The Downside is really Range. If your out of range (since your under them) Blesse would not ahve seen you. I know Three of you have a HUD so in a since Blesse has three sets of eyes working for her. As well as the Camera's around the Map which are watching the area.

@Edolas, find out about who?
@Dark
Hmm, I thought beast bells are meant to deter the beasts, not attacting them.
The Blesse are used to deter yes, but at the same time they can be used to stun. In this case the Bells play a pitch that disorientates beast's. To everyone else it's just a really loud noise. For the sake of the Bell Stations (And to keep wildlife from getting too use to the Bells/harm Wildlife) They are locked down for Two minutes (Around five should something happen to the station).
"Jaxter fumed over his bottle of ale. He was sick to his stomach about not repaying Cicero. Then he remembers Gwen's words, about him aiming to kill. Silly girl...I don't want to kill him! Maybe just take a few limbs off."
I don't recall Gwen saying that...
"Run Cicero. Jaxter aims to kill you."
That's what I'm referring to if it wasn't clear. Apologies.
How did he hear that? I was imagining Jaxter to be perched at the corner of the Arcade, with the guarding knights still firing away at them. Not only was Jaxter too far to hear it properly, he would have had to hear it over the gunfire.
What's his Sensory rating?
Just because something is written, does not mean you can act on it. Stop metagaming. How would Blesse know that the cameras were tampered with? He never physically touched them.
Tampering dose not me Physically touching something.
Besides, she is watching the feeds and could tell when some one set a loop because the fine detals are clearly defined here, the main ones behing you all. She couldn't see you that rases a flag. The logs of the PC would have stated that their was a change in the recording tume, Flag two.
But like I said before, it won't matter because your still going to rave over Metagaming even though the elements are their which state it's not ._.
Also, please be advised of something. The Computer you just got into was completely locked down with a Master Lockout code. Thus meaning that only some one with that code can get it. As it stands only those in the Hall of Heros have such a code. Malkalack please revised and read carefully for the PC was locked all the way back to the point where inorder to even get started on anything you have to unlock the while Computer with said code.
Honestly it is what it is. Let the Host settle this as best he can, outside of that we will carry on?
Malk, why do you insist on messing with the cameras?
Only if the connection is fine after he does so. Gonna need confirmation on this though.
Wretching a terminal from the ground, mangling then digesting it in acids...
Yeah, connection'd be affected.
You can, Blesse can work with the camera's better anyway. Besides, I am going to void Malk's actions since he clearly is not reading so the Camera's are currently under Blesse's control.
Again, Thin needs to step in at this point.
I've added some story for Skylark Down, and have put up a shamed one in discussion.
So what can I do to catch up? Last place Renao was: Stopping the NPC's from shooting at Gwen in the Arcade.
The group headed down to the Wildwoods where Cicero is currently alone posting explicit images on Blesse's cameras and Jaxter is aiming for his arm. The rest of them are with Xindao and leading them to somewhere while Anguis burrows under them.
Alright Anguis, that's your cue to destroy the terminal.
Did Anguis happen to swallow Cicero, or part of his arm?
Buddy, I know you want this to resolve it's self but at this point its not, you need to do something besides let do nothing.
Going to guess not. To keep Malk quiet for one, and two the target was the Terminal.
@Malk: Oblivious to the fact the console in front of him was swallowed by a giant snake...
Dude, don't be so bossy. You have no right to tell Thinslayer what to do, and no right to tell me to revise my posts. To be blunt, just get over yourself.
At least Anguis is getting his recommended daily allowance of Iron.
But you have to admit, that was quite the steel on his part.
Id tell more, but I just cant stomach it.
Oh Lordy.
Regarding this post, Darkwatck was right to have detected Anguis. In this case, I choose to use the game itself as guidance: the Snarbolax can be tracked while he's underground in GWW, so I see no reason why Anguis can't either. Darkwatck is officially innocent of metagaming. Screw physics. xD
Regarding this post and all subsequent ones relevant hence, the problem lies in the contest between Cicero's Analytical 2 rating and Blesse's in-game-developed skill with the computer & Analytical 1 rating. While normally the higher rating wins out, in this case, Darkwatck took the trouble to develop his character's skill while Malkalack did not, so on the balance, I would expect Blesse to win out. However, these kinds of contests are kind of fun, so I'm inclined to rule that while Cicero's hacking efforts are valid, Blesse must win in the end.
Meh, okay.
/think He can't beat me in hacking if I DISABLE HIM IN RL!
*Gnaws on Darkwatck's fingers*
Okay, so is Gwen still with Cierio and sono? And is Jax and Xindao chasing down Gwen, am I correct?
I just realized who I unconsciously named my character after. This isn't good... most of you presumed that he was named after the philosopher. You were dead wrong. Click the link if you dare.
I bloody knew it... darnit, everyone hates cicero, you know that right Malkalack?
