Corpser was walking through

Corpser was walking through his graveyard. Well, hovering in a tiny ball of red light. "God, this is boring," he said to himself. It was extremely boring haunting the same old graveyard for over three years. "I'm gonna leave for once." And so he did. He didn't attack when he saw a group of Knights make their way through the graveyard. He thought something looked awfully familiar about them, but quickly dismissed it. He then hid in the elevator, under the platform. When they'd started the machine up he burst out and attacked them. When he was up to the last one, who he intended to finish off but the scared Knight said something. Corpser stopped for a minute, turning his aura ice blu then it flicked back to the immensly dark, evil red. "While he was riding the elevator, he thought about what his victim had said. "I'm sorry, Hale." Corpser didn't know who Hale was, but it didn't matter now. He was free.

until then, u could probably make a scene about ur more distant past, or a fight between u and some knights... maybe both tho))

((speaking of which, with the premonition thing. if i ever come up with something that doesnt relate to the story line, id like to get a 4man session between me and the mods to discuss them... btw, what is ur feedback on this idea? really would like to know))

Umm...

((Lordofnecromancers, it is stated in the rules that you CANNOT control events. Especially one as big as the whole treasure vault getting overrun. If you didn't know that then I'm starting to doubt if you read the rules.

Also Tevokkia is accepted. I'll let her decide if she wants to start as a member or non-member of the renegades.

By the way Isisdelltion. You've been misspelling "Rultaos" a lot in your fanfiction XD.

Gotta go again))

The End of the Fight

((Okay, gonna try to wrap up the fight between the Defiler and Rultaos and also continue what happened to my character. Next time Isisdelltion, try not to put words in other people's mouths. (or equivalent of). I don't especially mind too much, but someone else might not like it.))

The Defiler and Rultaos grappled with each other, each trying to overcome the other. However, they were both of roughly equal strength, and neither showed any sign of stopping anytime soon.

During the struggle, Rultaos had dropped his weapon and shield, leaving him only with his sheer brute strength to fall back on. Luckily, his stone body was extremely durable, but the Defiler had many abilities and powers to wear him down with. The Defiler broke his grip and leaped backwards, his mechanical arm beginning to charge a large laser blast. Despite Rultao's heavy weight, he was luckily also very agile, leaping away from the Retrode-esque beam when it fired.

It blasted into a column that helped support the ceiling, causing considerable damage to it, and cracking it severely. Rultaos immediately recognized the danger of continuing to fight, but the Defiler was completely absorbed into the battle.

"Wait!" Rultaos bellowed, holding out an arm and trying to warn the berserk monstrosity. It raised its Jelly-like arm, forming it again into a spiked club, and swung it at Rultoas' head. Rultoas attempted to block the blow, but the force of it knocked him into the weakened support column, finally breaking it. Immediately, the ceiling began to fracture, cracks spreading from the weakened site of impact. ((This is why one of the columns collapsed while Fridge, Vakros and Test Subject 13 were encountering each other))

Rultoas was lying on the ground, face-down, trying to recover from the strong blow as soon as he could. But the Defiler was already planting his mismatched foot on Rultaos' back, grinning maniacally. He sharpened his Jelly arm into one long serrated spike, ready to strike a fatal blow to the Trojan's exposed crystal. He swung downward as Rultaos watched in alarm, but immediately stopped and started screaming in agony. He was writhing around in pain, and as Rultaos looked at the similar crystal on the Defiler's back, he noticed purple cracks beginning to form on it ((from Vakros' initial unnoticed sneak attack earlier))

As the monster flailed around in panic, he began smashing into the other columns and walls, dangerously destabilizing the area. Finally, the ceiling began to gave away, causing bricks and boulders to come raining down, burying the Chimera in an immense pile of rock. Rultoas didn't know if the Defiler was gone for good, but he began to run for his own safety, picking up his dropped equipment along the way. He did notice a strange sack the Defiler had dropped in his panic, and took that too, just in case. ((It contains the various materials and such the Defiler was collecting, if you wanna do something more with them Azure))

With his shield raised above his head, Rultaos ran as fast as he could.

---

Q-77 suddenly came to, after being knocked into unconsciousness by the falling debris. He was in a small enclosed space alongside Test Subject 13 and Vakros. It appeared that several support beams from the ceiling had fallen and prevented the entire ceiling from crushing them. Unfortunately, one of these had fallen on Vakros, and he seemed to be in severe pain. Test Subject 13 had placed the still prone Konjuring Kat to the side in an effort to lift the beam that was pinning the poor Gremlin down. Q-77 stood up to go help the Lumber with his task, but immediately noticed that something didn't feel quite right, because his balance was off. Looking down, he noticed that his left arm had broken clean off, and was currently a piece of mangled scrap lying under a large boulder. This could be a problem seeing as his shield was attached to that arm, and he wouldn't be able to defend himself for a while in case trouble arose. Despite this, together with Test Subject 13, they shifted the beam off of Vakros. After easing him into a more comfortable position, they then began to shift the rubble around, trying to make an exit. This was gonna take a while, especially because they both only had 1 arm each.

((I tried writing the fight scene, I hope this is good enough for you Azure. BOY THIS POST IS LONG))

Elevator to Moorcroft

Bettit dragged her cap off of her head and stood scratching her ear for a moment as she squinted down the path. There were an awful lot of bushes ahead, and it looked like maybe some thorns, too. She sniffed experimentally. No wolvers were immediately apparent, which suited her just fine. She had always hated Wolver stink. The little Gremlin had also always hated being lost, but it seemed she had a propensity for it and today was no exception: despite having been fairly sure of the elevator tables when she left home, she had no idea where she was at. The fact that the place looked, at least, like a Wolver den was enough to have her worried.

Heaving a sigh, Bettit pushed an unruly tuft of hair out of her face and crammed her cap back onto her head as she headed down the path. 'Might as well keep going,' she thought to herself. 'Not going to get un-lost just standing here.' She turned a corner and stood there blinking for a moment before starting to laugh, a high, youthful giggle. All that worrying and she had been just paces from an elevator ... not only that, an elevator to a place she knew.

Bettit practically skipped onto the thing, hitting the 'ascension' button that pointed towards Moorcroft Manor. As the platform hummed and started to rise, she sang a silly, cheerful little ditty to herself ...

... and then stopped short as she arrived at her destination.

