The others looked at me with some surprise. Axis pointed at the fallen, "This isn't it got it?" "And you guys." he motioned at alpha squad and the others "After you're through thrashing him, gimme a shot alright?" "There won't be anything after we're done with him." Grantz said as he cracked a smile. Axis looked at the giant dragon. "Right on it." And like that I teleported out. He walked in on mass destruction. "What..what happened?" he asked telepathically to the swarm. "Thanatos." it simply said. He followed the path of destruction. He found an injured knight, he recognized it as Barrus. "What the...?" he looked in horror and amazement. Axis smiled. "You're lucky i'm on business and that you're injured." "I would've challenged you and we would've finished where we left off." Barrus smiled weakly. "In your dreams." "Which way did he go?" "To the Garricks, trying to intercept Feron and the others." Axis mentally contacted healers in the area. "You better live, we have unfinished business." And like that Axis rushed off, intercepting the god of death.
Return to Cradle (Roleplay. Apps accepted!)
((So wait... I thought the Dragon had fled somewhere. If so, how can the Alpha Squad team run into him AND Diablo at the same time? I'm just confused, can someone clear that up?))
Trivoc
He thought he could not have been any happier in his life when he heard Ikaros ask him to stay next to her. [I can't believe I actually matter that much to her...] He thought blissfully. He didn't even mind Alpha Squad at this point.
The moment was soon broken however by Axis' sudden shout. ""We need to go to the core, NOW." He said. Grantz disagreed, but Axis replied. "Whatever attacked Haven is moving to the core, fast." The Morai exclaimed. Trivoc looked at him confusedly [Wait... What attacked Haven?] He thought. He had no time to ponder the matter however as Alpha Squad was already mobilizing.
Dagoon, Archemiday, and Thrynn (who had an unfinished blade of some sort) had also packed their things and prepared to move out.
Trivoc himself had gotten up, and drew his Cold Iron Vanquisher, twirling and toying with it to get himself back in the groove of fighting. He turned to Ikaros, who only had weapons, but no armor. "Stay with me. I'm not breaking my promise to be by your side, that quickly." He said, with a hint of mixed humor and affection towards the end. Ikaros smiled and nodded.
The entire team then boarded the elevator and descended into The Sanctuary.
---
They were already hearing the faint sounds of battle the moment they arrived, so it wasn't difficult to find where the action was at.
The group found Seatus, several Valkyries, Anubis, a Knight with a Snarbolax coat and Grey Feather Cowl, and... [A... Black Star Dragon?!] doing battle against a small, black figure.
The team joined the fight quickly enough, and Axis' first move (much to everyone's surprise) was to speak with the Star Dragon, that seemed to be Swarm-infected. [Makes sense I guess... Axis is still technically with The Swarm after all] Trivoc thought.
"I gave orders for all the Void beings to merge with me, but you are clearly not connected to the Void." The Dragon paused for a moment, before continuing to speak in its booming voice. "Axis, quickly head back to Haven. You must engage the dark spirit you find there. Do not let it consume you." It finished.
Axis nodded, and then turned to the black Valkyrie. "This isn't it got it? And you guys..." He gestured towards the others. "After you're through thrashing him, gimme a shot alright?" He said, before teleporting away.
Trivoc looked towards black Valkyrie, who seemed to be everyone's common target. He pulled out his Argent Peacemaker and took aim. "Anyone mind giving us a sit-rep ((Situational Report)) on what happened here?" Trivoc asked the group that they had encountered, as he unloaded several shots toward the black Valkyrie.
Alpha Squad was also in motion. Rulen had set up some sort of, mechanical turret that he managed to control using a pointing device. Euclid headed off to the side, waiting for an opportunity to hit the enemy the moment it landed. Grantz kept his shield up, ready to protect his allies at a moment's notice. And Parma... was nowhere to be found. [Well, that's normal for a Recon] Trivoc thought.
He wondered where Arkus and Chappers were though, and hoped that they were still alright.
((@Thin: Sorry about that, I was rushing off before D:))
Gwen and Theo awoke to find Thanatos standing over them. Gwen stood up and politely addressed him. "What do you need, Thanatos?"
"You... I WILL KILL YOU FO-" Theo screamed but he quickly collapsed to the floor unconscious with Thanatos' hand on his neck.
"I don't have time for you know..." Thanatos growled as he pulled his hand away from him, he turned to Gwen and smiled at her. "I'm here to speak to you personally Gwen..."
Thanatos grinned as he picked up the Volcanic Pipe Theo was holding to before, he blew the tip of the pipe puffed a small cloud of smoke. "I don't have any intentions to fight you... for now, I don't have much time..."
He cleared his throat and threw the Volcaninc Pipe to the floor. "The more you became close to Theo, the more you shall endanger yourself, you know that your... relationship with him is taboo... he is weak, useless and foolish.... You are better off without him, you were only interested on him because of his powers right? Those powers... All belongs to me..."
Thanatos grinned and bowed respectfully, "No need for cruel remarks or curses, what I have told you is the truth- the next time we meet... shall be the last time you swing your blade..."
And he disappeared into darkness once more.
She must understand, she must leave him... so harvesting her soul would be easier.... Oh my... what is this..? heh.... I can't believe that... the.... swarm dared to.... urgh... I.... must.... I SHALL CONSUME THIS POWER ALSO!!!
As Thanatos exited from the darkness and returned to Haven, where he didn't expected to be greeted by someone.
(Seatus)
His attacks, useless. "This Blade is as old as you, and probably a little older. The Luminites brought it with them from their homeworld when they were absorbed into Cradle. You can't do much about it." my wings burn a deeper, bloodier red. I watch the Swarmian take his leave, and am seriously disappointed "Well, this is going to be boring," I mumble...
((Clarifying: Seatus had the two Isorans enveloped in the field as well. Diablo shouldn't have been able to hurt them. Seatus isn't going to use the Blade's full power yet, since Diablo still has a chance to leave. Seatus is only using the Blade to protect the Isorans behind him.))"What did I tell you? GET OUT OF HERE!" I scream, the Whitespace the Valkyrie summoned cycloning around me inside the domed-off energy field. "I just want you out of my Sanctuary," I say calmly. "Or I will be forced to get you out. I aM fUlLy CaPaBlE oF hUrTiNg YoU wItH tHiS bLaDe..." I feel the bloodlust in me, ready to take control. I hunger....for the sin in his blood.....
( Will edit post when I return from School )
Dagoon looked over her shoulder as she parried a heavy strike from the left, "So, does anybody mind telling us who this dragon and ((Vin)) person are?"
and casually swung a quick strike from the bottom-left at Diablo.
(Alternately)
How many strikes have we all exchanged in total?
It's over nine-thousand!!!
((
@Azure-Orbit: The dragon first went from Haven to the Sanctuary. After being surprised by Diablo, the dragon fled from the Sanctuary to an undefined portion of the Clockworks. I'm trying to think of a name for this beast. How does "Mor'Loki" sound? That's Tokien-Elvish for "black dragon."
By the way, remember how the dragon modeled itself after a battle sprite?
@Infernus-Dragneel: We need to consider this and this before proceeding. The prophecies are what would happen if the participants continue down their current paths.
))
Theo shouted at Thanatos, "You...I WILL KILL YOU FO-" but Thanatos cut him off by strangling him to unconsciousness. "I don't have time for you, you know. I'm here to talk to you, Gwen." She nodded and listened. He picked up Theo's Volcanic Pipe and continued. "I don't have any intentions to fight you yet, as I lack sufficient time." Gwen scoffed. "I'm so lucky then, aren't I?" Thanatos cleared his throat and put down the pipe. "Not really, no. The closer you become to Theo, the greater your danger to yourself. Your relationship with him is taboo. He is weak, useless, and foolish, and you are better off without him. You were only interested in him because of his powers, right? Well, those powers belong to me."