Wow, dude, stop, Gwen can't just have every power in the book, this is some serious god-modding... and also judging by the fact that Gwen can mistook Xindao's cheecky insult as a compliment, it only makes more sense for Affraiel to settle a score with Gwen, I see no way Gwen can justify her actions, no even for a bit, there is no justice in revenge, none at all, even Affraiel knows that.
Affraiel: "Oh look, Gwen is getting all serious, wanting me to pay for the crime of the death of her sisters. Hah... then what about my justice? Serris locked me up in a steel prison for five years of my duty as a warden and at the end, when you sent skylark and Serris back to Isora, I was sent to camp Zeta to rot, Serris sold me out, where was my justice?! Where was my freedom when I yearned for it?! I was forced onto this jagged path by people like you, people who have no concerns over other people's life and still call themselves right! Gods, you may have all the power in the world, but at the end of the day, there is just something, something that we mortals know that you will never, ever understand!"
"Gwen can't just have every power in the book"
-What power? All she did was get up and run really fast. I just dramatized it.
Gwen can't see you. She can't hear you. She doesn't know exactly where you are. I imagine you to be a full level higher than she is. She's back in hunting mode, that's all it is.
Furthermore, Xindao did indeed judge her innocent, and here's why.
*Murder is defined as unjust killing.
*Execution is defined as just killing.
*Xindao labeled Gwen the executioner.
*Gwen thought of herself as the executioner.
*Therefore, she understood Xindao to have declared her innocent.
Does that clear anything up?
EDIT: I can possibly see an area where confusion lies. "None could stop her from reaching her target." I didn't mean that in the past-perfect tense, as if it were already done. I meant it in the imperfect tense, as in she was "in the process of reaching" her target. She's not actually there yet, and won't be for a while.
"He judges no one innocent. U_U" -Seatus
Also, shadowy beast is yours to control, unless it isn't Snarble, just a regular Snarbolax.
When it comes to the Perfect term of something, its normally stated with 'Has, Already, Done' in it. When you had the sufix "-ing" it is imperfect and thus meaning something is happening. '-ing' is a action suffix and is also a cluse in the English language meaning something is happening, can happen or is in the process of happening. There is also the suffix '-ed' which means it has happened or was a action being done, which means its still open that it's been done but can be changed.
Ex: Imperfect Usage.
'None could stop her from reaching her target.'
Using Thinslayer's own words.
This here means that the action is happening and can be changed at a moments notice.
Ex: Imperfect Complete Usage.
'None could stop her as she reached her target.'
The action is still happening, but there is little to no room for doubt about the end goal.
Ex: Perfect Complete
'None could stop her as she had reached her target.'
The action has happened and it can't be taken back or changed. It is clear what has happened.
Sorry to jump in Thin, but English 1101 class and all that jazz.
Yes, thank you, that's exactly what I had in mind.
Execution is defined as just killing.-Thin
Wow, for a celestial being, Gwen's logic is rather backward (seeursly, she stands against everything Affraiel stood for), there is NO justice in taking away another sentient being's life, no matter how much crime they committed. If Gwen thinks that she is some kind of 'Moral Absolute', then it only makes it more apparent that she needs to be put down. A god who kills is fine, but a god who kills and then justifies it as execution is simply unacceptable. And just for the record, Xindao called Gwen an 'exterminator', not 'executioner', in another word, Xindao thinks of you as just another common day killer, no better than Affraiel or Elzilia.
And still, Moral holes:
-Who protects the innocent, from the woman who protects the innocent?
-If Gwen's death should be 'powerful', I just don't see it happen, if she dies, I would simply be glad that she is gone, if she keeps her mindset like this.
-Shouldn't Gwen be priorotizing snarby first? And also, the serpent who is creeping about (sensory:2) or Xindao, who is literally a potetial demi-god. And also, there is a mute pyro who wants her dead are all more important than some old man called Affraiel.
-The way that Gwen simply run off shows that she doesn't care about anyone but herself, hence why I find her more pathetic. A shepherd is supposed to take care of his herd, and what Gwen is doing is just the opposite, she never lead her fellow sisters to battle, so why should she care about their death anyway?
*I respectfully disagree with you on the idea that it is never just to kill. In the case of murder, justice demands it, and being the ruler of this world, it is not only Gwen's right, but her duty, to execute murderers.
*Gwen cannot prioritize Snarby when there are no less than two threats more immediate (Jaxter and you).
*Finally, remember that she really does not care for the lives of others as much as you expect her to. As I explained earlier in this RP, she lost most of her empathy.
Consider. Her main character flaw is that she simply doesn't care much about others. As the story progresses, she will undergo character development in this area (if she hasn't already). She mostly cares for Cicero (if only a little), and should he be harmed, she might realize that she really does care. This way, she will also learn to show mercy towards those she intends to execute for their crimes.
So by the time she is killed (if ever), she will cry, not because she fears her own death per se, but because she cares about how it will affect those who care about her.
Edit: got ninja'd
Still, the arguement of execution:
Just because it is her duty, doesn't make it anymore morally correct to take away one's life or freedom. One might say that people like Hitler, Stalin and Moussolini should all be executed because it is just, but really? Is there really a right or wrong here? Or is it just what you tell yourself?
