Bio and medical crap...

OOC : At the nape of the neck is the brain stem. The brain stem is pretty much the main road for all nerves to travel up to the brain, and it was pretty much the first thing early humans developed to become "human".

Like with all animals, snapping the brain stem pretty much brings the animal to a halt, as the brain can't send in any signals, and the body can't receive the signals. Additionally, take a look at this poor boy : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wwpO0oW2GFA

Anyhow, you can see that the normal bodily functions can still be done without a brain, although your finer senses AKA seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting, get wiped off without them. You can feel, although the memory of feeling five seconds ago wouldn't matter. Titans can regenerate their heads, as well as their brains, but why not the brain stem?

Perhaps it's too complicated to regenerate? Maybe there would be a risk of rewiring the body the wrong way if the brain stem were to regenerate?

Woah, we got ourselves a smart guy over here!

Anyways, I know that the neck is where the brain connects with the rest of the body and blah blah blah... But based on what we've done in the story, with using the fact that oxygen acts as a catalyst to regenerate the body, I wasn't exactly sure how I could explain why the neck area (what does it even do? Does it kill the Titans? Or just stop their healing capabilities?) was so vitally important. I didn't count the brain stem idea, because I assumed that they would just regrow it...

You read the manga? Oh do please, tell me more (about it, so I have a better idea of what to do)

I was tired after testing out the my REDMT. It consisted of a lot of jumping, flying, having to fetch my glasses, and the occasional teasing of an AC member. It was fun, but it was nearing night ((I think, since Meki is sleeping right now. :3 )) so I headed towards the barracks. This time I knew where the way to go. I went inside and saw Meki sleeping; I tried my best to be quiet, but to my luck, I managed to step on a lightbulb. I had no idea why it was there, but I looked back to see Meki still snoring. Such a heavy sleeper... I managed to get into my bed without making another sound. I layed in bed thinking. But, finally I managed to drift off to sleep.

Hmm.

Vinny, remember that Titans seem to defy all known laws of nature. They don't seem to have a brain stem (at least not in the neck), and there seems to be nothing there other than flesh. (Or the occasional Titan Shifter). Still, take into consideration how, in the case of a shifter, their body is almost completely merged into the Titan body, with only a few parts of them showing. Perhaps the brain stem and/or organ responsible for their regenerative powers is encased in a wall of muscle?

As for why so many people never see it, remember how, in the manga, Titan parts eventually decompose into nothingness within the hour? Maybe if the brain stem/regenerative organ is destroyed, it is the first to evaporate into thin air? *shrug*

Personality:Comet loves to fight.He likes nothing more than to kill all his foes ,but he knows when to restrain himself.He often finds himself contemplating what he ,or others could have done to do better.He is generally brave ,but if he even momentarily has a serious disadvantage such as being stunned, frozen,or blinded his shield will be up. He isn't quick to anger ,but when he is enemies beware.He tries to go into battle equipped as well as well as he can be for that particular situation ,and as a result he makes sure his equipment is in good shape.Should the situation ever come up he will NEVER even risk harming a child of any race by any means.He generally doesn't get along with people who would ,or talk to him about the same things constantly
Specialization:Comet is a excellent swordsmen ,and always goes into battle with one or two,but he is fair hand with a gun as well ,so he always has one gun ,typically one from the blaster line.His constant movement makes him more capable of using the 3D movement gear than a number of his compatriots.
Faction:Assault Corps.
Bio: Comet was born in Ember light to a pair of knights ,Silaries ,and Blazial who helped defend .In a gremlin attack the two were killed ,but he and his twin brother,Star managed to survive ,and escape to haven where they were raised in foster homes.They learned at the early age of 12 how to wield swords ,and guns.After a time his brother left to spend more time with a friend ,who eventually became his wife ,even recently having two children of his own ,a boy and a girl.He himself wasn't eager to find a girlfriend so he continued training to join the assault corps.
Sprite: Flare ,a Drakon he found nearly beaten to death by some cruel policeman.He raised to sprite to be his partner on the battle field.Flare is a unusual sprite in that when he exerts himself enough his scales shortly become white instead of red.He is also unusually intelligent ,able to figure out puzzles some knights would give up on after a minute.
Weaknesses:Comet is a total idiot with bombs.The only time he tried to use one he almost died.To this day he is mortified of the idea of using a bomb.He has no issues with other people using them ,but he will never use one himself.
Strengths:Comet learned early on how to take a hit because of a bully ,who after a while he beat up because he was just that annoying.He is much more intelligent than most knights ,but more of a scientist than a strategist.He is ambidextrous which helps out a lot in combat.He is 5 foot 9.He is somewhat on that lean,muscular side ,weighing a little less than a normal knight.
Arsenal:A Leviathan blade that he custom made for himself ,he calls Tide Turner.A weird modified Barbarous Thorn Blade that puts many swords of this day to shame.A heavily updated Valiance hand gun he uses when he isn't too eager to leap straight into combat.A set of 3D movement gear he tinkered with to work even better for him.Other than that all standard gear.