The place was a wreck, something that she had never seen before. She stared, blinking, for a moment, then stepped gingerly off the elevator and inched along a wall for a few moments. She wondered if there was anyone there ... they could be hurt. Or hostile.

"Helloooooooo?" the gremlin called out hesitantly.

((Sorry if I'm not in quite the right area of the building for wreckage- I'm sure the ceiling would have made a mess of itself in other places, too. Or if there ought to be enemies or something milling about in the elevator area. It's a bit hard to tell what part of the building everyone is aside from those in the library. Let me know if I need to make some adjustments.))

Corpser is immensely bored...

Corpser was so bored that for the last hour and a half, he started playing with his aura, changing it from crimson, to white, to black, ice blue and crimson again. "Really, how long did these elevators take when I was alive?" He started searching through the gear of the corpses that were all around him. Autogun, Wolver Armour and Cap, Calibur and Owlite shield. "No wonder he didn't stand a chance..." Corpser said, letting his long-forgotten emotions rise. Then a though struck him. Emotions? The elevator stopped. Jammed. "Oh, come on," the evil Phantom yelled. The location he'd just passed was Moorcraft Manor. He was about to jump off, but then he heard someone yell out. "Helloooooooo?"
"Ooohh, I'm gonna have to go into the ball again."

I'm back!

((Finally the exams are over and I can get back to you guys :D . The fight scene was pretty nice Za-ck, I might not have been able to do better myself.
Tevokkia, the battle and destruction pretty much went on inside a library beneath the manor, so if the roof was falling then the floor might show signs of cracking. But yeah when I read it again it does seem sort of vague. The only monsters in the area are the Renegade back up teams and Corpser.
Anyway, back to the story))

Rultaos ran for dear life as the ceiling began collapsing down on him. He took one last glance at his mighty foe, to be forever buried and forgotten in the depths of the manor. [You were a worthy enemy. But the Clockworks will be a better place without you] He thought as he continued running through the ruined library, shield above his head. Discarded wood and metal fell down on him but his large shield was more than enough to protect him from the debris. He could see an exit nearby but he wasn't sure if the same one that the other Renegades entered by. It didn't matter now, he had to get out of here.

He sprinted for the exit and was the heat from the battle was soon replaced by the chilling mist surrounding Moorcroft.

He stopped in front of a squad of Renegades who immediately went to his aid when they saw the state he was in. Some silkwings being directed by a mender were tending to his wounds. but Rultaos wasn't concerned with his health, it was his team that he was worried about. Fridge, Vakros, and the Lumber were nowhere to be seen. "You! Did the squad led by Fridge make it out of the library. Or perhaps a grey mender by the name of Vakros?" He said to the pit boss who was in charge of the operation. "Hmm. Yes they did get out. But I didn't see the lumber and the slush puppy. Neither did I see a grey mender" The Pit boss said as he rummaged through his clipboard and drank his coffee.

"Oh no. Get a message to headquarters. I want all the Trojans, Lumbers, and any other strong unit we can spare. This mission just turned from scouting into rescue. Now!" He commanded the pit boss. The Pit boss nervously shivered when Rultaos barked his commands, but he soon composed himself and assigned one of his workers to return to the Treasure Vault with the message.

Rultaos only hoped that they would get to them before the debris did

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Meanwhile near the manor elevator...

The Spiral Warden was starting to get worried when he heard that the Renegades were still there, and had engaged an unknown enemy. Orders from Spiral HQ had told him to make sure that the knights were to remain at the foyer of the manor. The Spookats had used a dark ritual to disguise the paths to the other parts of the manor as dead end hallways or bottomless pits ((Game reference XD)). But the sounds of battle had become louder and he could hear falling debris.

[Darn it. What the heck are they doing in there?] He thought to himself as he stood sentinel at the manor entrance. He had asked Spiral HQ about it when he got his orders, but they said that it was on a need to know basis. The Spiral Order's secrecy when it came to delicate matters were infamous and so he knew that whatever was happening was important to their mission.

In the middle of his reverie he had heard a sound from nearby. "Helloooooooo?" said a voice.

The Warden recognized the voice as a Gremlin. He assumed that it was a Renegade who got lost. [If the knights see the Gremlin, it's as good as dead] He thought. He decided to find the source of the sound and hopefully hide it before any knights took notice. He told Kozma to remain at the entrance as he followed the sound to the elevator with his oversized Tempered Calibur drawn.

((Both Frostrex and Tevokkia can control the Warden from here on out. I just thought to make the encounter more interesting ;) ))

Defiler, who was completely

Defiler, who was completely unaware that ceiling was falling down, got crushed by the debris. He sighed. It seemed that one of the steel frames pierced his jelly arm. He grabbed the steel frame with his right hand and start corroding it. He then pushed the rock that was crushing him over. He tried to find the opponent he was just fighting. He was about 200 m away, talking to other renegades. He took his construct arm out and aimed for them. It launched a metallic beehive-like pod, which fired out hundreds of mini missiles, each sized about 1 inch. They were directly heading to the renegades.

((so sorry for not commenting. As I said before, no internet. I got the internet now, but its not wireless, so I still won't come up a lot sorry ): ))

Corpser was about to sneak up

Corpser was about to sneak up on the Gremlin when he saw a Spiral Warden. "Oh, this is much better," he said to himself. He stuck to the ground and floated to face the back of the over-sized Knight, he burst from the sphere and drew his Cutter. "Hey, bud!" The Phantom swung his weapon as the Warden turned, barely blocking the first strike and almost having his armoured head taken off by the ghost blade. "Oh, you gotta be kidding me," the Spiral Warden said to himself as he swung the Tempered Calibur to knock Corpser to the ground. "Arrrgghh!" he snarled, falling through ground as the Warden brought the blade crashing down. Now the Red Phantom had the upper hand. He laughed to himself as the Spiral Warden spiraled. "Guess that's why they're named the Spiral Knights."

He was trying to choose the right moment to spring up. He had moment where the Warden had his back to him, but he thought against it. To predictable. But now the Warden was looking down right at him. "Perfect," Corpser whispered to himself as he sprung right up, his Cutter facing point up. The Warden took the blow to the face, creating a giant dent in the front of the helmet. "Ow, darn it!" The Spiral Warden yelled as he held his face, open for attack. He swung the Cutter ten times very fast, hitting the Warden twenty times with the ghost blades included. It shredded parts of his armour. This made him extremely angry, causing him to bring down the Calibur on Corpser's head. THe force of it pushed him through the floor. The Warden stood looking at the ground blankly for a few seconds until another flurry of hits came his way. Some of them connected, but he rolled out of the way of most of them. He swung his Tempered Calibur, but the Phantom jumped back, snarling at him. He then dissapeared. "Wha-What?" Then he took a heavy blow to the back, knocking the giant man out.

