I've been playing T2 LD for a long time now, so I have plenty of good memories of funny shenanigans or intense matches. However, my favorite memory, was easily the 3 man shard blitz we had before the update. Because it was T2, and not T3, I rarely saw bombers around. Mainly because at that time, T2
was A LOT more competitive, and thus bombing was a lot harder. But this match I just so happened to see not one, but two other shard bombers on my team. We immediately knew what must be done. Three man Shard Blitz. The shear amount of projectiles on the screen and the amount of power we had when we were together had me laughing the entire match. We were facing a team on pretty decent wolver clones. We dominated. It was pretty awesome.

IGN: Same as here.Possibly

IGN: Same as here.

Possibly my most memorable is soloing Darkfire Citadel for the first time.

The Story:

From my screenshots i took on that day, i believe this happened on the 16th of October 2012. Now this was WAY back before i had this richy costume i have today, i had only 100-200K crowns at most of the time and i lacked weapons. I cannot remember what guild i was in at the time but i do know it wasn't Impervious, i believe i was in Skybreakers at the time. This was also the time i kept paying monthly for a Elevator Pass and before i started playing Team Fortress 2.

It all begun while i was looking for recipes from Basil at Depth 23, two more people were with me at the time. i do not remember what i was after but a guildmate of mine was after Voltaic Tempest recipe which i would glady kept a eye out for, sadly he didn't have it this time. However, then came that moment that changed my life in SK forever.

Before we were about to head back up. a person in Vog joined a party, i thought i first that he was after recipes but Basil won't sell you any if you join the Terminals directly and that he didn't know that, oh how wrong i was at that moment. Once the Vog person finished loading, he went right for the Darkfire Citadel gate and before my very eyes, he opened it.

I couldn't believe it, a random person joining a random party and opening a Shadow Lair. At first, i thought this was a very bad idea he was doing and should of made his own party with his friends or guildmates. I talked to him a bit that is he completely sure about this as it could be a waste of a Shadow Key, i didn't get a reply on the latter bit but the former, he said we should give it a go.

Before we went, i had to decide on a loadout as i had not made a loadout for Darkfire Citadel. It was hard but i came up with this set: Unheated Heavenly set, Combuster. Blitz Needle, Barbarous Thorn Blade, Argent Peacemaker and 2x Soaking Wetstone Pendants.

And so we went down the elevator, towards Vanadukes cursed citadel now taken a turn for the worse by the Swarm. So far, the run went good but the Vog guy did the unthinkable: He left after his first death by the wheel traps. This was a huge shock, now only 3 of us remained. Not long after, another one left after he died a second time from a zombie. Now it was only me and the other guy who was in Ash Tail.

We make it to the front doors of the citadel but we were caught completely off guard by the respawning Howlitzers, this resulted in the Ash Tail guy dying and me on low health. Although i somehow clear the first wave of zombies, the wave with the two Almirian Shadow Guards got me as i was pushed in a corner and died. The death counter started and now i had to think what to do.

At that moment, the Ash Tail guy left. Unbelievable, all three of them left as if they ragequitted but i didn't because i was extremely determined to clear the Shadow Lair. Now i had to make a decision: Give up and leave or try and go on by myself.

I decided to do what i have never do before: continue on by myself in a Shadow Lair, taking on those guards again. After much baiting, i get them both down without alerting the Howlitzers this time around. I go on to claim my prize but i wasn't gonna stop there yet. No, i was gonna try to do the rest of the citadel by myself. So, i went down to Charred Court.

There like in the normal citadel, the sprite was there asking for six of his friends to be saved and brought to the fountain in the middle of the court so they can bring water into the citadel to clear the shadow fire. But this court was different, i heard a lot of rumors that this version of Charred Court was easier then the normal citadel.

That turned out to be half true, some of the rooms were completely nightmarish while others were much easier then normal. Regardless, i clear the floor no problem but one thing caught me completely by surpise: The trap at the fountain.

Upon placing the six sprite at the fountain, a horde of monsters appeared, including two trojans and some alpha wolvers. However, i defeat them no problem and continue on my way, reporting my progress to my guildmates.

Now i was at the Ashen Armory, this has gone the biggest change in the citadel. The first room was as normal, only this time, the spikes were at the outer rims instead. I get killed twice in the last wave by the Almirian Shadow Guards as they pushed me into the spikes but i got back up again and again, resulting in three deaths total.