All of these genocidal dictators were once human beings like you and I, and they walked this earth like we did. I hereby salute to them, not because I praise them for what they did, but to repespect them for they were once human and their lives were just as valuble as everyone else's. All lives are created equal, no matter the mistakes they made in life.
And also, on the note of that, Serris, the man who imprisoned Affraiel against his will left cradle on skylark, and before he left, he told Barrus to lock Affraiel up in camp Zeta when he promised that when Affraiel has finished his duty as a warden, he will have his freedom, in another word, Affraiel watched Gwen as she sent his mortal enemy to space while he is left on cradle to rot, hence why Affriael hates Gwen so much, to him, Gwen is just another white haired brat, so you may want to talk to him about this when you finally meet him.
Standing against execution no matter what sounds lovely when you're sitting on the sidelines, but you haven't put yourselves in the shoes of the victims. Suppose your parents, siblings, spouse, or girlfriend is murdered. And just to make the case easier, let's suppose further that they were slowly, brutally murdered right in front of you.
Now try to tell me that execution is always wrong.
You will be seeing red, dude. You won't be having such lovely feelings of "killing is wrong!" when you're the victim or dearly love the victim. Do not the victims deserve justice? Why must we ignore the victims' cries for justice because you feel that "all killing is wrong"? Eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth. Do onto others what you would have others do unto you. Whoso sheds man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed.
When you're the murder victim, letting the murderer live hardly seems fair.
Now put yourself in Gwen's shoes. Let's take your Hitler & Stalin example; suppose you could see into the future. Suppose that you have the ability to stop the Holocaust and the Purges, and all you have to do is kill Hitler & Stalin. You could be saving countless millions of lives by killing two.
Don't try to tell me that's not a fair tradeoff.
That's why Gwen does what she does. And hey, if the murderers are going to be killed anyways, whether by law enforcement or by the victim's angry friends & relatives, why not nip the bloodshed in the bud and kill the murderer before it happens?
Even so, even if my friends or family are killed, it is still not right, the murderer messed up his/her own life the moment they pulled the weapon. Is there really such a thing as right or wrong? Maybe the murderer had no choice, they where attacked by my family first, or maybe the murderer IS a memeber my family, a person that I cared about as well? What would I do then? Still wanting them dead?
And even if the murderer is completely insane and he/she belived that the killing is justified (like Gwen), don't the murderer still deserve the right to their freedom and life? And what with is this stupid, medieavel logic? Whoso sheds man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed, WTF is this supposed to MEAN? So Gwen killed someone's father and the son takes his revenge, Gwen dies and her children take their revenge, killing for the sake of revenge, so are we supposed to just let this blood shed continue? And make the executioner no better than the guilty?
Even if, one day a member of my family is murdered, I will never resort to this kind of degenerate logic. And what if the murderer is executed, does that bring my dead family memeber back, does that gave them justice? Justice is for those who are still living, and if this 'justice' can't bring what was lost back, then I am more than happy to refuse this kind of 'justice'. There is always an alternative, it is called 'forgive' and 'move on'.
We still RPing here?
If I can go back in time to when Hitler and Stalin was young, I won't kill them, I will teach them what is means to love, the love they lacked, I will repair what was once broken in their heart and fix them onto the right path (if Gwen is so powerful, the healing of mind should be easy). Murder and genocide are not written in their DNA, they have the potential and no doubt the capacity to be great men. I think that is a much better trade off, than just ending the life of two human being, convinient? Yes, but does it solve anything? No.
And even if I did kill them both, wouldn't others just take their place? Who knows, we might have someone who is FAR WORSE taking power in Germany back on the early 19th. Wouldn't that be just as bad as letting them live? And also, we can't mess with history, but what we can do, is to make everyday of our life a day that history will remeber, knowing that we can never walk the path that they have taken and cherish those around us.
This isn't exactly "medieval" logic.
Did you ever wonder why "justice" is represented by scales? There's a reason for that. It's about fairness, balancing the "debts" of crimes against each other. Steal some money, pay it back plus extra for time and effort spent to recover it. Hit a man, get hit yourself. Kill a man, get killed yourself. It's all about fairness and balance. Without that balance, the victims feel cheated.
That's why murderers must be executed: so that fairness & balance, better-known as "justice", is preserved. When justice is preserved, the victims are satisfied, and all is made right. When justice is not preserved, the victims feel that the justice system isn't working for them, and they want to take matters into their own hands. The "debt" of crime has not been paid.
That's not to say that all murders must be paid with death. Intentions make a big difference here; if the murder was accidental, there is no justice in taking the life of the accused because there was no malice in his/her heart. But if the murder was intentional and malicious, it is quite fair and just to take the life of the accused, for aforementioned reasons.
The Biblical laws regarding murder closely resemble American laws on the subject, and considering that I hold the Bible in higher regard, I found it fit to be used here. It is from the Bible that I derive my views on murder and killing.
Yeah, alright.
They were gonna find out about him eventually.