He awoke some time later to find the Phantom sitting on his chest. "You know," it said, looking over the Warden's sword, "just because you have the bigger sword and frame, doesn't make you the better fighter," he mocked. "If you weren't so pathetic, I would have killed you. But I'll let you improve your fighting style first, so when I do take you down, I'll feel like I actually achieved something. So, farewell for now."
The Phantom smashed the Calibur in the Warden's face. But he realized something before that. It wasn't a regular Phantom. It was red.

This place is scary today

((Seriously Frostrex, not to start criticizing in my second post, but it's kinda' not cool to automatically beat the crap out of an NPC who is already established as being relatively strong. :/))

There was no answer to Bettit's call for a moment outside the sounds of falling rubble somewhere beneath her. She continued to inch over the cracked floor, testing every step with her slight weight in case it should be unstable, and had almost made it to the rear of the service desk when she heard footsteps coming from the direction of the mist curtain, an area she never went.

Shouting and the sounds of combat soon replaced the sounds of footsteps, and the Gremlin squeaked in alarm as she hurried to hug the back of the service desk wall. It took her a moment to screw up her courage to peek around the kiosk to see what was going on, lest one of the combatants see her and bring the fray in her direction. When she did, she gasped: a Phantom was one of the last things she expected to see here, fighting a Knight.

Bettit shook for a moment, afraid of the spectral creature, but then she swallowed hard and swung her bomb bag off of her back. Gritting her teeth, she dug around in it for something she had been saving ... none of her bombs would harm her allies, but this one was adjustable. She had always wanted to get to use it. Later, of course, she was going to have to try to remember how she made it.

Finally finding the thing at the very bottom, Bettit pulled her goggles down over her eyes and cranked the thing up, clicking the selection bar so the Knight would be designated "ally" and remain unharmed. Squinting mightily, she stepped out from behind the service area and gently rolled the armed bomb towards the Phantom and the Knight, glad that the former's back was to her. It came to stop a few inches away, and she ducked behind the kiosk, her head barely peeking out to watch her handiwork. She remembered a moment too late that she had never actually tested that particular bomb design ...

Retreat

((Frostrex, maybe you should've at least gotten hurt from fighting the Spiral Warden. If he was in charge of protecting a safe haven in the Clockworks then it only makes sense that he should be strong. Your character seems to have defeated him without breaking a sweat, not a very good way to roleplay. Although I do have to give you credit for detail, I think you gave your character a little too much power.

By the way, it states in the rules to have AT LEAST 1 paragraph of IC text. About 3-5 sentences I'll let it go for now since you might not have thought of it at the moment, but another slip-up with the rules and I'll have to give you a warning. 3 warnings will get you banned from the roleplay.

I'll take your internet problems into consideration Dyrus, but I hope you don't mind if we control your character when we feel the need to))

Rultaos was trying to relax as the silkwings and menders continued tending to his wounds. That's when he heard a sound come from the exit of the manor. It was a high-pitched, whizzing sound. He looked at the exit and froze for a moment when he saw the mass of rockets heading straight for them. When he regained himself a split second later he lunged for his dropped shield and yelled "Everyone look-out!" as he raised his only chance of survival against the incoming swarm.

He closed his eyes as he braced for the impact

Rultaos went temporarily deaf as the sound of explosions erupted around the mass of Renegades. Some had lunged out of the way while others tried to deflect the projectiles. He couldn't make anything else out of the chaos.

Eventually the last of the missiles exploded and the renegades began returning fire at The Defiler. Gun puppies and Manor Howlitzers emerged from their grates and sent a barrage of projectiles at The Defiler. Trying to give him a taste of his own medicine.

"Get everyone out of here now! Head back to the Treasure Vault! Gun puppies and Howlitzers, hold him off until the last of us have gotten out. Once were gone return to the transport system" Rultaos commanded the wounded and weary Renegades. "Sir, what about our forces who are still in there?" asked a a zombie in his rasping voice. "We'll have to come back for them later. It's too dangerous to remain here, now get going!" Rultaos replied. It was a quite a sight as everyone began heading back to the renegade elevator. Some had been crippled in The Defiler's attack and had to be carried by their allies. Rultaos himself carried an unconscious silkwing and a crippled Gremlin Thwacker.

The large band of monsters began making their way to the elevator when they saw an unpleasant sight. It was a red Phantom standing over the unconscious body of a Spiral Warden. [If he can defeat the Warden then he must be strong, but our numbers should be enough to overpower him] Rultaos thought as he began devising a battle strategy while they continued moving to the elevator.

Suddenly he saw a disc with a flashing light roll from behind the manor service desk and land near the Phantom. He easily recognized it as a Gremlin bomb, but it was of an unusual design. [Things are about to get real ugly in here...]

Beep and crackle

There was a long, high-pitched beep, followed by a crackle and a blinding flash of bluish light as the bomb went off. Bettit squeezed her eyes closed and turned away for a moment ... then whipped her head back around in consternation that there hadn't been more noise.

The bomb was still sitting there, unexploded and now silent except for the weak crackle as it emitted a rather unimpressive electric pulse every few seconds. The little Gremlin stared at it for two pulses then, cursing to herself, dug into her parts bag for her notes. [I wonder how Phantoms react to electric shock,] she thought absently as she rummaged [At least the first one had been pretty good]. She hoped it was badly, while simultaneously hoping she had taken notes during the tinkering frenzy that had created this particular bomb.

Ten seconds (and three pulses) later, Bettit had not found her notes, but the last flicker of electricity had crackled across the bomb's surface and vanished, leaving the shell slightly blackened.

Defiler looked at the

Defiler looked at the incoming projectiles, and sighed in annoyance. Sure, he was strong enough to take down the whole Dark City in matter of minutes, but these many? Not even him was capable of dodging all that. He sighed again. He really didn't want to do the metamorphosis, it hurts like hell. The process of allowing a specific type of cell to consume the whole body...painful. But it would be better than getting shot to death, right? The best monster type to get out this was clear. Trojan. 'God...I hate Trojans.' He muttered as his eyes glowed brighter. His wing surrounded him and hardened, making a cocoon. It soon fell off, revealing a Trojan with green eyes and gem. One of the gremlins whispered. ‘Cradle, watch over us.’ The Defiler was not a chimerical monster anymore. He was a Trojan. To be exact, a Trojan who’s DNA matches with the Trojan he most recently acquired. Defiler was Rultaos.