How did I miss that? Nonetheless, I have come up with this: Titans have a messed up form of photosynthesis, that gives them their power, and near the neck is a vital part that supplies the energy required to regenerate. The entire body acts as a chemical reaction machine, reacting with the oxygen in the air, but it also seals in the energy from the sun, giving it power to move. The area right at the neck acts as a solar panel, essentially absorbing power and using an altered photosynthetic process, which directly powers the reaction. When attacked the cells at the neck themselves are unable to regenerate, thus bringing its downfall. Im sure the gremlins are trying to figure out a way to stop it, but as of te moment, the cells have to be on the neck, and cannot be regenerated. This might also explains the steam that rises off their bodies, the endothermic reaction would counter with the constant energy, resulting in the condensation and then sublimation of water around the Titan.

Well...

Scientifically speaking... Jk Just wanna shorten up that messy explanation. Titans regenerate by using oxygen in the air, too much causes the regeneration to become generation, and boom. The air itself is a catalyst and is what activates the reaction. However, the process itself requires energy, which is gathered at the neck point if the Titan. The cells at the neck are specially designed to capture and distribute energy so that the regeneration can take place. Those cells are unique and cannot themselves be regenerated. The Titan gains the ability to move by having the entire surface area of its body gather energy from the reactions, and whatever sources of energy there are (sun, ambient energy, heat), also keep in mind that this effect scales and is kept constant with the Titans size. The steam is simply caused by coldness from the skin, which is caused by the constant removal of energy from its surroundings, this causes water particles in the air, water vapor, to become water droplets, condensation, but considering the amount of energy required to move Titans, the water becomes solid (ice) after awhile.The energy being distributed throughout the body from the neck area, powers the regeneration reaction, which causes these water droplets to change into a gas. Since this occurs all at once really fast, it is considered sublimation, solid to gas. But due to this, once again, happening so quickly, it mutualises, so you wouldn't really notice it. Now move along, this old man has some more theorylogical processes to conjure up and discuss with a panel of other old people. Jk :P

So this organ within the Titan's neck is just like the conventional human nerve? In the case of us, our nerves are the only cells that are not capable of reproduction, and so damage to them is permanent. The Titan's nerves are obviously capable of doing so, as when their severed limbs are regenerated, so are the nerve cells within them. However, the cells within the nape are not capable of doing so. Ah, this is so easy to understand now.

That's the benefit of having a very creative person as a member of your Roleplay (good job, Hex. :3)

Hex woke up on the floor beside his bed. It was the middle of the night, but he didn't feel tired. What time did he go to bed? Hex checked his wrist PDA. It read "1:12 A.M" Hex sighed and got up. He wasn't going to get back to sleep, he was sure of that. So, turning his recon sprite on, he decided to check on the walls, which were not far from the AG base camp.

Not looking too good for me

I woke up and as I was about to leave the Grand Arsenal, Seerus stopped me and gave me a extra Darkfang shield and put it on my back and said "Good luck and don't die" I said "see you soon" and started to run down to depth 23 when the shadow lair entrances where. I then entered Rabid Snarby's lair and noticed that most of the enemies where missing and usually where replaced with Black Kats. The core spirit said "The swarm seems to be sacrificing enemies to get stronger or make enemies much more dangerous". I run through the lair watching out for the kats and go down to the next floor. As soon as I stepped off the lift, I got poisoned and I couldn't run anymore. I started to walk through the rest of the lair without much problem and then reached the boss. I stepped on the button but then, a shadow clone of me popped up and said "Leave now, if you enter the unknown passage, we will kill you, go up on the next lift". Then the snarby's left with the clone and then the core spirit said "I can give you access to open battle doors but it will only work for 1 minute as soon as you enter the passage, I said "That should be long enough and now let's go". I enter the passage and just rushed through the passage but there are so many black kats everywhere. I make it to the end but the clone launched a charged divine avenger charge which weakened a lot. As we enter the sanctuary, I notice 1 of the light fragments and a nightmare mane as well. I then grabbed them and rushed back to the lair. After I got back to the grand arsenal to recover my energy, I just collapsed and Seerus was getting worried. (In creep's dream) Why did I just collapse? The clone pops up and said "I warned you and now you will die in your dream", the clone summons 500 Black Kats to kill me but since it was in my own dream, I got 1000 books of dark rituals and threw them at the enemies. The Kats went to eat them and I then managed to escape the nightmare but the clone managed to hit me again but it was the Barbarous Thorn Blade which really hurt me. I woke up very injured and Seerus said "What happened in the Shadow Lair?" I then told seerus and he said "that makes some sense, just relax and be ready soon for the next lair" I agreed and started to restore my energy. When Seerus left the room, I started to decode the rest of the titan's complex DNA. The Titans are very resistance to all types of damage except oxygen but they don't breathe it which causes a problem. They are starting to learn how to deal different damage (Shadow, piercing, elemental). I then fell asleep and restored my energy.