Gwen replied, "I am interested in him because he has a kind heart. You wouldn't understand." Thanatos chuckled. "No need for cruel remarks or curses; what I have told you is the truth. The next time we lock blades will be your last."
He disappeared, leaving Gwen with more questions than answers. What did he intend to do with the two of them? And was he really threatening to kill her?
Something dreadful was happening in the Core. She kissed Theo on the forehead, put an Echo Stone next to him (the one she planted by Marmalade's grave a long time ago, now with a new message), and teleported to the Core. There, she saw a powerful black Valkyrie, imbued with all the powers of darkness and armed with the most sinister weapons in the universe. She stepped to the side, raised her right arm, and summoned the energies of the Core to herself. She then weaved a barrier shield for protection and created an energy whip in her left hand. The Valkyrie, suddenly noticing her bright presence, recognized her as the Queen. She cracked her whip, extended a hand to him, and beckoned him.
He saw some...thing manifest out of pure darkness, it had recently teleported back to haven. Axis shrugged, time to introduce himself. 4 deafening shots rang out only two clipped the strange being. "I want answers, now!" "Why did you kill these knights, and why did you strike them down right after all they've been through?" cried Axis. "Death takes whoever it wants." the stranger said simply, but it sent chills down his spine, he said it remorselessly, he looked at the Knights and Morai like livestock, only there to provide food. Axis voiced his distaste in the stranger by shooting him again, unloading the whole clip on him. The stranger just smiled. "I don't think I gave you my name." the stranger said the grim smile still hanging over his face. "Does it look like I care, you murdered my friends and innocent people, I've been ordered to eliminate you." "You're playing with death." the stranger said with a voice of indifference. And like that he rushed forward giving Axis only a second to parry the strike, it was inhuman. "Oh vog what have I gotten myself into now?" Axis thought to himself. "It's Thanatos by the way, and you're Axis, Ex-Morai enforcer, right?" "Too bad for you, you won't be able to see my master plan unfold, you're just going to be another buffet for me." "We'll see about that!' Axis shouted.
I can edit the conversation if you don't like it infernus.
Ikaros
I smiled as Trivoc edged closer to me in the elevator. "Stay with me. I'm not breaking my promise to be by your side, that quickly." He said. Nodding, i put my arm around him and snuggled closer. Under normal circumstances, it would look like we were just trying to make more room in the crowded elevator, [Who knew that two entire squads of knights, a bard, a battle sprite, and a Gremlin would even be ABLE to fit in one elevator?] but we didn't fool anyone. Parma grinned at us and Rulen pouted like a child, probably upset that i was already taken. I gripped Trivoc's hand in mine and sighed as the elevator creaked to a stop. It opened slowly and ominously, and i saw an awkward sight; an entire group of regal-looking Valkryies, a Snarbolax, a dragon, and an immensely powerful corrupted Valkyrie. I sighed, [Another fight...] and edged even closer to Trivoc.
Well, if I was going to fight, at least Trivoc was by my side.
----------------
Diablo
Just as i had raised my blade to strike down one of the Valkyries, i heard voices speaking. A Morai who seemed Swarm-posessed was talking to the drago- wait. My paralyzation had worn of that quickly? Perhaps the beast was more powerful than i thought. I turned my attention to the other group of Isorans. The one in the Silvermail had his gun at the ready, while the others were all keeping their hands on their weapons. I smirked. More snacks for me, then. I flicked away the Argent Peacemaker shots and countered with a salvo of Stormbringer bullets. The Isoran dodged, but i noticed another one was circling around, most likely waiting for an opportunity to strike. Smart in one way, seeing as he could get a decent strike in. Yet stupid in another, since he was just leaving himself open to attack. My wing's spike extended and rocketed towards him, smashing a hole only an inch away from him.
I smelled another Isoran stalking around; most likely a Recon. I sent six explosive Stormbringer shots at the Recon, which landed into the ground and exploded around her. The girl went sprawling, but i sensed she was still alive. No matter. I turned to the Isoran piloting the turret and swiftly dodged every bullet, then shot a single bullet straight down the turret's barrel, clogging it. The Guardian was protectively taking stance near the other two Isorans... Wait. No. Was that a Valkyrie? Oh, now THAT would make an excellent dish. I licked my lips and divebombed towards the Guardian, and punched right through the shield he had created. I smashed the Guardian in the stomach, and he crumpled, nursing his wound. Smirking, i turned towards the last two and twirled my blade nonchalantly.
Suddenly, i heard swirling noises. I whipped around to see Seatus surrounded by a typhoon of Whitespace. He spoke calmly, "I just want you out of my Sanctuary. If you wont get out, ill force you out. Im fully capable of hurting you." I rolled my eyes in annoyance. People could be so stupid. Just then, i noticed a bright glow and turned to see a Valkyrie. Not just any Valkyrie, though. It was Gwenyvier, the Queen of the Council. Other than Kirito and Astraea, she was perhaps the only Valkyrie in existence that could hold her own against me. Still, from her pathetic display of power -well, at least pathetic compared to her days on the Council- I already knew i could strike her down with ease.
I smirked, "Isn't four on one a little unfair? ((Ikaros, Triv, Gwen, and ol' Seaty)) Tell you what, i wont use my sword, maybe that'll even things up." I wasn't trying to be arrogant for the sake of being so; it was part of a plan, as all things i do are. I just needed to get these guys riled up, and they would fall easily.
Gwenyvier beckoned to me, a powerful energy whip glowing in her hand. A force field had formed around the Snarbolax and the Isorans. I could tell it was strong, but i could probably still break through it with only minor resistance. I smiled at Gwen and said mockingly, "Is that any way to greet your old friend, my dear Gwenyvier? How about a hug?" She scowled at me, and i smirked. "Ok, ok. If you won't even show me a little hospitality, then i guess it's no more mister nice evil-incarnation-of-destruction-and-carnage-itself-demon-Valkyrie for you." I sent my dark energy into Typhon and watched as the blade grew a foot longer and became even more wickedly sharp than it already was. I glared at Gwenyvier and imitated her gesture from earlier, beckoning her to fight me.
Suddenly, my eyes wandered back to the Valkyrie with pink hair and the Isoran standing protectively -how cute and pathetic- in front of her. Those dark blue eyes... That flare of determination in them... It was reminiscent of... No. Impossible. This girl couldnt possible be the new Uranus Queen... Could she? I concentrated and stared at her aura, a bright pink surrounded by a layer of blood red. I staggered- well, as well as you can stagger when you're flying, and looked at her with an emotion i had never felt since the last time i fought Astraea; fear.
I growled in displeasure. This Uranus Queen was undeveloped; she had not reached her true potential. Yet. Somehow, i still knew that, even now, she was stronger than everyone else here- no one could even compare to the immensely powerful aura she gave off. No matter. I would simply devour more souls and become stronger than any Uranus Queen could ever be. I smirked and turned back to Gwen, who was rushing towards me. Blocking a strike from her whip, i teleported behind her and grabbed her by the neck, then tossed her towards the floor, creating a small crater. She easily recovered -of course she would- and stood back up. I could tell by the look in her eyes that she knew. I was right; that young Valkyrie was the legendary Uranus Queen. Gwenyvier noticed my realization and smiled. "How does it feel, knowing the Uranus Queen is right here, Diablo?" My frown only became larger, but then turned upside down. "Simple. It feels boring." Gwenyvier looked at me curiously, and i replied, "I'm going to take more souls than the God of Death, Thanatos himself. I'll devour them, and when I'm done, no Uranus Queen will be able to stand a chance against me." Gwen glared at me, and i knew she wasn't about to let me get away now that i told her my plans. But who says she controls me?