Defiler, looking at his body, was displeased. He never liked metamorphosis. He grabbed his CIV and the nearest fiend wing fossil. He then dashed at the projectile, blocking the ones in his way. He dashed until he reached where the renegades were. He slashed his sword once, and destroyed the puppies. He massacred renegades, until only one were left. A scared gremlin. The guy was shivering and crying as he looked at the face of the demon himself. Defiler walked to him. ‘I sense your fear and sadness. I also sense your wrath. But there is more. I sense curiosity.’ He whispered to the frightened gremlin. ‘You are very interested about my change, aren’t you?’ The gremlin nodded. ‘Very well. I will tell you. My crystal looks similar to the Trojans, but is very different. While their crystal is the life source, mine is DNA container, allowing me to sustain the form. I can combine these DNAs to create more perfect gene. While the original genes are diluted, other features are enhanced to cover it. I have over 100 of chimerical forms. The one I am normally in is most balanced and stable. Of course, I can change it anytime I want. The crystal also allows me to change to a certain species. This takes longer time and is not permanent. Lasts around an hour.’ As he said this, the rocks from his right arm started to crumble. ‘It’s reverting to its most stable form.’ He turned around to leave. ‘Oh!’ he said. ‘I almost forgot something.’ As gremlin looked around to find what he forget and felt an agonizing pain in his stomach. Defiler has pierced him with his sword. ‘Can’t let them know all that, can I?’ Rultaos' face crumbled and revealed dark and green glow zombie skull, smirking.

((Extra Facts: Defiler’s Crystal contains lots of DNA, here are what Defiler uses the most and what he uses them for
Spiral Knights DNA- Natural physical strength, Tool (weapon) mastery
Wolver DNA- Speed
Greaver DNA- Flight
Trojan-Strength, Endurance, Defence
Constructs(we are gonna assume some Constructs are alive like transformers)- Techy Stuffs, Fire power
Zombie- Head looks cool, no?
Gremlins- intellects
Lichen- Defence, Spikes
JK- Healing
Snarby-Invulnerability(not used often, as it is hard to control)

He also has more like strangers and snipes, but they are not used at all.

So how did he manage to turn into Rultaos? In the fight with Rultaos, Defiler absorbed his skin tissue. With this, the crystal automatically combined it to other trojan DNA to make more 'perfect' Trojan gene, which happens to be not that different to Rul's. And using this, he briefly replaces all the cells' DNA in his body with the clones of that DNA. Simples?))

((Yeah...That was a pretty long for me...half of them was explanation of Defiler...I guess thats because I tried to write more. You guys also should show what your char can do, its pretty fun to think about it :P))

Wait

((But Vakros dammaged The Defilier's crystal, shouldn't that kinda screw up the system?))
"Why aren't the Renegades here?" Vakros wondered. He wasn't looking too good, but it could be worse. MUCH worse. He looked over his body again. He thought that he might of broken a few ribs, but other than that he was okay. A new pain sliced through his chest. Okay, maybe this was going to take some time in the Medical Tent. He began to bandage himself. It was getting a tiny bit better. He then heard more crashes. He and the others peeked out. What Vakros said asounded him.
It was Rultaos.

Bumping up

((Nobody's been posting in a while, what happened to you guys? I find it hard to believe that you all left. Also, that's a pretty big power you gave to yourself Dyrus. I would've preferred that you messaged me before applying it, but too late to change that now.))

As Rultaos and his forces continued moving towards the elevator, he heard sounds of battle behind them. It seems like The Defiler had made a full recovery and was cutting his way through the defenses he had left behind. [Spirits of Almire, protect us]. Rultaos turned his attention towards the crimson Phantom; the Gremlin bomb appeared to be a dud. Sighing with relief, he shouted "You! Stay where you are! If you are an enemy of the knights then you are an enemy of ours. But I will give you a choice; you can fight us if you wish, but I warn you that you are outnumbered and many of us are skilled warriors. Or, you can walk away now before there anyone else gets hurt" Rultaos said as intimidatingly as he could.

Yes, they were wounded, but they were still battle-ready, and Rultaos was confident that they would be able to defeat or at least scare off this foe. He ordered a few troops to find the source of the malfunctioned bomb. Whoever threw it must be an enemy of the Phantom, and the enemy of their enemy is always a friend.

Rultaos looked the phantom in the eye and continued "What is your choice?" as he drew his Great sword should fighting be necessary. No matter what happened, he had to get everyone out of here before The Defiler reached them.

((@Azure-Orbit: What can we (Q-77, Subject 13, Vakros) do? We're nearly completely trapped under large amounts of rubble with only a potentially wounded and unconscious Gremlin and two Constructs (one missing an arm), right? I was sort of hoping/waiting for our little group would get rescued (thus my recent lack of additions to this RP) which I attempted to hint at with the activation of Subject 13's tracking device. I'm a bit low with ideas on how to get out of that predicament so I'm open to suggestions.))

Some app.

((Name: Kagozar
Race: Kat, Bloogato
Gender: Male
Personality: Extraordinarily cold and and calculating. He is constantly thinking of plans, all while adapting to every thing that happens. He is also very straightforward, and has his own definitions of right and wrong, and couldn't care less about any others. He hardly ever smiles.

Appearance: He looks worn out and tired, as if he has fought a million wars. He also is constantly looking at his surroundings and analyzing them.

Equipment: He has his bite, which inflicts freeze, his bullets, which he fires 3 at a time and also inflict freeze, and his dash, which allows him to quickly maneuver around the area, and his wits & intelligence. Note that a freeze bullet makes weaker victims very fragile.

Skills: Incredibly intelligent, and is constantly planning, regardless of who or what he is facing. Uses everything he can to his advantage.

Biography: The average Kat lifespan is 6 months. Through luck and incredible  intelligence, Kagozar has been alive for much longer, despite being on the front line of Kats. He has avoided places such as arena, and has thought of ways to kill knights, or run away in the worse case scenario. On the flipside, though, this has resulted in most people he knew dying at the hands of the knights. Friends, family... They have all been slaughtered. It has tormented Kagozar for months and years.

