Hi guys, Drarken here. Me and my friend have this popularity contest going on, and he was just incredulous at how much I am loved in the SK community. Now the best and simplest way to prove this, of course, is to start a random thread just to show him how many replies I get in a week!

So without further ado, please post your most memorable moment in SK along with your IGN. Love you too!

Ahh...i've had so many good memories with this game, some being extremely funny memories, while some have been devastating...

But the one memory that i really remembered, was my FIRST Shadow lair run.
I was looking to craft my first 5 * Armor piece, but i was torn between Skolver Suit or the Vog Cub suit, but to my astoundment, one of my friends kindly invited me to partake in his Shadow lair run, free of charge. I happily obliged but warned him i would not be much help.. due to my only 5 stars were The Rocket hammer and the Dark Retribution.
The run started, everything went...Well smooth for everyone, Bumpy as heck for me. I died at every Battle room, which kinda brought down my spirits to the point where i thought that i wasn't going to make it.
After a few floors of that, Rabid snarbolaxes came up. Everyone getting ready for the intense fight ahead of us, we begun the battle...
Whatever we did, came up fruitless, The Silkwings seemed to come faster and faster, as they quickly made all our work go to ruin that has been done upon the Rabid Snarbs.
Then came the big problem.
One of our members was forced to leave due to Family Matters, so thats bad, He was the ONLY ONE with health left too, everyone didnt have the energy to revive any longer, and eventually...
We fell apart...
I was torn for a good long while knowing that it was foolish to get my hopes up on Having a Snarbolax coat being my first 5 star Armor, then eventually i decided to craft the Vog cub. Out of disappointment.

But i WAS able to craft the Coat longer after that happened. So i now have 1/2 of the Snarb Armor set ;)
And thats my moment! Or Short story rather...

MY most memorable memory in SK would have to be my first ever Firestorm Citadel run. This was way before there were missions, the Seerus package, or any of those main promos. I remember being invited by a friend to it. Ironically, he was the one person who was able to help me when I first created my character. The training grounds (where all knights started off), was bugged, and I was literally repeating the same level over and over xD

Anyway, during my first FSC run (I was using a NIGHTBLADE, miracle hood, dusker cap, and proto shield), I was basically dodging enemies and trying to help my teamates by shield bumping enemies into their charge attacks. But when we got to the boss, the most hilarious thing happened. My teammates had gotten the boss down to very low health, but were all dead. I watered vana, then ran up to him and slapped him once with my nightblade... and he died xD

That was rather hilarious, and my teammates all took screenshots to always remember that moment.

*Good luck with college and work, Serothphi. The SK community will miss you.*

What can i say...i've been playing since jun 2011.
My most memorable exp was back in sept 2011 when i beat for the 1st time the duke...i still remember that was some pain in the @ss.
I've died a billion times xd...but i was with some skilled friends and we won in final.
But my 1st memory was with snarby of course...not very happy though xd. That's why i didn't mention it.
That son of a..wolf killed me 10 times and i had to spend lot of CE back then.
But it was ok..in 2011 100CE = 4k
( ..I'm happy for you (: for your realisations. 2 days ago i was accepted to college too.. good luck.)

My most memorable memory in Spiral Knights is when I was 2 star and I entered snarabolax. God it was hard for me I kept dying in every room and I didnt know what mist was so I spammed that revive button until eventually I got kicked at the boss floor :(
So I was left on my own with a brandish to kill the boss, and it was HARD. My shield broke every time he attacked me and I was out of mist. But after an hour of dodging and raging I finally managed to kill him BUT THEN I DID SOMETHING STUPID!
After he died I saw the big boss tokens so I ran to get it, but instead of going around the thorn bush I RAN INTO IT AND I DIED! xD

When I realized my stupidity I went mad because I couldn't revive AND RAGE QUIT THE GAME.

I didn't play for a week after that xD

That's my memory ^^ But at least now I can solo the boss.

