Diablo

I let out a roar of defiance as my enemies descended. One of them started to ride me like a rodeo [IMBECILE!] while another unleashed a flurry of strikes against my hide. All the while, Kirito reclaimed more and more of the energy i stole and released it back to the Core. I let out an earsplitting shriek, and my foes held their heads, trying to block out the noise. This was my chance.

I stomped my foot angrily and smashed through the icy prison i had been encased in, then whipped my tail at them, sending some of the Isorans flying. I glared at the Valkyries, my sinuous muscles glistening with water. I roared again and pummelled the ground with my gargantuan claws, making bits of stone fly everywhere. I felt a freezing sensation and looked to see my leg encased in ice once more. I growled in distaste and was about to smash the ice when a blast of elemental energy struck me across the face. The Uranus Queen. My claws lashed out and narrowly missed severing her neck from her body. The Queen ducked under my stomach and drew a line across my belly with her blade, drawing vast amounts of blood. A plume of fire singed my face, and I felt bombs explode on the ground around me, sending dirt into my eyes. I roared, "ENOUGH!" And sent a wave of black energy throughout the battlefield, draining everything around me of life. Takiza and the Council bit their lips, desperately trying to fight my power. Pathetic. I sent another wave of energy outwards, cackling in sadistic glee.

When the ashes cleared, it was all but finished. Most of the enemies were nursing wounds, and some of them were passed out completely. I glanced at my hands, which were now back to normal. I had spent so much power that I had reverted back to my normal form. I was not nearly as strong as i was before, but with my enemies incapacitated, that did not matter. I smirked and watched curiously as the Uranus Queen rushed to the side of one Isoran ((Trivoc)), trying to stop the bleeding from a gash in his arm. A burst of black energy caught me by surprise and sent me stumbling. I whipped around and saw Kirito, smiling as he blew a wisp of smoke away from his finger. I growled and concentrated the power i had left into an immense black sword and cleaved the ground with the gargantuan blade. Kirito, now back in his exalted form, casually drew his Purifier blade and twirled it around. I snarled and screeched, "It's over, Kirito! All of your allies are useless now! What can you hope to do against me?!" The Mars King didn't say a word, but simply took a defensive stance. I saw the wounded Isorans and Valkyries look on hopefully. To them, Kirito was probably a last hope. I smirked. I was going to crush that hope. Holding my blade at the ready, I beckoned Kirito forward and said,

"Take your best shot, Kirito."

((Seems as if this will be over soon. Well, Diablo will still end up fighting Ikaros in the end, meaning Kirito has to lose. Oh well, there ya go. This fight will end in bloodshed.))

Trivoc

Trivoc continued the blizzard, slashing his blade in the air every time he felt the icy storm weaken. Diablo however, had gathered his strength, broke out of the ice, and let out a high-pitched shriek. Everyone covered their ears, and Diablo used the momentary respite to whip several people with his tail. Euclid, Parma, Grantz, and Cleo were among the victims.

The Knight in the Hood and Silvermail lost his cool (literally), when he saw his allies get thrashed around. But, he managed to recover it in a few moments, once again sending a freezing wind upon the dragon. Ikaros took advantage of the ice, and started attacking Diablo at close range, much to the dragon's displeasure.

After Ikaros pulled out from her attack, Rulen suddenly shouted. "Fire in the hole!". Diablo failed to notice that he had moved into Rulen's bomb patch, just as the bomber detonated the charges. Earth shook and bright explosions appeared on the battlefield.

"ENOUGH!" Diablo exclaimed.

The dragon stomped on the ground, and let out a black wave, more menacing than The Swarm itself. Many people raised their shields, but it did them little good.

Trivoc had assumed a defensive stance with his Aegis, but the strength of the blast was too powerful, and the large shield shattered, sending several sharp pieces right into the Knight. Trivoc was knocked to the ground while feeling a pain so strong, he barely had the strength to even scream.

Most of the shards of the Aegis were blocked by his armor, but a few pieces hit the exposed part of his arm, sticking out of his skin, and causing it to bleed. Ikaros rushed to his side, trying to stop the bleeding, by first pulling out the shards of the Aegis. "Ack!" Trivoc exclaimed. "Sorry!" Ikaros said. She tried to look for something to cover the wound with, but all she had was the large fabric, given by the Alpha Squad. She folded it, and wound it tightly around the laceration.

Trivoc was being slowly overwhelmed by the pain [I have to lie down... and rest... No! Stay awake you sorry excuse for a Knight! You made her a promise... You are not about to break that just because you got a boo-boo! You... have... to... stay... awake...]. He willed himself to remain awake, a surprisingly difficult feat given his condition. His eyes would open and shut at random intervals, and all the while his breathing grew heavier.