Eventually, he replaced the guilt and burden with that of a deep hatred for knights. Kagozar can never trust a knight, and each one  reminds him of every desceased Kat he knew. His ultimate goal is to see all of the knights leave cradle. When he heard about TCR, he was overjoyed. Not because of how it would help the knights, but because of how it would rid cradle of the genocidal knight. He will go through whatever he has to to accomplish his plan.

Additional facts: Not very open-minded when it comes to other people's things. It takes a lot to impress him.

You talkin' to me?

((I'm so excited to see posts again! (I get attached to a game, and specifically to characters, rather quickly and easily.) Since I was one of the lasts to have a turn in character, I had to wait until someone else posted to do anything. And Isisdelltion is correct- I did promise to draw the Renegades if there was regular posting ... the more regular the posting and the better the roleplaying, the better the character portraits. I'd rather bribe people than have a slow role play. (More than a day between posts makes Tev a sad panda.) Bettit, in case someone hasn't seen what she looks like (I don't know who frequents the fan art thread). Also, some Vakros, because I was talking to Isisdelltion in that thread and particularly enjoy drawing gremlins.))

Startled, Bettit jumped in the air with a squeak, dropping her bag as the new voice boomed out. She had been so focused on the Phantom and her bomb, that she really hadn't noticed that others had arrived. She listened carefully to the ultimatum as she knelt to pick it up again and then shrugged it back onto her shoulders ... was he talking to her, too? Or just to the phantom? If he was talking to her, it would be best to just dart for the elevator and make an escape as quickly as possible. If he wasn't talking to her ... maybe it would still be best.

The Phantom's reply reached her ears as she considered. There were a lot of whoever it was, and they were not knights. Bettit suddenly felt a part of her stricken with curiosity, which warred with the rest of her for a moment before she shoved her goggles back up onto her forehead and peeked her head out from behind the service kiosk.

Yes. There were a lot of them. The little gremlin squinted hard ... she had never been this close to a Trojan before: she mostly just avoided anywhere they would be and heard stories about them from others who delved deeper in the Clockworks or further from Emberlight than she. There certainly seemed to be other gremlins with the group, and they didn't look to be from the Great Colony.

"Are ... are you talking to me, too?" She piped up finally, still mostly hidden by the kiosk. "Because if you are, I'll go too. In a different direction than him though, if you don't mind," she added, shrinking back behind the wall so that only part of her head and one hand showed. She was shaking so hard, her teeth were chattering. "And ..." her voice dropped to barely above a whisper. "Can I have my casing back first?"

The Crimson Phantom

Corpser spun to where the Gremlin was hiding. "Ahhh... Yes, I was going to attack, that's right," he said to himself, though loud enough for the Renegades to hear. He brought his Cutter, the ghost blade following. "I hope you don't mind." He approached the scared Gremlin, ready to deliver the blow. But something struck him. He couldn't do it. He turned blue again, by accident. "Great, now my old emotions are getting to me...", he whispered to himself. He turned back to crimson, but he kept changing back. No matter how hard he tried, he would always change to blue. He let out a low growl. What was he going to do?

((Also, this is merely a temporary character and is not to be controlled by anyone except for Vakros, 13, and/or Fridge for use of escaping the rubble. Any three of you can take control after I post and get out, then send this character away.))

The Spirit of the Manor, awoken by the battle within, glided out over the countless rows of burning bookshelves and scattered torches.
"By the Core, what have they done to my house?"

Fortunately for the renegades, the Spirit knew that this was to happen someday, and it knew that it served a very important purpose. He was not malevolent or angered, simply mildly annoyed.

He spotted the few poor creatures huddling under a huge pile of rubble and glided towards them, helping them out one final time before gliding away into nothingness...

((Dyrus, Necroterra just said that the manor spirit dug them out of the rubble. Also, I don't think The Defiler should be able to switch forms so quickly after using it, seems a little overpowered to me. At least make him have like a timer in between shapeshifts. And make sure to read other people's post so things don't get confusing. I feel as if I've been very lenient with you already so if another thing comes up I may have to give you a warning.

Also, thanks for the voluntary art, Tevokkia. I hope you don't mind if I put the a link in the front page ;) ))

"Well, since you technically can't kill me, I have a chance. But since there seems to be alot of you, you still are at an advantage..." Said the red phantom to the renegades. Rultaos disliked the the foe's arrogance, but he did have a point. the best they could do against the Phantom was to turn it into ball form and leave, unless they had someway of permanently eliminating it.

"You did not attack me. I have no quarrel with you, only the Knights. If you stand in my way, I will attack you. Are we clear?" The Phantom said at last. Rultaos was satisfied, he had seen enough battle for the day. "Fine, I do not wish any more harm to befall on either of us. But I have a feeling that we shall see each other again very soon" Rultaos replied.

Suddenly he heard a voice from behind the manor service desk.

"Are ... are you talking to me, too?" said the voice ""Because if you are, I'll go too. In a different direction than him though, if you don't mind. And ... Can I have my casing back first?" The voice became smaller and smaller until it was barely a whisper; it also sounded very nervous. then the Phantom piped up again "Ahhh... Yes, I was going to attack, that's right, I hope you don't mind." He said malevolently as he moved towards the back of the kiosk. He prepared a blow but turned blue as he tried to bring down the blade which seemed to stop him. "Great, now my old emotions are getting to me..." The phantom said to itself.

Rultaos felt the need to intervene.

"I know that it may not be my business as to the fate of this poor creature, but I have never stood by while a murder upon an innocent is being enacted. I ask you to walk away now or I will have to resort to violence" Rultaos said. A Pit boss interrupted before the phantom could answer "Sir, why should we trouble ourselves with this Gremlin? She is not one of ours, at least the last time I checked the logs". "Renegade or not, she is still a Clockwork dweller, and their lives are what we are fighting to preserve. Surely they shall die without the Clockworks as a sanctuary. And unless they stand in our way then I will gladly protect them"

Rultaos answered somewhat quietly, but could still be heard by others. This answer had silenced the Pit boss and he turned his attention back to the Phantom, waiting for a response.

Eeep!

((That's fine! ^.^ I may have to ask a few people for some more appearance details eventually, though. And I may have to take little hiatuses depending on my client load.))

"Ahhh... Yes, I was going to attack, that's right. I hope you don't mind."

