sure do.
lets fix this shining/radiant fire crystal glitch already
>and this is the reason why the forge is bad?
Being unable to utilize 1/5th of system that already makes me waste more time than really needed (Forge by itself is neither best nor only way to justify free ele/monetize the game) is not ok by my standarts. Like on previous page said - FC is part of Forge and lack of vital parts makes system at least flawed
>Orly?
Yarly
I have more than 1k 3* crystals and I know where to find the 4*, so those aren't a problem. the lack of vital parts doesn't make anything in the forge flawed; is orb system flawed because elites don't drop? no, it's a flaw in the drop system, not in the orbs itself. same with radiants, the problem isn't the forge, it's that radiants don't drop.
name a way to balance free elevators, nobody here has had a better idea than the forge.
Wait, Atalanta said this was intentional?
Only one sentence must be said:
Three Rings is being greedy.
The problem is that free elevators were WAY cheaper than the extremely low drop rate of radiants. It was basically like, you pay $5.99 a month, and you get the rest of the game free. There wasn't a need to spend any more money than that... NOW, we have to spend exorbitant amounts just to upgrade an item... it's fairly ridiculous.
That's why I advocate for the return of Mist and elevator costs OR a subscription fee, instead of this forge system.
>I have more than 1k 3* crystals and I know where to find the 4*, so those aren't a problem.
And then you reach 5* and you're kind of screwed with lack of radiants. Considering also that leveling up 3-4* requires way less crystals.
>because elites don't drop?
Whats the point of having items that supposed to replace energy but appears once in blue moon so you once again forced to use energy to do your crafting?
>name a way to balance free elevators
Sparks of Life? Seriously, El Sword (altrough it has Stamina-Mist, it doesn't get in your way that often) and Warframe have lives and you limited in them in some way. Also, to think, there you also get backup lives every day (up to 3 in El Sword and back to 4 in Warframe) and you can spend some money on extra lives
>nobody here has had a better idea than the forge.
Nobody. Also, define "better".
better is a matter of opinion. unfortunately, I was saying "better in my point of view".
also, that thread (imo) was how to further monetize, not how to replace the forge.
last for this paragraph, the forge is meant to slow players down too. none of the ideas would not making players blaze through content in a day if the forge was cut out.
And then you reach 5* and you're kind of screwed with lack of radiants.
yes, and that's NOT a problem of the forge, but with droprates that are too low. the forge itself would work great if radiants were in place.
Whats the point of having items that supposed to replace energy but appears once in blue moon so you once again forced to use energy to do your crafting?

items that supposed to replace energy
hint: they aren't. if they were, they wouldn't sell them in the depot at the same price as before and in bundles of 3 so you can craf right away. orb drops are a way to encourage to use them to craft (and try) new weapons.

yeah, here too. I have 10 SoLs right now. SoLs aren't dropping everywhere. some players die a lot or don't find enough sparks, and so you buy them with energy. not me, but some surely did.
My point throughout all of my posts is that OOO could have chosen a more effective way to monetize the game. All MMOs have a monetizing factor. Many MMOs, today, simply give costumes or mounts as a generator of money. In my opinion, making the game more playable by raising the drop rates of radiants, then adding new costumes every few months, would generate much more revenue than just killing the population by FORCING us to pay to advance. Anytime things are forced (by "forced* I mean, "You must do this to advance"), games don't survive. Games should make you "want" to give money, not feel obligated to.
A while ago, when there was Mist Energy, I felt that the focus of that was to give a "trial" period to players, where they could play the game for a bit, and, if they liked it, they would pay a small fee of $5.99 to be able to play as much as they wanted. That form of money generation is so much more effective than the destruction of player moral by the increased "farm" or "grind" feel. No person likes running the same things over and over and over for hours and hours on end just to advance one small step in the grand scheme of things. People love games that are pleasurable, and forced farming or money spending is not pleasurable to anyone. Of course, there must be some element of "farm" capability to MMOs, but, again, players should want to do that, not force themselves to. If players want to make money, they should be able to farm the currency in order to reach their goal, but they shouldn't be forced to farm just to pass a threshold in the game itself--that principle is the same with money. People should want to spend money in order to either gain a small edge in the game, help other people reach goals quicker, or look "cooler" cosmetically.
The moral is this: force people to pay and they will leave. Make them want to pay, and they will stay faithful for a long time.

