I'll be honest, if you've invested $9000, you would have wasted a lot by quitting. This is only a small update. There are many, many more big ones to come, so with a little patience, they will arrive. It's been over a year! The core's not open! It's not that hard to add guild boards, whatever! Unless you are working for SK yourself, one cannot say that (not specifically to you Coco, just in general), and the Dev's are definitely working on bigger stuff, just haven't released it yet. So please. Don't waste all your time and effort like that, just have some patience.

I am not mad or upset how you've played SK. But why are you mad at this patch? Same to Rommil and Pawn, or anyone else quitting due to the locked UVs. Do you feel slighted that you spent a lot of crowns (and money) on rolling for UVs, only to have that option be a bit cheaper now (and it's not like poor players have a chance)? You spent your money, you got what you wanted, and you had it first.

Is it misguided to say that NOW the game is somehow Pay2win, when before, it was P2W for only the richest players? Face that truth. The game used to benefit the extremely rich the most. Now it's more affordable for rich players, and not middle class, and not poor or most F2P players. What I'm seeing here is that you are upset that OOO has made you less unique. You used to be one of a handful of people with 2 or 3 max UVs. Now you're going to be less special? It'll be hundreds instead of maybe a dozen or two?

What does that mean? Do you think there was a plan to take your money, then change things once you paid? Also, this is not a bait & switch. Game mechanics and methods to acquire change a lot in online games. From a selfish standpoint, I can see being upset, but that's the same as someone paying $60 for a game at launch, then being upset the game is on sale for $20 after a month. Not just upset, but upset at the devs/publisher for being scam artists somehow.

Don't think that I'm some OOO apologist. I am extremely critical of how they've released content for this game, since playing at launch. People around here don't know me well. I keep quiet except for some crits now and then, but I've been here since launch (not preview night). I have seen a lot of ragequitting from people even more upset than you seem (if you think that's possible). Is THIS the patch that broke the camel's back? Now?

So making something cheaper doesn't make it more affordable? Rich players will keep spending a lot regardless of what content comes out. As Cocosnake has pointed out, (and others in this thread) there are some players that will just pour cash into this game regardless. However, for those who are more conservative with their money, this UV update is more lenient. It allows players to upgrade their UVs without needing to spend a fortune on OOO.

How is making something cheaper, a Scham? The bar of getting uber gear has been LOWERED. Middle class can do whatever the heck they want. If a middle class starts spending more money because they feel like it, they aren't middle classed now are they?

So this is more an issue of conflicting player preferences, rather than the actual update itself.

People I see frequently in lockdown (and myself included) who have posted in that thread so far all see this patch as not really affecting real, in-game Lockdown that much.

I think you're just mad you're not going to be one of the 'Elite 1%' in a week of this patch.

That said, OOO's pretty much been scamming everybody every other week by coaxing you into buying CE, the world's most redundant currency, with promos.
All you can do with it is sell it for crowns.
Or open boxes, which is an even bigger scam.
Or do Shadow Lairs, the biggest scam of them all.

Thats interesting. You didn't quit before, but now this makes you quit? I'm rather surprised at this; its one of the lesser evils that I've seen the devs pull, only a handful of people were hurt (those with tripple max UVs), and even then, its not that big of a difference in chance, and in general helps you goofy TRIPLE MAXIMUM GAME-BREAKING UV people who are too extreme for 'modest looking medium uv's that aren't 100% perfect.

The fact that all existing knights have to buy talls/short/accessories/whatever rather than just getting it was predicted as well... and there have been far greater injustices done before that as well. This patch was not all that bad IMO, it was still a money grab, but not nearly as big of one. Anyways, kudos to you for leaving, your money. Can't say I don't blame you :P

@cocosnake ok I was a little hard to you, but in each update, players say they ragequit for nothing (and then they keep playing And that is what I'm annoyance) and this update wasn´t so bad, the UV system with punch and vise ever look like they need a lot of improvement, I was waiting this update for months.
Also you look like you are mad because you lose exclusiveness, make a better explanation of why the update is bad, as I see the people in this thread complain at you because you are mad and not giving any considerable explanation instead you are just saying you are rich and wanted to be good only for that.
In a future OOO gonna add better stuff like move a UV from a object to other, or make the shadow keys cost a lot less CE, things like that. that kind off stuff change the game but all is for better (instead of these every update emo reactions). the prices in de AH of articles with UVs gonna be less each time and if you spend your money in a smart way you can do ever more money in game than only paying for it with real money.
dont forgeth this game is still in some kind of beta state untill we see what happend next, if you wanna go and spend money in a beta go ahead but keep in mind the game gonna change and it may not like you in the future.