Before anyone could even react, i blew a mocking flying kiss at Gwenyvier and said, "Bye bye."
I felt myself transform into a mass of pure evil energy and rocket away in search of life forces to consume. I took one last fleeting glance at the vanishing figures of the Valkyries and Isorans. The next time i saw them, I'd be seeing looks of horror on their faces.
I cackled and landed on what was probably the most abundant source of life energy on Cradle: the Gloaming Wildwoods, a forest teeming with animals. Not for long.
Nobody heard the horrified screams of the Beasts as i struck them down, one by one.
______________
(( Yay! Diablo's gone for now, in search of life energies to devour and become even more impossibly OP! With him -temporarily- out of the way, i guess this frees everyone up to take care of Thanatos, who as far as i know, is the only other villain left. I'd like to make Diablo the very last villain; sort of like a final boss in a game.
@Infernus; hey, hey. Am i the only one thinking of Diablo and Thanatos teaming up? Because that would DEFINITELY not be overpowered. XD))
@Seatus: my god, the power plays. A story's better when the heros have to struggle to beat their enemies, not when they are basically saying, "I can beat you any day. Easily. Without any training, LOL." At least give Diablo a chance to be as OP as his achievements and status make him seem.))
We headed downstairs, and we saw a dragon and a shadowy figure fighting. *insert fight here* we had some casualties, so I reached into my bag and took out some mountain jelly, some bandages, and... My fathers silver six! He had given it to me for my birthday.i decided to holster it before going to patch up wounds.
((@kajui my bag has infinite items in it. I could probably suck up Diablo with it, so I'm op 😃))
((@Thinslayer: Mor'Loki sounds good, but that's coming from a fellow LoTR fan XD. Also about the Dragon,,, Yeah I guess I did get its looks somewhat confused :/))
Trivoc
Trivoc had just finished reloading his Peacemaker, when the black Valkyrie had taken out Parma, and disabled Rulen's gun. The foe made a divebomb for Grantz and broke right through the defensive stance, sending the Guardian crumpling to the ground.
[This does not look good] Trivoc thought. If he could take down Alpha Squad, the best exploration Knights that The Order had to offer, Trvioc wasn't sure how much of a difference he could make. When he noticed the black Valkyrie turn towards him and Ikaros with malicious intent, he drew his Vanquisher and prepared to make a stand.
Before their enemy could do anything however, Seatus seemed to had gotten more powerful, and was threatening the black Valkyrie in a distorted voice. Gwen had also made an appearance and challenged the enemy. The black Valkyrie looked back towards Trivoc and Ikaros. He examined Ikaros more closely and appeared to have fear flash through his face for a split second. [What does he have to be afraid of?] Trivoc wondered, while maintaining his stance.
Gwen decided to make the first move and attacked the black Valkyrie with a whip. Trivoc felt that he should help, but he'd probably be more of a hindrance rather than an asset. After a brief scuffle, Gwen and the black Valkyrie looked at each other. Gwen smiled."How does it feel, knowing the Uranus Queen is right here, Diablo?" She taunted. "Simple. It feels boring. I'm going to take more souls than the God of Death, Thanatos himself. I'll devour them, and when I'm done, no Uranus Queen will be able to stand a chance against me." The black Valkyrie replied, before mocking Gwen one last time, and then flying away.
Trivoc relaxed his sword and turned to the Queen Valkyrie. "Gwen, do you know that guy?" He asked. Alpha Squad was patching themselves up. Euclid and Rulen hadn't really been hit, but Parma and Grantz were a different story. Trivoc also finally spotted Arkus and Chappers, slumped against a large rock formation.
[Times like these make me wish I was a medic...] Trivoc thought.
((
I worked so hard on Gwen's "awesomeness pose." I was hoping that she and Diablo could face off in an epic duel. Oh well.))
And yes, I would like the heroes to struggle more to beat Diablo. However, if we're to make that happen in a more epic fashion, I think the fight needs to be more regulated. Let's get some moves and equips straight:
Gwen is armed with a Fearless Rigadoon (primary weapon), energy whip (secondary weapon), shield bracelet (shield), and a barrier field (armor & helm). She also has the equivalent of a Striker Boost. Some of her sword moves involve shield-cancelling (a quick jab & block), charge attack (4-swing combo), bait & sidestep, and spin attack (her signature twirl). She can use her boost to dodge close-quarters and ranged attacks, and dart vertically around her environment. She can use her whip to strangle, trip, lash, and grab her opponents.
Her barrier field can stop all damage types and statuses, as can her shield bracelet. Her Fearless Rigadoon has very high damage bonus UVs against constructs and slimes, allowing her to use it with somewhat greater success against them.
She also has "channeling" abilities at her command. These include generating vortexes & hazes, hurling status bullets, healing wounds, purging dark essences, generating defensive barriers, telekinetics, and teleportation. She has access to the pierce and elemental damage types, and can utilize the three elemental statuses, fire, shock, and freeze. She also has the unique (for a Valkyrie) ability to curse her opponents. She does not have access to poison or sleep. She always uses stun.
Now, I reckon Diablo is a strong shadow being, correct? I doubt he is capable of generating elemental attacks. That means he cannot use fire, shock, freeze, or the elemental damage type. He can, however, utilize poison, curse, sleep, stun, and shadow. Pierce seems a little too delicate for him. I'll let you figure out his combat moves from here on out.
))
(Seatus)
I rip out the Ancient Blade from the ground as Diablo takes his leave. I swing it onto my shoulder, and step over to a tree, and cover up my presence to watch the events.
((@Kaijuhunter, I think that you underestimate Seatus' abilities as a Great Snarbolax, especially a purged one. I got the Ancient Blade to use as protection, I still wouldn't have been able to attack you. I tried with the spikes, but if you didn't notice the 'around' I put in my post...they wouldn't have even gotten within a yard of Diablo. Seatus, it seems, cannot use weapons for offensive purposes. If Diablo had drawn Seatus' blood....different story. Now, if you had, say, shot at him with Stormbringer when you had gotten in Sanctuary, I would have gladly taken the shot. And, please, don't underestimate Seatus. I will go home and start abusing Chromalisks with my cars and dynamite if you do D: Also, remember the part about me giving up? Well, that's happening currently, and you are going to have to get angry at me for the powerplays, or IGNORE me like you did Anubis *silently rages*))
I let myself sit under the tree, and purify Sanctuary from Diablo's essence with the last of my energy before I fall asleep
(Well, Considering that Dagoon time jumped ahead of everybody (Get it?) I won't post about the elevator.
Also, If I'm going to post more directed at Archemiday, I guess. . . Well. Looks like he's now found a partnership! (Or better! Rivalry? Nah.))
Dagoon was laying with her face on the floor in a painful position. She slowly got up and drew her sword. However she was dissapointed to find that she had missed most of the battle, and that the enemy had left. "Ugh. . . Everybody alright?" She looked into her bag and found a box of uneaten apples and cotlets. she took one, and passed the box to Archemiday.
((Since I'm usually not online when you guys are, I'll explain how my character fights. For the sake of having accurate fight scenes if you need control of him.
Trivoc is armed with three weapons, a Cold Iron Vanquisher (Highly effective against undead foes, but can be used for any enemy), and Argent Peacemaker (effective against "darkness-aligned" creatures, but not so much against "light-aligned"), and a single Irontech Destroyer (which he has yet to use because he has never really needed to).
He switches quickly between the Vanquisher, and the Peacemaker. When the enemy is close, he can move quickly and unleash 3 strong swings with his Vanquisher. When they enemy retreats or moves out of sword reach, he will draw the Peacemaker and open fire, as opposed to giving chase. This because of his defense-based mindset. He will be wary of enemies who try to lead him into a trap (AKA: those who try to goad him somewhere); he fights on his own terms.
