@Tevokkia

((Well, considering the fact that exams are getting close, I will probably only have 1 chance to go online. which is the coming Friday. At that point I will try to make an IC post, but I'm kind of busy at the moment. The SK update is finished so I can log in now, I'll send you my intentions for the Gremlin, but you and the other mods can tweak it if you wish.

The mods will have to keep this roleplay running while i'm gone.

Treaman, you can say that your character was released from the cage, possibly after the capture of the Gremlin. I know that it has taken quite a while to get your character involved, so sorry for that. Hopefully you can get in the story very soon))

@ Za-Ck and Necroterra

((Okay, Za-Ck and Nectroterra (when you get back, of course) ... Azure sent me what's going on with the gremlin everyone is chasing after. Would you guys like to get together and collab on it in-game (either via chat or messages) or would you rather I posted as Mr. Gremlin until he returned? I'm not sure what both of you have the time and/or inclination for.

If you're going to be on regularly this week, Za-Ck, it might be nice for you to control him, since Necroterra and I are already working on something. Just a thought. I'll send the info along, if that's what you want to do.))

I'm back!

((Honestly, I don''t really care how you control the Gremlin, and also, what I said about the commotion in the research tent earlier, that was actually supposed to be Corpser, but this works too. I have nothing really to put in IC right now, but I guess I will just have to do my best.))

Torx knew that the mission, as it stood, was hopeless. The CO could move blindingly fast. If anyone heard that 'the-one-who-got-away,' so to speak, was back in Emberlight, the Void would throw everything it has to get him back. As far as he knew, he was the only one who had ever ben able to resist the Void. He was also the only one who knew what the had to do.

But that started in Emberlight.

He decided that on the way, he would tell Bettit and Vakros, if he chose to come, exactly what was going on. He would tell them what's in the box, he would tell them where the Vault ((not the treasure vault, sorry bad coincidence)) is and why they needed to get in. But the problem of the Co remained.

The only thing more important to them than capturing Torx would be protecting the Mind. They were the eternal salves to it, but they are only Void creatures given autonomy of any kind, and they know that without the Mind they would die.

And then he had it: they needed a diversion. A diversion so big, that all of the CO would have no choice but to attack. It would be completely useless to actually try to harm it, of course, but the CO wouldn't take the chance. If the Renegades could hold them off for less than hour, even... it would work.

Torx stood up from his meditation and glanced around. It looked as if he had been resting for only a few hours, but it was hard to tell in the eternal sunlight of the Treasure Vault. There was some sort of commotion down in one of the Research tents, but this tended to happen and Torx decided not to worry about it. It amazed him that the Renegades continue to operate despite the frequent disturbances.

He called over a Devilite messenger and gave him the following message to send to Fridge, as he knew that Rultaos would be hibernating for a while:

"Fridge, you must send all the combat ready Renegades on an assault of the Gremlin Palace, where the void Mind resides. It is an attack in vain, but it will give me the cover I need to get into Emberlight. Do not actually try to kill the CO; you can't. Even if you manage to hit them, being in such close proximity to the Mind will heal them in seconds. And make sure no one, I repeat NO ONE, touches the Void. If they do, they will most likely be turned against you. Sends for me when you are ready to leave."

((Zack, I sent you a message in game about this, please read it.))

((ok im back, and i have a IC post :D))

Tickafir hide behind a pile of rubble and watched as a group of strangely small gremlins marched by. "They actually went through with the plan? But these are just children!" he thought to himself, cursing the foolishness of the Crimson Order. "I must warn the Renegades that these little guys aren't as innocent as they look!"

((I'll be a bit busy this week, but I should have some time to make some IC posts. Tevokkia, I sent you a Friend request, just in case. Necro told me most of what he wanted me to do, but I would still like to bounce ideas off of you sometime if you can. Either way, let me know what you wanna do.))

EDIT: @Tevokkia
I am usually on in the late afternoon or evenings. I'm in the Eastern Standard Time zone of the United States. I'm on fairly often, multiple times a day usually, so it shouldn't be that hard to catch me.

@ Za-Ck and Necroterra ... and some other people

((I got your request, Za-Ck, and sent along the info about our traitor. It would be cool to brainstorm a bit when we caught each other in-game. (My husband saw you online earlier ... I imagine you were probably reading Necro's message. XD) I work at home most of the week and am available most of the day, so let me know if there's a specific time that's good for you if you ever want to do some idea-bouncing.