The next bit was somewhat tricky, you are now forced to do both sides as the right button has been buried in planks of wood. The rooms themselfs have gone the biggest changes, i end up nearly dying to another Almirian Shadow Guard but finished him off before he got me first. The Trojans in the second to last room were tricky to defeat, not because they were hurting me, they were half of the time on the fire traps which i feared would come on at any moment. So i lured them to the outer bits and killed them.

I clear the room with the totems no problem and head on my way, now i was almost there to Vanaduke himself as i now head down to Smoldering Steps. Somehow by pure luck, i cleared both of the battle rooms but end up nearly dying in both of them. Now my greatest challenge awaited me in the Throne Room: Lord Vanaduke himself, now known as Darkfire Vanaduke.

Due to the Swarm Seed, i had to bait Vanaduke to the outer rims of the arena so i could get Blitz Needle charges in but had to deal with the zombies first. The 2nd phase took a long time but still cleared it and damaged his mask. Vanaduke catches me completely off guard of what he summons: 4 zombies and 2 Almirian Shadow Guards.

Because of the guards, i didn't want to risk Blitz Needle charge shots so i spammed my AP at him and a mix of normal Blitz Needle shots. I get killed when he gets me in a corner but i got up again, the 4th death now. I cleared that phase but i had to kill the zombies and guards first before i could even focus on the mask which took much longer then i expected.

Now it came to the final phase, i was extremely hot, my heart was pounding, so close to my goal. After much more baiting, one of the guards got lucky and killed me in a corner, this pressed my Berserk Button. Enraged, i immediately get back up and started spamming Blitz Needle charge shots at Vanaduke, in a last ditch effort to down him. With just two charged shots, He falls.

The fight had lasted a whole hour but it was finally over, i couldn't move for a few minutes after Vanaduke fell, seeing what i have just achieved, but it wasn't over. One more challenge there was: The Unknown Passage.

Collecting my prizes, i go down to my final challenge. There the Swarm waited and sent it's endless horde of corrupted monsters at me. Holding them off long enough, the gates opened and i ran for my life. The last gates awaited me as the Swarm sends in it's most powerful units.

I get killed again, not once but twice by the slimes spamming thorns, fueling my anger even more. Finally, after a few minutes of fighting, running and dodging, the final gate opened as the monsters made one last effort to take me into the darkness of the Swarm. Ran as i did and there, hope awaited.
There it was, a lone elevator with just a blank white picture. I jump on and taken away from this dreadful darkness.

There i was, a place of hope and freedom: The Sanctuary.

Collecting my final Echo Stone and reading it's contents, i felt drawn to the place and refused to leave for a hour or so, until i finally decided to head back up and meeting my friends again. There my adventure ends, having done that very few have done: Soloing a Shadow Lair.

To this day, this was my greatest experience in Spiral Knights and i hope to find more amazing experiences like this, thank you for reading my story.

First memories with a guild!

I think the most exhilarating moment I've ever had was doing T3 OCH for the first time. I was a relative newbie, but some really kind GM allowed me into his guild, and as a "initiation", we went to OCH together.

Needless to say, the whole battle was one tough challenge. I was incredibly surprised how tough it was, but being with my guildies made me love the experience even more. Regardless of how many times I fell, or we fell, we were all there to back each other up.

I think towards the end, when were almost to Seerus, did the plan almost fail. We almost had one party TKO, I was running around spamming Pulsar charges for no reason, trying to stay alive. I don't know how I did it, but I must have managed to revive my entire party, and we pretty much de_stroyd Seerus. Like, we went all out. It was one really fun experience, not to mention having that be my first time in a guild.

TL;DR, being with your guildies is definitely the most memorable moment anyone can ever have. Sure some people like playing solo, but nothing beats fighting the monsters of the Clcockworks with your buddies and comrades.

My most memorable moment? oh man so many to choose from.

Alright here's a good one, so two of my friends and I decided to go on an ice queen run because we were bored of the whole farm vanaduke erryday system. I equipped my typical skolver loadout and two penta heart trinkets and we delved into the depths.

We wiped once or twice on the first depth and i kept wondering to myself "how am i dying so easily? its always one or two hits." well the unknown factor was that i was accidently running a shadow lair in my 3* dusker gear, yeahh.