And the young boy's calloused feet were pounding up and down. Flesh pushed off of stone again and again, leaving murky footprints in the mud road. Rain filled the little indentations within mere seconds, as it did with the rest of the countryside. Behind him, his older brother, one of the Assault Corps, had already downed a Titan with relative ease. Five more, all Deviants, were leaping in closer. Every time they pounced, the soil seemed to pop, as if the tension had made the ground itself in a stressed state.

Zaki could only run faster and faster; he would have to try and avoid the Titans' attention until his brother would be tired. Countless times the siblings would pull off the same plan : Zaki would run, Sam would kill a few Titans, and then he would boost away with the gear.

That day shouldn't have been any different. Especially when the sun was out. Despite this, he could still hear the crunch of bones as the Deviants stomped again and again...

And he was awake now. He was frozen in the middle of equipping his old armor, his late sister's armor. Slowly, he allowed his head to enter through the hole in the strips of leather, and his vision darkened briefly as he donned his stetson. It lighted up again as his HUD activated, and everything was clear once more.

The sounds of the Training Hall had re-entered his ears, and no longer was he a mere boy fleeing from Titans. But he knew that what would lie ahead would probably be worse than that time. He walked along aisle and aisle for an empty shooting range, far away from the rest of the inhabitants, and started up the targets. He then backed down to at least 20 yards away, and unsheathed his Winmillions.

Just as it was like any other day, he would try to beat his personal record of twenty consecutive bulls-eyes. The standard method of using the Winmillions would allow for only ten with two Winmillions, but he didn't learn how to use the Winmillion by standard means.

21 orbs came flying at the target.

20 hit the bulls-eye.

1 finally sliced the target in twain.

He'd have to destroy the target on the first cut.

OOC : But that does not mean you should dictate what content he makes on the site. This is Kaiju's RP, which is why it would be better to ask him if Creep is allowed to prance around Cradle as he is now. As I don't see it directly affecting those who are in Haven , I'd rather think he's making a side story for himself, even if it is more ridiculous than a rhino in a tutu shooting lasers at Godzilla.

For one, "Gwen" should be back at Haven, with the rest of the soldiers stationed there. I don't recall her bi-locating, and if this "Gwenyvier" is a different character entirely, she should've been made on the apps.

The same wrongs apply with Creep. Kaiju has to determine whether or not the Core exists as a sentient being, and whether or not Seerus can be used in tandem with Creep.

Problem with the grand arsenal

The grand arsenal has locked up all their creations and only the elite gremlin builders are allowed in and the titan's are the exact same as well. Also, Seerus has put on a bomb on each gremlin and me that will activate if we kill a titan (learned that a gremlin is sabotaging the creations) and it is a lot stronger than a regular bomb and if it is activated, the gremlin who it killed can't be revived at all (Spark of life is useless). Demos still don't have it the bomb because they are somehow able to disarm it. Also, their creations are just getting stronger and stronger and with the new security measurements Seerus has added, I can't stop them or at least slow them down.

The next day, after Erica's practice run...

"RISE N' SHINE, MAGGOTS! GET YOUR ASSES OUT OF BED AND TO THE MESS HALL!"

The sergeant assigned to wake up the soldiers had to duck as a knife whizzed past his head. He looked in the direction of the culprit to find a very drooly, sleepy, sour-faced Erica. Calmly, he walked over to her bunk, cleared his throat, and bellowed, "GET THE HELL OUT OF BED, JANE!"

However, he was greeted by a hand. Wrapped around his throat. Slowly but surely, Erica came to, and after rubbing the crusty rheum out of her eyes, took a look at the more-purple-than-a-Gran-Faust sergeant's face and immediately let go.