Heh, Necro ... the Phantom we have in the Vault right now is actually Elias. Corpser is on his way to Haven at the moment (although I haven't the vaguest notion what he's going to do there. I sent him a message, too, to see if he had something planned so we could work it in).

Frostrex and Outnuendo: Checking up with both of you via in-game message to see if you have plans for your villains, since I don't know if Azure has already done so. I'll send anything you give me along to him and the rest. Outnuendo - I don't know if your in-game name is the same as your forum name, so you probably won't get my note if it's not. XD

Flyingninza: Nice tying in the game updates; I like that.

No IC for me ... Bettit's ball is in Vakros' court at the moment.))

((Ok, back. Should I just ditch the 'secret thing' idea?))

As Terarr walked out of the elevator, he looked left, and then right, as if he was passing a very busy street, full of things that where trying to kill him. He put his hands up to show that he was not going to fight, then asked, "Can anybody bring me to your leader? Please don't try to kill me, I'm not here to fight. I'll put down my stuff if you want." Then he thought to himself, "Let's hope they believe me! If they don't, I am so very, very dead."

((Nah, it's cool. It seems it works really well with Treaman's backstory, so maybe you can send him a message about it. But ... did you happen to catch up on the posts from the last page so you know what you're walking into? If not, please do so; it will be easier for your to find a way to interact with other player characters rather than always npcs that way.))

Some devilite guy

There was a commotion going on not far from the elevator, with people shouting and running around: apparently they were chasing someone. It took a moment for anyone to notice the lone devilite that had just emerged from the elevator, and when someone did, it was another, slightly larger devilite with a greenish cast to his skin. He didn't seem to have heard what Terarr said as he ran by ... in fact, he seemed to assume that since Terarr was in the Treasure Vault, he was already a member of the Clockwork Renegades.

"If you're not already doing something," he grouched as he passed, obviously one of the sorts that didn't like to see any devilite standing idle, "either help us chase down that guy" (here he thrust an arm in the direction of a gremlin wildly trying to dodge several creatures who were already giving chase) "or take yourself to the managers' tent."

It didn't take much looking around to see the managers' tent; the thing was fairly large and had a pitchfork emblazoned over a golden gear on the front of it.

((Also, @Za-CK: I'm also in the EST zone, so I'll probably be able to catch you fairly frequently, as I'm on and off during those times as well.))

New Character! Am I late I saw 1 slot left??

Name: Ice
Race: Zombie (More specific- Frozen Shambler)
Gender: Male
Personality: (How does your character behave?)
Appearance: He has a Biker Helmet on and Skinny Jeans

Equipment: The Biker Helmet, and skinny jeans :P he also has a Silent Nightblade and a Faust
Skills: He soesn't really have "skills" but he uses the Silent Nightblade as a katana and follows the rules of a Samurai

Biography: He is a Frozen Shambler who is unlike other Zombies. One day while shambling in his depth he saw a knight killing his kind wearing a Biker Helmet, Skinny Jeans, and he was weilding a Silent Nightblade and had a Faust strapped to his back. With out hesitation he leaped on the back of the knight and ate his brains! After the brains were eaten he saw a piece of payprus scroll that had some sort of Philosiophy written on it:
To be a Samurai you have to feed your sword the blood of your enemies.... and the rest was scratced out. From then on he used that Phylosophy should the need ever arise. When he heard of the Clockwork Renegades he wanted to join them, even though he liked to eat the brains of knights, he likes and respects the knights he thinks that they should be left alone in his heart, but his stomach always says, "GARGLE GARGLE TASTY BRAIIIINS! EAT DA BRAINS OF DA NIGHT!"

Additional facts: He tends to eat BRAINS! Other than that he likes Cheddar Cheese.
Suggestions: Sorry, I don't really have any suggestions, I literally saw the one slot left and rushed down here, but not before reading the MP

OOC to Iskuube and Flyingninza

((@Isekuube: A few things with your app: Your character doesn't seem to have a personality filled in yet, and you forgot the seal at the bottom to show you read the rules. Out of curiosity, seeing as there are no Samurai on Cradle, where in the world did he learn Bushido?

