A reminder: I still need applications!

"So... we leave then?" Dusk said.
"I guess so. If someone was already here then the captain probably knows who. Let's head back!" I said.
The group grumbled about not being able to finally get the saboteur.
We went around the corner were the elevator was, so that we could head up. I was surprised that it had survived the explosion. We all stepped on, and Enigma pressed the button. We were being lifted upward when it stopped, shut down, and crashed into the ground sending us into a pile on the floor. Dusk who was at the top of the pile got off and said, "Now what? We climb up?"'
"I guess so" Angelo said.
"We have to climb THAT?" I pointed upward indicating the drop that went almost straight down, and at least 100 feet tall.
I sighed and walked over to the wall with the others, but Dusk stayed put and looked like he was concentrating.
"What is it Dusk?" I asked.
"Shhh" He said. "Do you hear that?"
I listened and thought I heard a voice speaking. I nodded to Dusk and silently told everyone to be quiet and follow me.
We turned a corner in the cave and the voice was louder. I estimated that he/she was somewhere in the room, so I motioned everyone to hide in the bush that was right next to us. We all crowded inside as I heard the voice. It seemed like it was right next to us.

"Are they gone?" a voice asked. It sounded strangely familiar. Another one replied," I believe so."
I heard some scuttling and feet moving. "We should get out of here" the first voice said. Suddenly I realized who was there.
My heart skipped a beat when I realized that I knew both of the voices. My throat was dry, and it ached, so when I jumped out I could not say a word. In front of me were Winnip and Samantha. Winnip gasped in surprise but quickly regained his composure, and spoke with a calm voice.
"What are you guys doing here?"
I stared at him for a second, then studied Samanthas face: although she looked calm as well, I could see a familiar crease when people were panicking.
I tried to make my voice sound grim. "We were looking for the saboteur." I silently added the s.
I looked at the burn marks on the ground. "Your work?" I asked.
Winnip started, "Yes we- *sigh* I won't insult your intelligence any longer. Obviously, you know, it was us."
I already figured it out, but to hear it in person was terrible. I just wanted to crawl away somewhere and die.
I whispered, "Why...?" I said it so quietly I was wondering if he even heard it.
"Why?" he said. He made it sound like a stupid question. "Because it told us to."
I made a confused face. "It?"
"Yes it- Well.... You wouldnt understand. Monomi has plans for the spiral knights. And you are interfering."
Monomi. I heard it from somewhere in Haven. Wasnt it a statue? I shrugged the thought off, getting back to Winnip.
"Now, we have to kill you. A shame, you wouldve made great addition to the team."
"I dont know what youre talking about, but you cant do this." I said.
Winnip took a bomb out of a satchel, and threw it at us.
"Goodbye" he said simply. He and Samantha started to walk away. I quickly picked the bomb up and threw it at them."
"Just stop" he said. "Theres no hope for you. "
We continued to throw it for a few minutes. I was starting to think that they were very stupid. They just threw A bomb at us. What made them think we would just wait there until it exploded? I told the others to get out before it exploded but they declined.
"We are in this toether" Dusk said.
((Im srry, im getting lazy. Lemme just inish up))
I had no idea what was happening. And I had no answers. But I had to stop them.
I grinned as the bomb went to zero. Talk about going out with a bang.

A yound knight in proto stepped off the elevator and onto a path that led to Haven. He had made it out of the chasm! He grinned triumphantly but then felt a rocking. He looked behind him and saw a huge explosion light up the sky. Was that normal?
~
Srry about the poor writing at the end of this. Im just REALLY anxious about the new fic comin up.