"Stay with me. Look at me!" Ikaros shouted, taking Trivoc's head and forcing him to look into her eyes.. "Remember what I told you... I- I'll... I'll kill you if you die on me!" She said, tears flowing from her eyes, as she shook his head head to keep him awake. It was a slowly failing effort, however. His eyes began shutting more often than they opened.

Using some of the last of his strength, he raised his right hand (much harder due to the pain and increasing weakness), and touched Ikaros' face, trying to feel her skin and wipe her tears. If he was going to die, he wanted the last thing he did to mean something. And with that, he passed out.

Chappers

Throughout the whole battle, Chappers had stayed inside The Skylark, taking shots at Diablo with his Pepperbox every now and then. He felt that it would be as useful as he would get in the battle.

When Diablo released his black energy, Chappers took cover behind the hull of the ship, but the energy was like air, and it reached everywhere. The young Knight felt a searing pain, and thought that his end was near. He was surprised when the pain stopped almost immediately, and he saw that his body radiated with a white light. [... What...?] He thought to himself.

He looked outside of The Skylark and saw that everyone, save for Kirito, had been incapacitated. Chappers approached Arkus, who was leaning on his Trojan Sword that was piercing the ground. "your hands..." a voice said in Chappers' head. The Cobalt Knight looked at his hands, and pointed his palm at Arkus. The white light extended towards Arkus, and the Guardian slowly felt the pain from the black energy leave his body.

"What?... how did you do that?" Arkus asked him. Chappers shrugged. "I am unsure either." He replied. "I'm feeling better now. Go and help the others. I just need time to *urk*... Recover my strength." Arkus told him. Chappers nodded.

He turned and saw Ikaros, trying to shake an unconscious Trivoc. Chappers went to them as fast as he could. Ikaros was crying as she tried to wake him up. "Excuse me. I might be able to help." Chappers said as he gently pushed Ikaros out of the way. He scanned Trivoc's armor with his helmet. his HUD showed that the Knight was still alive, although barely.

"He'll live. But not if he gets hurt like that again." Chappers told the Uranus Queen as he turned to Diablo, who was now fighting with Kirito. "I'll take care of him. And seeing as everyone else is too hurt to keep fighting, you should help the Mars King finish this." He told Ikaros calmly, as he began working on the wounded Knight.

[So this is what that strange Snarbolax meant...] Chappers thought.

(Equinox)

I feel like acid is flying all around me and burying itself in my skin. I stand up, but barely. I feel on of my knees give out, and stand back up again. I stumble over to Diablo once more. "I'm not giving up, Diablo. You could hurt me all you want, you could even....kill me," I cough up blood into my fist. "but no matter what....state I'm in....I will make sure to leave you with painful scars." I hobble over, knowing he won't pay attention to me. I lift up my Combuster shakily, and barely lay it's tip on Diablo's back. My eyes turn blood red, and I twist the handle and force it down into Diablo. I see a trickle of magenta blood. I let a blast of fire erupt from the blade, and pull it out as his cut seals instantly. I know he can't feel the pain, and I have done nothing to him, but a magenta scar runs across his back. "Heal that, daemonic bastard."

I feel his wrath for real now, and I am blasted against a beam, and hang there as the force pushes me against the metal. I feel all my bones crack against the beam, and fall to the ground in screaming pain, screaming loud enough to make no noise. I dare not move for the excruciating pain. "We are officially out of the fight, Ecta," I struggle to say, "Sorry for my recklessness, but I am tired of being exiled. He deserves that scar though."

((I will edit if no approval is found, Kaiju. I am sorry, but Equinox is a badass when he's mad. Also, the sword didn't go into Diablo completely, just a centimeter. And I doubt he felt much pain, only for the moment it happened. Plus, Equinox is out of the fight now. You would understand if you knew who his father was, but I ain't giving it away in this Roleplay...))

@Gzilla: Feel free to say that Chappers has healed Axis already. I'm kind of wondering what effect white energy healing will have on a Swarm creature anyway, so just take creative liberty with that ;) ))

((Post 1058. Chappers was the one who pushed Ikaros out of the way and was the first to work on Trivoc. In your post, it mentioned that Valentine was the first to work on him. It's just a minor thing though.))

Ikaros

Instinctively, my wings flew up in defense as Diablo's evil energy ripped through the landscape. I was buffetted by the attack and nearly fell over, but my extremely strong wings absorbed most of the shock, purifying the dark power. I slowly unfurled my wings once more and gasped in shock. Diablo had incapacitated almost everyone on our team in one fell swoop. And in one corner, nursing a series of cuts and gashes was... Trivoc. I rushed over to him, tripping over my own feet, and fell to my knees, examining with fear in my eyes the gashes all over his body. I tried to extract some of the shattered shards of his Aegis, but only got an "Ack!" From him. I squeaked my apology and looked in my pack for something to staunch the blood. All I found was the cloth the Alpha Squad gave me. I folded the fabric and wound it around Trivoc's arm.