"Sorry 'bout that, sarge! Was having a dream about... " Erica's mouth started to salivate. "Mmm... Snipe meat..."

"Ugh. Not again with your Snipe obsession!" Someone called out, and the room erupted with laughter.

The sergeant tenderly rubbed the red imprint Erica's hand left on his throat and wheezed, "It's fine. Just get your ass to the mess hall."

With that, the twenty soldiers in Erica's dorm filed out of the room and into the crowded hallway. Erica faintly heard two of her male comrades speaking in hushed tones.

"Dang, did you see the way Erica grabbed sarge's throat?"

"Yeah, man. That was scary. Thought he was gonna die for a second there."

"I don't want that girl anywhere near me."

"Well, I wouldn't mind if she grabbed my-" The soldier was cut off by an evil glare from said girl.

"I'll kill you both."

The sergeant stumbled into the hall, still holding his throat. His voice somewhat recovered, he said, "Okay, maggots, move it!" The tired cadets wearily shuffled into the mess hall to see the legendary Tyro Rivaille, leader of the Assault Corps, standing at the head of the table. He saluted heartily, which the cadets copied somewhat sloppily. He cleared his throat and boomed in his deep baritone voice, "Guess what, kiddos? I've got good news and bad news. Which do you want first?"

Everyone droned, "good", to which Tyro shrugged and continued, "The good news is that you've got your first assault mission later today. The bad news... You've got your first assault mission TODAY. I know you've had next to no practice, and the area were going to is crawling with titans, MRAs, and mechs, but hey, I like to learn on the job. Report outside in front of the auction house at oh-seven-hundred hours sharp for your full debriefing. As for you Garrison and Police folk, you should just lay back. Once we leave the Haven gates, every Gremmy within a ten mile radius will be hot on our heels." With a wave of his calloused, muscular hands, Tyro concluded, "Dismissed."

Erica practically jumped for joy. Her first real mission was TODAY! Oh, what were the odds? The young girl merrily checked her gear (her old 3DMG, as she wasn't fully used to the new set) and sharpened her Purgatory blades. She caught Sayaka and Andrew chatting outside as they walked towards the Auction house and decided to join them.

Besides, when you're about to meet certain death, you might as well do it with friends, right?

Finally! I put a lot of thinking into this RP

Groggily waking up, Mekikoi remembered his project. He went through the briefings rather dully, but the announcement of an actual mission brought his hopes back up. He downed his meal eagerly, but missed the other members of his team. Frowning, he set off to the Lab, to finish up his work.

"Hey guys, can you head over to the lab? I've got something new for you, and a request." Turning the com unit off, Mekikoi evaluated his work and smiled. It was far from what he wanted, but it would do.

"I took into consideration the issue of durability and strength within the Blades, and with an adapted forging system that utilizes the incredibly efficient power conversion system that the Gremlin's created, I was able to create a pseudo-alloy from Sun Silver and Shadow Steel."

Picking one up, he showed it off. It was slightly bigger than the previous Blade, and the metal's surface looked warped, giving the impression that it was dented or could be easily bent, but as Mekikoi held it up horizontally, it was obvious that it was very sturdy and perfectly straight.

"You see, the energy allowed me to retain the properties of both metals; the malleability of Sun Silver, and the strength of Shadow Silver. This creates high structural integrity, due to the blade being able to transfer stress easily by deforming on a molecular scale, but at the same time, having powerful bonds that keep the blade intact." Retrieving a matching blade, Mekikoi walked up and replaced [Insert Isekuube's character's name here]'s Purgatory Blades with them.

"I had an even better design, but what with the situation, I wasn't able to get my hands on enough resources to build one, let alone enough for everyone. That's why I'm hoping that during the mission, you and the other guys can get me as many metals as you can, in fact any materials is great, but especially the metals like Volcanic Iron." Smiling, Mekikoi nodded, and briskly sat down at a table, inspecting high density isotopes found within Shadow Steel, hoping to uncover a way to improve the blades more.

I surveyed the blades, "Sweet! So, after we dominate our mission..." I winked at the Assault Corps standing behind me, "We'll be able to gather parts from the demolished gremlin parts and such?" I asked Mekikoi.

"As much as you can, and try and go for the 'good stuff'. You know what I mean?" Reurning back to his work, he mumbled, "Those high velocity gyroscope stabilizers and definite point energy condensers, not to mention them low mechanical power ratio gear trains. Though it would be nice just to get some decent metals."
