There's an overwhelming amount of negativity to this change. Yet it still is going to happen. I really can't understand why OOO wouldn't leave the crystal bombs alone and just make the new lines with the new bombs. This is the ultimate bait-and-switch. These aren't the bombs that we rolled our Undead and CTR UVs on. These aren't the bombs that we put so much love into.
Instead of messing up the crystal bombs, don't you have more pressing issues to take care of? /e looks at Polaris, Blitz Needle, Iron Slug, Callahan, and Flourish.

Exactly Lizzi.. one of my close friends rolled until she had Undead High on her RSS and now its going to be all worthless because of this change. I highly doubt the 3 UV ticket will make up for it and the fact that she would have to once again craft a new bomb for undead enemies and roll UVs on that too.
Make it 2000CE and 500k for every RSS and I might agree then.
I made RSS because it was a great bomb for undeads. Now my RSS will be turned into some pierce thingy that will probably still be overshadowed by my DBB.
Recalling what Nick said about the rationale behind this change: "The current shard-style bombs are functionally, not very bomb-like... guns fire bullets, bombs create areas of damage, and swords do a mix of the two." (So why not make every sword shooting swords? The Sealed Sword line kind of does that.) An equally legitimate (and safer solution) would be to implement Nick's idea into a new line of bomb first, see how the reception is, then decide if the new change should be rolled into RSS.
AFAIK, we never received a clear message from Nick on why we couldn't implement the alternate solution.
Anyways, when can we have a review of the new shard bombs? I want to know if I should spend money on SK or Guild Wars 2.
Welp I'm weeping. I waited and chatted around to get a consensus on the ticket limit, and now I was only able to craft one with Beast High. And bought another recipe for nothing. Guess it was my fault though for waiting and asking around with several things popping in my head like are they selling quick at the AH, or should I craft 3*, etc.
The abuse is too obvious to be true.....

YOU WILL HAVE A RIGHT TO COMPLAIN (in my opinion as a humble consumer).
People will have every right in the world to complain if they don't get 1 ticket per bomb crafted. The wording was ambiguous. What's more, it became INSTANTLY clear that players were throwing all their wealth/ce at ragecrafting. It was even asked multiple times in this thread (which has had GM interaction since the question was posed). No GM stepped in and clarified. Therefore it would be a great breach of business ethics (in my opinion) if they knowingly let everyone throw their money/ce away and did not clarify, when clarification was asked for. I understand the counter-point on a very intuitive level. BUT!!!!!! This game is a SERVICE to people who pay for it. If you are in a 'service' industry you cannot take a big dump on your customers. And again!!! What's more is, it would be a breach of business ethics (in my opinion). Almost the worst thing a company in any industry can do is be blatantly unethical in disservice to its customers.
I'm more annoyed how our undead killing bombers are going to be turned into pure pierce forcing us to craft a new bomb so we can have an elemental bomb making people pay another 2000ce and w/e crowns they spend doing UV rolls if they don't get the UV they want. The 3 UV ticket I will get for my RSS is hardly worth it. Making RSS the elemental bomb.. especially when it is called Radiant Sun Shards would of been the more logical thing.. but at the same time Three Rings wanted more money so if you are thinking about money making RSS the pure pierce bomb would of been best.
Either way.. its nothing more than a bait and switch with a gift that still doesn't make up what we have spent on our RSS bombs.
Imagine skyrocketing CE price. If people will hoard on UV tickets they wont have to spend CR on them, more CR to buy CE! And thats what OOO loves, the bigger CE price, the more people will swipe their credit card to get some CE.

Holy molys, you announced this before it went live? OOO, I thought you were smarter than that.
There was one DPS elemental bomb and now it's been turned into pierce. Well, that's a pain for all bombers, since we have to buy a new bomb and roll on it to replace its use. Did anyone actually use RSS for Devilites before this patch? Mine was 99% for undead.
I guess I'll hope that I roll another Constructs VH on my new bomb, since that's pretty much useless on my RSS. Thanks OOO. /s
Wow this new bomb SUCKS. 1/4 of the dmg of the old RSS (I know its pure pierce but still). I want my CE and all my crowns I spend on my RSS back.. or my old RSS back. This bomb is fail.
Man, this bomb isnt worth it to me.
The download time for the update is kinda weird....as it downloads,the download time kept increasing and only 16% was done...was/is anybody else have the same problem? I mean usually this doesn't happen
The only people that could of said this new bomb was good were the people trying to make RSS fail. This pure pierce piece of junk can't do anything right and is extremely overshadowed by DBB. I can only imagine how pissed my pure bomber friend well be when she gets back home.. assuming she doesn't quit this game because of this.

This "update" is nothing more than a money stunt.
I have spent good CE, Heat, Time(money), and Money on developing my RSS.
I bought the bomb because of it's elemental damage.
It has been in my inventory for more than a year.
I am not even sure how to calculate all CE that was spent.
A 3UV ticket does nothing for me.
It does not give me an Elemental bomb that works.
It does not give me a bomb that is crafted, UV'd, and heated.
Not one comment in favor of the change on the Testing Feedback Forum.
Need a real answer from OOO....

