself.
As the Quicksilver shook off the snow, an idea occurred to it.
Those Pepperboxes produce heat.
Heat melts snow to water.
Water jams guns.

((Sorry, Elias, you can't always have what you want.))

Finally ._.

((Sorry this took so long, I hadn't even noticed Scharr's reply until Tev pointed it out to me XD
also Azure, would Scharr count as a notable NPC?))

Conceding the point to the Retrode, Tickafir shut his trap, paying closer attention to his surroundings. "This seems to be the main docking port for those mechs, this panel aughta open it." the Mechanic mused to himself, examining the controls on it, "Hmm, this may take longer then i thought..."
Turning to Scharr, Tickafir stated, "I have two options here. I can easily open this and rewire it to open that door, but it would set an alarm off which would call quite a few constructs, and probably some gremlins as well. Or I could try to search for the code to activate it, but that would take a lot longer. If I were alone, I would go the long way, but since we're kind of in a rush to get out of here and get you fixed, I'm wanting the opinion of a combatant as well."

Fire?

When the creature opened fire, Net, after such a long time of practice, quickly began dodging it, but her mind was elsewhere. What was anything with fire, even a construct, doing in such a cold place?
Hearing a noise behind her, she whipped around to find that Snarp had crashed into the wall. At this she did stop, but she quickly started moving again when a spray of bullets pierced her.
She stopped again.
The bullets were sharp and painful, but there was something else in them.
Of course.
Fire.
She bounded towards the construct, swerving from side to side as the bullets, despite filling her with warmth, were not comfortable. But as she came closer she slowed down, certain that the guns were not the only weapons it had.
She was right, as one of its eyes fixed on her and a sharp sword that she knew had to be the Barbarous Thorn Blade, legendary among her kind, swiped at her.
Net hit the ground hard, and she could feel the ground burning away beneath her. The air left her lungs and she could hardly move, but staring up at the creature she scrambled to her feet.
She was a bit too late, as a heavier blade swung down at her, almost blowing her to safety with its power.

((Shortshort post. I did my best.))
((And ow... I'm used to putting my OOC in only one bracket. >.<))

I say, we can dance if we want to

The quicksilver watched as the Ash Tail was knocked a distance by a titanic blow. Now would be time to act.
Snarp promptly turned into a blue blur and took on a carefully calculated trajectory, hitting snow piles and kicking them up in the air, while attempting to "aim" some of them at the guns.

A sizeable chunk of snow landed squarely on one of the Pepperboxes. Snarp relaxed and watched as the gun fired a few bullets through the snow on its barrel, inevitably melting the frost. The gun jammed from the water, and the rotating barrel rotated faster, apparently trying to fire still. The gun started to smoke, give off sparks, and eventually, it burst into flames.
((Okay, took one of the guns out. Treaman, go ahead and pick the other one up. Watch out for bats. Eheheh.))

Escape... or is it?

((actually Remi, I thought that post was really good :D keep it up just like that and we'll advance this story in no time at all :) most of ur other posts may have been about the same length as that, but they took more than half of it to restate what happened before. this post, you summarized the end of mine and xplads in only a couple sentences, great work. Lets see what you can do in the future posts :) ))
As Elias dashed to dislodge the guns to not only disengage its primary weaponry, but to make it his own, he noticed that Snarp had fallen a ways behind and Net was taking quite a few rounds in as she bobbed, weaved, zigged and zagged in front of him. Moments later he saw the gremlin controlling the machine take a long pike tipped with a Barbarous Thorn from the back panel of the seat and start jabbing and swiping at Net.
Elias emotions flared immensely, Why would ANYONE try something so cruel to a poor wolver >:(, he thought. He felt cruel thoughts of his own edging at his subconscious toward the gremlin. Fear overcame him, and he metaphorically slapped his Flashbang consciousness, Im not falling for that, you psycho. Not now, not ever.
He hid behind one the the exposed pipes on the wall and began to rationalize the situation, though his plot soon altered slightly as a heap of snow flopped onto the mechs side, melted, and puffed back off one of the pepperboxes as it jammed and violently backfired. Elias then continued his mad dash as Net took another hit in the side. He leaped at the remaining gun and tore it off with a heavy boulder-imagined tackle, twisted and rolled into a crouch aimed at the mech as he landed, and opened fire on what he knew were bomb cartridges when he sensed the gremlin thinking about them and reaching for their switches.
"Lets go, I see the elevator right around this corner!" he exclaimed. As the Snarp passed by him on his way, Elias went to a spray and pray tactic on the gremlin, hoping to knock the spear out of its grasp, and instead caught its cape on fire. Elias snickered, Works for me XD. He dashed up and helped Net to her feet and waited for her to get don the path and cover for her before he himself retreated.
As he rounded the bend, he could sense that the gremlin was having some very wicked thoughts the long dash toward the elevator ended sooner than it should have as an immense heat engulfed his back, sending him flying far past the elevator, crashing a crater in the top edge of the wall, and hurling off into space once more. Roarmulous head, he gasped to himself, I should have known. An instant before he reverted to an orb once more, he gasped, "Not now, not again." He vision went red as he once more entered his inner ethereal world.
((@xplad/tev: 1 part of the mission is complete and an unexpected recruit was found, but Net would probably need some serious medical attention after what Remi posted happened to her. What if xplad returned to help Net, and tev came up with something to have Takun give Snarp to do about these newfound war mechs))
((I asked Tev about getting captured, but never actually gave details on it. He's going to end up a couple floors down and be picked up by gremlins who were sent by King Tinkinzar (figured this seemed like a realistic thing to have happen, u have intruders, ur gonna want them out of the way, especially if they just mangled 1 of ur newest war machines) to capture the 3 of them.))
((I figure they would take me right to the palace to question me when i wake up, and when I did, I could escape, retreat to the Vault, and inform the others of how I escaped and that it could be used as a means of infiltration, which in turn would complete the mission me and xplad are already on))
((@tev: this is why i asked about the capture :P))

