So we all know OOO is obsessed with promos, and I already know we have Gremlin and Construct promo boxes but... I though one more couldn't hurt...
Anywho! Let's get this show on the road. This box wouldn't include any new Battle Sprites, but it would have two new weapons and a handful of costumes.
So lets get on with this.
____
The Box would be called Tool Prize Box.
____
50% Chance of the following:
-Tool Belt (All variaties)
- Tool Box (All varieties)
-Wrench (All Varieties) [From Construct Prize Box]
-Overall Straps (All varieties accept Shadow)
____
25% Chance of the following:
- Grease Monkey Clothes
- Grease Monkey Hat
_____
10% Chance of the following:
- Greasy Toupee
-Tinkinzar's Crown (Comes in Regal, Divine, Volcanic, Prismatic, and Shadow)
_____
5% Chance of the following
-Oiled Aura
_____
< 1% Chance of the following
-ReprogHammer (Sword)
-The Rebellion (Gun)

Okay so on to backstory.

Hello Knights! Seeing as some of you have taken quite the intrest with our prior operations: ZAP and THWACK. We have decided you need some time off. After infiltrating gremlin and construct bases we assume you have plenty of spare parts. HQ requests you use your creative side and build something! But be warned, the clockworks have become a dangerous place, as it seems some constructs have become sentient and areattacking the gremlins. We don't have to much info, so until later. Stay safe Knights!

On to Weapons!

ReprogHammer:
5* Sword with INSANELY slow swing and MSD low when held.
Construct Damage: Very High
Does large amounts of normal damage
2 swing combo with second hit having a chance to cause stun.
Very slow walk while charging
Long Charge time
Charge: Troika overhead swing, with a twist.
Charge does Stun
Upon hitting any type Mecha Knight with charge ~2% Chance it will be ReprogHammed into a MKK Mecha Knight with half helath.
Upon Hitting any type of Gun Puppy < 1% Chance of it being ReprogHammed into a Love Puppy.
Looks like a Rusty colored Piko Piko Hammer.

The Rebellion:
5* Gun with average firing time and MSI low when held.
Gremlin Damage: Very High
Does normal/elemental damage
Fires Gun Puppy bullets
Fires 3 shots before requiring reload
Relatively Fast Charge time
Movement not decreased while charging
Charge: Fires 2 T3 Gun Puppy Shots
Charge knocks you over like Magnus line.
Looks like a modern, black pistol. Like this.

Acessories!
Tool Belt: A belt with tools on it. Nuff said. Just in case you think I plagiarized, I did NOT see This thread before I had my Idea. Armor bottom, just like his thread says, that part I'm borrowing.

Tool Box: Like Vitakit or Ammo Pack, but more metallic and stuffed with tools.

Overall Straps: Armor front, might not work that well.... Kinda meant to go on Grease Monkey Clothes.

Greasy Toupee: Slicked back, black, greasy hair. Like the greasers from the book/movie "The Outsiders".

Tinkinzar's Crown: Looks Like the Ice King's crown from Adventure Time, but made of sheet and scrap metal.

Oily Aura: Basically just a Soaked Aura, but with black mechanical oil rather than water.

Costumes!
Grease Monkey Clothes: A white T-Shirt and denim jeans, soaked thoroughly with sweat and mechanical grease.