Good luck with your college work and job, Serothphi, and I hope you have a successful life :D

My most memorable SK experience was when the Snarbolax had just been released, and me and some of my friends were going on a run - each of us had never done it before and we weren't very skilled. Many misadventures were had and we died quite often since most of us were using calibur's charge. We managed to take Snarby down without having to use any energy revives.

Anyways, it's always sad when a veteran leaves, but best wishes to you in the real world!

Hello! My most memorable moment in SK would have to be way before I could even do jelly king. I had just found out about the 'join' feature and I tried it of a 5* Friend I had. And it worked. I ended up in the second floor of FSC. But the best part. The second I joined my friend found a firo driver (4* Gun) in a prize box and Since I was in the floor I got it! Can you believe it! Not even a soldier rank and I had a 4* gun :D. There's been other moments that have been cool but none as memorable as this.

My most memorable moment, restored my faith in humanity.

Once upon a time, I was really fond of LD (Note that I didnt even have shiny vh and max stuff). I played the game just for LD, wasted all my mist in revives, got some good bombheads and friends, and also enemies, lots of enemies. I always enjoyed it, till I saw the corrupted part of the LD community. The corrupted ones, coded to poison innocent players...Teached them to immediately shout and swear at the other innocent players which have stereotypical "noob" weapons, so they can spread the infection. Amount of corrupted players increased by time, and rendered LD unplayable + stressful. I always see people telling that I suck, even though I was the only one who kicked their max asi arses. Even spectators sweared and shouted at me. I even have a huge rage and swear collection in a folder. Anyway, while I was forced to play with corrupted ones on another day, I saw him/her, he was never affected from the corruption, he was the cleanest one. I never saw someone that respectful in LD, he never used shaming emotions, never qualified players by their gear/AA usage status, and congratulated people who bested him in a fair fight, even though everyone else was being quite scumbag to him. At the end of the match, while everyone telling me that I suck, he told everyone to shut up, then said "I see you are a good player, dont let those suckers affect your gameplay". I thanked to him and never saw him again. Yeah, it maybe looks like another useless LD story, but it matters a lot for me. Hope more people like him would appear and fix the corrupt ones...

My most memorable SK-memory would be getting an invite to UFSC with 3 Cloud Nine members, I got to meet the most awesome player ever. This was shortly after SL came and we crushed the enemies like punching bags. I'd like to think it was more lucky than any UV gotten from punch or craft. If you know which player i'm talking about, then you probably agree with me.

Hard to say which moment gave the best experience, since game has a lot of sides. And I think that most wonderful is how we see and feel eachother thru this SK's prism. Almost everyday is a best moment, because I see friends from the whole world I met here, they runs around me and spinnin, making my day better :>

My most memorable experience would probably be my first attempt at the Heart or Ice danger mission. I was never good at fighting fiends, so i tried to stay back and let my guildies distract the greavers. I still ended up dying quite a bit though, and the only thing that kept me from raging was the awkward, but still funny guild chat. Eventually, once we got to the room with the howlizters and ice traps, everyone kept dying and it was up to the point where there was practically only one guy trying to dodge the attacks. My guildy eventually got to me and revived me, but this trojan just rams into me and my dead body flies towards to the top of the room. Someone had to energy rev at that point, but then we realized that my dead body and my guildies bodies formed this little cell around another trojan. The other way out was blocked by another trojan, and the path was too narrow to get around it, so we waited the whole 3 minutes for someone to revive. Eventually, my guildies decide to revive this one guy, and he disconnects right after we waste our ce reving him. He never did reconnect ;-;. It was okay though, because I was offered a free shadow lair ufsc run on that same day.