Please edit the app a bit if you'd like to be accepted. I would really suggest rounding out most sections, rather than just the ones I specifically pointed out.))

((@Flyingninza: While we appreciate the thread being near the top of the page, please try to keep OOC posts in which there is no IC or you are not communicating to the other players to a minimum.))

You might want to consider why he would want to help the Knights leave cradle if he enjoys eating their brains, however. At the moment you don't seem to have a lot of motivation to join the Renegades.

Thanks!))

Capture

((I'm taking control of the chase and the Gremlin Mechanic that has been evading capture to this point))

Fridge

Q-77 was running alongside various members of the Renegades in pursuit of the desperate gremlin mechanic. He was proving to be a tough specimen to capture; he was both quick and clever, often outmaneuvering the slower members of the Renegades and tricking the faster ones. He was already almost at a nearby elevator, from which he could make a hasty retreat. There was just one thing to do... but Q-77 hated using this ability of his. He began concentrating the subzero energy within his body, and focusing it all into his sword. With a leap into the air, he stabbed it into the ground...

-----

The Gremlin Mechanic

He was in reaaaaallly deep trouble and he knew it. He hadn't wanted to do it, but he was forced into the situation; he had no choice!
He told himself this as he dodged a devilite and a zombie that had lunged toward him at the same time. He leaped over their heads as they collided face-first, knocking the poor zombie's skull off and sending it rolling some distance away. As the zombie stumbled around, trying to find his head, the gremlin made a final dash towards an elevator. So close to freedom...
He got on the platform and was reaching for the controls, but before he could do anything, he was flash-frozen into a solid chunk of ice.

-----

The other Renegades that were involved in the chase finally caught up to the situation and stared at what lay before them. In the center of a large circle of ice crystals, there was an exhausted Cryo Knight, slumped over slightly as it tried to recover from its attack. On the other end, there was the gremlin they had been chasing, covered head-to-toe in ice. The Cryo Knight ordered in a slightly strained voice to extract the Gremlin, defrost him, and hold him for questioning. As he was starting to get up, another devilite approached him and gave him a note. It was from Torx! Whatever could this be? The Cryo Knight began to read...

((I hope this was good enough Tevokkia and Necroterra. I'll continue on in a bit.))

@Mods

((Hey, I'm no mod, but shouldn't Ice have a reason to join the Renegades? I mean if hs's fond of knight brains than he really shouldn't want them to leave, as they would make nice snacks. Anyways, sorry for being inactive lately, but now that the Mechanic is taken care of I can resume the opening of Torx, Vakros, and Bettit's mission.))
Vakros hurried on over the bridge, not really minding the scene nearby, whatever it was. When he got to the Gremlin island, he gazed around at the bustling around him. And to think, he never once got to know anyone around here. Except for his pupils, but he couldn't hold a true conversation with them about anything but doctoring.
He needed to get out of the Med Tent more often, and spend some time with his own kind. He quickly darted through the crowds, a skill he had learned back at Emberlight, when he was but a Gremlinite. He neared his home shortly, but saw something was wrong.
His entire house was encased in a block of jelly.
Jelly.
After a brief and stern conversation with his landlord, Trumen, he learned that a couple of reseachers discovered how to crossbreed Lichens and regular Jellies. In the chaos that insued the giant Jelly got stuck on his house, only after destroying the two reseachers' apartment and all the notes for the project. Trumen promised a cartload of Rocksalt by the next day.
Just what he needed. Jelly.
He was able to find Bettit after an extensve search, and upon nearing asked, "You wanna talk in Torx's tent? Cause, well-erm-mine isn't quite... available at the moment."

((Isis, you have a point. I'll edit my last instructions to him. Za-Ck- looks good to me! Also, have some Fridge. I'm working on Torx right now, and hopefully I'll have Subject 13 and Hanaphs up soon ... lumbers and slag guards are hard for me to draw.))

Bettit

Bettit looked up at the sound of Vakros' voice, squinting in his direction as she tried to smile and say hello. That didn't really work with a spool of thread in her mouth, so she took it out and crammed it in her backpack before trying again.

