If you want to suggest a character do so in this thread:

http://forums.spiralknights.com/en/node/42339

Character suggestions in this thread here will not be considered.

This thread is for help with technical aspects like Spiral Spy Scenes, custom textures, etc. Possibly story boarding if I need it.

--------------------------------

=====HOW YOU CAN HELP=====

Just making this prologue was quite a bit of work to do myself, especially setting up the general scenes like walls and flooring. To make this a reality I'm going to be needing help and support from other people in these ways:

Scene Construction (Skip this if you don't know Spiral Spy well)

THIS IS IMPORTANT. The most time consuming part of this is just making the backgrounds for the story, placing all the walls, floors, various generic props and such is tedious and boring, its working with the characters that makes Spiral Spy fun. If your one of those people who have experience with Spiral Spy you can help me by making various generic scenes I can work with, so all I have to do is place some props to spruce it up and set up the characters.

Posted how to make walls in a nutshell in Spiral Spy here

You can do this by creating a scene, then saving it and uploading the file somewhere I can download it. Some things to keep in mind when making a scene for me:

1. Consider what angles the scene will be viewed from, trying to make a scene that is meant to be viable from any angle takes a long time and will be very large in terms of data space it will take up. Is the scene meant to be used for a close up shot or a long distance one? This could influence how much detail you put in and scaling aspects like the size of floor tiles.

2. Consider the balance between how real/good it looks and how much data space it takes up, Spiral Spy can only handle so much before it crashes from been overloaded with models, so your scene can look fantastic but if I place a character and the program crashes then the whole thing is useless to me, remember to leave some space for me to work with. About 100 environment models is about the maximum size I would like to be used for background models.

In the future I may ask for help making specific scenes for a particular setting but for now I would greatly appreciate any generic scenes for the following:

Clockworks
Sky Islands
Wolver Dens
Haven-ish settings

I'm going to need a lot of these to work with and if I don't get help on this part I will kill the project regardless of how much support is posted for it cause it would be too much for me to place all the floors and walls myself.

Here are some examples of what I need, to make these work download the file and in Spiral Spy go File>Environment>Restore, and open the scene file (feel free to use them for your own work):

--------------------------------------

Story Boarding

I have an overall plot roughly drafted out but most it is vague and subject to change, I man ask for assistance from the Fan-Fiction group for input on certain chapters or how to work certain elements I want to include, this won't be for a while though when things really get going (if it does).

--------------------------------------

Role Casting

Much like what many Fan-Fiction writers do, at some point I'm going to have a thread for character casting at some point where I will allow people to submit their ideas for characters for this, I won't be able to use them all of course but I intend to have a rather large and varied cast of characters, and may also include cameos for existing players. I may change names or even merge parts from certain character submissions that I like, whatever I do I will make sure to credit the person(s) who contributed to the character.

DO NOT POST YOUR IDEAS HERE. I'm not at that point yet, the next few Spiral Spy scenes I intend to do will essentially be a showcase of what I can do with character design (you'll be surprised) and may give people ideas for what a character could be like.

--------------------------------------

Need Some Opinions

This is one thing you can help me on right now:

1. Do Knights bleed? Should they?

I didn't put any sort of blood or gore into this because I don't know if it would be appropriate and I don't know if Knights bleed and if they do what color it would be. Do you think there should be blood-like effects and/or what should it look like? I won't go so far as having things like intestines (or the anatomical Spiral equivalent) spilling on the floor but I would like to know what you think about blood been spilled.

2. PG, PG-13, 14A? How vulgar should I get

Don't expect GTA like talk here, but what do you think of swearing, course, or suggestive language in this? How coarse should it get? Should I use things like %@# or just avoid even suggesting the use of words that could go there? What about suggestive talk or even suggestive scenes? I don't intend for anything like Spiral Knights XXX but romance is not out of the question.

3. Family relations

I guess this goes right to the issue of mechanic vs organic nature of knights. Do they have family relations like sibling, cousins, and parents? Are knights born or made? Is their such thing as Spiral children? The behavior of knights suggests an organic nature as they do feel emotions, pain, seem to need to eat and sleep, and are capable of forming bonds like comradery, friendship, possibly more. But their appearance at suggests at least a partial mechanical nature of sorts, although I would like to point out knights do have noses if you look carefully enough.

4. Ouchies for non-knights

Do you think I should show Gremlins and beasts bleed? It's a given that they do but would it appropriate to show? And if so to what degree? Full blown decapitations, a little splatter here and there, or none at all?