Considering the fact that i was supposed to be the one using the Fang of Vog on Ice Queen, and was pretty much killing myself instantly with every charge, the run went pretty well. But that wasnt even the best part

When we entered the unknown passage, i figured we were all warmed up so i tossed out the suggestion of running the unknown passage in proto just for giggles. i dont regret any of the ce i poured into that passage, honestly my favorite run ever. Everything was absolutely destroying us but we did end up pulling it off in the end. only about 300 ce poorer but nonetheless, the run was completed.

Sad to see another vet quit, i've been playing since June 2011 myself, good luck in the real world mate.

Hmm

Most memorable moment eh? Hmm.. I suppose I could never forget while I was on my first shadow lair run with some guildies and I got kicked out of the game (lagfest)(no that's not the good part). When a certain (lolol) GM came to save me, she ended up spawning me in on top of the skybox (or something that was way above the ground) instead of the level. Oops

How do I pick the most memorable...

IGN: Noomad

Man, most memorable? I have lots of good memories with SK. First time beating the old Jelly King where I was the best equipped in the party was a memorable moment. He was so full of death back when he would auto heal. Gotta stack on curse and poison vials the entire run...

Or when the dark retribution first came out, with all of its OP glory. I did a run with my old guildies to JK to see how fast 4 of them would destroy it, it was hilarious! He went down so fast it was amazing.

Hmm, my most memorable moment would probably have to be the first time I completed darkfire citadel. It was such a long run, it was crazy! It took over three hours from start to finish, and I think the revives were around 100 ce per person, but we made it out of there. So exhausting, but so rewarding.

Make sure that you keep your great memories with you when you leave the game behind :D

More people quitting...

Oh, oh! I want to share my moment too!

My best memories of Spiral Knights is the community. At first, when I started playing (more than a year ago) I loved the game but was afraid of having to grind too much in order to be able to advance in the game. Oh, how wrong I was. From Snarbolax to Vanaduke, I cant remember being kicked once, or the party I was in refusing to advance only because my gear wasn't the most appropriate for the occasion. Granted, there were times we wouldn't face Vanaduke because the overall skill of the party wasn't that high, and after doing FSC some hundred times, it gets pretty easy, but at first I was expecting most of the players to be the "full 5* or kicked!!1!" type, which certainly was not the case. Every time I saw proof of that was a memorable experience.

But if I had to choose 'one' moment, it would be the first time I actually stopped to appreciate a Lichenous Lair level. The nighty horizon was so pretty, and the music is so fitting... I couldn't believe I had passed through something like that before and not noticed how beautiful it was. For the rest of the level, i would stop here and there for some time and just stand there looking at the clockworks and "stars".

My most memorable experience was having my friend as a guild master .. he was the joking type but would analyze you at the same time, a critical type or something ... lucky enough i was good enough to be in his guild as my friend ... we had good times ... mostly goofing off in haven or wrangling snipes ... i wasnt so good when we were doing runs because my cpu (chasis or whatever) was not that good for gaming ....... soo, lagging, visual distortion and bad internet connection had me stop playing for a time ... i got kicked out of hi guild and he's pretty strict so i doubt im getting back in anytime soon ... but thats nothing to be bothered with .... now i have new cpu ang running vana runs like any vanguard would .... so yeah my most memorable was a gradual long one ... a story in itself actually not a brief spark but a burning ember like sort .....

my best memory

My most memorable moment was around when i started the game. I made it a goal to solo vanaduke (i thought it was the hardest mission in the game at the time) and eventually got really good at it. I ended up doing it before hitting 5*, i believe with a 4* pulsar, ash tail cap, vog coat, glacius and a ancient plate shield. I was so happy that i did it before i even hit 5* and didnt really know what else to do after. I continued playing as normal and now have a goal to solo all the shadow lairs!