"Hi Vakros!" She looked particularly cheery as she situated her hat back on her head. The patch didn't match and there were still scorch marks visible around the stitching, but at least there wasn't a hole in it anymore. The cheerful expression quickly turned to one of amused disbelief. "Oh no ... don't tell me that the house in the jelly block was your house?" She wasn't able to stifle a giggle, but then again, she didn't try particularly hard.

"If you don't think Torx will mind," Bettit answered after clearing the giggles out of her throat, then paused: she had wanted to tell the story to Vakros alone... she didn't really ever get to speak in confidence to anyone, and this would be the first time she told the story. It would be a little weird doing so in front of Torx, even though he already knew the story itself. "Do you think he'll be back from whatever it was he was doing yet?" she asked dubiously.

((@Kaijuhunter: I don't mean to sound harsh, but your character's listed personality one is not one that is going to be viable in a team atmosphere if his overreaction is so bad he's likely to attack his teammates, I see no discernible flaws, and you forgot the Seal of the Rebellion. I am going to have to deny you for now.

As there is one slot left and we currently seem to have two people that want it, Isekuube did apply first and if he is able to edit his app into a workable character, then he will get the slot. If he chooses not to do so, then Kaiju will have the opportunity to edit his app if he is still interested.))

Clueless

((Don't have much to write, but might as well to seem active XD))

Hanaphs jumped a bit in shock as he saw the runaway grimlin suddenly frozen as a block of ice. "Whoa." Hanaphs and the devlites next to him simutaniously said. "That's one good construct." the devlite completed. "What construct?" Hanaphs asked like a clueless idiot as he turned his eyes to the other. The devlite glanced at the clueless slag guard in yellow, and sighed, "Nevermind...."

((Kaijuhunter and and isekuube are both denied. Just thought I would emphasize that fact. Just because you posted first doesn't mean you get the slot, the better one is the one who is accepted. Don't rush your apps, take time to make them better. Outnuendo is also still being inactive :/

That said, you guys seem to be doing a pretty good job handling this roleplay. I'll try to make an IC post right now to give my spin of how Necroterra is planning this to go.

Forgive the "small while later" part by the way. I don't have much time and couldn't be bothered making IC to repeat known information. Sorry if this bothers anyone.))

Rultaos

Rultaos was still resting when a Devil-IT came into the tent. Seeing no alternative other than to address him, Rultaos awakened. His crystal shone brightly and he slowly began to stretch his arms and legs to get a feel of movement again; he always felt numb after awakening.

"What do you need?" Rultaos asked curtly. "The boss in charge of research tent 3 wants you to check out something they found, they say that it's a Phantom but they're not sure if it's hostile or friendly. They decided that you would be more capable of handling the situation" the Devil-IT answered. Rultaos didn't really find this proper grounds for interrupting a Trojan at rest, but if he had a job to do then he was in no position to say otherwise.

Besides, a Phantom loose inside the Vault was the last thing they needed right now

"Fine, where is this Phantom?" Rultaos asked. "He's inside a cage, he was still in his dormant form the last time we looked, but it was behaving very erratically so we decided to call you in." The small office-worker answered. Rultaos found it rather strange that a Phantom could actually be held within something as trivial as a cage, but perhaps this was a different kind of Phantom they were dealing with.

"Ok, I'll handle it. Lead the way" he answered.

A small while later...

Rultaos was on his way to Takun's tent. He had just heard from a fellow Renegade about Torx's plan to launch a diversionary assault on the Grand Palace as cover for their mission in Emberlight. It was a suicide attempt, but according to Torx it was necessary to keep the Crimson Order off of the search team's backs. There was no alternative.

Rultaos entered the tent and saluted the Renegade leader. "At ease Rultaos, I'm assuming you're here to talk about the assault on the Grand palace?" Takun said in his usual calm demeanor. Rultaos sat down on the war room table and spoke "Yes sir. This plan of his, it's just not practical. A head-on attack against the capital of the Grand Colony is completely reckless and we would lose more than half of our fighting power. I am no coward Takun, you've seen me in battle enough times to know that, I only wish to speak of a better way we can tackle this situation" Rultaos said.

"I'm all ears" Takun replied. Rultaos cleared his stone throat and said "We will need more than the Renegades fighting reserves for this battle. We have to unite all possible allies against the Void and Grand Colony. The Moorcroft Spirits, Emberlight volunteers, and even the Spiral Knights. If we're planning to actually tangle with the elite soldiers of the Colony and the Crimson Order, we're going to need all the help we can get."

