I personally have my copy stuck in my Spiral Knights folder. It feels a lot easier that way, since I won't have to recopy everything every time there's an update.

Good luck with that! You cannot easily change filenames without breaking internal references. To make matters worse, there isn't even nescessarily a file per model. A lot of gears are simply variants of a base model.
Do more people have problems finding the right model files? If so, I could probably come up with some kind of a search function.

I have seen the future...
actually I just grabbed the rsrc folder from the test server folder and there are A LOT of interesting things in there, enough to make me reconsider how I plan to do certain parts of the FanComic I'm doing. There's a lot of new stuff, especially for the gremlin's and I'm quite eager to play around with it. Crew NPC's also look good and they have added a lot of different eye expressions to work with now.
That said I'm quite irritated to not see any changes to the gunslinger hats and got very excited with something I saw in the handgun folder then got very disappointed when I put it in Spiral Spy. Hopefully OOO will bother to change the gunslinger hats by the time the mission update happens.

Do what I do and copy the whole rsrc folder and put it into another folder outside of the SK one and use that one with Spiral Spy, you can modify files to your hearts content there but be aware that some files do link to other ones still.

Oh my wow it's possible? Makes the knights seem less chibi-ish mayhaps, like how at -2 it has the opposite effect. Took far too much effort for naught thinking how it might work though, doubt I'll go through that again sometime.

It does not work because "C:\Users\Konrad\AppData\LocalLow\spiral\spiralspy-1.1jar" is a file, not a classname (the right classname would be "de.onyxbits.spiralspy.SpyApp"). General solution to your problem (in this order) try to:
* Reinstall SpiralSpy
* Reinstall Java
* Install Linux (*)
(*) Can also be used as the first option.

I just saw there is an 6 31 update to java maybe it will help.
The strange thing is i cant run any jar files, even get-downpro.jar and i remember it worked for me... but luckly i can still play Spiral Knights and it seems my Java Runtime Env. is working :F Why then i cant open jar apps directly ?
Ill try later reinstalling Spiral Spy (or rather redownloading it? :P)
Then reinstall/update java. (im using JavaRa for cleaning java leftovers)

Posing models
How do you pose more than one model? I tried making another knight, along with the first one, but I couldn't use any animations with him. Any helpers? Also, I'm sorry if this was asked before, but I simply did not have the patience to look through 6+ pages.

Main Class Error
I got this error. i've tried "java -jar spiralspy-1.0.jar" but nothing happened (ran it in cmd and power shell)
as you can see from the pic, I have it in the right spot.
I reinstalled java, both the 32bit and the 64bit versions, and still the same error.
What am I doing wrong?

i might be necroing this.
this dead? i wanna do spiral spy, but it won't let me open it. i do not have steam and am on windows XP. I dragged it into my spiral knights short cut and it complained of not having some 'class' of some sort. why the hell did spiral spy leave and stop the thing. so... annoying.

I use Ubuntu 12.04. I found my getdown folder, and placed my spiralspy in the correct place but still get the default message when trying to open it with "Oracle Java Runtime 7". I heard somewhere that Spiral-Spy himself uses Linux, so I got curious... can anybody help me please?