Sounds interesting

This sounds great, and I'd like to see the project roll into action. I'm working on a fairly lengthy illustrated SK story myself at the moment that was primarily intended to call a bit more attention to the Treasure Vault, so it would be wonderful to see more involved, long-term projects here. (I've noticed that many people lose interest in their own work fairly quickly).

I wish I could help with the Spiral Spy scenes, but I haven't figured out how to do scenery yet (not for lack of trying). If I do manage to finally figure it out or get some instructions, I'll have a go at it, and if you need story or character help in the future, I'd be happy to hop aboard.

--

You're going about this all wrong. You don't do projects like this for praise or a massive following. You do it for yourself, then post whatever to share the joy, no matter if it's one person or a thousand that like it. Else, what the hell you doing it for? It stops being fun and becomes work.

Another thing to keep in mind is that for *any* type of work, you tend to have a lot of people who never comment but watch you religiously. So lack of apparent readers is nothing to be disheartened about, since you can't see pageviews per thread on this forum.
_______________________

With that out of the way, you certainly do have talent working with SpiralSpy. Doing this certainly gives you a helluva lot more leeway in the story you can tell compared to my lazy-ass "grab screenies and try to tell stories using them" way. While your method is loads more difficult, the production quality will really show.

However, I expect you'll abandon this at some point like all authors of good things do. A shame. Here's hoping you'll at least release your notes if you do decide to abandon it.

EDIT: Oh crap, you threw in more stuff after I posted. Here's my opinions:
1) I think the suits are hermetically sealed, so if they are compromised the knight is screwed. Rather than blood, have suits leak hydraulics or oil to show they're in a critical state.

2) PG-13, I'd say. These are supposed to be militaristic knights, so I'd assume we could expect a little bit of language, least in a fan project. Keep language to heat of the moment things though, like some guy is having his face gnawed off. No need to have them do it casually though.

Do us a favor though and drop the romance if you're crowbaring it in. If it's organic, then by all means go ahead.

Answers to questions

Since it looks like you added some questions after my first post, let me answer them:

Yes, I think Knights should bleed. My husband and I are in disagreement *how* they should bleed, however- he sees Spiralians as bio-mechanical life forms and has always imagined them bleeding a phosphorescent blue/white. I'm on the fence over whether they're more biological or mechanical, and can't decide whether red or more of an amber color would make more sense (since a lot of fluid I see going through mechanical equipment is an amber). Then again, that clear reddish color that power steering fluid sometimes comes in feels about right to me, too. XD

As far as language and content, I wouldn't go above PG-13 on this, and it may be more tactful to keep it on the mature end of PG. There are younger users on the forums, it seems, and we wouldn't want to alienate them (or any parents who may be on with them). That said, mild curse words (maybe like "damn" or "hell" ... the sorts of things that you might occasionally hear in a Disney movie or a Saturday morning cartoon from the 80s) might be appropriate, and either supplemented with (or fully replaced by) the #@X%&!!! sort of affair for stronger language. I wouldn't say no to seeing romantic relationships, but I wouldn't recommend language or scenes getting *too* suggestive ... and really, this strikes me as something of a horror story, so as soon as I see romance I immediately expect one of the love interests to bite the dust.

So there's my two cents ... that being said, if you want to add some effects to your scenes that Spiral Spy just isn't up to creating, I'd be happy to do some post production work. While the SS interface is pretty unfamiliar to me, I've got a lot of experience with several graphics programs.

Well. This a huge undertaking Happyapathy. I certainly support this with my words if not Environment scenes as I don't know how to share them though you might want to reconsider if this will consume the greater part of your daily life.

I think I'll go with Guyinshinyarmour on your first question. Maybe also Energy and Heat pouring out too like In-game.
As for question two, I'm going with Tevokkia though I'd discourage excessive use of that kind of stuff. Personally, PG/PG-13 seems fine to me as I find those kinds of things and issues silly, annoying, and ridiculous, but, use your best judgement (people are always telling me that).

Good luck.

@GuyinshinyarmourI'm doing

@Guyinshinyarmour

I'm doing this for fun, yes, while there may be an element of ego here I think its okay for an artist to want some sort of praise for what they do whether if its for themselves or not. I also do want this to be something the community as a whole can get involved in, not just for myself, and I'm serious when I say I will be needing help to do this.

@Windsickle

Nothings going to be happening with this for a bit, at least not till the mission update happens, I don't intend to work on this 24/7 and getting pre-made scenes from people will really help speed things up.