Takun contemplated for a moment and said "Hmm, you have a very good point. It would indeed be in our best interest to send diplomatic teams to Emberlight and Moorcroft for this endeavor. I'll also get into contact with The Spiral Order; the other Knights need not know of our existence if they do exactly as they're ordered." Rultaos then replied "Good, I'll also see if I can speak to some old friends in the Firestorm Citadel, chances are slim that a number of them will join me, but every available fighter we have can make a difference. We should also mobilize reconaiisance teams to The Grand Palace so that we know what we're up against. It might be a good way to see the skills of the newly joined Phantom."

"I'll spread the word then. Anyone who thinks they're up for it can speak to me. Do you have anyone in mind for the jobs we need done?" Takun asked. Rultaos thought for a while and finally said "For my trip to Firestorm Citadel, I'll take Hanaphs. I'm not really sure how much help he'd be able to give, but if worse comes to worst it'll be good to have someone watching my back; Cradle knows I need it.

For the recon team, I suggest Elias and Snarp. They seem to be our best choices right now for undercover work. Having only 2 people on it will help them stay hidden, but if they think a few extra hands will help then I wont argue, as long as it wont make them too moticeable.

For Moorcroft, You can send in anyone you think has the best diplomatic skills. I only suggest that you send in an escort of fiends and undead just in case they run into trouble. I'll see if I can go with them if the Firestorm Citadel expedition doesn't take too long.

For Emberlight, Gremlins will obviously be our best choice. They shouldn't wear anything to divulge their true loyalties though, nor should they bring Torx, at least not until the assault begins.

It might also be handy to send in a small of team constructs to Haven to check on The Spiral Order. Being constructs they can pass off as personal bodyguards of some Knight. Have The Order send someone for that. I suggest Fridge, 13, Scharr, and one Gremlin Mechanic to keep them fixed in case anything happens."

Rultaos finished his statement and waited for Takun to respond. "All of your suggestions are noted, and accepted. Get ready to leave for the Citadel then. I want our forces to be ready as soon as possible. there's no telling when the Void will get the upper hand while we sit here and plan. You are dismissed" Takun said.

Rultaos stood up, saluted once again, and walked out of the tent. He took his weapons back from the guards and began looking for Hanaphs, the peculiar Slag guard for his expedition to the Almirian Empire. Before they actually left though, he would send a message to Captain Achilles, a Knightmare who he was close friends with. Achilles would certainly be able to help them get inside the Citadel undetected. He would have to repaint his mane and leave behind his shield as the guards would certainly attack the moment they saw that he was a Renegade.

((@me hooray for IC. since my appearance is coming soon, im gonna add 1 last vision which would be interrupted by my awakening.
if u wanna tweak my entrance so it fits better, thats fine with me.))
((still cant figure out what OOC and CO mean))

"Whoa, this is incredible!" Before Elias stood dozens of phantoms, each 1 repeating a specific phantom technique, whether it be flying, phasing through walls, possession, or anything else he had never seen before. He decided to focus himself on this 1 vision so it would not change early, He wanted to study and practice some of these while he could. The first he came upon was a hazy looking phantom in front of an equally hazy knight... ~There seems to be a vague importance to the blur of these... maybe like that of a memory?~ Elias thought to himself. As he watched, the dulled phantom placed a hand upon the knight, and a clear image sprang from the horn as if some screen had materialized out of the nothingness surrounding them. At first he was startled by the flash of the instant vision, for it produced a light that blinded him after being in the dark so long. Then he realized this was not for reading memories, but more like mood or thought indicator. he took the place of the faded phantom and tried for himself.
He practiced for what seemed like an hour, most trials ending in failure. Deciding to move on, he came across a wall. A horn started to protrude from it, and soon a whole phantom had jumped out in front of him. "well, this looks easy enough." He started walking toward the wall. *BLAP* Elias hit the floor, holding his head. "Ooww... not so easy maybe," he cringed. After several attempts at this, he had finally learned the trick.
He noticed that everything was starting to interlace and deteriorate, like a monitor screen hit by a bursting pressure gauge in his workshop, all fuzzed and staticy. "No, not yet, whats happening? NOOOO, i haven't learned all the secrets yet, i can't go back nooow!!!" Everything was black again, he couldn't even see himself now. Elias was waking.