Err...

((I never said she actually got hit. <.> Whatever. Bit late now.))

"Ouch," Net muttered, a bit of an understatement considering the large gash in her side. As her vision cleared, she noticed Elias next to her. He helped her up and walked off down the passage.
She was not sure what happened next, but suddenly Elias was flying off the level. She bounded to the edge, unable to do anything. A bit of wind-
Net leapt backwards as the Barbarous Thorn Blade swiped at her. Then the other sword.
Too bad, mech- oh. Gremlin. She was slowly learning its tactics.
And then a strange red and yellow thing dropped at her feet. She inspected it. A bomb. Which exploded, nearly choking her.
But Net was quite relieved. Aside from the fact that some of the mist got into her lungs and was rather painful, it was an elemental bomb and produced fire, both of which she resisted, so she was able to grin up at the gremlin, who scowled back.
Another object landed at her feet. Didn't look too friendly.
She gasped as this bomb exploded, filling her with spikes. As she was blasted away, a stray spike snatched at her paw and pinned it to the ground. Net wrenched it out, then looked around for Snarp.

I have nothing clever to put here today

((Nope, Aerorune, we haven't forgotten you- it's just that nobody has actually returned to base yet. Soon! Hopefully ... ))

Mialii

Mialii started checking Terarr for serious injuries, but she hadn't gotten halfway through her examination before he started to stir; apparently had had just been knocked silly by the blast.

"Oh good, you're awake," the nurse mewed as the little devilite opened his eyes and blinked up at her in a bleary sort of way. "Anything hurting? And you! Stop sniggering!" she added to the wisecracking undead, who had started telling off-color jokes among themselves.

It didn't take her long to finish the examination; he appeared unharmed, but she gave him a bit of Dark Matter suspension in case he was in any pain before turning her attention back to the rest of the zombies. As none of them were as badly injured as the first ones, the group was fit to resume moving shortly thereafter.

"Alright everyone, let's see if we can find ourselves another elevator before anything else happens," the Spookat told her crew. With that, they headed deeper into the Wolver Den.

((If the Den you ended up on was supposed to be this one, this is your cue, Tear! XD))

Scharr

"You overestimate the rush," Scharr stated. "While I wish to commence repairs as quickly as possible, it is unlikely that there will be any Knights here to cause a problem while you search for the code. Analysis indicates that attracting attention would be counterproductive: I estimate an 85% chance that it would result in our being unable to retrieve any of the machines."

Having said his piece, Scharr stepped away to stand guard while Tickafir did his work. It was difficult to predict his chance of success without more data, which concerned the retrode somewhat, but with such a poor projected outcome, he was willing to take his chances on this route. He also lacked the data to properly analyze the gremlin's chance of surviving an encounter should they attract attention, and he did not wish to risk losing the only possible source of repair he had found thus far.

Foreman Kexed

It was a bit later than Foreman Kexed had wanted to be in his office, but it had been a bit of a hectic work period and he was just now finishing up his paperwork. At this point, he was really looking forward to going home.

But it was not to be. A knock came on the door, and he wearily stood to answer it, pressing a knuckle to the spot between his eyes where he could feel the first inklings of a headache starting. Kex rather hoped that whatever it was wouldn't turn out to be a lengthy affair, despite the fact that it was likely important if they had bothered to navigate the construction zone around his office building after the lights had dimmed.