Looking into the scope of my gun, I swiftly put it into focus, and saw my target several hundred yards away. For a rookie, it would be an impossible shot, but I was no rookie. Before starting my routine I briefly pondered why I had taken this job. My main target was the not some random guild master. The master suddenly walked toward the Haven Bazaar, and I had to turn the gun completely to keep up with him.
I had taken this job because my employer promised me certain…. items… in return for “a turn-around.” That was a name I made up for when the employer would want him out of the way, but not eliminated. It would just be so much easier if he destroyed the fool. I snorted but quickly stopped myself when I realized someone could hear me.
The knight I wanted to kill was named Vendana. She was a higher up member of the spiral order, and resided in a building on the other side of Haven. She also used it as a place for her to work. Some people wonder where all the weapons came from, and the answer is her company. Nowadays you can buy a recipe anywhere and craft a weapon, but they're the ones who made those recipes. The company is well known and everyone trusts it.
I don't.
I had a friend- no, a best friend who worked for the company. He told me, he wasn't allowed to see his coworkers and how everything was so secretive. One day he told me he was on the verge of uncovering a dark secret about the company, something that might destroy it. But the following night, he was found dead on his doorstep, with a box of weapons he was delivering. I never trusted anyone as much as I did him. We did everything together. I had no social contact with anyone whatsoever after that. I know that the people who killed him was the same company he worked for.
Why? Because I saw it.
It was a beautiful day, not in my taste at all. In the orange sunset I could see the targets flowing skolver robes, with an Azure guardian helm, and a blackened crest slung across his back. A gentle breeze tugged against a nearby knights gunslinger armor. Haven was bustling with activity today: Even from up here, I could hear the excited ramblings of knights who wanted to find….. Well from what I heard, someone called a game master. What was the game though?
A few knights were laughing in the garden below me, causing me to blow a fuse.
“Stupid knights” I mumbled. “Don’t know anything…”
The target walked up on the stairs and waved a warm greeting to the knights, who returned with a wave and a carefree laugh.
Entering the Bazaar walked over to Béchamel and had a brief word with her. After that he started towards an abandoned alley, “The perfect place”, I thought to myself. I positioned myself on the master’s left building in the alley, just above two snipes. They were both very strange. One pulsed a light emerald green, and I can’t say what the other one was.
The one I couldn’t say said, “So Coriosis, what were you just doing?”
So apparently snipes had names. And they talked…..
“Well, I just went around Haven with some idiot knights chasing after me. One knight named Atgatg was pretty cool though. ((*Wink wink*))
Enough with the snipes, I turned my attention back to the target. He was out of anyone’s earshot, so no one would know. And when he came to, he’d think it was a dream.
I loaded what looked to be a tranquillizer dart, with similar effects, but yet it was so very different. It’s tip was specially made not to go through, or stay attached to the knight, but it would bang of said knight. The whole thing was made of a material that would dissolve after use in a time of 13 hours.
The scope was aimed at his left leg, just above the knee, and with one push of a finger the trigger was pulled. I watched for a few seconds then wondered why the target was still moving. Surely I didn’t miss.
It couldn’t this gun had technology that normal knights wouldn’t be able to purchase in decades. It had a long barrel, slick and ready. A black tube that held the darts, and of course, the scope.
The gun made noise though, and the two snipes below me looked up at me with big round eyes.
Coriosis yelled, “What the #$@! Is that! We never designed a SNIPER RIFLE!”
I aimed the gun at the snipe signaling for it to shut up, and both of them flew away.
The target down below heard us, and ran around the corner.
But it wasn’t the worst of my news, when I felt a gun’s barrel push against the back of my neck.
“Hands up, Valen” the voice hissed.
I had been working for ten years, taking jobs to earn cash for my work, and trying to avoid this guy.
I cursed under my breath.
“Frostrex…!”

This is the start of a new fanfiction called fire. Don't worry Ill change to title tomorrow.
I think that's a good enough intro!
I'm too sleep-deprived to leave any real feedback at the moment, so I'll do that tomorrow. For future reference, though, any specific sorts of characters you need?
I dunno. I know Ima gonna mention pretty much every author in the vault at least once.
It looks like it's going to be an interesting story, but the way you flipped between talking about the target and the company head that Valen wanted to kill was confusing ... for a little bit, I thought it was the same person. XD Other than that, you've got a good sense of tension going on.
Ty Tev.
Also, I encourage everyone to give me your feedback and suggestions.
Im going to move this to a new thread
Did I ever move this to a new thread? I dunno. But this brings back so many memories of the good 'ol days.