@Rodrigoch

Nice scenes, I noticed you actually placed every single tile at the original scale, wow that must have taken a while :P, I'll have to see whether or not this will impact what I can put in though as it is an awful lot of models you used there to do that.

The issue with brightness can be removing the your global light model and replacing it with an ambient light model to darken everything slightly so it looks like what it does in game, place this as a model:

rsrc>world>environment>global_ambient.dat

Interesting

I'll definitely check up on this.

Since you asked for opinions I'll answer these.

1. Do Knights bleed? Should they?

Heat spill? xD Lol jks but having them bleed would be weird. I always see them as if they're made of steam or gas or something like that for some reason.

2. PG, PG-13, 14A? How vulgar should I get

I enjoy reading vulgar sentences sometimes. It makes things funnier. But I'll say PG-13 anyway. Heck, you can even come up with your own vulgar word for spiral knights. Why not anyway ;)

Hrm...

1) Do Knights Bleed? Should they?
I was thinking more sparks than blood. Similar to Zelvest, Heat Spill. Actual red blood gushing all over the place doesn't seem right.

2) Language
In moderation. It's unrealistic for mature people/knights to shout "WHAT THE FRAG!" when their leg gets bitten off. Yet when the F-bomb is dropped every other paragraph, then it just gets irritating. Likewise with sexual themes.

I also would like to add in something else:
Please make your characters... well... characters. Almost all fan fiction... well... all stories in general (even in mainstream stories) that involve this sort of squad based military type action descend into the incredibly predictable stereotypical space marine. I have seen this in tons of video games like Gears of War and Halo. It irritates me horribly and I would probably loose interest in the story within minutes

On an unrelated note... I'm 98% sure that you have met my main account, Anakletos...
If that previous statement is true, then where is the Gunslinger :P

1) Do Knights Bleed? Should they?
I've always viewed Knights as mechanic life forms. As such, they could "bleed" internal fluids (oil, lubricants, etc), but not blood IMO. The aforementioned idea of heat/energy spill sounds workable too, albeit less lethal.

1) Language?
Cussing generally detracts from the quality of dialogue. For extreme scenarios or certain character profiles, some vulgarity is inevitable, but try to avoid generic swearing. F-bombs are often dull and uninspiring, and few people enjoy reading a mess of symbols.
Romantic subplots can be engaging story assets. Provided they don't become, as you put it, "Spiral Knights XXX", they should be fine.

Maybe like insects, they have

Maybe like insects, they have a greenish fluid that acts like blood and a skelleton. And in R&C, some enemies have a yellow like flud(they would faze away, 1 had exploding enermies, even organic...).

How about neon blue as Isis said. In the rev message, they have a blueish heart connected by glowing veins and arteries. Maybe they have blue flesh like we have pink flesh+ they have a shade of blue for the veins/arteries and white bones.

Here are some of my thoughts:

Should Knights Bleed?

Highly depends on what you are trying to get out of this, while fluids such as oils or lubricants can work if you want to portray the knights as being machines, having blood in there adds an element where it actually feels like they are living beings, instead of machines.

Language?

Others have said it, it largely depends on how extreme the situation is, I can see the occasional swear appearing here and there, but a large series of swears most likely will not be enjoyable to read.

Now as for what I can contribute, Scenes take a bit too much of my time to be able to contribute those, I am afraid. However, I will be able to provide files of weapons or armor sets that I have changed in the form of their look if you wish to have some more weapons at your disposal, this also includes things that I have made from scratch that are completely original in terms of their design.

Here is a video that contains a good sum of these changes, including a download link should you be interested in them.

Do Knights bleed? Should they?

Personally, I always thought them to be carbon-based lifeforms with some bio-mechanical parts (like cyborgs!), so I think they do, but I don't know if they should taking into account the age of the majority of the userbase here.

PG, PG-13, 14A? How vulgar should I get?

Up to you, personally. If you can write at all--and it seems like you can--then you should just go with what seems natural.

Re: your questions,
If you must make knights bleed, I think you can do so humorously with oil, or battery juice. It's ultimately your call since I don't know what the plot needs. Also your style of writing not only fits the story perfectly but adds a "sarge and his FNGs" kind of charm that sets it apart from all the fanfiction trying to substitute in tough-guy words for effective banter. I'd say keep it clean but at the same time, having less profanities means that if you chose to use some with the right timing, it could be gold.

Language.