imho
well to be honest it doesn't bother me
it takes me around 50 mins to do a vana run
i usually get around 6 radiants and 40 shining crystals being as i think the max crystals you can do at lvl 9 to 10 to get 100% chance is 69
it doesn't matter you can still do 23 crystals which would take under 4 hours to get the max lvl in a 5 star item
and in the under 4 hours you will get 160 shining which will allow you to heat up the 4 star gear to 5 star
also you get like 8.8k cr per run (not including materials) which is more than 100ce and then you can buy some radiant crystals with the ce
please think before you post its not that hard being as its to get the MAX LEVEL GEAR POSSIBLE
If you are using the max crystal number, a five-star item would take 453 radiant fire crystals. That is per item. It would take over 1800 radiant fire crystals to max out your first five-star set, and they are only rarely available at depth 28 (or deeper, if the game thinks you are farther down). This fact frustrates players such as myself, as I like to build a large arsenal of powerful gear and I can't have it reach its full potential.
Feel... Like spamming...
I went on a SL FSC Elite run...
Guess what?????
3 radiant...
96 SHINING...
Seriously...
MUST BE FIXED...
@ Dracerknight
So that was the "behind the scene changes" they did.... hmmmmmm
Thanks and I feel your pain, I wanted to head there in a month or two to farm them, my friends been farming that for the past months and it worked... they used to get 70 radiant or so...
D:
WHYYY
Edit: @Owster I used to be able to heat a full set... from Cobalt to Solid cobalt in less than 8 hours to head to SL and craft it and then heat it up in a matter of a single day? and that would've cost me 1350 ce a piece.... Now since I ddn't take mats into account, what do you need now to make an almirian if your friends go on a SL the next day? You need $$$$$$
MMO's hook players by providing incremental achievements and an elusive goal to work for. When you just achieved a landmark (new heat level, new piece of gear, new Prestiege rank) you feel good, and you know it's not long before you hit your next landmark ("if I do one more FSC run..." "if I find one more orb..." "if I earn 1000 more prestiege..." etc). That gets you excited and keeps you playing.
The Fire Crystal forge system is a brilliant way of capitalizing on this bit of psychology. It's a solid implementation and it works well. It even offers random rewards to keep your interest.
However, that all breaks down when there are no Radiant Fire Crystals.
We have no rapid-fire mini-achievements. We have no future landmarks just out of reach. We have old gear that is complete, we see others who have complete gear, and we look at our incomplete new gear and feel frustration.
1.No sane player will repeat FSC 120 times just to heat one piece of gear to 5*10.
2.Running T3 is no more successful, and just as time consuming.
3.SLs are expensive and it's hard to organize a party of solid players so you don't waste your CE.
4.Radiant Fire Crystals are incredibly expensive in the Supply Depot.
5.There is no way to craft Radiants with other materials.
These five facts derail everything OOO achieved with the Forge system. Fix one of these five things and this problem goes away.
Until then, the game is just burning out its experienced players who feel like they've hit a glass wall. My guild died because people couldn't heat their gear and left SK for other games.
After yesterday's announcement, I (a longtime player and paying customer) honestly might do the same.

Remember when people from before the sprites patch said this would all end in disaster? This is what they ment.
Atlanta is a GM. GMs have nothing to do with the game's development- I'd like to hear from an actual developer that this was entirely intentional before I believe that this won't be resolved.
Do we all, at least, agree that our inability to obtain radiants aside from shadow lairs is a problem that needs to be resolved?
