I've tried using the web browser, installing, using a Sega account and finally using Steam. I've also tried everything the help sections offered.

No matter what I use, all I get is the "A server error caused authentication to fail". I'd noticed when re-installing, there was a patch. Evidently, it's not sorted out the BIGGEST issue of the game. After all this time, you'd think there was a fix.

It would be awesome to at least try this game, but if something like this can't get sorted, maybe I don't want to after all.

The game used to run perfectly fine but just now when I tried to open it, it suddenly won't work!
The program opens (sort of) but it is incredibly choppy, and I can't even get to the log in screen because as soon as I click my cursor on the login area, the whole thing freezes, goes white, and says "Not Responding".

Anyone know what happened?

Well, basically, when I launch the game, the window appears, tells me that 'the client has to be updated' and opens the updater, which, in its turn, tells me 'The configuration file is missing the 'appbase'. I wrote a letter to the support, I did what they told me (remove getdown.txt digest.txt and version.txt, reinstall Java, reinstall game), but it didn't work - the same mentioned above started happening all over again. I really wanna play the game but the aforementioned has been happening for well over a week now and it just does not let me do it.

I just started playing the game and something I noticed from the off was lag spikes causing my screen to momentarily freeze. Between these lag spikes every 5 seconds (not a emphasised) the game runs brilliantly. I'm wondering if these could be caused by internet issues, if slower internet causes screen freezes or if it's likely hat the fault is with my display (which runs fine on everything else).

Visuals run from a ATI radeon HD 5850 so it could only be a huge issue with the card, drivers or a compatibility issue if it is my end.

I'm not entirely sure what information I need to put here, but I've been trying to run the Linux client (as well as the web-client) under Ubuntu Linux version 11.04 with a Radeon HD 4350 graphics card with 512MB of memory.
(running the Steam client under Windows 7 Pro on the same hardware makes it perform flawlessly)

I've been getting a black window that closes as soon as the background music starts, which doesn't even give me any time to try entering my log-in credentials.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what to look for or where to find the log files?

I can't get past the character screen, my account just freezes and it then boots me out of the character select screen, back into login.

Look, i made this account earlier today to see what this was like cuz ive been dying to find something me and my gf can play together since her comp is too full to download mmo's, but anyway here is whats going on in order: 1. I made an account. 2. i used the facebook confirmation. 3. i clicked play. 4. internet crashes with an error going "Website restore error: windows has stopped trying to restore this site, it appears the website is having a problem". so i make a different account with a different email without using the facebook(thinking that was the problem) and so, once again, 1.

I tried on both Steam and on the game's website, with the same result.

When I try to launch it, the launcher appears, it patches and validates to 100%, but then disappears and nothing happens.
If I try again, literally nothing happens.

Any tips?