Should they bleed?
-Not blood. I don't think that fits the SK theme. But as was aforementioned, "bleed" heat? And maybe have cracks in their armor, etc, to show their damage? Something like that...

Language?
-I don't think you should use any real-world cursing, that would be a bit much i think. Using the SK censoring would be great IMO, like #$%@#$, etc, or even coming up with Spiral-related cursing, like "That son-of-a-griever!" or "Ah, blaze peppers..." something along those lines, y'know?

awesome job dude. Opinions edited in :D

awesome job dude.
I'll edit answer some of the questions you asked when its not 2 AM ><
Here they are :D

1: Should Knights bleed?
In moderation, yes. Granted gushing blood everywhere would look strange, but no blood/effect looks odd to me as well. I saw someone suggest heat/sparks, which could look good if implemented correctly. If I may, I'd like to suggest like kind of a "trail" of blood when slashed, or something along those lines.

2:How vulgar?
Just like blood, it should be in moderation. If you go around dropping f-bombs every other panel people will close out. Although, if there is a point in the story were swearing a lot would fit, you could always do what OOO did and sensor them. Could go either way really, but if it's just an every now and then thing I wouldn't be too worried about it.

3: Family Relationships
I always see people talk about how knights are more mechanical then biological. However, you have to think, they are controlled by humans and we develop friendships in game (heck, knights have a friends list). I'd say go ahead with human like relationships, could make some plot points easier to create as well.

----------------------------------

Need Some Opinions

This is one thing you can help me on right now:

1. Do Knights bleed? Should they?
I will motion to say yes... They are tech knights, but there is enough evidence to me to show they're at least something or partially organic underneath all of this. And they blink. You need real eyes to need to blink XD I can drudge up other examples, but there should be enough plausibility to believe they're organic. Knights need sleep and stuff too, and can die, or be nearly dying (like in the core) and experience their environment too.

2. PG, PG-13, 14A? How vulgar should I get

I would keep cursing to a minimum, using @#$&&@@#$$ as needed. A few poignant uses of non-censored cursing should also be used, but only when strictly necessary, possibly for worf-like moments (refer to worf effect in tvtropes if you need). I'd keep that to only REALLY important scenes though.

3. Family relations

I'll stick to my answer for #1 on this.

Family Relations

I always rather assumed they had family relations ... they certainly do in my work (I have a pair of sibling characters). Even if they are biomechanical, the "bio" part has to come from somewhere, and I don't see Spiralians being made in labs or factories. Should you decide to go fully robotic with them, I would still think they would have small groups and/or individuals they considered family ... maybe the group that made them, the other Knights they were made with, or whatever.

Of course, this goes for any of the non-construct creatures that live on Cradle, too. Most of them are intelligent to a point, so I'm sure they have a well-defined familial and social structure as well: we just haven't seen it.

Equips:Wild Hunting blade,Acheron,and a Sentenza

Personality:Mysterious, kind of evil although does enjoy himself quite a bit and has a love of snipes.