Bettit gasped and began inching backwards as the Phantom walked towards her, tripping on an uneven bit of the cracked floor and landing with a squeak of mingled surprise and terror. She knew she wouldn't have time to get back up before he got to her.

The little gremlin, covering her face with her arms, waited for the blow to come ... but it didn't. "Great, now my old emotions are getting to me," the phantom said to itself, and Bettit squinted out from between her arms at it. It was flickering back and forth between red and blue in apparent consternation, sword raised to strike but not moving to do so. He growled.

Thanking the Core, Bettit scrambled to her feet while the Phantom was occupied, darting from behind the kiosk as the Trojan spoke in her defense. The group of other creatures seemed as good a protection from the Phantom as any (and probably better than most), so she made a dash for it, intending to take refuge behind the guardian-minded Trojan. So what if the Pit Boss sounded somewhat less charitable?

The Trio's Situation

Vakros wasn't quite sure what that thing was, but it was nice, digging the trio out from the debris. Before he could thank it, the Core, and any other type of god, Gremlin or not, it disappeared. "What the..." He started muttering to himself, then stopped at the heavy sound of crunching, coming closer and closer. He turned to the others to make sure he wasn't just imagining things. They all heard it too. It was kind of like the sound of Trojan footsteps. It was right next to them. Vakros turned back to the hole in the debris and beams that the ghost thing dug out. A zombie face peered in, and Vakros felt the ground tremble slightly as the monster laughed. It was round two, and this time Rultaos was nowhere to be found. ((I hope that it's okay that I tweaked Dyrus's last post alittle, and forced us into a fight. Stupid Emotions...

Corpser smashed his blade to the ground, greating a giant crack. "Fine then," he said loudly without turning, "I'll leave." He began to walk away, towards the Elevator. As it started to go down, Corpser shrank into the ball of light. "Why are the good guys always so trusting?", he asked himself. He went along under the floor right under them, ready to listen to what they had to say. He could also kinda see them, too. "Time to wait, I guess." Then a white wisp went by. "What the hell?" A ghostly body formed. "Oh, no. Not the spirit of Moorcraft." He was being told something, in his head, telepathically. But he had no brain, so how? "Leave. Leave now." Corpser was stuck. He wanted, needed to stay, but this ghost looked a lot more scary then he would ever be...

Let's get this started...

Subject 13 felt something within as the Spirit pulled them out from the rubble. Pleasure. Gratefulness. Subject 13 would've thanked it but it vanished before Subject 13 could decide what to do. "What the..." the Gremlin known as Vakros exclaimed in surprise. The Gremlin began to mutter quietly to himself as Subject 13 replaced the Kat upon its shoulder. Subject 13 knew. The Spirit must have had somewhere to be. Quite decent of it to go out of its way to help them. Subject 13 stopped suddenly in surprise as soon as it started to walk. What appeared to be another Undead creature stood before them, its horrible laugh somehow shaking the ground. Subject 13 prepared to place the Kat back on the ground as it stood by for orders from Q-77.

Distraction

((Sorry about not posting in a long time. I've been busy in addition to internet issues and such.))

Q-77 had been struggling. With only one arm, it was hard lifting the rocks out of the way. It didn't look like they would escape anytime soon. As he was processing this depressing thought, something strange arrived. He couldn't describe its appearance well seeing as it happened so quickly, but the thing reached down, and somehow instantly dug them out of the rubble that they had been trapped under. He was about to give thanks, but the mysterious spirit disappeared without a trace before he could say anything.

Puzzled, but pleased at this turn of events, Q-77 was about to order his makeshift team to head back to the surface of the manor, when all of a sudden, an ugly Zombie head reared itself, surprising him. As it began to laugh a VERY familiar evil cackle, Q-77 realized with dread that the Defiler was back for revenge.

Immediately, his combat programming kicked in. Before the Defiler could react, Q-77 jabbed his blade (which he still had) into the face of the Defiler. While it didn't pierce the bony surface, it released a concentrated burst of super-cooled air, instantly encasing the monster's head in a shell of ice. While it was still in shock at the move and struggling to free its head, Q-77 yelled at the top of his vocalizer to retreat to safety. Thus Q-77 scooped up the still-injured Vakros with his working arm and ran with Test Subject 13 (still carrying the unconscious Konjuring Kat) ((seriously, this guy has been asleep a long time)) as fast as they could away from the Defiler.

To the rescue!

((Removed Xairathan from the player list, I may also have to remove Xplad and Faronel since they've been inactive lately. Also, go ahead and begin posting Outnuendo. Just try to think of a sensible way to introduce your character into the story.))

Even though the Phantom had decided to leave, Rultaos still kept his eyes trained on their foe. There was just something about that Phantom that he didn't trust. When the Phantom went on the elevator and left, Rultaos relaxed the grip on his blade. It was only then that he noticed the Gremlin he had recently protected hiding behind him, right next to the crystal.

"The danger is gone for now little one. You may take your leave, and I would prefer you not stand so close to my life-source. Cycles of battle has left me with a discomfort for anything to be within its range" Rultaos told the small, and seemingly squinting Gremlin.

"Alright, everyone move out and return to the Treasure Vault. I'll stay behind and see if I can find the missing Renegades" He commanded his weary group. "Are you sure you'll be alright on your own sir? If that 'thing' can tear through a blockade of gun puppies, backed by our forces, then what chance do you have of defeating 'it' in single-combat?" Said a Gremlin scorcher.
"I have no intention of trying to fight The Defiler again. The results of the last battle have made me sure of that. I will do what I can to avoid him and see if I can get them out of here without further casualties. I also seem to have lost communication with a team led by Snarp. Hopefully I can find them as well" Rultaos said in answer to the Scorcher.
"I advise that you take some of our more battle-ready forces with you for the rescue operation" Said a Red Mecha knight.
"No, more men will increase my chances of getting spotted. But I will at least take one Silkwing with me should the Renegades be in need of Medical attention" Rultaos said as a Silkwing immediately emerged from what was left of his troops.
"Excellent. Everyone return to the Vault now, If the communication center does not hear from me soon, report my failure to Takun" The Trojan announced as the Renegades began leaving by batches of the elevator.
"Spirits be with you Rultaos" A zombie said, though it might be a weird thing for a zombie to say.

When the last of his forces left, he began heading back inside Moorcroft. "Let's go, and watch my back, literally" Rultaos said to the Silkwing who nodded in acknowledgement.