His melee attacks consist of swift sword swings and stabs. He can also use the Aegis as a weapon by bashing it against an enemy, which can send them into a daze. His aim with the Peacemaker is decent, being able to easily hit idle targets. however, he may miss the faster ones.
His calm demeanor allows him to stay focused, even in a heated moment, or surprise attack. But with recent new relationships, there is a chance he may go into a berserker frenzy if Ikaros is endangered.
That's all folks :P))
What the title was supposed to be: Fighting Styles! But then I watched Nerd3. (3 = Cubed) And then the world ended. . .
______
Thrynn: He likes either doing a hit and run attack (He does have wings after all) or using a flail, possibly while flailing himself.
Dagoon: Wears down the enemies until they are weak enough for her to deal a finishing blow to them. (Although this has NEVER been demonstrated)
Trivoc came up to Gwen and asked, "Gwen, do you know that guy?" She sighed and nodded. "Yes, I know him. He formed the White Council many aeons ago, and is a superior swordsman. But he became conceited, and tried to overtake the council and, thereby, the universe." She sheathed her weapons, wrapped up her whip, and sat down. "He rallied a rebellion against the council to that end, but foolishly agreed to single combat, where he was narrowly defeated by the Uranus Queen." She looked away and up at the sky. "That will no longer be possible. He has had ages to plot his revenge, and is undoubtedly stronger now. No one being can destroy him." She then looked deep into Trivoc's eyes. "But together, we may be able to defeat him."
She looked at Dagoon. "This young woman has come closer to defeating the enemy than any one of us, even Seatus or myself. She stood up to Diablo, hit him not once, not twice, but many times with her own blade, and has survived. Grantz, while wounded, has withstood an attack that would have gravely wounded me. You are all far, far stronger than you know. Don't lose hope! Diablo may be imposing, but he is not indestructible. Trivoc, Arkus! Have you not together defeated Darkfire Vanaduke, who is at least as powerful as Diablo? Euclid, has not your squad traveled through the very lair of the Swarm and survived? To whom can we credit the destruction of Seatus's father, the great Snarbolax?"
Alpha Squad looked down at their feet. Arkus shouldered his blade and nodded. "But we can't do it by brute strength alone, right? I mean, we needed a bell to defeat the Snarbolax, water to defeat Vanaduke, and rockets to defeat the Roarmulus Twins. What do we need to defeat Diablo?" Gwen sighed and looked down at her own feet, too. They were bare, and rather good-looking. "I don't know, Arkus. Shadow beings hate the light, and cannot stand to stay in its presence. I reckon Diablo's stay here in the Sanctuary has already been debilitating to him. If one were to shine light in his eyes..." She became deep in thought.
Arkus finished. "...then he would be stunned, right?" Gwen didn't answer, as she was still lost in thought. Arkus posed the question to his squad mates. "Supposing we tried to shine light into Diablo's face. The light would kinda go to his head and stun him, right? He may be kinda like an overpowered Snarbolax - stun him, and he becomes vulnerable. What do you think?"
Huh...thought Vin as he saw the thorn bounce harmlessly off of the alien-thing.
He looks at the huge lump of Swarm, which seemed to be communicating, and tilted his head to the side. If it was friendly, then what might have happened while he was out?
No matter, he had to go see Seatus. He hadn't remembered him white and all humanoid, but the same familiar aura come from him. Vin came up to him, and sat down in front of the sleepy person.
"Hi-ya~! Do ya still remember me?" the Knight jovially said.
((Now, for the life of me, why is everyone powerplaying and being overpowered like hell? I know this is supposed to make it more fun, but JESUS H CHRIST, no one can survive if you guys are going to dominate the thread like this!))
(Seatus)
"Vin!" I exclaim, giving him a enthusiastic handshake. "It's good to see you. You came just in time. You will be the First Hero of my experiment against Diablo," I grin, and pick up the Ancient Blade.
"This has the Guarding powers of a Guardian, the overpowering smash of a Sudaruska, and pure elemental damage. The only catch is, it's really slow and the elemental damage is only in an attack, not the charge..." I explain, hoping he will take it. "As soon as you take it, I can continue on my experiment to create a peaceful War." I grin deviously, holding it out and praying to the Gods he will take it.
"I would us it myself, but I canlt really use a weapon." I say, and rub my neck in embarrassment...
Kirito
I roared in rage. Finally, i was able to escape the Core with one fell swoop. Smashing through the incredibly powerful metal, i reached the light of the Sanctuary. After a few minutes nursing my wounds, i walked into the light. I spotted the Isorans and Gwenyvier and heard them conversing. Apparently, they were discussing how to beat Diablo.
"What do we need to defeat Diablo?" Gwenyvier said. I snuck up behind everyone and announced, pointing to the pink-haired Valkyrie,"That... Would be her." Everyone turned to me, and i held my hands up in surrender so that they knew i wasn't playing. "Why are you here?" Gwen asked coldly. "Simple. I want Diablo gone. Forever. And that's in my interests, seeing as how he sealed me in the Core and left me to rot. If there's one thing you can count on, it's my hunger for vengeance." I paused and took in everybody's expressions when they heard that a single Valkyrie was able to escape the Core itself. I sighed. "You may not believe me, but i DO want Diablo dead. And I'm sorry, because I am key to that plan." Everybody started conversing once more, but i shot down every one of their proposements to defeat Diablo. Gwen suggested they shine a light in his face, but i laughed. "That may work with lesser monsters, but come on, this is the King of the Fallen we're talking about here. There's only one way to truly defeat him, and you know it, Gwen." The Queen glared at me, but sighed. "It's true. In order to permanently seal away Diablo, the Uranus Queen... And the Mars King must work together." I nodded and motioned for her to continue. Gwen wore a pained expression, but she said, "The last Mars King we had was over a million years ago. Except for now." Everyone looked at her askance, and Gwenyvier pointed at me. "Kirito here is the current Mars King." The Uranus Queen laughed nervously, and asked, "You're kidding, right? Right?"
I shook my head. "Nope. For once, I am not lying."
Ikaros
((This part occurs right after Kirito's POV ))
I listened in silence as everyone debated the best way to defeat the Dark Valkyrie. The other Fallen one, Kirito, had joined in on the conversation, after apparently escaping the Core singlehandedly. I noticed as a group of pure white Valkyries came to join us. The smallest one walked up to me and whispered, "Hello there." I waved shyly and the Valkyrie turned to Gwen. He nodded in respect, which she returned with a short bow. Gwen asked quietly, "So you're here for Ikaros, then?" The Valkyrie nodded and turned to me. "You are the Uranus Queen, the only one who can defeat Diablo. You are strong, but not strong enough. If you so wish, i can unlock your full potential for you. Your powers will far surpass those of Darkfire Vanaduke himself." I gasped slightly and turned to Trivoc for his approval. He nodded, and i turned back to the Valkyrie. "If it's the only way to beat this guy... I accept."
The Valkyrie nodded. "The let us begin." He put his thumb to my forehead and i felt a small tingle throughout my body. A tiny light emanated from my chest, growing larger. I felt my wings expand, growing more powerful and flexible. When the glowing stopped, i looked at my hands. I then took in my appearance; my wings were more fully developed and larger. My i felt a pure white halo hovering around my head and looked down at my neck; a golden necklace and chain had wrapped around me. I felt more powerful than ever.
The Valkyrie grinned at me somberly, as did the other Valkyries behind him. All of my friends but Gwenyvier and Kirito were awestruck, they simply gawked at me. Rulen seemed most interested, since my armor was a little revealing. The regal Valkyrie smiled and pulled a golden bow out of thin air. He pushed it into my hands, "This was your mother's bow. Use it well." I nodded, and the Valkyrie said, "Kneel for a moment, please." I complied, and he smiled at everyone.