Hey.
My best moment was when I first entered the Arcade and I knew that this would be my game, the artwork - fantastic, the game play - awesome.
My first danger mission was such good fun, I thought I would be really cool and I told my whole guild that I could do it in proto. That went down well, wasted a few 100ce but It was fun none the less. Then I got taught all the tactics by a good friend, where trojans spawned in FSC, how to attack properly, to go left or right on D26. That was a great time, for once I could actually do FSC without dying every 10 seconds.
Then missions came and ruined all my hopes and dreams.
And gl in your travels. - (That stuff would really help as I'm F2P ;)

My most memorable moment

I was on a RJP run and I was on the second floor with four others. When we got all keys I said we shouldn't put the last key in the gate because if you bring it down the elevator it will open a secret area in the boss room. Surprisingly they believed me and I was laughing so hard I died like 5 times in the last area of the second floor. When we finally finished the floor we brought the key down in the elevator. It was really funny when they found out I was kidding them and would've kicked me if they were the party leaders. But then something unexpected happened and the royal jelly knocked me of the map. I was so amazed that my plan backfired on me. But in the end a GM came and saved the day.

That's my most memorable moment.

my most memorable memory was when i first went into T2 LD i was the most noob player in all the games everyone always beat me azorldria , vatonage , rdzknight, spiral-hipster , stane, etc but i kept pushing myself to become better and better and a few months later i became one of the best T2 LD players out there but along the path new players started to come by T2 LD players started to come by and some were tough but there was this paticular player that always defeated me and i just couldn't stand it so one day when we were in the same match i demanded him a 1v1 . He came to the middle base and so did i and as soon as i announced our 1V1 every single person in the match gathered around to watch and not even the 2* players interfered the refere counted down from 3 , 3 ! 2, 1 ! And we both charged at each other with all our might i went right he went left , i went up he went down , i shot my gun he shot hes it was a battle for the history books and i got the first couple hits and then he did and when we both reached our lowest health i took out my sword and charged at him as he took out hes gun and charged at me . WE both hit each other at the same time and the ultimate battle became a tie and everyone watching was amazed and the spectators clapped for both of us . This strong player was very hard to beat and very confident , and after that match we became best friends .

One time I beat a trojan and an indefinite number of wolvers (via monster boxes that respawned) with nothing but sentenza and venom veiler in a danger room. That was really fun. Another time I went through T1 with some new players and then gave them wrench wands and brought them to T2. That was great. And then me and Snorla attack people with polaris and wrench wand and shivermist buster. Another time, we did shard bombs only ice queen. So many lovely things have I done.

My memorable moment was a few years ago, when I saw my very first love puppy in the top left room of red carpet runaround, 3rd wave, top right puppy.

However, the memorable moment doesn't end here.

Not too long ago, during a Royal Jelly run for fun, we went into that room, and I was amazed when a love puppy spawned in the EXACT same location as my first ever love puppy. Oh, the memories returned, and I thought, "I've come so far, back then i was, admittedly, a noob, with only 2* gear, but now I'm 5*". As you may expect, I was overjoyed.

If I do win a prize, I would prefer the energy, but I doubt I will win anything.

Then I met someone from Impervious. They listened to my problems and then promptly gave me the 3* armor and a few crowns. I was like O.O but pretty happy. I thanked him and after a bit, we went our ways. I kept his name on a page of my notebook and when I achieved 5* I sent him 100k cr as a thank you... reminding him that I was the 2* player he helped out. The Life & Times of PAINTOOL - Updated*

My IGN is Paintool.

The Story I'm about to tell you is 100% of Science Fact. This story was so incredible, I attempted to brave it a second time.
It was a time when CE cost a whopping arm and legs of 8500 crowns. It was a time elevators still guzzled as much energy as the time I took to expedite this mission...