Corpser was incredibly annoyed...

"Why can't you just leave me alone?!", he shouted. The Spirit kept repeating the message.. Then it vanished. "Thank you... Oh, it was just distracting me..." He was following the Trojan, Whose name was Rultaos, thanks to a weird zombie. 'Rultaos. Rultoas, Rultaos... Doesn't roll off the tongue quite well..." He floated beneath the horse-headed monster, accompanied by a Silkwing. "Hhhmmm... I think I did hear him say something about other Renegades... He must be going to assist them... Perfect..." He could, and probably would, strike then, but he would be outnumbered, unless it was just two. He had heard of The Defiler, of course, and just then the thought struck him. They could band together. "The Fall of Troy, is about to begin..." He began zipping about, creating blurs of red and black, which would surely put Rultaos off guard, and possibly side-track him. He would then looked for the Defiler and the other Renegades...

A Ghost and a Golem

((I originally planned for Bettit to try and communicate more with Rultaos which is why I didn't move so much, but since you initiated a fight sequence I guess it's go time :) ))

Rultaos barely made it inside Moorcroft when flashes of red and blue began moving around him at a dizzying pace. [What in the name of Cradle is happening?!] He thought frantically. He backed up against a a cracked and dusty wall in an attempt to protect his crystal. The speed of this strange foe was a hundred times faster than he; any hope of intercepting an attack would be in vain.

"Get behind me!" He shouted at the Silkwing who immediately complied and squeezed itself in between the wall and the crystal. Rultaos had his shield raised and great sword drawn. He was carefully watching the movements of whoever this enemy was from behind the shield, trying to find a pattern in the blur of red and blue. When he located a pattern, he would bring down his sword at the right moment and hopefully land a hit

Just no luck staying out of the way of this Phantom

((To answer your question, Frostrex, I'll draw anyone who is active and not receiving warnings from Azure-Orbit or the thread moderators. Some characters may just take me longer because I find them difficult to draw or the appearance section on their application wasn't enough for me to get a good idea of them. Right now, I'm just doing 10 minute speed portraits because I'm on deadline for some other projects. That said: Rultaos, because he was the easiest of the current posters to draw (excuse the terrible arm guards) ))

"The danger is gone for now little one. You may take your leave, and I would prefer you not stand so close to my life-source. Cycles of battle has left me with a discomfort for anything to be within its range," said the Trojan. Bettit took several steps back, and one to the side.

"Sorry," she murmured. "And thank you." It seemed her reply was lost, though, in the flurry of plans thrown back and forth among the assembled group. She stood, listening, because she had no intention of heading down the elevator so soon after the Phantom had done so. As the group dispersed, Rultaos and a silkwing heading deeper into the Mansion while the rest headed for a Treasure Vault somewhere, the little gremlin wondered whether they were going to leave the Spiral Warden just lying there. It seemed so.

"I guess it's just you and me," Bettit said aloud to the unconscious Knight as she stepped over to pick up the expired casing of the dud bomb. She stood there looking at him for a moment, wondering whether she had routed too much power to the ally selection unit, or whether she had not put a large enough piece of crystal in the conduction coil, or ... she shook her head out of the tinkering reverie. She had probably better do something about the Warden lying here, and then maybe go follow Rultaos (although not too closely, so as not to make him nervous about his crystal). The idea of riding the elevator still made her nervous, and she wasn't entirely sure where else to go. Besides, if he was looking for missing persons, he might need someone to get into little spaces and she felt as though she owed it to him to help.

The little gremlin contemplated for a moment. The Warden was much too heavy for her to move, so she would have to get someone else to do it. She trotted over to the mist curtain, hesitated, and stuck her head through. "Hey! Come get the Warden! Some Phantom knocked him out!" Before Kozma could do more than turn her head in Bettit's direction with an expression of surprised confusion on her face, the gremlin tore off at full speed in the direction that Rultaos had taken, hoping to catch up with the Trojan.

Stepping through a doorway, Bettit caught up with him, all right. Rultaos had his back (and the silkwing) to a wall as a swirl of lights that could only be that Phantom back again zipped around the room. She groaned to herself, stepped behind some sort of decorative ... something-or-other ... and dug out a bomb of a design she knew worked. Just in case. So far, this was not turning out to be as good a day as she had hoped.

Hanaphs had been talking to another dust zombie. "Wow, you're 202? I'm only 95..." He was then interupted by the sound of a stopping elevator. A handful of Regenades walked off the elevator. "Finally!" He said happliy. "What'd you guys find?" A Grimlin walked up. To him and explained, "Well, we found that crazy Konjuring Kat, the evil Defiler, and a possibly psycotic phantom."

"Huh... Sounds like you guys had a rough day." Hanaphs replied.

"Yes. Yes we did." The other confirmed.

Hanaphs sat, watching the elevator unload with passengers as he thought about what to do. Should he help the others? Ever since he was attacked by that knight, he hadn't been in good shape to fight. Then, he decided to wait down in the Treasure Vault until he heard screaming, explosions, cry for help, a cry of pain, or a crashing sound. And that's just what he did.

Two against four, or five if you count the silkwing...

Vakros was yelling a Fridge to let him run himself, and eventually squeezed out from the Mecha's grasp and started to run, his chest hurting brutally. He took the chance and looked back, only to see the Defiler recovering, and slowly gaining on them. Vakros put on an extra burst of speed and caught up to the others, and was just able to keep pace with Subject 13. He almost started laughing wen he saw the Lumber, but his chest burned with a whole new pain when he started, replacing his smile with a grimace. His sides pained him, and he felt like he couldn't run any more, when they turned around a corner, nearly crashed into a startled Gremlin, didn't heed her warnings of not continuing, then nearly ran into Rultaos, who looked at them happily, then saw what was behind them and frowned, fierce determination clearly shown on his face. They turned to see what they were facing, both a giant Chimera, and some kind of, errm... light-monster-thingy. Vakros brought out his wrench, and almost surprised himself when he saw the black crystal on the end of it. "Forgetting about that already?" He thought to himself bringing it to a ready stance.

What the-?

Bettit was squinting at the Phantom's light show, occasionally glancing over at Rultaos and waiting to see whether she would need to hurl her bomb, when a grey blur sped into her vision and nearly crashed into her. She squeaked in surprised and jumped backwards, nearly dropping the bomb, as a grey-colored gremlin and some sort of construct blew past her.