"All hail Ikaros Alpha, the Uranus Queen!"
"This is a bit clunky for me," I reply, but I take the weapon anyways. I de-materialize it (that's how Knights store inventory), and then put it away.
"Still," I continue, "I have to thank you for letting me survive that incident. Got all the power I even want right in here!" I point at my foil, which was originally a small thorn from Seatus. I had refined it with alchemy, until it became a fearsome weapon that most Knights would be scared of. From there, I went beyond the alchemy, and nurtured it with an extensive amount of heat and energy. The finished result was something like a Barbarous Thorn Blade, but it was exclusive only to my use. On top of that, it ejected thorns without having to waste any energy at all.
"Maybe I can teach you how to fight, although I think you might prefer your..." I trail off. I wasn't too sure what he used to fight, I assume his thorns or something, but no matter.
"What do you have?"
I'm trying to think upon whether or not I should add. . . Eh, no. Not much elevator space soon. By post 4500 we will have to send many groups to different areas.
_______________
Dagoon lightly rubbed her head. She could hear some. . . ringing noise. [ Geez is that annoying!] "You must gather materials for Thrynn. Your group's survivability shall count on it." Dagoon couldn't figure out what was telling her this, but it was making her creel in pain, she sat in the corner, In hope she wouldn't be noticed. She attempted to rummage around in her pack, only to find weak materials. [ I guess. . . Even with little explanation, I guess. . . ] Guessing by how urgent the unknown voice was, she decided, she might as well search for some materials, although she was not sure what she needed.
(Seatus)
"Oh, well, I now have these wings and my thorns are now more accurate and three times as sharp, not to mention I have these wicked claws and the Waters of Sanctuary on my side. It's not that I can't fight, it's just...that Blade is extremely powerful, and Alice has Cursed it so that us, the Snarbolaxes, cannot use it. She Cursed everything down here that might be extremely powerful for the Bosses, considering she thought we all might turn Corrupt once the Swarm had waken. There are Sectors, see? And in these are the most powerful equipment yet. But when it has been used, I must return them."
Oh the complications of the Clockworks. I glance over to the others, and finally recognize the presence of the Uranus Queen. "So THAT'S what I have been sensing!" I exclaim. I turn back to Vin. "Anyways, the Gods are currently back together once more, so now there are divine paths to follow that will equal to magic." I whisper to him. "I might tell the others, but I am not an attractive subject at the moment. There are paths for you to follow if you ever needed help. Like, as a failsafe. I could give you the name of the kind of God you would ask for help. You can use it in your most desperate time of need. You don't have to worship them as much as offer sacrifice from the evil you kill....it's okay to say you don't want to, I just wanted you to know about it first...."
I saw dagoon in pain. I walked over and asked, "what happened?"
((Want to have arch and dagoon in some relationship like trivoc and ikaros? After all it takes two couples to do two tangos. That's assuming she actually isn't a dead zombie. Just a thought.))
"My dear Kirito, I don't speak of ordinary light. It must be a piercing, stunning light that can shine through the thickest Shadow Steel. The suns themselves shine it, and no creature great or small can long abide in it. You know of what I speak, Kirito. You were briefed on the research." ((Gwen is referring to UV-Gamma light))
"Diablo is certainly immune to ordinary light, or he could not live long in the world. But he cannot long withstand the invisible light of the stars." She gestured to Arkus's shield, the Crest of Almire. "This shield already emits it, and is thus able to repel even the strongest darkness. The rest of you do not have this ability. Allow me." She got up, cupped her hands as if summoning an energy ball, and touched everyone's shields. "Do not shine it on others for long, because it may harm them, too. Such is its strength." She then sat down and drew her pipe. She offered one to Kirito in a display of goodwill. She continued. "I do not believe that only the Uranus Queen can defeat Diablo. I recall the fight; he was defeated by a piercing blade imbued with the light of the sun. The Uranus Queen is undoubtedly a skilled swordsman and unusually durable, but such qualities do not make her uniquely suited to fighting Diablo. If the knights were equipped with weapons like the ones she wielded, then they, too, could defeat the enemy."
She lit Kirito's pipe before lighting hers. "Diablo uses a myriad of debilitating shadow-based attacks. Your shields should now be able to deflect them with ease, just like the Queen's shield. However, he is very strong, and can shatter any shield not properly equipped to withstand massive impacts. I cannot help with that, so you must rely on your evasion skills. Like most humanoids, his limbs are his weakest points, and are the least armored. His swordsmanship is impressive, but from what I've seen, they are hardly superior to those of of many knights. In fact, his may be inferior, if any of you have sparred with one another in the Coliseum."
She then realized that she had left Theo behind. "I must depart briefly. Lord willing, I shall return." She teleported back to where she had left Theo.
Kirito
Gwen turned to me, "My dear Kirito, I don't speak of ordinary light. It must be a piercing, stunning light that can shine through the thickest Shadow Steel. The suns themselves shine it, and no creature great or small can long abide in it. You know of what I speak, Kirito. You were briefed on the research, remember?" I nodded. It was true. Gwen continued, "Diablo is certainly immune to ordinary light, or he could not live long in the world. But he cannot long withstand the invisible light of the stars." She gestured to one Isoran's shield, a Crest of Almire. "This shield already emits it, and is thus able to repel even the strongest darkness. The rest of you do not have this ability. Allow me." She got up, cupped her hands as if summoning an energy ball, and touched everyone's shields, including my dark shield bracelet. Gwen lingered on me for a second and touched my chest, dispelling all the darkness inside of me. I felt the evil in me being purged and smiled as i saw myself: i was in my original, pure form. I no longer felt malice, only the valor i had once had when i was on the Council. I smiled and whispered a thank you, and Gwen nodded. "Do not shine it on others for long, because it may harm them, too. Such is its strength." She then sat down and drew her pipe. She offered one to me, and i gratefully took it. Gwen continued.
I shrugged. "That is true..." Gwen graciously lit my pipe and continued. In fact, his may be inferior, if any of you have sparred with one another in the Coliseum." A sigh escaped from my mouth. "It's true, as much as i hate to admit, maybe even Diablo is not as skilled a swordsman as some Isorans. If we fought on a purely physical level, we would easily defeat him. But we do not fight on a physical plane alone. I have experienced his tricks, and so have you Gwen." I turned to the others in our party. "His telepathy powers are some of the most developed in the universe. To say he is skilled is an understatement. I have witnessed him bring entire nations to their knees with his telekinesis. Throw in his immensely powerful shadow energy, and no matter how strong our shields are, he can still break through them with ease. I'm still not completely sure that all of us combined could defeat him." I heard the newly changed Uranus Queen mutter "Killjoy..." As she scooted closer to one of the Isorans, probably her boyfriend.
Gwen suddenly stood up. "I must depart briefly. Lord willing, I shall return." She vanished into a wisp of white light.
I sighed. "Whatever." Turning back to the others, i said, "I know exactly where Diablo went. It'll take him a while to absorb the amount of energy he'll find there, so... We'll be safe. At least for a week or two. Until then, let's enjoy the calm before the storm.
I smiled, the first genuine, good-natured smile i had smiled in a long time.
(Seatus)
"You can tell me later, okay? I need to go." I went to the waters and, knowing the other weren't looking at me, I jumped into the water. I saw my reflection in front of me. A voice appears within my head, Sector?
Sector 3
I step down the steps in an air bubble as the opening behind me closes off the stairs. I walk until I am greeted with bright light. A dark castle lays before me, purple energy glistening off of it's stones. I blast open the doors with the force of a whirl of spikes, and am greated with ten Trojans. I needle them in the back, one after the other, before they can react. They all fall to their knees before turning to stone. I enter the Great Hall, and see two Black Kats before me.