A bit off OOC

((Azure: Glad to see you on for a bit ... I was trying to get them to edit their apps, but neither seemed inclined to do them fully. *shrug* As far as Outnuendo goes, I sent him and Frostrex a message to see what their plans were and gave the two of them a suggestion based on their answers. They may or may not be communicating a bit before he posts. I was essentially going to send a progress report on Thursday before you were expected to come back.

Treaman: OOC means out-of-character (like what I'm posting now), while CO is the Crimson Order. As far as the Samurai stuff goes ... while those helmets may have a vague Samurai-like style (which they actually don't), I have yet to see mention of a Samurai culture with specific rules of conduct in the game, which is more what I was referring to speaking to Isekuube.))

After that gremlin!

Terarr had his fat, devilite fingers crossed when he called for assistance, but they uncrossed as he jumped in surprise when another devilite yelled at him for not chasing a gremlin, nor going to a manager tent. "I'm not even in The Renegades yet, and all ready I'm getting an assignment!" He thought as butterflies of happiness fluttered in his belly. As he ran towards the gremlin, he caught a glimpse of a phantom in a cage. He remembered the phantom that all those at home devilites did something with. He also remembered that his mother had said that he was almost old enough to work. "I'm glad I'm working here instead of there." He said to himself as he raced towards the gremlin. "Oh, no!" Terarr cried when the gremlin got to the elevator. But the elevator didn't leave. When Terarr got a look inside, he yelped in surprise! The gremlin was frozen! "Now I've seen it all," He muttered to himself, "I chased a gremlin that I knew nothing about, it got to an elevator, but didn't leave, and now he's frozen solid!"

((You can't actually get to this Treasure Vault from just any old elevator; it has to be a specific Renegades elevator. They don't want people just wandering in. That's why I had to have another NPC escort Terarr. Don't worry hon - we'll work out getting you introduced. While Bettit and Vakros would be going without Torx to talk to the Emberlight people about joining the assault on the palace, Torx is probably still going to have to go help retrieve the box; Teret isn't going to let his klutzy, barely-grown daughter and someone he's never met before just make off with the thing.))

The Concrete Jungle: a place

The Concrete Jungle: a place wild, untamed, lawless at first glance. If one were to delve into the heart of the jungle, however, they would find a king, one who tamed the land and established laws for the others. And right now, he was a king who was staring at a crudely drawn map, eyeing the taste of victory over those animalistic, lawless wolves.

"Excellent," the king proclaimed out loud. "Now, the wolver population will be in the hands of a new order. An order that will save them."

Pausing, a smug grin dawned upon his face.

"My Order."

However, almost as soon as he finished that line, a toxigel crept in to the room, obviously in a hurry.

"King Gasgar!" the toxigel proclaimed, exasperated. "The attack on the Raving Rabids Den has failed! Soldiers are quickly retreating, in an effort to save themselves-"

The king cut him off.

"What, in my name, caused such a thing, phlyyg?"

"It was a gang of knights, sire. They came in and started obliterating-"

Phlyyg was cut off again.

"Phlyyg I have let command many, many failures. This has gone too far, and for far too long. You will be punished for this failures, and the many of which you dodges the blows." At this point, Phlyyg was begging, sobbing.

"PLEASE SIR, I'LL DO ANYTHING! ANYTHING! JUST NOT ABSORB-"

The king did not react to his pleas for mercy.

"You should have deserved this a long, long time ago." The king simply stated.

And, for a brief second, the only sound was that of Phlyyg screaming.

"AHHHHHHHHH!"

And then there was one. It was not Phlyyg, nor was the being that was left any part of Phlyyg. It was as if he had completely disappeared, untraceable, nonexistent. Times and times of repetition had wethered the king's face to little to no expression after this event. Rather, he dully went back to his work.

"An attack on devilite city might work, but no, there's still a chance of the knights being able to attack there. Even with the help of royal jelly, a stratum 4 attack might still be dangerous."

And then, he had an epiphany.

"What If I go after the knights?"

He then proceeded to conjure a different map. On this one, instead of marking clockworks tunnels that he could take to reach other places, he then started to focus on the subtowns of the clockworks. What he found was some surprising results.