This story is about one man... who dared to do the entire Firestorm Citadel (Vanaduke and all) with proto armor and weapons.
Yes, my friends, the story is absolutely 100% true. ( I failed at depth 27, give me some credit)
I took screen shots of the entire voyage to hell that lasted 5 hours, and I will recount to you the precise events of August 3rd, 2012.
[P.S. 4* master blaster was used only for wheel launchers]

Depth 24
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=87145307

I was even thinking about doing this in the first place. I actually came in from Haven with proto armor because I forgot to put on my other gear.
At first it struck me as, "Gee what if I beat FSC in proto armor and weapons? How long would that take? I'd be a legend!" Sure it seemed easy enough: monsters have lower health, but one swipe of zombie's arm... one wayward pinch of splinter wheels from a wheel launcher... and I'd be sent to my nooblet grave and kingdom come.

As it turns out, while proto sword has the highest DPS of the three proto weapons, but the proto bomb with it's stun status and area of effect covered more damage per area and proved most useful. I guarantee you though it took nearly 5 minutes to kill zombies by themselves with just the bomb. Being the strategic time saver I am, I let the wheel launchers take care of most of the monsters in the first 3 sections of depth 24. "BUT PAINTOOL THAT'S NOT FULL PROTO WEAPON FSC"

The last arena of depth 24 has no wheel launchers. None period. No cheating out of this one.
The first Screenshot is my evidence of the situation.
[Mind you, it's hard to take screen shots in FSC during the battle in proto armor; one slipped up second could cost everything]

Depth 25
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=87145320

I think i had to revive once in here, which probably explains why I'm missing 9 mist energy.
Depth 25 takes everyone forever, more so by themselves
Knowing I only had to pick 6 rooms to complete, I decided to skip the rocket room in top right and the Grim Totem Room in lower left.

It's really hard to complete some of the rooms once the walls get clogged up with slags. I had to let the Trojans do some of the heavy work with their attacks to clear up the clutter. It took me a long time needless to say.
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=87145341

Depth 26

I forgot to take screenshots of this one... After 2 grueling depths, it felt like ages had passed. Would I ever complete this pointless task? There is no reward for defying nature. I had to grab some lunch and mull over the day's events. FSC really felt like the grind fest people love to hate. And yet I became fully taken in by it. If people spent as much time actually living in FSC like they do with Haven, they would probaly get attached to it as well. As an artist, I began to imagine what FSC would be like if it were clean or beautiful. It's a silly thought really, but I couldn't help myself but get attached to the place and appreciate what work the developers did to make the game.

Depth 27
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=87145332
This is the end of my journey. Despite all my best efforts and patience I failed in the first arena. It's strange thinking back how desperate I got. Even though I promised myself it would be a full proto weapon, I was afraid I'd fail myself. I decided to try to solo the first arena with my better gun...

But weapons don't make a better player. After the second hit, I was down for the count, and revving would have been pointless.

What did I learn from playing Spiral Knights on one of the most inane challenges ever? Probably nothing.
But I did learn one thing, which i attest to today. With enough patience, you can do almost anything; you just have to push the limits the entire time.
I didn't make it to Vana, but I made it the 4th floor all the same in proto armor and weapons.

After the failed FSC run, I felt a bitter satisfaction... "So close and yet so far..."
Even though failed that mission I've been trying to push the limits of the game further as much as I can.

In conclusion and a parting note, I decided to become an adoptive father of a Yesman.
The secret about how to get yesman to follow you is hidden with me alone.
If you ever decide to push limits, you too can share the bitter happiness I have.

Good luck with your next phase!

Hi Serothphi,

I enjoy playing SK as one of the few pure bombers that roams around the Clockworks. After spending quite some time in SK, i got many memorably SK moments here.

But when i think about it, what does these moment makes it memorable? Why do i keep playing this, while there is no new content? Why is one experience more memorable than the other, while we spend many hours on the same content?

Besides these question, you see also lots or people complaining about everything there is in SK, but they are still here. So when you think about it, everybody's answer should be: most memorable SK experience is meeting the SK community and being part of this community!

Without this community everybody would have stopped playing SK already. Remember those single player games? Who plays that same content over and over and over again? It is because you meet and join other people, you start playing the same content and that gives another experience.