Bio: A gremlin who became a Assassin after his family was slaughtered by the spiral order when they went out to the devilish drudgery one day to buy some new clothes only reason he survived because he was a mischievous 4 year only gremlin who thought it would be hilarious to hide in a mail box where the knights didn't find him. as he saw them be beaten up by the spiral order he started to cry as they left a devilite found him and trained him so that he could move quick and as he grew up at the age of seven he was hiding waiting for a member of the spiral order to come by and he found one as he came up to attack she noticed him and thought he was kinda cute!.they talked and had lots of fun and she introduced him to snipes.as they grew up at the age of eleven she went adventuring in the clockworks with him where a gun puppy shot her down. She landed with a slam as she hit the ground he rushed up to her to try and do every thing he could to save her when a lumber whacked him into a tree away from her and when a wolver popped up about to grab her when he shouted "NO!" run towards the wolver a hit it in the head with his thwack hammer. He got her up and carried her to safety through all the pain it caused him. After another year she asked her dad to adopt him which he did as a birthday present for her. They trained together and after weeks of hard work she gave him a wild hunting blade as a gift he treasures the blade as if it was his life. They together slowly got much strong and he made him self an Acheron to help her defeat Jelly King. After they Got enough Jelly gems he bought an antigua and she bought a sealed sword. One day he had left it was the day before her birthday and she was in so much distress. The next day there was a knock at the door and he had returned and with him he carried a Darkfang shield say "only the most honourable gremlins get to wield this shield in combat and i think your more honourable than any of them" she hugged him so tight it started to get hard to breathe and she hadn't let go yet so he had to mumble until she figured out what he had been saying. She went out to the store that day to get herself some new clothes that her dad had said he'd buy her for her birthday and she'd seen a white fur cloak that was very beautiful so she asked her dad "can i get that?" as she pointed to it her dad said "ah a skolver coat one of the most valuable kinds of fur, sure i'll get that for you" and so they buy it after a few months she made herself a divine avenger and Spyash made his Sentenza. 2 days after she got a ceremony for gaining clearance into tier 3. One day as they're adventuring Spyash tripped and hit the ground really hard she laughed at him and then helped him up (secretly he really likes her laugh) but as he got up he notice a path behind a wall he followed it and when down into a room with her it was pitch black they knew something was wrong she pulled out her divine avenger which lit up the room. "Oh wow....." she said "i never thought i'd be the one to discover him""discover who?" said Spyash "King Tinkinzar" she said he responded "and that is.........." "Spyash he's king of the gremlins" "well that explains the gremlins around him" "their the Crimson Order" she said "haha a smart one she is" said king Tinkinzar "Spyash" she wispered "ya" he wispered back "we can take him"she said "are you sure we can take him and the Crimson Order?" spyash responded "yes we can this is what we've been training for" she said "ok" he said "if you insist". She said to King Tinkinzar "your on and when we win we'll go down in histroy you guys will be done Knights from the spiral order will come at you day and night" he responded "Ha! Vanaduke is going to love you" "ok get them and take the girl get rid of the gremlin with her. A hand came up and grabed her "GET OFF ME!" she shouted she swung her Divine avenger at a gremlin just to have taken away "NO!" spyash shouted as they were pulled away from each other "i'll find you and get you back i promise you" and spyash's vision goes black. He woke up in bed at home nothing taken, he was glad about that he still had the wild hunting blade she gave him and the matching Darkfang shield that he carved thier initials into.He went around town posting up signs saying he'd pay to buy the best skolver at tracking he could. Always looking in the clockworks for one to find for free, And on that day he swore to himself he would do anything to get her back even if it killed him.

thats my character if you want to include him i'd love to help thanks!

Epic

This is so awesome I don't even.

1. Knights bleed heat. If you cut their arm off, heat will come gushing out till they're faceup on the floor, unless you staunch the flow with a cautery sword/ syptic from fiend healers.

2. PG 13 - You've still got a lot to work with here, and it forces creativity as opposed to "fuckfuckfuck /ded" "...I would rather try... climbing a greased pole... using _only_ my nipples... than doing that." -Penguinz0

Your grammar and dialogue is a little stilted, tbh.

3. Knights are basically non-organic. They are sentient machines/andrioids that can feel fear, friendship, ect. Death is probably permanent in your world.

Keep up the support

I like the response I'm getting here, but I still haven't seen too many pre-made scenes submitted for me to work with, the sooner that happens the sooner I can actually start making the next chapter.

@Spyash

1. /fail for not reading what I said about role casting at the moment :P

2. TL;DR, the giant wall of text actually put me off reading what you had there, which probably doesn't help your character's chances of been put in, re-submit sometime in the future with more facts and less story, even point form may work better

3. While I do intend to have non-Knight characters playing significant roles, there aren't many of them and those that I have thought of are pretty much set in stone in the plot, it is very unlikely I will include suggestions for characters other then knights

With that said...

I may start role casting sooner then I planned to, once again dependent on how much help I can get with the scenes, as I don't think the eventual mission system update will have too much of an impact at least early on in the story so I may be able to start making the first early parts before the update comes out.

Spiral Spy is confuzing

As soon as I can figure Spiral Spy out I will devot time and effort into helping you with this. But for now I don't even know how to make a second model (if anyone wants to tell me it would be nice). Anyways, can't wait until it starts up and I can put in a character! :D
Also...
3. I think that knights are mostly organic. Its much nicer to think of them as living beings, instead of robots bowing to our every whim. At least it's much easier to write a Fanfiction about them that way.

I would do scenes, but ...

Just as Isisdelltion said, if there were a guide on how to use the program, I'd be happy to set up some scenes, but I haven't seen one yet (if there is one out there, a link would be great). The interface is really unfamiliar to me, though, and I can't figure out how to set down environments. Honestly, even with experimenting, I can't even figure out which menu I should be in.

Well ...

Well, there don't seem to be very many other people who are that familiar with it. Even if you don't want to do a guide, a simple "Go to X menu, put things from Y folder set into Z category, and play with the coordinates" would be a help.