"Though there are tons of knights, most of them stay above the clockworks, in haven. Due to the lack of guards, as well as a lack of people there, taking over the subtowns shouldn't require that much work. Once we conquer there, access can be cut off from Tier 3, allowing an easy conquest there. And then…"

By this point, he was nearly raving.

"And then, we can use the subtowns as a direct link into haven! From there, we can launch a full-scale attack on haven, a surprise attack that will cost them far too much! And then, they can flee, allowing all of the clockworks to be ruled by me,

King Gasgar!"

The plan was simple: Most of the lichens would split up and travel through different levels, in an effort to prevent the army from being obliterated in one level. If possible, there would also be lichens hiding in parts of emberlight itself, to create even more surprise and panic. Victory would be easy, as the lichens could overwhelm the denizens.

((I think that taking over all of Emberlight in a single post falls under the "A giant gear falls from the ceiling and kills everyone" heading of "no controlling events." A bump of ice.

As Terarr puzzled over the frozen gremlin, he also puzzled over what the gremlin did. "Why can't anybody tell me what's going on?" Terarr wondered. As he was think about these things, he accidentally bumped a mecha knight that seemed to be worn out by the chase (Fridge) . "Sorry!" Terarr said quickly, hoping that either this mecha knight was forgiving, or to tired to be angry.

Snarp ground to a halt. A

Snarp ground to a halt. A traitorous Gremlin had been stopped short of escaping the treasure vault after...well...doing something bad, the Quicksilver supposed? Thankfully, the spy had been stopped short by a Cryo Knight and was now surrounded by angry, not-so-angry, and some expressionless Renegades. Snarp looked on as a Devilite walked up to the Cryo Knight and handed it a note.
((Guys, if I could have my say, I would formally request that the last slot be taken by a Beast family monster. There are absolutely NO beasts at all (Atgatg left, so he/she didn't count). Also, I'll be inactive for a week or so due to examinations coming up. I also rather like the idea of an altercation in Emberlight, it would be a nice way for Outnuendo/Gasgar to make an entrance. Until then, see you guys!))

Unwanted contact

Elias was dizzied by the pace of all the activity he had woken up to, and the commotion was confusing. Frozen gremlins, NON-frozen gremlins, giant trojans... and the number of devilites roaming around made him quite uneasy, "i got a funny feeling i shouldnt bother too many of those little horrors at the moment... 1 of them may recognize me." he turns to walk on, only to trip a few steps later. As he collected himself again, he is embarrassed to notice he was trying to avoid this. He had stumbled over a rather small devilite (must be younger than most here), but his nightmare nonetheless. Fearing it may still know who he was, Elias fumbled up and started to run, but the small devilite had clung to hit minitrig sheath. Elias took a small peek into the purple ball's mind... "aww crap, he does know." -.-* He stopped running, deciding that a confrontation was inevitable.

the frozen would be the 1 traitor, the unfrozen would be all the others, made it that way to emphasize Elias confusion. the devilites would be a definite thing to add since he'd be uncomfortable considering he made his greatest efforts to escape them in the first place, which is how he ended up here and according to other posts about the vault, there do seem to be quite a large amount of them))

((Hey guys, i've been thinking about the whole 'make a Renegade conversation in-game' and thought that there might be a better solution that requires only two posts. It would pretty much go like this:
Lets just say Vakros and Bettit are having a discussion. I would make a post, that started the conversation, then Tev would reply below. Then I would take ONLY the actual speech from her post, and copy it to my post. Then I would respond, adding Vakros's feelings and thoughts. On her post, Tev would copy the new dialouge, and add her reply along with Bettit's thoughts.
That way we can hear both of the characters views. Anyways, I'm going to reply to Tev's long forgotten post up there.))
Vakros wondered if Torx WOULD mind, I mean, he was a bit unpredictable. Bettit looked a bit like she didn't really want to spend any more time with the old Gremlin, and Vakros definately understood why.
"I know this nice little corner... maybe you want to spend some time there until we know Torx is back?"

I get to make an IC post! Yaycakes!

