I have a couple of very important questions regarding entries, though. What happens if I create a Spiral-Spy entry that's based on existing conventional artwork? I can't say I'm very gifted in terms of creating original pieces, but I seem to have an affinity for converting concept art into models viewable in Spiral-Spy. For example, the Petrode Protector, whose original concept was made by Alphastevo.
Would something like that still be considered an acceptable entry or do I actually need to come up with the concept as well?
EDIT: Furthermore, if the artistic concept has already been posted, will a model based on that concept still qualify?

Essentially how that would work is that you would have to get someone to collaborate with you; they would have to come up with a new concept for the contest, which you could create in SpiralSpy and post as a collaborative effort. Rules for collaboration are in the FAQ post.
I say this because if you used someone else's concept and won, they would, by all rights, be entitled to part of the prize, as concept is one of the judging criteria. If you collaborated, it would be up to you to decide how that prize was split, depending on how much weight you guys decided the concept vs. execution carried.
Also, because half of the reason for this contest is to generate a bunch of new fan content.

I'll see if I can get in contact with that person for a possible collaboration, but I'll probably just end up trying something myself. We'll see.

So here's my caption for the mini contest of this week. For my entry the gremlin sitting on the left is named Hadi and the one on the right Grewe.

(on another note, when I first looked at it I actually thought it was a goldfish, but the consensus seems to be snipe)

Yup, prizes, and lots more than just 1st, 2nd, etc.
The list of categories you can enter in is in post 2, along with how many prizes and at what level they're available at in each category. The lists of prizes themselves are after the example entry form in the third post.
And yes, chibi knights chasing gremlins is okay (although if you actually meant Germans, that picture would be a bit confusing), we can put it in either knight or gremlin category, depending on who there are more of or whatever.

The one in the game files are grainy and I need one with a yellow background, like the one you find on their clothes and stuff.

At least its not grainy, but if you want a yellow background you could go into paint and just use the paint bucket to make it the way you want.

I was wondering if the words from the "unscramble the word puzzle" puzzle were ALL Spiral Related. So lets say you "unscrambled" a word in the puzzle but it turned out to be Giraffe. Would that be incorrect. How about something like digust?
They're all Spiral Knights related, Papaya. (I actually hit "random page" on the wiki until I had the words I needed. XD)