"Greetings," he started as he opened the door. "What can I-"

Kexed stopped his greeting abrubptly, the blood draining from his face, and cleared his throat as he took in the sight that met him. A whole contingent of Colony-uniformed gremlins stood, partly in the construction area and partly out. While that was worrying enough, one gremlin stood out: one hooded and swathed in robes of crimson.

The Foreman's mind raced- what had happened lately that might bring a member of the Crimson Order here? Had it been that business with Vitras? He couldn't see how that could be, considering everything (that he was aware of) had been cleaned up by now. Had someone from the Borough run afoul of the Colony somehow? Unlikely, as the only citizens who frequently left the Borough were his brother and Velt, who would have mentioned it if something had happened. And Gista's daughter, but she had been missing for ... well, even as accident-prone as Bettit was, Kexed doubted she would have been able to rile the Colony enough to warrant a visit.

"Well then. Ah ... what can I do for you?" Kex asked cautiously after clearing his throat a second time, an expression of worry crinkling his features. He was an average-looking gremlin in just about every way, the only exception being his particularly boring manner of dress. Truth be told, only in Stone Field would he be in any sort of leadership position, and even here he had only been the Foreman for a handful of cycles.

Whatever was going on, he wasn't ready for it. He just hoped that it wouldn't end in trouble for his people.

Fire and embers

((Sorry for my inactivity lately. Like I said before, I can only go online when my parents aren't using the laptop for work, and they always work on weekdays :/. Anyway, I will try to be active when I can.

Also, I've only just now noticed that my posts are very prone to grammatical and spelling mistakes. I don't usually notice this at first, but when I do I edit it ASAP. If you guys think I'm being a hypocrite with the rules for this, then sorry and don't use that as an excuse either for bad grammar.

@Ebil: I suggest you use programs such as Microsoft word if you want to improve your spelling and grammar. Type in what you want to post first, check and correct the mistakes the program points out, then simply copy paste.

@Tev: I'll be taking minor control of Foreman Kexed in the ensuing conversation here. Since he's your character, I'm not sure if I'll be able to portray his personality very well.))

Captain Raikap

The captain rapped on the door of what they believed to be the home of the borough's foreman. A Gremlin, a rather dull-dressed one answered the knocks. "Greetings, what can I-" he said but didn't finish. The color drained from the Gremlin's face as he faced the soldiers. [Understandable, since Emberlight's denizens aren't on good terms with The Colony] Raikap thought.

After a few moments of Raikap waiting for a response and the Gremlin staring at the contingent, the Gremlin spoke up "Well then. Ah ... what can I do for you?" he said. "We are here under direct orders from the Crimson Order. Our commander wishes to speak to the foreman of this borough." Raikap said with authority, his voice slightly muffled by the mask.

"That would be me. My name is Kexed, foreman of Stone Field borough." The Gremlin at the door replied. Raikap was slightly surprised by this statement. People in power usually had others take care of greeting guests for them, that and the way he had acted to the situation so far had made the Colony captain think that this one was nothing more than an assistant.

"Captain Raikap, Darkfang, of the 24th Elite Guard. Our commander is a member of the Crimson Order itself. His name shall be withheld." Raikap said formally. truth be told, he did not know the red robed Gremlin's name either, but it sounded more intimidating, and he had to show to the authorities of this town that The Colony was in charge now.

Raikap gestured at the CO member standing nearby to approach the building. The Gremlin in blood red robes nodded and began walking towards the door, flanked by 2 Ironclaw Thwackers. "Greetings Foreman Kexed, perhaps you would like to show us to your office?" The CO representative said in a polite, but cold manner.

"Of course, right this way." Kexed said as he held the door open and allowed the Darkfang Scorcher, the 2 Ironclaw Thwackers, and the CO member inside. Kexed felt that the moment he let them in, there was no walking away from what they were planning to do to Stone Field. He would soon discover that he was right.

Kalor

The spy had finished tying up the entire family along with the mother and mute child. Despite the only threats coming from Bettit and the Grey-furred mender, he couldn't risk any of them escaping. They would rile up the entire borough and lethal confrontation between The Colony and Emberlight was the last thing they needed.

The adult female looked in horror as Kalor lifted the body of Teret and put it in a corner so that it wouldn't trip him while he was walking. He then proceeded to close the blinds of the windows. He didn't want to attract any unwanted attention.

He returned his attention to his prisoners. He decided to start questioning them now so that he would have answers when the rest of his allies arrived. He pulled out the box and juggled it around in his hands tauntingly, emphasizing the fact that he had won. He turned to the female as Bettit and the grey-furred mender was still unconscious, or simply dazed.