((I think that may work for fairly short conversations, Isis, but I don't really think it would speed up the long ones, at all. Take the long discussion between Bettit and Torx on the last page, for example. We did that one in game because each bit of dialogue was going to be short, but each one relied on the answer given previously, and trying to do it strictly on the board would have taken between 20 and 24 posts, each of which would have had to have been stretched a bit with extra (not necessarily useful) information so there wasn't only a single line of IC text in a post. For something that includes a few large blocks of text - like the piece of dialogue I already sent you to chew on - it makes a lot more sense, though.

Also ... don't hinge anything too much on the exact wording of that dialogue, please. There may be a few small changes between now and when it's posted on the thread. I've lost count of how many times it's been edited already.))

Bettit
Bettit instantly brightened up at Vakros' new suggestion. "That sounds much better!" she told him with a smile as she double-checked to make sure she had not lost anything from her pack while making her hat repairs and bounded over to him with the sort of enthusiasm usually reserved for the young.

"I have a story to tell you," the little gremlin told the mender conspiratorially as they walked, leaning in a bit to do so. Treating this business as a confidence between friends was going to make it a lot easier on her. "It's a little bit of a secret, and it's a little sad, but it's pretty important. Some of it, at least."

((Also, you're welcome, Azure! It's mostly been fun. ^.^ Go ahead and focus on everything you need to, and we'll all be here when you get back.))

Confusion

((Ok... I hope this post turns out alright...))

Fridge was still slumped over, leaning on his sword as he recovered his energy and refilled his depleted cooling cells. He observed with his visor as a small group of Renegades removed the petrified gremlin and shipped him off to wherever they could begin the interrogation. He kinda felt sorry for the gremlin, but it had to be done. He turned back to the letter that he had been given... it was instructions for a full assault on the Gremlin Grand Palace of all things! Before he could muddle over it a bit more, a small devilite bumped against his side. He gave it a small glance, and it murmured an apology before quickly dashing out of sight. What an odd little fellow...

Fridge was about to follow the instructions given to him on the note, when all of a sudden, a small silkwing deposited yet ANOTHER note onto the ground in front of him. This time, it was Rultaos summoning him for another mission and ordering him to ignore Torx's commands! Fridge was confused as his processor tried to reconcile these conflicting orders from his superiors. One could literally hear the gears grinding in his head as he pondered his predicament. Both Rultaos and Torx were very high members of the Renegades and both had about equal ranking. What should he do?!

/////

A passing gremlin knocker paused on his way to a tent, staring at the strange cryo knight sitting on the ground. There was a horrible grinding noise emanating from it and... was that smoke coming from its head? Shaking his own head briefly, the young gremlin continued on his way, deciding to ignore the odd sight.

/////

Fridge detected his cranial unit was overheating and immediately stopped his current thought process. That was one part of him that he wished had been perfected before he was made, mecha knights weren't exactly built for intense thinking, just for more or less defending and attacking. He then decided to visit Torx and Rultaos themselves before following any order he was given. That sounded like a decent compromise. He headed off to find them.

/////

Dagren the gremlin mechanic was having a bad day. He was still shaving-off the burnt fur from the time that crazy mecha knight had hugged him, and fried him crispy by mistake. Muttering to himself, he looked at himself in a mirror. Bah, he looked ridiculous... patches of his fur were missing everywhere now. With a sigh, he slipped on his goggles and donned his cloak again. As he stepped outside of his personal repair tent though, he found a note at the entrance. He grumbled as he reached down and began to read. He was assigned to a mission?! and to Haven of all things! He was apparently gonna be a backup mechanic in case something went wrong, and if the constructs that were attending needed repairs. With a sigh, he accepted his fate. Well, as long as that blasted cryo knight wasn't there, he could live with it. Maybe today wouldn't be so bad after all...
((Tough luck Mr Gremlin XD))

((Haha, nope, I get the last post. I've seen you on several times, Ninza, so if you should need me, I shouldn't be hard to find. As Za-Ck already said, we figured that since you may not be introduced until after these missions were over, we needed an NPC for the short run.

Let me know if they need any changes, peeps. Am I missing anyone? (Other than the Defiler ... I can't figure out what that guy looks like). Once I'm done with all the characters, I'll probably start doing some scenes.

Also: bonus gremlins. I was outside and needed something easy to draw, so in case anyone is interested, some idle sketches of Bettit and Vakros being subjected to a ridiculous ancedote which apparently either ends in "and it was this big!" or "but I had NO idea!" ))