Grease Monkey Hat: Like a newsboy hat on top of a dusky sallet. Cap is soaked through with oil and sweat.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
TL;DR: A new promo #deawithit.
You really want them to release new weapons in prize boxes? Like, you're ok with it and actually want it?
Honestly I...
Well the ReprogHammer is definitely a powerful weapon, and deserves to be this or like the darkfang shield, the gun, meh it's not that special.
I wouldn't buy the box, but hey, if it makes some of the P2P people happy, and makes OOO more money to get them closer to future updates, then yea. I'm fine with it.
+1 in general
Oh yeah, greasy grease for my...machines right? Oh, my hair? Oh. Why not both? Elbow grease!
I'm not a fan of having combat gear in boxes. A lot of people aren't. IMO, boxes = aesthetics, gameplay = get better gear for better gameplay to get better gear. However, something in boxes to make getting the gear easier, while maintaining that a patient Free-2-play player will eventually get it? Sure. But in addition to aesthetic prizes, sorta like how some boxes also have upgrades.
Really great ideas in general ^,..,^
"...if it makes some of the P2P people happy, and makes OOO more money to get them closer to future updates, then yea. I'm fine with it."
I appologize to you in advanced, but this is someone that I must disagree with you on. The rest of your post is perfectly fine, more prize boxes will come out, and community suggestions for them are more than welcome given that they are for the community. But the idea of putting real items inside of boxes and using them to make the tiny percentage of whales feel better about themselves is just awful.... it's selling out. That's exactly what it is. Selling out.
Lets say that there is a 5% chance of one of these items being found from a box. This is to be fair, and show the best case for the players that want these items. If the promotion sells 1,500 prize boxes (a very innacurate but still optimistic estimate based on the number of unique "1/2100" items), there will be around 75 of these items in existence. Compared to how many combusters? How many rocket hammers? This is actual, real, live, content we're talking about, and it excludes what percentage of the playerbase?
If every single invested knight that wants the item spent 20 dollars on the game at the promotion, there still wouldn't be enough of the item for 75% of the community to have one. Compare that to Operation Crimson Hammer- 5 bucks and you've got how much content? Two new items and access to a new mission. 20 dollars worth of energy gets you 2 of almost any other item from the supply depot, right there on the spot and we all know that you're better off paying for the orbs slowly.
You're arguing for two items that come at less than a 1% chance overall. If it was at around 1%, we'd expect about 15 of these items to be found per the 1,500 prize boxes sold. If it ends up at around half and half, we'd get about 7 or 8 of each item. Do you really think, that development of the game, should be focused around feeding the top 7-8, or even 15, or even 75, spenders?
And the worst part is that there are no guarantees. Lets say that I open 200 prize boxes. 200 prize boxes would on average grant you the items you are proposing. But individually, you would have a 60% chance of finding at least those 2. There is still about a 14% chance that you won't get anything from those 200 boxes. This is extremely disheartening prospects for those buying boxes.
My philosophy, is that when you spend 50 dollars on a video game you deserve more than a 13% chance at finding the item that you want and that more than that, no one should be pressured into playing at those kinds of odds for actual advnatages in the game. It's just not right.
What about this do you enjoy the prospect of? I'm a bit short on time, so I'll come back and regurgitate the rest of the arguments we had when the mixmaster was released, but modified to fit the potential of a .5% chance at seriously powerful and cool gear that bear new mechanics entirely later, if needed.
So what you're saying Fehzor...
Is that it should be more of a 10-15% chance of a weapon in a box... I guess I can see that. I just used those numbers to follow a pattern. Obviously, if OOO is kind enough they would change it. I hope you understand that in no way am I angry. I just used numbers that were already in existence, I agree wholeheartedly, but I don't think the ReprogHammer could have a normal line, maybe the gun though. Perhaps they could both be in a DLC like OCH, that would fit the rebellion story I had going! Thanks Fahzor, mayhaps I shall create that for another day, but for now the ReprogHammer and The Rebellion stay here as < 1% chance items.
No, I'm saying that it shouldn't be in the box without a free alternative period.
I've already posted an enormous amount about why I don't like actual gameplay elements in prize boxes-
I see what you mean, and will, at a later date. Make a thread about implementing F2P versions of these weapons. so umm yea. I'll probably do that next Saturday or something... What did you think of the rest though Fehzor?
Like I said before, it's fine-
The rest of your post is perfectly fine, more prize boxes will come out, and community suggestions for them are more than welcome given that they are for the community.
I'll add on a bit to this-
The actual idea of a hammer that reprograms construct to be on your side is awesome. I'd raise the odds of it to be a reliable phenomenon, and probably make it a shadow themed weapon-- that way, it wouldn't damage the various construct that it would convert, and would be better suited for taking out gremlins.
As long as its charge was hard to use safely, took forever to charge up and effected only one enemy at a time, I don't see the item as coming off as being over powered, even if it had a 100% chance of converting the mecha knight or turret to your side. It would easily suffer the same flaws as something like gran faust- tiny damage output per time spent charging, but with a potentially dramatic effect on the few enemies that it hits. The only difference is that the reprog hammer would be more interesting and probably more useful.
A gun that uses triple shot as its projectile would also be a welcome sight.
Yes to cosmetics and no to special weapons.
The only weapons that are liked by the community from prizeboxes are reskins.
Rather than plain reskins why not have:
A Sudaruska Reskin with a Construct High UV already installed
A Valiance with a Gremlin Med UV already installed
These reskins would have the same power as a Sudaruska or Valiance with the same UVs thus the unboxer gets a nice prize and the community stays happy.
Oooh, I really like that idea, Holy-Nightmare. You should write it up in a new thread. Like, they wouldn't come with an innate bonus like wild hunting blade or anything like that, but with just a variant. Preferably not like ASI: Very high, but like very high monster buff and med asi/ctr UVs. I'd be much more likely to get a super soaker if it came with CTR: med or fiend/undead: very high on it.
EDIT: Actually, I'll go write it up and post a link here in a minute.
Yeah, exactly that. Except it deserves more love than that, because it's a pretty awesome idea. I'll go bump it lol.