Most memorable SK Experience:

The gates to the unknown passage openned, darkness seeped through, and you could smell the decay and burning ashes from below the gears of the level. It was my first SL, with a decent party, wearing the Ancient Plate Armor, and a Mighty Triglav blade equiped in my hand. As the first button was activated, monsters of darkness dashed at us. It was hard, pushing away all of the enemies, and destroying the "seed" of evil itself, a force unknown, which was chewing out the plated armor, bit by bit. Immediatelly, after the doors openned, my party members fled and i was trying to catch up, but I was cornered, with every fiend after my head, one triglav charge cleared them out, but it was already too late, more enemies were spawning, my party was gone, it was only me left in that dark pit of despair, with a trusted blade in my hand. The ancient plate shield started to fall apart slowly, as it repelled the foes, and it lasted just enough, for me to make an escape. Running through the corridors, trying to find my way out, i was faced with danger again, fiends were coming from every side. Many times not able to deffend myself successfully, i was hit, feeling like life is slowly drained out of me, with my armor falling apart faster and faster after each hit, i made a final attempt through one corridor, seeing as i was almost dead. I was then, by chance, seen by my teammates, almost dead, with many monsters after my back. They charged up their blades, and a wave of Brandish charges and Polaris shots burned through the enemies, stopping them dead in their tracks. I survived, barely, still feeling the darkness slowing my steps. The final gate opened, and i could see the brightest light, it incinerated each and every fiend, leaving a trail of ash in their place. We did it, we reached the sanctuary. A mythical place of legend, with the hardest trip to reach it, in which many have fallen, and never seen again. The air was fresh, and the whole place felt full with life, as it was a new place, farther from all the destruction that was happening in our own world... I took the recon module in my hands, and saw as my friend hapilly crafted their Snarbolax coat, with smiles on our faces, we went up the elevator, and with a new experience, stronger and better, we reached the Haven.

- Doesn't anyone consider their first SL the most amazing thing? I do. :)

My most memorable moment was the time PVP first came out. I had just met a bunch of cool guys in the guild Reign of Chaos and they were such a friendly and kind bunch of people. When PVP came out we had made a goal to be the top players for PVP and make it to number 1 on the leaderboards before the first reset. We grinded PVP everyday and got better bit by bit and soon found ourselves rivalling other top guilds for the number 1 position. We had a mumble server and discussed strategies providing to LD and BN. It was the first time in a game that I found a group of friends that I felt like I belonged to. Eventually on the day before the reset we managed to make it to the top of the leaderboard and it was the most amazing feeling of winning I have ever experienced.

I think the most memorable memory is when I killed each boss.

Snarby: I remember having newbie armor during the early days... I was very proud killing my first boss!

Royal Jelly: This one is the most memorable, but it is absolute terrible. So everyone in the party was down and the cost for each rev is around 200 CE! Making a total 800 CE for the whole party rev. Then, Reved the whole party and everyone still manage to die again :P
I wasted so much CE for the whole run!

RT: Not much to remember. Really hated the whole thing

Vana: This was a big one! Killing Vanaduke with just 1 friend. It was really an achievement. Espacially when we reached the Core. It made me think how I've come so far. :3

My most memorable moment would be remembering the frustration of trying to roll a decent UV on a Ash of Agni,

First 10k CE nothing nothing nothing,

Then I got Fiend Very High, and another Fiend Very High Back to back!

After going through 50k CE, the best CTR UV I got was low, how unbelievable was that,

I sold the Ash of Agni and swore that I'll never never roll on any bomb ever again.

Then later that day, I got a Twilight Aura from a box, so I guess luck balances out =).

Scary in a way where you laugh immediately after, one of the most memorable moments was just recently. A few folks and I were working our way through a graveyard mission with some folks. A Phantom popped up from it's orb over the level barrier on the south side, suddenly appearing and a gigantic enemy right in the camera, 10 times the standard size. I turned tail and noped out of there when the Phantom un-glitched and returned to his normal non-gigantic appearance. Had me laughing from the sudden rush of fear.

Ahhhh... Let me see...

My most memorable memory was a bit after the guild hall trophies update arrived. My guild (In the Jelly) was painstakingly gathering all the materials and crowns needed to make 2 huge trophies and a few smaller ones. At the time my awesome guild masters, Dancinjen, Drdrj and Milkman, saw fit to let me tackle the task of keeping track of our efforts, and ultimately crafting the statues. No one has done this before, and I didn't know at the time that the process was pretty fool-proof. I remember being nervous, hoping I don't nullify all of the guild's efforts by accident. And it worked! A short time after we had an unveiling ceremony and after that I became the guild's latest Guild master.