Another example of this great community is for example being invited for a SL run, because your skill would have a great addition to the team. If you were in a single player game and a Non-Playing Character invites you because he needs you... you don't get the same feeling.
Or when somebody gives you 1000 ce without expecting something back... when a NCP gives you that in a single player game.. you don't get the same feeling.

So my most memorable SK experience is having the moment of meeting this great SK community, that keeps me playing this game over and over again.

Regards,

Mister-Reboot

Most memorable moment was the first time I freeze-locked 3 people at a time. I took a screen shot which is my screen saver to this day. I remember sitting there laughing like a hyena with a mental disorder for two minutes as my team mates captured the other two points and protected me from the one unfrozen enemy. We won because of it and it was one of very few times where I have gotten true team work out of my team. Right before the end of the game the unfrozen guy kilo-spammed me to death though still a very much enjoyable game for me at least.

Reading your post I remembered many good, but also bad experiences and also some I am not even able to categorize, however there was one moment which was kinda burned in my mind....

As easy as it may sound, my first few seconds playing this game... I saw it on the Steam start page and it looked quite interesting. Entering the page and seeing some pictures I thought 'why not?' and this moment when I had created my character and started to slash some bushes, this moment made me play this game until today. And even when this update might give us bad news I think this is a game I will keep playing for a long time. Not only this game, I stopped playing it a lot of times and will do so in future, but until today I came back to it every time...

However there are (of course) some other memorable moments for me, which I would pretty much like to write down here: Beating the Snarby (still my favourite enemy in Spiral Knights), the Royal Jelly, the Twins and finally Lord Vanaduke; joining my first guild; Getting the first 5* Gear and much more, but this would take a long time to write down here..

I wish you - and all the others leaving the game - good luck.

My most memorable moment in spiral knights was when I first met masterboss and amosso. Those 2 EU players are very nice guys, and incredible PvE players. When I first met them, they were bringing me into FSC for the first time. I only had a silversix and it was hilarious to play with them. The run was successful (although it took an hour) and we became really close friends. Every day we would get to d23 basil and invite each other for a FSC run. I learned alot from them and became a good PvP player. Sadly, they both grew tired of the game and had to deal with life more, and they are now both inactive. I still see Amosso doing PvP sometimes and I hop in. Those two kept me playing this game till I got complete 5* armor, and I thank them for making this game better for me ^_^

This is my story.

In the past when I'm just a 2* noobie, players call me noobie or noob Kao but I tend to ignore them because I know "Hey,everyone is a noob once right? So what's the point of calling other noobs?" And my only achievement was to kill that fat jelly in the arcade(back when mission wasn't here yet) but whenever I join a party, they tend to kick me halfway or when we're on the second depth of rjp and came with a whisper "You are too noob, you deserved this".
--------------------------
Though,I never that anything serious because I always dream..that ill able to solo that fat jelly one day.Days by days,I train hard in the training hall when my mist ran out(waste on reviving myself millions time on the first depth of fat jelly gate).
--------------------------
I remember the time when I went to that fat jelly gate with two voggie and they asked a question,
"Did you had a shadow sword?"
I replied "What is a shadow sword?Could you before specific?"..
They straight away kick me outa party and call me a noob. :(
--------------------------
However,I tried to get out of that "noob" term and turn it into "pro" term.
I quitted the game for months and something hit me back(more update) so I came back and met this guy(Sorb),though I call him sorbie. When I first met him,I thought he will treat me like others did to me(call me a noob) but no,he didn't but instead he reached me a lot of things.
He's actually my first teacher/friend that I met in game,he teached me a lot of stuff and I join his guild while he's guild happen to had a promotion test(oh,gosh!).The task is to kill that fat jelly in a solo run with an officer or gm :( I told him I wouldn't never get promoted but he told me its ok,practice makes perfect right? I smile at him :).
-------------------------
After several months of training,I finally manage to solo up to the first two depths with a few death.
I told sorb that I was ready for the test and we went for it,I'm still afraid of those death but I manage to get through the entire run without a single death and I was stun......for a few minutes...I can't believe my eyes...I did it with just wolves and a calibur.
--------------------------
Though,I met a few more friends in that guild that do daily fat jelly run with me :D,I hope they're still around though but I couldn't find any of them anymore. :(