"Wait! Don't go that way! There's a-" she started to call in warning as they skidded to a stop near Rultaos. "Phantom over there," she finished lamely and blew a tuft of hair out of her face. [They must be the missing persons,] she figured, and turned to glance in the direction they had come in, then did a double take.

She actually did drop her bomb at the sight of what was coming, and it was several seconds before she unfroze enough to retrieve it.

((I have to admit, most of this doesn't have much relevance with other things in the RP. This is more of a personal scenario.

Also, the beginning's in 2nd person.))

Confusion was among all knights, and the ones in this party was no exception. All the part could do was talk as they ran through candle stick keep.

"I still can't believe what's happening at moorcraft manor. They've completely shut it off, and everyone says that we shouldn't go down there."

"Wonder what it could be. Maybe that Kat has finally done a dark ritual?"

"Nah, the last time I heard, the whole thing was being overrun by monsters."

"I'm surprised they didn't just completely shut knight access to it."

"Well, think about how hard it must be to disable it for EVERY knight..."

What they didn't notice, however, was one Kat that, instead of attacking them, was silently following them.

Eventually, they had reached a safe point. They could keep going forward, from safepoint to safepoint, or they could try and go for a bunch of treasure boxes in the dark. Eventually, they reached a compromise: one would stay behind, while two would go for the boxes.

The knight was starting to get worried. It seemed as though he had been waiting forever. Were they spending their time carefully unwrapping each box?

Then he got a message on his radio.

"God, there's some sort of... hostile ene-... we still don't know who or what-GAH!"

The knight knew something was wrong. While readying himself, he realized something: he was surrounded by shadows. He could be attacked from any direction. The only solution he had was to charge up his ascended calibur.

So he charged it.

And waited.

And waited.

And waited.

Then, out of the corner of his eyes, he saw an ice-blue shape fast approaching. Releasing the charge attack, he seemed to have gotten a hit, as the monster was howling in pain as it retreate into the shadows.

And then, while still in disbelief, he saw it rush in again, and bite his arm. As he fought back hard enough to make the monster retreat, he felt a searing pain that was only reduced when he realized that his arm was almost frozen over.

He realized, soon enough, that his best chance would be bombs: they would encompass a wide area, and could hit the enemy regardless of where he was standing.

He decided to bring out the big one: nitronome. Setting up the bomb, he watched it detonate, with his vision temporarily blinded. However, he didn't hear anything, so he knew that the bomb was wasted. However, it soon dawned upon them that there was a massive downside that he had ignored: if the monster was outside the range of the bomb, he could rush in during the blindness and get a surprise attack on him.

And he the realized that the monster had done just that, as he felt three bullets being hammered into his back, freezing him in place. He had lost.

"Okay, I give up," he called out into the darkness. "Now show yourself."

When the monster came forward, the knight's face was like that after just smashing it with a hammer. The monster was just a simple Bloogato!

What surprised him even more, and scared him, was that the monster could talk.

"Take me to moorcraft manor."

The knight decided to go along with it.

"Why?"

"Why do you need to know?"

He now noticed that the Kat was having trouble talking, and had a scar ridding down his face, in between his eyes.

"Why should I even listen to you?"

The monster made an indication to the nearby candle, that the knight was in range of.

"You know what cold things do to fire?"

"It cools it down, to the point when it hardly gives of light. And what happenes when you're wandering around here without light?"

It finally hit the knight on the head, like a brick.

"You're planning to kill me if I don't help you."

The monster's speech was becoming more gruff.

"...exactly. Now, what... *weeze*... do you think happened... *cough*... to your friends?"

The knight was appalled.

"Can't exactly...*cough cough*...run from something when you...*weeze*...can't run, can you?"

"Uhh..okay then...to Moorcraft Manor we go!"

As they were heading there, Kagozar let out a deep sigh. He had first became interested in the party when they had been talking about the manor, as, in addition to the whole thing being absurd, he was friends with the conjuring Kat. Dispatching two of the party members was pretty easy, as they were already in the shadows, and he just needed to prevent them from outrunning grimalkins. The third was tricky. Not only was he standing in the light, he had gotten a hit on him, which had a pretty big toll, despite hom much he had tried to cover it up. Overall, He was wounded, tired, and exhausted.

Finally, he reached the distinctive purple hue of moorcraft manor.

Corpser stopped...

Coorpser stopped in front of the others. "Oh, I'm gonna be compressed..." He was surrounded, but a smile grew on his face. The Defiler walked through the other door. "Defiler! I wish to join you in your quest..." Corpser stood, looking at his enemies very carefully. There was the Trojan, the Gremlin who had eye problems, another Gremlin with a black crystal on his wrench, who was also grey-furred, and a Construct. A Mecha Knight, to be exact. Cyro. "That Trojan's going to be the worse. He was studying my movements... If I can start again, and go faster, I should be able to surprise him..."

Race

((Not to be annoying, but that's 3rd Person from the perspective of one character, then 3rd from Kagozar, Outnuendo.))
Subject 13 re-secured the Kat on its back as Q-77 quickly froze the enemy, scooped up the Gremlin, and gave the order to retreat. Subject 13 turned roughly 180 degrees as fast as it could and began to walk. Subject 13 watched as Q-77 took off at what seemed to be a blinding speed though it stopped every few seconds as it malfunctioned sending electricity coursing through its body and shocking the Gremlin. Subject 13 turned its torso with its legs still walking away from the rubble so it could see behind it. The hostile which was now quickly identified as the Chimera easily escaped the Freeze and set off at a pace that, if the calculations of Subject 13 were correct, could easily overtake that of Subject 13. Subject 13 chose at that moment to put more energy into its walking speed but it quickly saw that it was of little help. It sank not 30 seconds later into a particularly unstable mound of rubble, and fell front-first onto the ground.
Subject 13 waited. It sensed that the Chimera passed right by them. Strange. Subject 13 and the Kat must not have been its objective. Subject 13 felt surprise. And what may have been relief. It was not sure. Stunned by this unusual revelation and the variety of new feelings, Subject 13 lay there for approximately 20 seconds when it realized that its objective still stood: that it was to evacuate the Kat (which it may have been crushing at the moment) and retreat. So it made a great effort and put a large amount of energy into getting up on to its feet again. It hastily replaced the Kat on its shoulder (it felt like it was getting better at that), climbed out of the rubble, and set off to continue its retreat and rendezvous with its squad.