I had many memorable experiences before and after that, but what made this so much more memorable was the confidence and trust that my fellow guild-mates had in me. I'll always remember that as one of my best moments in the game.

Good luck to everybody!

my best memories is my story

IGN : khensuu

when i started to play spiral knights, i really didn't know how to do things to be better, it was when the game was released on steam.
my goal was to do things thats people never did, and i did it... this is my story.

when i joined the spiral braves, i was only 2* and didn't know nothing about how to fight, when they told me that vanaduke is difficult, in my mind i said i will defeat him with weapon that they don't use to show them its possible for low lvl (noobs like me). i did my first T3 run solo in 2* and successfully reached strate 23 before vana, that was my first goal before.

then i became 3* and extremely strong with striker, i tried with no conviction to do vana run solo with only striker and blaster, it took me hours but i did all strate solo without dying and then did the boss too... but at the first hit of vanaduke, a falled. my second goal was to get vile striker and mega blaster.

i got them and returned to vanaduke run solo with 3* armor and vile striker and mega blaster, it was easier than before and this time again defeat vanaduke took me hours but i did it with 3* armor. at this time i was promoted to officier in the guild, a really good things for me.

then i did my first shadow lair when i was 4* with a friend in duo and successfully did it and crafted my snarbolax set, that was really epic.

then i became 5* with many help and the master decided to promote me to master because she (yes she) decided to leave the game and let me take care of her guild, really sad day :/ (i miss her).

then i became even stronger and wanted to help all noob and newbies that i meet to be 5* with some principe like respect, bravery, and courage. and i did things that not all GM can do: i offered shadow lair armor to practically all actual officier of the guild and paid all the run + shadow key + armor. i did it since i became GM and i continue do the work to make newbie and noob have some hope to as strong as i am because its possible.

thats my story, and my best memory

On one of our adventures into the clockworks we ended up in one of those deconstruction levels or whatever they're called, with the gremlins and you have to collect keys. As we were exploring we stumbled across two of those deactivated mecha-knights that you can activate with energy. Being the curious little newbies that we were and wondering what the hell these things did, we decided to activate them, and to our surprise they jumped up and started chasing us around. Absolutely convinced that they were trying to kill us we spent a good twenty minutes scared ****less running for our lives, trying to shoot them and wondering why they weren't dying XD

1. making spiral knight text art and watching people's reaction, then getting kicked from haven for spamming. OOO you fun sucker! i made my text art a year ago and might have been the first one to make these at the time.

there is a lot more, but you shall only see it in haven if you happen to catch me doing it. i dont use text art often.

2. discover glitches players dont know and not reporting it to OOO so i can abuse it for my own enjoyment.
3. people being confused about my gender.
4. spending time with a few friends online and doing runs with them whether it is jelly king, fsc or even shadow lair.
5. using this money to fund free shadow lair runs for my guild or guild hall furniture if i do win the prize.

My most memorable experience

My most memorable experience isn’t an epic run nor or acquiring of a rare item. 2 years ago, when SK was a completely new game, there was no get-out-of-jail-free dash, you either got hit or you shielded (or walked out of the way “dodged”). Back then there was no missions, we used alts as elevator passes to repeat levels we really wanted to do. The brandish line charges had a chance to proc the blasts, up to a max of 3, mostly you would hit 1/2. DA charges could go through walls. There was no polaris. No staggerstorm, venom veiler, OCH gear. There was still Active, Delicious Bacon, Team Dai Gurren, Knightmare, Reign of Chaos and such guilds (Unity and Corps Meltdown hadn’t been formed).

In my old guild Motion, there was this one person I didn’t really know, but he was heating his gear through multiple arena runs, I decided to just crash it, and join. We didn’t really talk much during the run, but we spent a solid 10+ hours doing T3 arenas runs over and over, just the two of us. After that we talked as if we were the best of friends. It was great just getting to meet someone like that in runs, something that the old arcade of SK provided. To this day I won’t forget the gruelling work we did, grinding 10+ hours heating gear and now I take it upon myself to just crash a guildies run and say hi, so here is to you Hikons, the most memorable experience I have in SK, those arena runs 2 years ago.

My most memorable moment is pretty simple.

In one of my first Vana runs, I accidentally killed Vana with a water droplet.
I was attempting to revive my party members (they had all been killed by shadow fire), the drop hit him, and.... well.