~Nowdays I could easily solo fat jelly in mission mode with a party of four(newbie/pro) as a dusket with a fireburst, but I never call any one noobs or weak because I knew how they'll feel being up set~

And this is how the most famous jelly king killer is borned. :)

~I still farming jelly king this days,solo/partym helping guildies and they gave me a nick call jk killer~

Great friends

:) it was a vana run like any other, as we were making our way up to the start of FSC a player joined in proto gear with a DA. The whole party started talking, and he told us he was doing a challenge from his guild. I thought he seemed cool, so I gave him a pill and wished him luck. I found out later that he had failed it (heh) but he added me, I accepted. We skyped once.... and 2 years later here we are, 2 awesome friends that came back to SK after so long. We've created a guild and it's growing exponentially. :) I'll always enjoy this game for that 1 reason

Sorry for the off-topic, but...

@Redblades:

You know Embee and Mosso?! Never knew that! Boss still plays from time to time, and Amosso logs in to play some LD too. And yeah, they are dayuum skilled in PvE. :P

My best moment in SK

My most memorable moment in SK was probably the time I met a little group of people that I started to talk with. At the time I had my Ash Tail set and was petty much a solo player, not having someone to play and talk with. We became friends and where hanging out in Haven, pushing Snipes in the Garden, doing runs together and generally having a great time. But I and the group did split up after this amazing time (it was mostly my fault, we had some arguments and I just stopped talking to them). I lost interest in the game almost immediately after that and didn't touch it for a few months. Now I'm playing the game from time to time, chatting with people, helping new players all that good stuff and I do have a great time, I even convinced a friend to play with me and right now I'm helping him to get to T3.

EDIT: My In-Game Name is: Rumaster

My first, memorable, enticing moment throughout Spiral Knights was when I had reached Haven.

I remember the time when I had walked around, and seen so many players with shiny gear (or dark Snarbolax gear) - I'd just stand around them, gaping at them. But that's not the reason why it was memorable. The second I walked into Haven, I had gotten a guild invite to "Fantasy Arcade" if I recall, and since I started back in September 2011, lots of things were different, like there was no Garrison, and how the CE prices were much cheaper. I also was SO SO interested in the arsenal and crafting when I reached Haven. Since you couldn't preview weapons in 2011, I really wondered how the weapons would look like. And did I mention how I just LOVED the Arcade? Gosh, my first time going down in the Arcade with random players was really fun. I also was introduced into Lockdown. In Tier 2 Lockdown, I saw the ★★★☆☆ weapons and gear being seen, mainly the Swift Flourish and Twisted Snarble Barb. I was just gaping at how much power those weapons had. My mentors were Fancystar, Maydiee, Moziac, Skullerdan, and lots of players from Lockdown Loons and Order Of Venus.

My memorable moment point is, as soon as I reached Haven and discovered what OOO really created the potential of Spiral Knights for, I had discovered all of Haven's contents with much great interest and eagerness to play Spiral Knights perhaps for the rest of my life (obviously not true).

Most Memorable?

I'd have to say my most memorable moment in Spiral Knights would have to be back before snarby was added...first time I made it to RJP, died so fast it was shocking xD

I remember...

IGN: Edolas.

I think my most memorable moment was when I beat my 1st Shadow Lair and achieved my Heavenly Iron.
But that's just one of a whole bunch of memories, like Joining my 1st Guild, Beating my 1st Boss, becoming Vanguard.
And having a justified one-sided conversation with a snipe on an AFK Player's hat.

My most memorable experience, is, the past. Going back all the way before dashing and bashing, before devilite nerfing, before the UI change, when things, were, different.