Carnavons are instantly summoned, and attack me. I strike each one down, and slam my fists together and point my arms at one of the Black Kats. A storm of spikes retreat from my coat and end the unlucky Kat. I turn to the other, and end it likewise. I move on to the Throne Room, and floating by its hand on a chandelier is a beautiful Element Dagger. It has the build of a Dread Venom Striker, but a rich red, light blue, and brightened blue decorate its gray surface in slight blurs or smudges. The same colorful aura floats about it, and I am just about to fly up and get it when I see the same beast, growling at me. My wings glow blood red, and I am instantaneously up by the chandelier, grabbing the blade.
The Beast roars, but I roar louder, and fly down the halls, the Beast in pursuit. It had awakened from it's slumber, and now wanted my blood to get it out of it's prisons. I fly out to the stairway, and it bites off a chunk of my leg. I scream as I sail into the stairway, Sealing it behind me. Because of the short ceiling, I am forced to limp until I reach the waters. Then I jump out, and bleed on the ground before Sanctuary heals up my leg. I hold the Dagger tightly. Thank the Gods I found it. "Time for the Second Hero," I murmur, and holler out, "Trivoc!"
((The Ancient Blade's shield can stop him, it's about as old as him. And now Vin has it :D Yay))
Why do we keep undermining each other in posts, it gets REALLY confusing.
(@Archemiday: Well, even so, It would be rather awkward. I'm a boy, and I'm roleplaying as a girl. So. . . Just a light relation.)
"What happened?" Can I tell him the truth? I'm not sure. . .
(Lol, never edited this, I usually like having a post about 2-3 paragraphs long.)
"Oi, C (seatus)," Vin called to Seatus as he pulled out the ancient blade, "I'm godless. I don't think I feel like believing in that shmancy-fancy stuff. Sorry."
He strokes his hand along the blade, contemplating about something.
"But still, I might use this blade for your sake. For the sake of an old friend, that is," Vin continues. He then channels a massive charge of pent-up heat into the blade, changing its once ancient features into something even more primordial. If he continued with the change (provided Seatus has the consent), it would become something like a mix of a Sealed Sword and a Barbarous Thorn Blade. No telling what might happen, though.
((@liminori true. I need to stop writing at late times. ))
((Only 10 posts since I left. That's an all-time low! :0. (Yet ironically, this is one of my longest posts XD)))
Trivoc
Gwen turned to him to answer his question.
Yes, I know him. He formed the White Council many aeons ago, and is a superior swordsman. But he became conceited, and tried to overtake the council and, thereby, the universe. He rallied a rebellion against the council to that end, but foolishly agreed to single combat, where he was narrowly defeated by the Uranus Queen. That will no longer be possible. He has had ages to plot his revenge, and is undoubtedly stronger now. No one being can destroy him. But together, we may be able to defeat him." She said, then turning to everyone in the group.
"This young woman..." She said, pointing to Dagoon. "...has come closer to defeating the enemy than any one of us, even Seatus or myself. To whom can we credit the destruction of Seatus's father, the great Snarbolax?" Gwen finished.
[I have to admit, she can definitely give inspirational speeches] Trivoc mentally commented.
"But we can't do it by brute strength alone, right? I mean, we needed a bell to defeat the Snarbolax, water to defeat Vanaduke, and rockets to defeat the Roarmulus Twins. What do we need to defeat Diablo?" Arkus asked as he shouldered his massive blade.
"I don't know, Arkus. Shadow beings hate the light, and cannot stand to stay in its presence. I reckon Diablo's stay here in the Sanctuary has already been debilitating to him. If one were to shine light in his eyes..." Gwen replied, her voice trailing off.
"...then he would be stunned, right? Supposing we tried to shine light into Diablo's face. The light would kinda go to his head and stun him, right? He may be kinda like an overpowered Snarbolax - stun him, and he becomes vulnerable. What do you think?" Arkus asked t both Gwen and the squad.
Euclid was the first to reply. "Well, we know about the Snarbolax, and Vanaduke, but we have no idea about this "Roarmulus" thing you speak of. Still... I'm inclined to agree with you. Everything has a weakness." The Squad leader said. "I guess whoever created this universe did one thing right by making everything have a weakness." Rulen joked.
Just as they were speaking however, a new yet familiar voice spoke, "That would be her." The male voice said. Trivoc turned around and saw The Fallen Valkyrie King standing behind Ikaros, pointing at her. Trivoc had already drawn his Peacemaker, but The King Valkyrie held up his hands as a sign of neutrality. "Why are you here?" Gwen asked in a cold tone.
"Simple. I want Diablo gone. Forever. And that's in my interests, seeing as how he sealed me in the Core and left me to rot. If there's one thing you can count on, it's my hunger for vengeance." He stopped and sighed for a moment, noticing the surprised look on everyone's faces saying: [Did... He really escape the core?] "You may not believe me, but i DO want Diablo dead. And I'm sorry, because I am key to that plan." He continued.
The King Valkyrie then proceeded to shoot down Gwen's suggestion about using a light to defeat Diablo. He said that they needed someone called the "Uranus Queen". When they both looked at Ikaros, Trivoc knew what they were talking about.
"You are the Uranus Queen, the only one who can defeat Diablo. You are strong, but not strong enough. If you so wish, i can unlock your full potential for you. Your powers will far surpass those of Darkfire Vanaduke himself." The Valkyrie King told Ikaros. The pink-winged Knight turned to Trivoc, asking for his permission. The Isoran nodded in assent [As if she really needs my approval, if she really is a god of some sort... Trivoc ol' boy, you aim too high, in ranks and women, even if you don't mean to] He thought, making fun of himself.
At that moment, Ikaros began to be enveloped in a blinding light. Trivoc had to cover his eyes, otherwise he might've lost his vision altogether. Once the light had gone away, Ikaros was visible. Her wings were much larger than before, and she wore some sort of, very revealing [Although that might be an understatement], skintight armor leading town to her wrists and skirt, along with leggings that led up to her thighs.
Everyone was surprised by the transformation, most especially Rulen who seemed to be staring at her more "delicate" parts. Trivoc had half a mind to tell him off, but he couldn't really blame the guy, since he did the same thing at first, even though he looked away almost immediately, out of embarrassment. Parma however, went up to Rulen, nudged him, and gave him a look. To which the bomber grinned in an embarrassed manner and shrugged.
The Valkyrie King then asked Ikaros to kneel, and the Valkyries cheered. "All hail Ikaros Alpha, the Uranus Queen!" They shouted.
After the ceremony, Gwen approached The Valkyrie King and spoke about something, after which she began to imbue their shields with a brilliant, white light."Do not shine it on others for long, because it may harm them, too. Such is its strength." Gwen cautioned. Trivoc examined his Aegis. The front of the shield emitted a powerful light, and he felt his eyes hurting the longer he stared at it. He put the shield away, seeing as there wasn't any immediate danger.
"It's true, as much as i hate to admit, maybe even Diablo is not as skilled a swordsman as some Isorans. If we fought on a purely physical level, we would easily defeat him. But we do not fight on a physical plane alone. I have experienced his tricks, and so have you Gwen. His telepathy powers are some of the most developed in the universe. To say he is skilled is an understatement. I have witnessed him bring entire nations to their knees with his telekinesis. Throw in his immensely powerful shadow energy, and no matter how strong our shields are, he can still break through them with ease. I'm still not completely sure that all of us combined could defeat him." The Valkyrie King (no longer a Fallen One) said, referring to Gwen's "Light Blessing".
"Killjoy..." Ikaros muttered as she scooted closer to Trivoc. Despite their relation, he felt a little flustered, probably because of the very revealing armor, which he was trying hard not to look at.