Guy above me is right. This is even more absurd than the Shadow Lairs patch. I can't see how anyone in Three Rings thought this was a good bomb.
Wtf my update first reached 50% then it said: 200 minutes remaining, so i started it again. Now its got to 17% and just keeps on increasing in size. What the hell is going on? I want to play SK!
Its the fail update server, its the only thing more fail than the new shard bombs. Thought I somehow got done updating in 3 mins.. must of beat the rush.

Is there any update for the Magnus Line/Iron Slug change? It was posted to get a change quite some time ago, quite a bit before the Crystal Bomb update (by about four months), here. There is also a post here that said there was some issues, but no details. All the other weapon changes have received their own threads, stating what is changing, but nothing for the Magnus update except for a couple of non-descriptive posts from Nick. It's slightly annoying to wait almost half a year for an update to a weapon line.
As a response to the update and a RSS user, while the ticket compensation isn't too bad, I think it would have been nice for those who own bombs already to be given some kind of option to choose one of the new style bombs to transition to instead. For RSS, I'm not sure if I want the fiend bonus, maybe I want to have the all elemental bonus, or pierce bonus bombs instead, and have the UVs that I have transfer over. Might make the transition a bit nicer for those who are already far along the upgrade path.

Woot! Free variant Ticket along with my elemental bomb. I bought a Crystal Bomb with CTR Med a few days ago and now I get to craft it into the elemental bomb I was missing (I have a Dark Brair Barrage and a Dark Retribution).

Oh you're just happy cause you're getting al ot of UV tickets. So am I the only one in here that thinks that getting a UV ticket literally for each bomb you have in your inventory is crazy as all hell? You pretty much have the best chance to get what you want now while those that made mistakes and those that had to work have to buy from you. Why do we help out a system that makes us lose out with this ambiguous or ridiculous offers.

Hmm, I got a promised 3 uv ticket, but I don't think you can sell it. It might be possible to mail it but that requires trust I guess.
Also RSS now stuns, that wasn't in the notes unless I overlooked it. I'm not sure how I feel about the new bomb change..
if you are talking about me, I will only receive one 1-variant ticket. That is all. I don't care about the market too much, nor do I care about the impending influx of UVs that will tank the UV market. I have most of the weapons I want and a big enough pile of CE to keep me happy.
EDIT: I do think it is rediculous that people were able to buy up bombs for tons of free UV tickets (on the AH a cyrstal bomb was probably in the 1.5kcr range and they gave out tickets worth 10x that amount).
The Tickets aren't bound which was stated in another tread. You can sell them. I still have not got my 3 UV ticket either.. but I played with the new bomb and instantly decided I hated its new features. Old RSS was 100x better.
SHARDS SHOULDN'T DISAPPEAR AT ALL. EVEN RAWRCAKE AGREED WITH THAT.
The new Shard Bomb mechanic is terrible for fiends. Maybe it'll work for Zombies. It might even hit Kats. But Devilites will dodge it and Greavers will ignore it. This is the stupidest update I've ever seen. What were you thinking, Nick? What were you thinking?
And, what's that I hear? There's a bug where they disappear on Control Points. Gee, thanks, that was such a smart move, Nick... (I am, of course, being sarcastic. It's a terrible move.)
Now, Nick, I know you're scared of bombs being as powerful as they were when they had standard attacks. But the fact is, all any bomb has is a crappy charge attack that can't hold a candle to a Sword's or Gun's charge. The Divine Avenger, Barbarous Thorn Blade, and Acheron charges are all outclassing bombs. Even Sudaruska's charge is effective while it still has a normal attack to push away foes.
Furthermore, these do NOTHING to Greavers. NOTHING IN OUR ARSENAL will possibly hit Greavers. You've successfully made it impossible for an entire weapon type to be usable by anyone that isn't super pro against one-sixth of the entire game's enemies. I hope you're happy.
And the worst part? You listened to us on the Test Server when we asked for a Heat booster on said server... and then ignored the rest of our feedback, which was an obvious outcry for better Shard bombs. That was plain stupid. Nick, please give us back our old Radiant Sun Shards.
If you're too much of a thickheaded bomb-hater to do that, at least do the following:
-Have Shards interrupt Greavers as they fly out! They can cause all of 1 damage, pushing enemies back as they go, until they land. If you think that's overpowered, then you clearly had someone else design the Blitz Needle and Divine Avenger. They should also break blocks, minerals, etc.
-As a consequence of this, SHARDS MUST NOT DISAPPEAR. When a Shard hits a wall, it should keep any velocity it has parallel to the wall. Disappearing shards causes a stupidly annoying glitch in Lockdown, and even disappearing shards won't multihit a Trojan enough to make the RSS any better against them than, oh, THE BLITZ NEEDLE. OR THE MAGMA DRIVER.
EDIT: And to anyone who's going to say, "Oh, you're just whining 'cause you can't fight Devilites!" Well, y'see, I could. I still can. But have you tried killing them with only a Charge Attack? And then there's Greavers. Nothing- literally NOTHING, except perhaps Voltaic Tempest, and that takes a while and requires you to virtually stand still- that a bomber has can bring down a group of four or more.
