KK I will wait then, no need and give Skotino away since right now it would be him sane, that or his second in command would be doing most of the talking.
Fate: Factions (character applications open)
Gwen smiled and nodded. "Certainly. Let's see what this boss has to offer." She cracked her knuckles and planted her hands on the doors. They began to rattle and shake violently before the lock suddenly snapped, swinging the doors open. She then stepped inside, the only audible sounds being the ominous clicking of her boots on the concrete floor.
"Hello darling," said a male voice, startling her such that she tripped and fell on her face. "Ugh, hello..." she replied as she wiped the dirt off her face. "Who are you?"
"I'm Serris. Who are you?"
"I'm Gwenivere."
"Nice to meet you. I intend to kill you."
"Nice to meet you too."
She summoned her swords once more and crossed them threateningly. "I'd shake your hand, but I've got a spot of bother to attend to first. Do you mind?" she quipped. Serris drew his own sword, a massive Gran Faust, and said, "I don't mind at all, so long as you enlist the help of your little pets." Gwen snorted. "Pets? Pfft, puh-lease, if anyone's their pet, it'd be me. Besides, you're one to talk; we just had to fight off a couple of your own pets at your front door." she retorted.
"I like you, Gwen. Let's get this started, shall we?" Serris said as he raised his weapon.
"Yes, let's."
Stratios edged farther back as Gwen confronted Serris. Glancing around, he surveyed the situation, hoping to identify any advantages.
OOC:(You can probably take this opportunity to also describe the surrounding area.)
The room is mostly characterized by an overabundance of crates. What could possibly be stored in them is well-beyond anyone's imagination.
I so want to make it where Skotino just pop's out of one of the crates holding a weapon before miss firing it...Ya I know it would be story breaking but some light harded humor from an other wise bruding guy is fine every now and again right?
Waking up in the dark Skotino yawned, feeling his suroundings were rather packed in. What the? Did Daud put me in a holding cell? Ah well might as we try and break out...alright now body, just a simple wake up.
Bursting out of one of the many boxes up on high Skotino gave a roaring yawn as he felt something amiss in his hand. Scratching his back, even though he had armor on, he looked down at what he was holding. A gun, what the.... Placing his hand around the weapon he tossed it behind him instead looking down to see a group of people fighting.
"I need breakfast, hay who as my eggs!"
Skotino said as he started to walk forwards, not very awake yet the man fell from his box, landing face first in the ground. Getting up and rubbing his head the man in Dread-Skelly armor looked around trying to understand what was going on, despite waking up in a box. I think I might be in some kind of battle...damnit, alright body run away from these people. Rather then running, he just stood there watching. Good job mind...good job.
Is mine unsatisfactory? When I say that I've finished my app, I mean it.
The bio's been added.
Or were you just really busy with WK, and didn't notice?
Oh well.
Yours is now accepted.
I'm about ready to begin the main story thread. Does anyone want to extend the test run for a bit to get a feel for the gameplay?
Astran "Thinslayer" Valderis
Gender & Birthdate: male, 2990
Aspects: Widely Traveled; I Know People Who Know People; Crack Shot With A Gun
Equipment & Gear: Laser Rifle; Divine Avenger; Irontech grenades
Approaches:
- Careful: 3
- Clever: 2
- Flashy: 0
- Forceful: 1
- Quick: 1
- Sneaky: 2
Bio & Personality: If there is one word that describes Astran, it would be "recluse." He rarely speaks of his personal life, and no one really knows whether he has any family or friends. The few who claim to know him say that he "seems to be a decent fella, the sort o' man ye could count on to have yo' back in a pinch." He tends to pay close attention to details and is very careful about his work, which many employers hire him for.
What he does when he's not on the job, however, is a total mystery...
Okay, I'm home from school on a weekend. As a warning in advance, I have a party tomorrow afternoon, so I'll be unable to post. But for now, how should I start...
Edit: Yeah, okay five hours have passed. I was planning on posting, but then I had to help with a local fair (I'm having a surprisingly busy week...), so I was unable to post and I haven't came up with an idea yet, I'll work on it.
@Thinslayer Can you send something/one my way, or should I continue?
Certainly. I need to clarify something first though: Are Takamura's alignings with the Spiral Order or with the Morai?
1. Himself.
2. "The ones I hate," being the Morai.
3. Whichever "cover" allegiance he can be in, as a second identity.
So far, he's considering playing on the Isoran side, but he'll definitely flip sides when he sees the opportunity. For now, though, he's kidnapping young recruits to convert into Morai or as fleshbags for the young, impulsive Morai.
So he's essentially a mercenary-style character at heart, giving his allegiance to most convenient authority?
It just so happens that the law of "most fit survive" is more apparent in the Morai physically than any other faction (closest to that would be the Fiends in their business world).
YOu know, I could almost relate Skotino to that mind set. But he believes in his research and men/women too much to just give them over. Instead taking them and turning them into weapons and stronger soldiers. At least when he is sane. Its funny, your Merc. is in it for the fun, mine is in it for the money and power. I wonder what will happen then they meet.
Takamura isn't doing it for fun though. He has his own reasons.
Wait, why is the reply intended for me but it's written for Skotino? O.o
I intend to link your two characters together, as requested, using the event with Skotino & Daud.
But Takamura's all the way in the Clockworks at Depth 18.
Edit : In front of an Ash Tail den, I might add.
I just remembered the other half of this operation. Give me an hour or two to whip it up.
Takamura was walking AWAY from the Garrison and towards the Chasm. How would he end up closer to the Guild Hall? Besides, isn't he supposed to be KIDNAPPING the Squire? That'd be suicide to get closer to populated areas. I know you want to get the story moving, Thin, but considering that only THREE players who signed up have posted, we'd probably be ahead of the others if I complied.