@Exileddread this game is great and have a lot of potential and that is why it don´t die so fast, at the beggining was a indie game and indies take a lot of time to do stuff the core was at years of be opened but then it turn in a sega game and now all is changing transparently, that means the potential of the game is unpredictable now, behind of it people see all the things (updates) as bad things without even see the good stuff on the updates, but the game is moving more than before, you said "Honestly this has got to be one of the only MMOs I've seen that didn't change in a year." it changed a lot but all the players can reach the end game fast and then nothing happens, but that doesnt mean the game is not evolving in one year a lot of stuff was added, the shadow lair was and is one of the worst implemented things in the game it should be t4 instead of something that takes a lot of effort to free players to get in (and the sad fact that it could be a better tier before to let the players reach the core instead of let them get then endgame easy and find nothing exept the repetitive same two things after they reach the endgame (come on OOO vana is easy and boring give some variety to t3))
but there are tons of awfull f2p games with extorsive mechanics, s4 league was a good f2p tps, and then one day, they did all the weapons permanent became temporary and the weapons needed to be repaired, no one can effort in obtain something good and permanent the game make the players play a lot or quit and then they do something worse, apalaya (the company) started to give a lot of OP advantages to player for money (all was temporal advantages, no one can get anything permanent) the game turn in a extremely pay2play and what happened? tons of people leave the game and the ones playing or pay to be OP for a short period of time or die in the hand of the hackers because all the f2p remaining started to hack and you can find at least one or two hackers in each round. and that made the game to be horrible

So, let's say you buy a new computer, you spend $9000 on it, because you want top of the line, and you can afford it. Then, later, you discover that the price has gone down significantly. Other people can now get the same computer at a much lower price. Is it natural to be upset that you could have waited and spent far less on the computer? Of course. However, that doesn't mean you should just lock the computer up in storage and never use it again. That's just silly.

To drop the analogy... Let's assume your $9000 figure is accurate (there's no reason to think it is or isn't). You spend $9000 decking out your character in a game you play for fun. It's your money, sure, whatever, if that's what you want to do with it, then by all means. But quitting just because other people can now get what you have without having to spend a ridiculous amount? That's childish. I can understand not wanting to spend money again, I mean, such abrupt changes in the market can make one nervous, make it feel like a gamble. But in this case, what you are essentially saying is that "If I can't be better than you because I'm rich, then I'm not gonna play at all!" It's that ridiculous "I have more money so I'm better than you" attitude. Real classy. Play the game for fun, not to flaunt your wealth.

i started playing this in February and my guildmates tell me about how it was back when it was just OOO and not sega, while i wholeheartedly blame sega AND OOO for making these useless trinkets and trivial updates (really a puppy thingy for 150k crowns? REALLY?) i'm still enjoying the game as it is, maybe because i haven't done everything I'm supposed to in it, maybe because I'm just playing this with a few friends but i still enjoy it, so far i've spent literally 5$ on this game (I was naive and wanted ce and wasted it, meh.) and don't intend to spend more on it on the basis of it being a free game, i think these 2 companies could learn a bit of a lesson from battlenet and various other online games, a few well placed well done ads in levels (imagine in segas case putting a archaic fantasy star online ad in an arena or something where it doesn't ruin the landscape) if they could do something along those lines or simply having a damn banner ad on top of the missions tab that isn't TOO big, i think that OOO and sega would generate PLENTY enough revenue to create quality content... my only question is, do they want to?

Probably not, which would make my entire post useless.

if d3 runs smoothly on my pc, i'll prolly dip aswell, with half of the people i know on SK joining me, oh well.