Have you tried the Spiral-Spy

Have you tried the Spiral-Spy Scenes Thread, Isisdelltion and Tevokkia? Similar questions have been answered in that Thread as well as more. I suggest you look and ask questions there first.

Thanks

Okay, but I'm still hinting for Happyathy to make a guide, because he probably has all kinds of useful tips and stuff.

I am totally in support of this!!!

This is really awesome that someone is willing to put in the time to do this, and awesome too that everyone on the forums seems interested!

On the whole biological/mechanical thing:
I always thought of the knights being almost fully mechanical, but advanced to such a point that they act biological, with fully aware AI's capable of sentient thought. Thus they would have no reason to actually bleed, but the heat thing makes sense to me!

So really they are 100% robots but they are just as human as a person would be.

Also, the whole 1st person thing is cool, I really liked that, and the HUD differences were kind of nice. I think its a great start, and in time might hopefully even get support from OOO themselves!

something of a guide here...

Okay here's what you need to know to setup things like walls and floors at its most basic:

Going to tell you how to make a quick Clockworks scene

------The simple wall

1. In the main window go Edit>Preferences

2. Click "New Environment Model"

3. Under Model, click the "None" button next to Config

4. Find your way to this:

rsrc>world>tileset>clockworks>wall>wall.dat

A section of clockwork wall should appear on your screen at these coordinates:

Translation
X: 0.00
Y: 0.00
Z: 0.00

Rotation
X: 0.00
Y: 0.00
Z: 0.00

5. Change the X translation to 4.00 to move it away from the origin

6. Create another new environment model, set the config for this one to wall.dat as well, the directory should automatically open to where it is this time so you won't have to go searching for it again.

7. Change the model of this wall to "wall_front_x3_01"

This will create a larger wall piece that, as the name says, is 3 tiles long, using these (and the x2 wall pieces) you can reduce the amount of time it takes to create a scene but repeatedly using them over again can become quite obvious to viewers so sprinkle in some varying single pieces to break it up.

8. Change the X translation to 5.00, this should line it up with your first piece

9. Use the same process to create a third wall piece, set it to "wall_x2_iron_01" and move it to X: 8.00

10. Rotate your view to the backside of the wall you've made, notice how the models do appear from this angle as you would not be able to view this area in game, be aware of this as many models have incomplete textures that don't cover certain areas.

------Cornering in and out

The wall you have doesn't look complete as it ends abruptly on either end of it, to fix this were gonna corner each end with two different kinds of corners:

1. Create a new wall model, set it to "wall_corner_out_01"

This one is going to go on the left end of the wall, but as it is it won't fit if you try to move it there now.

2. Set its Z Rotation to -90 degrees

You will find a lot of things need to be turned to some variation of 90 or 180 degrees to fit into place.

Note how doing this shifts the Y Translation of the model piece, you will have to account for this when you move it into place.

3. Change its Translation to:

X: 3.00
Y: 1.00
Z: 0.00

This should put it at the left corner of your wall

4. Create another wall section and set it to "wall_front_x3_02"

5. Rotate this piece by Z: -90 degrees also

6. Change its translation to:

X: 3.00
Y: 4.00
Z: 0.00

Your wall should now have a corner on its left end.

7. Create a another wall section and set it to "wall_corner_in_NE_01"

8. Set its translation to:

X: 10.00
Y: 0.00
Z: 0.00

This should place it on the right end of your wall

9. Going to everything at once here, create another wall piece and set it to this:

wall_front_x2_01

Translation:

X: 10.00
Y: 0.00
Z: 0.00

Rotation:

X: 0
Y: 0
Z: -90

This is how walls are basically made regardless of what tile set you use, you can continue to practice walls by adding on to what you have here.

To save your scene, on the main screen go File>Environment>Save, the file you create will be the one you can upload for me to use.

Make note that not all model tile sets are set out as nicely as the Clockwork ones and may be disorganized or bunched together with floor and edge models and not in separate folders, a good example would be the haven tile sets where many of the models are actually found mixed together as options under a single model file (try making a Haven scene and you'll see what I mean).

--------------------

That's enough of a guide for now, one can probably figure those out from this tutorial here and by going over the sample files I posted in the OP. I'll get around to props maybe, though that's less of an issue that I can work with after the basic structure of a scene is made.

--------------------

As I said earlier the sooner these start coming in the sooner I can get going on the next part :D