And that'd be unfair. Very.
Edit : I also realized that it wouldn't work with my current post about Takamura switching elevators mid-way, since the Arcade is a good distance away from Takamura's own elevator...
...unless you want me to accept a Fate point and forcibly get us together for the time being.
Then I guess I'm a bit confused about Takamura's location. If I recall correctly, you noted that he was on D18. Only the Arcade goes that deep. The Chasm is on the other side of Haven. He has to go through the Arcade in order to get anywhere. Now, I think Darkwatck mentioned Skotino approaching an elevator; while there are lots of elevators around Cradle, the only ones that make any difference are the ones in the Arcade, so I assumed those were the elevators referred to.
You're both approaching the Arcade, by my calculations.
Am I mistaken?
EDIT: Yep. I misread the last part of Darkwatck's post. Your characters are more likely to pass each other without seeing each other.
I was just following the lead of Thin here when he wanted out character's to meet. As for Daud, he is just Skotino's second in command. Outside of that he looks like a normal warden doing paper work so he won't stop you in any case. Sorry about dat, and yes I am pointing at the elevator in the arcade since those are the only ones we know of at this point that can do that far with correct destination.
Sorry Feline.
Sorry that I haven't posted yet, procrastination, school, and baby showers slow ya down. But I'll start on a post for real now. Edit: There you go, mostly just introduction. Micheal is who lance is a student of. He probably won't be major, but if he is I'll make an app for him. I'll post again tomorrow at latest.
"Takamura, along with the unconscious Isoran on his back, as well as the odd Drakon-class Sprite, came up the supply shaft (located a ways from the Garrison) roughly about the same time as Skotino had departed from the Arcade down the main transport elevator. "
As Skotino would be leaving, Takamura would be entering the Arcade on the far side of the elevators, closer to the Garrison. They'd be able to pass by each other enough for a glance, but not enough for Skotino talk to Takamura. Must I highlight, bold, and largen the size of my text to get the idea in your guys' heads? I'd rather not, but if we're not reading each other's texts, I might as well start doing so.
Its not Skotino who stopped him. Its Daud, who was in the grimson. Another thing to note the only elevatores that go that far are in the Arcade, so you had to leave the Arcade inorder to got anywhere. So it still stands as just a one time run in here.
"Also, get me a Drakon...I want a pet."
"Yes, it would've been for the best if Sir Francis would get lost."
Self explanatory suggestion.
It seems things are moving quite Swimmingly. Considering what you said make since, even a Knight prone to have moments of insanity.
School's done for me, I can finally post at normal times in the day. Edit: Oh, and Thinslayer, how deep down can the level be? I've been trying to avoid mentioning it so far in case it counteracted with any plans you might have had. Probably should have asked earlier.
What do you mean? Like, "can we probe the secrets of the universe" deep or "Clockworks depth 30" deep?
I meant I was wondering if you had like swarm or a goal that you don't want us near yet or something at a specific depth down.
Ah, so it's both, then.
No, I don't have any preferences on that front yet. I don't have any plot in mind yet, so our story is still developing. I don't want to hinder that process with restrictions.
That said, please use discretion. I want those endgame-elements to be used effectively.
Hay Thin, IDK I think Sir. Franic would be a nice match to Skotino. When he loses it Franics could speak for him xD
I was tentatively planning to give Skotino a Maskeraith, but I don't think I can handle more than one battle sprite character.
I might give Francis to Skotino. Let's see how things play out with Takamura first.
Yes, I kinda want to see how that ends up. Will he try and beat the Drakon into submission or just shew him away.
I've suddenly been inspired with a story to tell! And whaddya know, it even fits the RP title!
Let's see how this works out.
All right, what are your plans for Takamura, if any? I'm thinking of getting him caught in the middle of the brutal _____ war going on in the lower depths of the Clockworks, where he will be forced to choose between a greater evil and a lesser evil. Is that more or less in line with the kind of character you're playing?
We are truly a blessed guild.
Alpha Squad leads us into battle. The Spiral Council fights at our side. The Core itself has kissed us with its Spark. Legends are born in our halls, songs are sung at our tables, and travelers tell our stories around campfires. Happiness and good cheer defined who we are.
Or rather, who we were, for a joyful heart cannot but shatter at the loss of its brethren.
Greatest evil possible for a man like him, who chewed hell and asked for second helpings.
All player characters can take up to 3 Stresses in any given battle. If the character suffers a fourth Stress, he is defeated, resulting in a Consequence. Exiting a battle before its completion earns you a Fate point.
Hexlash, Dmatter? Where'd you guys go? You had a cool plotline going.
Raigaizam, if you don't mind, could you explain your story to me in greater detail via PM? I'd like to link you up to the main plot, if that's okay with you.
(Pssst, Hexlash. It may not look it, but I'm waiting on your response.)
Rules have been modified.
- All players and NPCs begin with 1 fate point.
- Taking more than 3 stresses (dmg>3) warrants a consequence, which is healed after a reasonable time period. Taking 3 stresses or less (dmg<=3) can be healed immediately after combat.
(@Thinslayer, OH, it's not CANON! That makes all the difference! :D We should have a more subtle way of displaying the dice rolls, to prevent it obscuring the story flow. Also, I'm gonna butt into Raigaizam's turn, sorry!)
(Rolling a 6, +2 Quick for a shift of +2 against the guard's 6.)
Stratios dashed up behind the second guard as Gwen successfully defeated the first. His Final Flourish whistled easily through the air, slamming into its head. Smiling, he swatted the limp body away.
"Shall we proceed forth?"
