The piercing brandish

The piercing brandish wouldn't work. Why? Brandishes are most known for their charge attacks. Guess which enemies can dodge brandish charge attacks? The ones that piercing is strong to: Fiends and Beasts. Yes, those wolvers and devilites will be flying all over the screen unless you run up and don't use the charge, in which case a flourish will get the job done more efficiently.

Comments alone make this worth reading.

Hrrmm... I like that Drakeslasher Line... Reading that part made me think of an English Class lesson: Imagery. I imagined the Line being a... you know... snout(is it?) of a dragon, with the fangs protruding the main blade.

@Malsvirbranea:

The piercing weapon isn't a Brandish.

No poison brandish.

Brandish uses offensive statuses(Fire, Ice(Thaw dmg), shock)

Huh?

I've always loved poison in many ways.
I think a poison brandish would be great!
But the dragonslicer would be cool but think about it in LD, it would be kinda, maybe overpowered.
You guys can judge me on this comment.

Fiends are fast, wolvers always teleport. Flourish is pure piercing, has long reach and first swing is pretty much as wide as a DA.
I feel no new sword has a chance to compete against it. It's already perfect.

Kinda funny

I use my Gran Faust against Wolvers/Divine Avenger against Fiends pretty often. Does it work? Why would I be smacking them around if it didn't? I never considered bringing the Dragonslayer idea up until i was certain it could work, with extensive heavy sword testing. I've already found that the idea has something going for it. And I don't really think my Barbarous Thorn Blade is 'perfect' exactly, I would like at least the option to have both it and a heavy piercing sword, the only damage type that doesn't have a two swing sword. As for more detail on what I found, Fiends dodging? Doesn't matter. The swing arc catches them easily. On top of it Greavers trying to hit you get smacked away. Trojans die somewhat easily to the Divine Avenger, and somethig that they're weak to would be even better. Teleporting? The Chromalisks don't teleport. They turn invisible. Wider swing, easier to find them. Wolvers? They don't teleport when the sword sends them flying, it might even stop them from doing it. Conclusion? Not every fiend is trying to dodge you. Not every fiend is fast. There are other enemies than Wolvers and Devilites that are weak to piercing.

For clarity

For clarity in the future I'm an endgame player (solo runs in Shadow Lairs and Danger Missions) With many 5 star swords, guns, and bombs (starting to lose count, at least 7 in each) who's reached the conclusion for at least the Dragonslayer sword based on extensive tier 2 and 3 testing.

Well

I don't have an extensive knowledge of guns nor do I solo paytoaccessland but wrote a more detailed Longbow and Crossbow topic. You do seem to get more answers though so maybe I just rabble.

So, is the dragon sword just a Troika with a different charge? How can a two handed sword be piercing, unless that is a spear and you don't mention it.

Also, having an elemental attack bomb only from 4* is a bit late in the life of an aspiring bomber, it wouldn't make much difference. It would make much more sense to add it too to Bark Module prices.

Technically, the current shadow Brandish could incorporate Poison, but it would make it a bit OP unless damage would be reduced. Maybe add a different path from the 3* to the 4* akin to current Calibur lines?

Appearance of the Dragonslayers

In order to fit in with the games theme of toothpicks, and also for a medieval dragon theme, the Dragonslayer line takes the appearance of big jousting swords, and their appearance is : Grey with a yellow glowing line for the Drakeslasher, Dark Grey with an orange line for the Wyvernslicer, and Metallic Black with a Dark Red glowing line for the Dragonslayer. The glowing line is right above the hilt on each of them. The ideaof them being heavy is for the other use of the rapiers: horizantal slashes. The slashes of these big swords with incredibly sharp tips tears through the same way a Barbarous Thorn Blade thrust would, ripping into them a very deep gash.

Oh god, memories...

When you think about it, a heavy piercing sword doesn't really make sense. Swords in general are already "piercing" as in they are sharp and do damage by cutting and slashing. If they don't, then they are really clubs. But if we ignore that, what does a 2-hit combo for a lance look like? The only thing I can think of is a slash -> stab thing, which is just a slower flourish.

i like it

i like the ide because so far there has only been the florish type weapons made for piercing. my only problem with it is the mechanics of the the two swing, that feel a little bit to troikaish. destroys its originality. so i was thinking why not change the two swings into a one swing that swings upwards, then the second swing which is slower by the way goes into a slam with push back.

another way it can go is a swing that only goes 90 degrees from the hip of the player, then the sword would be carried upwards to the right to do a swing from the right to the left of 190 degrees.

just trying for a more original swing style then the old heavy sword swing.