Trivoc's eyes started flickering open and closed. His breath grew shallow and ragged. I shook him by the shoulders, desperately trying to keep him awake. "Stay with me. Look at me!" I screamed, taking Trivoc's head and forcing him to look into my eyes."Remember what I told you... I- I'll... I'll kill you if you die on me!" I said, tears flowing from my eyes, as I shook his head head to keep him awake. It was a slowly failing effort, however. I sobbed, and noticed his eyes beginning shutting more often than they opened. Trivoc struggled and gently stroked my cheek with his hand. He slowly wiped away my tears, smiling. Then his eyes closed.

"No... No, no, no, no, NO!" I cried. I shook Trivoc again, trying everything; I shook, slapped, punched, even unleashed a chop on his soft spot that would bring him to his knees, but nothing could wake him. I cried softly and kissed him on the lips. I whispered, "Just remember what I said..." and sat there, tears streaming down my face. Chappers and another girl came up to me. They gently pushed me out of the way, trying to heal Trivoc. Chappers set to work with his new powers while the Valkyrie helped by slowly moving a small flame over Trivoc's wounds, using a ball of ice to numb the pain. Chappers said, "He'll live. But not if he gets hurt like that again." He looked at Diablo, who was about to fight Kirito. "I'll take care of him. And seeing as everyone else is too hurt to keep fighting, you should help the Mars King finish this." I nodded and picked up my weapons. I trudged over to the small patch of unscorched earth that the Valkyrie King and Diablo stood on, a fierce fire in my eyes. I walked to Kirito's side and grinned. He responded with a grim smile and readied his sword twirled my blade and pointed it at the Fallen Valkyrie.

"I'll kill you for this..."

Diablo

I felt an irritating, sharp stab of pain as the Snarbolax sunk his blade into my flesh. Fire erupted from the wound, but when he pulled away, it closed instantly. Seatus growled at me,"Heal that, daemonic bastard!" I scowled in annoyance and shot a blast of energy at him, sending the fool flying into a tree. I growled as a prickling feeling scathed my back. I turned to see another Valkyrie readying herself for battle "Come and get me, you little jerk!" She yelled. Imbecile. I turned back to the Uranus Queen and Mars King, taking in the situation. "Three on one?" I pouted. "That's a little unfair." I stomped the ground, paralyzing all of my enemies but one. I smashed my sword into the ground, sending shards of earth flying. Glaring at the Mars King, i growled. I had a score to settle with him. "You going to fight me or what, Mars King?"

With that, our blades clashed, sending sparks through the air.

Kirito

I growled at Diablo, a murderous fire in my eyes. He smirked, "You gonna fight me or what, Mars King?" I charged, bringing my blade down hard on his skull, but his enormous sword intercepted mine and pushed me back. The Valkyrie laughed. "Pathetic. Just go home now, Kirito. Or better yet,, give me your power." Quicker than lightning, the Fallen was upon me, his hands on my stomach and forehead. I growled and transformed into my Fallen form, fighting back his shadow energy with my own. Diablo frowned and pulled away, then brandished his sword. "Ok, ok then. I guess i'll have to kill you the hard way." A mischievous smirk spread across my face as I spotted a dark figure descending upon him. "Really, then? Look who's above you." He looked at me questioningly, and turned his head skyward. "What the fu-"

He was cut off. The Uranus Queen crashed onto him with amazing force, creating a miniature crater. When the dust cleared, she had her boot to Diablo's face, glaring at the Fallen as one would glare at an anoyying Silkwing. She kicked him aside and drew a miraculously sharp sword, one i had seen the other Valkyrie carrying earlier. As for said Valkyrie, i spotted her hiding behind cover, most likely waiting for an opportunity to strike and help in whatever way she could. Slowly, Diablo got up to his feet. A strand of hair had flopped on his face, and his eyes filled with maniacal rage. "I'll kill you... I'LL KILL YOU ALL!" He cackled and turned to me. "STARTING WITH YOU!"

Faster than a Cutter line sword, the Fallen was upon me, kicking and thrashing about. It was completely different from his usually cold and calculated fighting style; no, this was pure instinct and insanity. He fought with renewed strength, blocking every attack I made and using it against me. I almost got my sword to his neck when he bit down hard on my shoulder, taking a huge chunk of my black wing with him. I screamed in agony, and in that moment, Diablo's obsidian claws entered my stomach. He grinned maniacally at me and said, "Bye bye, Kirito." I winced and almost got out a "Shut the f-" but fell to the ground, unconscious. [Well this sucks,] I thought as i decayed into nothingness.