"You wouldn't mind telling me how this little trinket has made it inside your house. Would you?" Kalor said in a mockingly polite manner. "I-I- do-don't know. I don't even know what's inside!" Gista said, full of fear. This was partially true as she had no clue about what was inside. "Really? Hmm, perhaps you will be a bit more cooperative after I "play" with your children." Kalor said.

He approached Muren who simply looked at him as he got closer and delivered a solid punch to the poor Gremlin's face. It was strong, but not enough to knock-out. Gista whimpered helplessly as she watched the spy hurt her son like that. "P-please stop! I'm swear I don't know anything!"

Kalor stood up, this time he believed her [Blast it, I'm going to have to wait for the other 2 to wake up before I get some answers] he thought angrily. He sat down on one of the chairs and examined the box. As much as he wanted to try and open it, he decided to give that honor to the Crimson Order, or perhaps King Tinkinzar himself.

He toyed with it as he waited for the demo and mender to awaken, oblivious to the despair that emanated from the once peaceful household.

((Tev and Isis: i'll let you guys take control of the interrogation from here since I don't want to take control of 2 people's personal characters at once without any permission. You have control of my NPC though :) ))

Rultaos

Rultaos and Zaalthan walked through the candlelit hallways. The walls were draped with banners that depicted a phoenix rising from ashes that contained the face of Vanaduke. He wondered what kind of man the leader of this group was [Well, I'm about to find out] He thought as the two of them rounded a corner.

"We're almost there. Her meeting room is at the end of this hall." Zaalthan said. They were walking through a hallway with doors on both sides. Rultaos could only assume that they were the resting quarters of the rebel group's members.

They finally reached the end. Zaalthan stopped for a moment and said "I don't know why you want to speak with her, but I hope that it's important, our leader does not like wasting time.". Rultaos nodded "Then we should get along just fine- did you say 'her'?" he suddenly asked. "Yes, our leader carries the spirit of a female Almirian warrior." Zaalthan replied.

"I have never heard nor seen a female Almirian who fought." Rultaos said. "Well yes, men were dominant at that time, but she was an excellent fighter despite the stereotyping of most of her allies before. Vanaduke knew that it would be a mistake to not use her spirit in his army. He just didn't count on any of us actually gaining free will." Zaalthan explained proudly.

Rultaos nodded and entered the quarters. He was greeted by two Trojan swords put on his neck. "Move and we will tear you apart!" The Dark Trojan on the left said. "Wait Wait! Put your weapons down, he is a friend." Zaalthan said quickly as he waved his arms at the 2 lumbering Trojans. Upon seeing Zaalthan and hearing his words, the Dark Trojans lowered their weapons. "I hope you know what you're doing Zal..." the one on the right said.

"What's happening out here?" A gruff, female voice said from the other side of the room. Emerging from two red drapes was a Slag-guard who spoke with the same voice. "Tyrne, Valof, what is going on?" she said. The 2 Dark Trojans stood at attention, the one on the right spoke first. "Ma'am, this Trojan entered the room and we stopped him thinking he was an intruder, but Zaalthan here told us that he is an ally." the Trojan explained.

The Slag-guard looked at the Slag-walker "Is this true Zaalthan?" she asked. The Slag-walker nodded in response "He has spoken the code, and earned my trust." he explained. She looked at Rultaos "What do you want from us?" She asked sternly, clearly not trusting him yet. "My name is Rultaos, former member of the Citadel army, 16th Ember Phalanx. I have come with a proposition for you and your men." Rultaos explained.

She looked at him quizzically "And what is this 'proposition'?" The Slag-guard asked. "I represent an organization that calls itself The Clockwork Renegades, you may have heard of us. We are here in an attempt to form an alliance with your group, seeing as our goals coincide. According to my sources, your group lacks numbers, a resource that The Renegades can easily provide. There is only 1 favor that we must ask of you first." Rultaos said.

"What do you want us to do?" She said, eyeing him intimidatingly. "We are planning a large assault on a certain location in The Grand Colony. All we ask is the support of your men and we will provide for every need you ask of us." Rultaos answered.

The Slag-guard contemplated for a moment. "Yes, we have heard of your group. However, I will need time to think this through. You are welcome to stay if you wish." she said. "Thank you for your time, I will stay here until you have an answer." Rultaos paused for a moment and then continued "I would like to know the name of the one I am making deals with."

"Call me Hatetia." She replied. Rultaos nodded and exited the room. "Let me show you where our extra rooms are." Zaalthan said as he led Rultaos back down the hallway. While walking, Rultaos hoped that he had left a good impression on the rebel leader, otherwise The Renegades would be losing valuable assistance.