C'est la vie.

My most memorable moment...

The beautiful day when I bought my first good gun, my Voltech Alchemer. It may seem kinda crap considering I have a Supernova now but I always wanted it. And I loved it. It served me well. :)

For what I'd like, I'd like some CE. About 5000 if you may, please. My knight's name is Scorcheir. :)

My most memorable moment, I would say the day i started to actually get into SK, not just for the TF2 hat. It was way more exciting than I realized, and after joining guilds and making friends, it's a wonderful place to be :P

I am sorry you are quitting, but my story is:

About when I started up as a new player, SK was at its really best when I started. I survived the missions, and I walk through Haven, with my favorite sword, Blizzbrand. I often use it on RJP, as it often helps me when I'm lagging. I remember, when I crafted the Blizzbrand, I was happy. I could one-hit monsters with it, T2 and below, while hold off monsters with freeze in T3 while I could prepare for a devastating blow. But I could not really craft anything now, as often I could not play while lagging. It's really bad, but when I could power through the lag, I get a good amount of profit, but not much to cover the misused mist I had.

When I joined the Guild, Clockwork Wanderers, I felt happy some of my friends were there, but I also felt, a few weeks later, that I wanted to join the Machinists, who help me with my skills at BN. :3 But I am still happy Topo and Divine are still in Clockworks Wanderers, watched over by my unknown alt ;3

Probably competing with my friend about who got the biggest crystal. We would always wait for the other one to do the last hit for the crystal to break, then laugh a ton, we did know that it was shared though. Everytime someone mentions SK I always remember these times and laugh xD.

My most memorable moment in

My most memorable moment in the game was when i was a new and really lived in my knight's skin. I didn't knew the game, was captivated by making depths, not money. I was like a child playing in a fairytale univers and took great delight in playing the game.

My most memorable time playing was probably way back then I was still 3 stars. I had gone into the Clockworks with some friends to fight the Jelly King. I probably won't forget it. I was hacking away with a Striker, and we were just having such a hard time. We did eventually bring him down, and at least I had a lot of fun doing so.

Hm. Let me see. The best moment I had was crafting my first 5* weapon. I was so eager to try it out that I couldn't sleep. When I got to try it out, it sucked. :D

I don't really have many memorable moments but I guess one was during a vanaduke fight.

The party leader was quite bossy, tried to force tactics on others. He told me not to attack vanaduke since I didn't have blitz. Isn't the quickest way to deal with an enemy is to attack with everything you have? I may not have blitz but I still have a gun that can do damage. We got to the last phase and then he kicked me for attacking. I was left alone to face the last phase of vanaduke with my AP. I think this was back when vanaduke didn't summon slags to help him so it was much easier. Anyway, AP didn't do a lot of damage on vanaduke but I didn't give up hope. I ended up using 1 res but after a few minutes of running in circles pew pewing, I managed to get through the last phase of vanaduke alone. I messaged he party leader telling him I beat the last phase and that I just proved that you don't NEED to have blitz to get through vanaduke.

Yeah so that was kinda a memorable moment for me I guess. Many people say that you need shivermist or you need blitz or you need blah blah blah, but you don't and I think people who say that you need a certain weapon, need to see that. Sure it makes things easier, but when it comes to clearing it's not a necessity. You could do an FSC run with shadow swords and guns and still beat vanaduke.

@Darkblizarga

Using argent peacemaker to deal damage to vanaduke while the rest of your party is on a different page using shiver+blitz is a bad idea because it allows vanaduke to turn more frequently. You were dealing negative damage by making the blitz needle users dodge more.

My most memorable experience has to be when I built my first four star weapon, the Khorovod. I had been playing (and maybe competing a little bit) with another player named Bertai. Both of us had just finished building four star armor, I had an Ash Tail Coat, and I believe he had made a Heavy Demo Suit. In a bit of a race to craft better and better gear, I pulled ahead when I purchased a small amount of CE, fueling the construction of my blade and later a Master Blaster. Bertai caught up to me in a matter of days, making a four star weapon and helmet, then quickly surpassed me on his was to a stellar set, while I was branching out into other weapons. It's only now that I am approaching my first full set of five star gear, over a year later. I haven't seen or heard from my friend since those times. I can only assume he's collected most of the available equipment by now!