The last thing I saw was the Uranus Queen bearing down on Diablo with primal rage.

Ikaros

"No!" I yelled as Diablo clawed at the Mars King. I tackled the Fallen Valkyrie and fell to the floor on top of him, tumbling. I stole a glance behind myself to see how Kirito was doing when- oh Vog damn. He was gone. And that could only mean-

"HA! YOU"RE TOO LATE! TAKE THAT, YOU IMBECILE!" Diablo screeched as he regained his footing. I turned around menacingly and glanced at a puddle of water at my feet. My eyes were a crimson red, bloodlust evident in my glare. My usually combed hair was fiercely ruffled and cuts litterred my entire body. My armor was torn and a small, thin scar ran down the side of my left arm. To most people, I probably looked like a monster. I shook my head and turned my attention back to Diablo. His eyes mirrored the murderous hunger for blood that were in my own eyes. I whispered, "I'm. Going. To. Vog. Damn. Kill. You." Diablo laughed an insane cackle, an insane look in his eyes. He shouted, "LOOK AROUND YOU! I've beaten all of your friends, killed Kirito! You can't possibly defeat me! YOU'RE WEAK!" At the end of that sentence, i heard an impossibly loud BANG! and watched as Diablo clutched his head in pain. He withdrew the bullet from his head and scowled. Another banging noise resounded, and I looked to see the cause of the sound. Floating towards us with about a hundred Isorans and Morai behind us was... Tomoki. ((Remember, this is near the Skylark, which was around Haven. Naturally, the Isorans and Morai would check out why the Skylark crashed.)) A scowl crossed Tomoki's face as he glared at Diablo. "She may be weak, sure. But that's when she's on her own. Now she has us, so you're going down, you sadistic freak."

My brother turned to me and smiled grimly. "How's it going, baby sister?"

(( so anyway, since Thin wont be able to mod this thread, I guess I'll wrap this battle up with my next post. Since Thin will be busy modding on Finder's Keepers, I guess i could start a new thread for us to post on; an epilogue to this one, if you will; tying up loose ends, making Tomoki play "overprotective older brother" with Ikaros and Trivoc, i guess if Thin and Infernus want then making Gwen come back and have a hug with Theo, etc. ))

Oops. Looks like Thrynn buried Gwen, without knowing she might still be alive/saveable. dx Well, at least it'll be odd having another meetup like

Maybe, both stories are just based on two different things that happened at the same time, but in reality, this universe, Gwen could be saved, unlike the other universe (F-K) Gwen stayed evil.
So. . . both timelines are based off of chance. . . on (possibly) two different worlds.

"I knew that the power of death is great but..." Theo spoke to himself as he stared in awe at the Diablo, "It cannot be misused...."

"So that's my story.... heck, it seems that if Diablo dies, our fates shall be locked as his..." Thanatos spoke to Atropos, he closed his eyes and thought for a plan to save himself from death. "A contract... I must renew my contract... so his power shall be drained away from me...."

"But who?" Atropos interrupted on the brilliant plan, "Who could defeat you? Or even me?" she continued. "There are those who met the criteria... Ikaros... Kirito.... Valentine... Equinox.... Trivoc..." Thanatos paused and took a deep breath, "There is also... Gwen.... Clotho and... Theodore...."

"The boy? He isss ssstil alive?" Atropos asked him with a surprised look on her face, "Why would he meet the criteria? He wasss only powerful becaussse of you!"

"You... did not know?" Thanatos answered with the same expression Atropos had earlier, "Considering the fact that he survived deaths countless times.... wouldn't it be obvious that he really is far more powerful than me?"

"Wh-what do you mean?"

"You do realize that every planet has its own doppelganger right? What if... we were the doppelganger? and what if... he is the real Death who sealed his powers?"

((Who should the contract be given to? vote vote vote vote!))

((Well... the contract is simple, if the summoner (the person who wanted to make the contract) was able to defeat Thanatos/Atropos, that person will be granted limitless potential and an eternal life. But by eternal life it meant that you will be bound from the contract forever- and if the summoner terminates the contract, his/her power will return to its original state and the God will run amok and be free once more.

But as what Thanatos had spoke, there are few who might be able to defeat him in a fight. Meaning that this might be able to make them stronger and defeat Diablo for good... since Diablo's strength is still amplified of Thanatos and Atropos' contract, meaning if someone makes a contract with one of them, Diablo will lose the power he took from Thanatos and Atropos.

And yes, the summoner will be granted the power of death.... and their soul will be collected from their death and be reincarnated in the next cycle.