"I must depart briefly. Lord willing, I shall return."Gwen said, disappearing into a wisp of light. The King Valkyrie turned to look at them. "I know exactly where Diablo went. It'll take him a while to absorb the amount of energy he'll find there, so... We'll be safe. At least for a week or two. Until then, let's enjoy the calm before the storm." He said.
Euclid approached the King Valkyrie and spoke to him. "I have to admit, you took a lot less time than we did, trying to get out of The Core." The squad leader said. He then extended his hand. "My name is Euclid, Vanguard, and leader of Alpha Squad. who do I have the pleasure of addressing?" He asked.
Trivoc looked to his side and saw Ikaros still standing there, as if waiting for him to say something. His mind was in a bit of a whirl, but he managed to gather his thoughts, and spoke in an exaggeratedly formal voice (a voice he used during ceremonies in the Hall Of Heroes). "I hope her majesty will still deign to speak with such a lowly servant, such as myself." He said, trying to play on the fact that she still hadn't spoken to him. Ikaros giggled, covering her mouth with her hand.
She then spoke in a formal voice as well. "As the Uranus Queen, I must treat all my subjects equally, and without obvious bias." She said.
Trivoc smiled and opened his mouth to speak, but he was interrupted by a voice. "Trivoc!" it shouted. The Knight looked away and tried to find the source of the sound.
((So... who's the guy that came rushing in? Was it Seatus? I thought he was having a conversation with Vin.))
((But I suppose it could handle a morph to make it more....suitable. The Luminites were wonderful genuises. I only ask that you keep it partially how it is, with it's mossy metal. It could probably merge with any weapon successfully, so you could even have it wrap around your BTB without too much drag in fighting, probably the same swinging style as the Fang of Vog. :P))
((First part of Post #878 explains it XD Yes it's Seatus, and he has a freaky good sword for Trivoc, it's part of his experiment against Diablo.))
(Seatus)
"Down here," I say weakly, lifting up the Dagger shakily, "got something to help you against Diablo, and protect your girlfriend over there." I nod in her direction, taking deep breaths as I try to catch my breath. I see Lily...in the sky....so peaceful...she is...falling up? I miss her so....much.....
((We have a Mars King and Uranus Queen. Is it time for The Mercury Knight? XD (The name makes some sense, seeing as Trivoc helped bring everyone together, like a messenger :)) ))
Trivoc
"Down here." the voice said in a weak tone. Trivoc looked down and saw Seatus a little ways away from them, holding up some sort of strange dagger. Trivoc ran over to the Snarbolax, lying down on the ground, and knelt next to it. "Got something to help you against Diablo, and protect your girlfriend over there." Seatus said. Trivoc took the weapon, blushed a bit at the mention of his relationship (seeing as he thought Seatus didn't know about it yet) but he had more pressing matters on hand.
The Snarbolax turned to the sky and seemed to stare vacantly at it. "Thanks. Hey... Don't go out on us like this. Just rest up and let The Sanctuary heal you." Trivoc said.
He then looked at the weapon in his hands. It seemed similar to the Striker swords, but was much more colorful, and had an aura floating about it. He stood up and tested the sword, making swinging, stabbing, and twirling motions. It was light enough to let him move faster than he did with his Vanquisher. the edge also seemed to be very sharp, and could probably cut a Gremlin hair strand, cleanly in half.
[Something tells me I'm going to like this blade. The color seems a bit too flashy though... Oh well, beggars can't be choosers] Trivoc thought.
" It's. . . it's nothing" she said as she walked over to the main group. Trivoc had a new sword, and Ikaros seemed to have a new arsenal.
"Hail Ikaros!" Do we need to prepare a mountain of mountain jelly to celebrate?
She walked by to find a rock she could use for an announcement.
well. . . looks like it's about time to get materials for Thrynn. Even the perfect time to make it, as Gwen's gone.
((I've always been a sucker for status damages))
((@Thin: yes, I think we should go down by the prophecy... And it was Cleo you mentioned right?
@Gzilla: I'm okay with it :3
@Kaijuhunter: sure! Why not? Maybe in the end there will be a last minute betrayal!
Thanatos is still in haven if you're searching for him, and Cleo is on her way to the Core!))
Thanatos finally returned to Haven, he was greeted by a 4 shots of bullet which only 2 managed to hit him- even though it did nothing to him. He looked up to see who it was, Another fool....
"I want answers, now! Why did you kill these knights, and why did you strike them down right after all they've been through?" the person shouted at Thanatos who turned his attention to the bodies of mutilated knight he ate before.
"Death takes whoever it wants, now tell me, wouldn't you also take advantages of other at their misfortune?" Thanatos spoke calmly at the stranger as he picked up a butchered arm of a Morai and nibbled it. "Aren't mortals just snacks for us? C'mon, I mean look at them! They're corrupted, hopeless and sinful! Their only salvation is death!"
The stranger showed his hatred towards him by shooting him again, he finished his whole clip but there was no reaction at all from the God of Death. Thanatos chuckled as he cleaned his mouth stained with blood with his armor,"My, I believe that was completely rude of you! Have I told you my name- oh, of course I have not, how rude of me! Well, my name is-"
"Does it look like I care, you murdered my friends and innocent people, I've been ordered to eliminate you." the stranger interrupted him, Thanatos on the other hand had a slight change in his expression.
"Friends? Disposable tools? They're both the same..." Thanatos growled at the stranger, "You think, you, a mortal could defeat me? You dare to toy with death?!"
Thanatos quickly sheathed his blade, a long white sword which had writings engraved on it. Purple runes slowly appear from his feet and he vanished and reappeared in front of the stranger and attacked him. He was surprised that he could only had a second to parry the devastating strike.
"Thanatos, my name is Thanatos... And I assure you that you should remember that name from now on..." Thanatos grinned as he flicked his fingers, the Book of Sold Fates fell to his hand and he opened it. "Axis... Ex-Morai enforcer... Too bad for you, you won't be able to witness my grand plan to unfold before your very mortal eyes... Instead, you will be witnessing me serving you as desserts..."
"We'll see about that!' Axis shouted at him as he was pushed Thanatos back with the hilt of his blade.
"It matters not who you are... DeaTH AWAitS yOu!!!"
_____________
Theo closed his eyes and sighed, when he opened it once more he found Gwen standing in front of her.
".....Thanatos... Why didn't you stop him...? He... He took my soul... And my brothers...." Theo gritted his teeth, "Gwen... I need to be stronger... So I can defeat him... Or seal him once more for the final resort...."
____________
So dark, it's so dark... Cleo whimpered as she walked deeper into the Clockworks, she waited for hours if the two would come but they didn't. Lord Vanaduke himself wasn't present, as if someone already disaptched him forever.
I need power....
Cleo stopped as she felt something emanating strongly
Power... I feel power... Cleo hummed to herself.
She smiled as a light shined at her, she looked at the amazing sight in joy and few tears dropped from her eyes.
She had found the Core.
((well, incase everyone is writing their char's fighting style, I would explain mines too because it might be easier for you guys to understand them...
Theo
Theo would go for the tactical type, he taunts and plays defensive until he could find the blind spots of his opponent. He uses an Acheron and wields it with his left hand, he relies on his speed and reflexes in battle.
-Theo would never give up in any fights and only stops when he is out of options.
-Currently he had become weaken because he terminated his contract with Thanatos.
-He is immune to Curse, fire, freeze and shock and is weak to the rest of the status ailments.
-He becomes stronger near Gwen for some reason.
Thanatos
Thanatos would rarely battle anyone unless it is necessary for him, he have 3 steps everytime he fights anyone:
1.Taunt the enemy, at this stage he wouldn't lift his blade and dodge every single attack and rarely fail at dodging attacks.
2.Insult the enemy, at this stage he wouldn't move at all and open the Book of Sold Fates and reveals personal details and mock them. The book has lists of everyone's name and information, he would be more than glad to exploit their secrets and other personal issues of his enemy.
3.Kill the enemy, at this stage he would completely block everything from his mind and focus on killing his enemy.
-He is capable of doing teleportations, with a few restrictions when fighting.
-His blade's name is Mori, it deals pure shadow damage and is capable of inflicting curse on the enemy. Mori means die in Latin.
-He would fight anyone who he think would be useful to making him stronger.
-Thanatos has a strong resistance to all status ailment but is absurdly weak to Elemental attacks.
Cleo
Cleo would go for the tank type, she charges at her enemy at great speed and wouldn't slow down at all until the threat had been eliminated. She carries her powerful axe, Labrys which had been transformed from her Weaver. Her attacks are very fast despite the heavy blade she fights with.
-Currently she still has no shield at all.
-Cleo is immune to Stun, Shock, Sleep and freeze but is weak to everything else.
-Her only weakness is when she slows down.
-Cleo is very fragile as she has no protection other than her axe.
And that's it...))
"So bright...." Cleo smiled as she walked towards the Core, "So much power..."
She stopped as she noticed a group of people cheering about something. Knights... Cleo smiled as she continued walking towards the Core. She turned her focus at few Valkryies, they were powerful... But not as powerful as herself.
She stood behind them quietly until one of the knights noticed her.
She spoke gently at them, "Hello... I am here to take that thingy's power..." Cleo giggled as she pointed at the Core.
Axis' fighting style is slick and cool. He'll only block when necessary, mostly dodging attacks, but if he gets mad he'll go berserk and unleash a lot of attacks in an absurdly short period of time. He'll use the venom annihilator to pick off enemies at long range, the poison in the shell casings can kill any mortal and only a few immortal beings can take the poison without at least getting paralysis. The sword he wields, called the viper is an extremely poisonous blade, after swarm possessions his weapons got an upgrade too, so every shot swarm poisons the victim, if only a little bit. His shield is called the elemental buckler, which looks a lot like the swiftstrike, it blocks elemental and shadow, and converts them into an energy source which he can unleash on an enemy, at this level i don't think it could hold out against, biengs like diablo's or Thanatos' full powers but it could last a while. After swarm infestation, he's only been severed from the void, still retaining his snake like looks, he'll use his teeth and claws too, which are poisonous. He's resistant to shadow and piercing but super weak to elemental once his buckler breaks.
((
The prophecy refers to the "King of Death."
Thanatos refers to himself as the "God of Death."
I have referred to Cleo as the "Queen of Life" (briefly)
Theo's vision involves Thanatos taking Gwen's power.
Thanatos is supposed to be the one to do it. However...well, just read on. ;)
@Azure-Orbit & Infernus-Dragneel: Thanks for listing your characters' abilities. You may be called upon to refer to them in any upcoming battles.

The story continues
Prophesies are like bets. They count on a future based on the present.
They judge your present course and determine where you are headed.
If the future is unclear, then they predict the most likely one.
Why are we so predictable? Why are these prophesies often right?
Are we computers, compelled to do what we were programmed?
Do we only follow our instincts, or do we reason our way through life?
They have the power to forge their own destiny outside of prophesy.
But they do not. They despise reason, and cannot see the future.
They are blind to the past, and thus doomed to repeat it.
And as all good prophets know...
The past is key to the future.
What is this creature I see before me?
Strange white-matter swarmed around Cleo, examining, touching, feeling, monitoring, and taking great interest in her. "I'm here to take the thingy's power," the creature said with a giggle. The Core laughed within itself, and decided to speak. "You are still young, my dear child, so I will not hold that against you. Understand that while you may have the ability to consume my power, it is not wise to take it. Can you support this world, my child? If you will care for it, feed it, and love it with all your might, I would gladly give you my power without contest. Show me that you are able to love without fail or condition, and I may yet pass it down to you. But if you take it forcibly, I will not be able to arrange the transfer seamlessly, and this world will fall into chaos. Choose wisely what you will do."
Back with Theo & Gwen
".....Thanatos... Why didn't you stop him...? He... He took my soul... And my brothers...." Theo gritted his teeth, "Gwen... I need to be stronger... So I can defeat him... Or seal him once more for the final resort...."
Gwen knelt next to him. "You can defeat him, Theo. Battles are not won by blade and bullet, but by mind and courage. Strengthen your mind, and nothing can withstand you." She got up and helped him to his feet.
Then they both saw a large, dark figure towering above them. Gwen recognized it immediately: Thanatos. She summoned a point of elemental energy and assumed a defensive stance. She anxiously looked at Theo with fear in her eyes.
((Gwen and Thanatos must battle for a bit before Gwen is defeated and brought to her knees.))
Just as the conversation between the swarm and Cleo finished, Axis teleported in. He had 5 gashes on his right leg, seven on his left. His left arm was mangled, and his right was in worse condition. "Thanatos..." he muttered before collapsing. The group immediately surrounded him, his wounds were severe but in the sanctuary he was safe, for now.
((Whoops, sorry about that Gzilla. I'll try to be more careful next time.))
(Seatus)
No time to question it. No time to speak of it. Only to act. I get up and shake away the rest of the pain in my leg, and run into a shadow. I reappear in the air before a powerful creature. She is one of the presences I felt within the Clockworks. I speak along after the Core is finished.
Can you hold the Vorpal Sword? Can you command it's energies to seek only the sinful, and not the innocent? Would you be our savior, or our tormentor? Will thoust slay the Dark Jabberwock that creeps in the shadows of our hearts? If you take on this Sword, you must promise me and the Great Goddess Alice that you will only use it on the sinful, the ones who have slain the innocent. You must be our savior, for if not this planet is damned. And finally, you must promise that you will show strength, wisdom, and unity, to those who are lost. Will thoust do these things, and will thou save our souls?
A glowing light surrounds my fur as I say these things.
If thou has evil intentions, you will be unable to claim this sword, and if you claim it and your heart turns dark, you will shut off our power, and the Clockworks will be Sealed, and everyone, even you, will suffer the hell it will become. Choose wisely, to be a Savior, to turn your back on this power, or to damn us all.
(Dang it, I lost this post by editing another before posting.)
Edit: Seatus slightly reminds me of belkar from Order of the Stick Can you guess who it is?
((Lol I don't have to justify myself to any of you XD Buuuut if I don't join in I will probably regret it later and act like an a****le because of my internal conflict, SO...
Seatus fights mostly with a shower of ten to twenty thorn volleys with an interval of seven seconds in between each volley. If he foghts with a sword, however, like his thorns, he will defend, attack, and push with his three attack moves. He can also summon the Eye of Sanctuary (the water) to aid him, but only in one of hi his heightened power spikes.))
I'm sure everyone knows which category Elan would fit into. Trivoc Right? XD, Just joking of course that'd be Roy, and Elan would be Archemiday.
((For lack of reaction, I will pretend that this did not occur until otherwise noted. But I do need Thanatos to encounter Theo and Gwen at some point.))
I heard a familiar voice speak to me. "You rang master?" I looked down, and saw a Morai who showed signs of Swarm possession. Yet, the creature was not under my control. How curious. "I gave orders for all the Void beings to merge with me, but you are clearly not connected to the Void." I sensed chaos occurring in Haven. One of my minions reported an invisible essence consuming the knights before it was itself consumed. Heh heh...whatever ate it made a big mistake. How...very...interesting! Is it?...it is!...I have infected a dark spirit! Its name is...Thanatos. That's a familiar name. I will observe this creature before fully consuming it.
Almost immediately, I feel a great hunger that I did not previously have for living souls. I must attribute it to the newly-infected spirit. I deduce that Haven is in trouble. "Axis, quickly head back to Haven. You must engage the dark spirit you find there. Do not let it consume you."
