I dont really want a plain background, I'm not really sure what I want, so just do what you think looks good.
My personal color is red, sorry I forgot that ><
Here's a preview Ndognine. Please tell me what you think. I would like you to check it over to make sure I didn't make any mistakes, see how you like the background, etc. before I post all their various views.
2 words:
bad ass
love it dude ^_^
only mistake I see is that you put a fancy side blade, I have a parrying blade :P
I see. That can be quickly remedied.
Sorry, i realized that I already had a character in mind and I can't do three at once! Ignore this post!
Ok. They're finished now Ndognine.

i talked with someone who said it was working so I can't quite figure out what could be wrong for you, you try all the faces? Where are you making the change exactly? Not sure if it matters or not but do you use a mac or pc?
I figured it out so they work now, thanks for checking though

@Seeleo:
Please EDIT your post instead of posting 4 times in a row
could someone make me a model of my character doing something epic? :3
Like maybe doing Shadow Lair alongside Happy?
Stuffs: Miracle Hood with heavy vertical vents,Skolver Coat(you can put wings if you want),Wise Owlite Shield, Divine Avenger?
(you can put me in any scene you want if the one i suggested is too complex :U)
@Altos: I'll keep it in mind, but I made a note about me and requests in the OP and your probably quite aware I'm busy with a large project in Spiral Spy already, and I'm about to show another one I've been working on.
Well here's something I've been hinting I've been working on for a bit, like when I said...
"I've already thought of 3 more such custom characters already, two of which I already know I will make eventually, expect them to be outrageously well armed :D"
"I've been mainly focusing on character design more then actual scene building, the result is a whole lot of spectacular looking custom characters..."
"...next few Spiral Spy scenes I intend to do will essentially be a showcase of what I can do with character design (you'll be surprised)..."
This began soon after my large post on attachments a while back, since then I've been creating custom characters and trying new ideas and techniques on them, for fun I decided to assign them roles as employees within the supposed Spiral Spy Workshop my character runs (sort of), over the course of a few months I developed quite a few of these characters who I am going to start showcasing now.
Over the course of the next little while I'm going to gradually profile each one with a character description, what gear they use, a short comic about each one, and some technical talk on what it took to make them, I will also post some downloadable files relating to each one (not the full characters though) for other people to use, often more simple objects as using some of the things shown here are rather complex.
I'll also begin casting for my FanComic soon (likely before I'm done profiling all of my characters here) so this is also a show of how far I can take character design, so the possibilities for characters probably just got A LOT bigger now :P.
All I can say about this is that it's truly one of the biggest projects on the forums at the moment and it's awesome. A few questions about characters though, will there be a limit to how many characters are accepted, and are we limited to only making protagonist's?
I'll give out the details when I start casting, but for the most part yes its going to be protagonists, though they don't necessarily have to all be 'nice' people.
I'm not sure how to kick this thing off and don't have time to write out the full details that I want to, for now I'll make due with this short comic:
Meet the Crew: Happyapathy and Eve
A lot more to come soon.

Despite been the owner and director of the workshop Happy spends most of his time watching TV, idly drinking coffee, while leaving most of the work to his secretary Eve and the other employees around the studio.
A master gunman, Happyapathy is skilled in the use of all fire arms and can pull off seemingly impossible shots with ease, however he is hopeless with a sword and is more dangerous to himself and friends then his enemies when wielding one, even sharp kitchen utensils should be kept out of his hands.
The Nameless Snipe
A mysterious snipe who glided into Haven one day on a westerly wind, how he learned to use guns is anyone's guess but what is known is that he is very good with them. From what has been gathered from the strangers he is one badass of a snipe, he shoots straight, hangs out at the toughest bird baths, and does it with the best lady snipes around who find him very charming and manly.
The iPWN-2
The latest iteration of the iPWN minigun series Happy developed for himself, it features 6 barrels to spew out bullets at an even more blindingly speed then the previous version, Happy once tried to bring it into a Lockdown match but everyone quit the second they saw it so King Krogmo banned it from the games.
The six barrels actually rotate like they should on a minigun but the video I have won't upload ;_;

Technical Notes
- The iPWN-2 was the first item I created that has a custom animation attached to it, in this case to rotate the 6 barrels constantly
- I created two custom animations for the player when using the minigun, one for idle another when firing
- Happyapathy here, like most of my custom characters, is crafted from a custom made blank player template model that greatly cuts down the amount of extra 'stuff' from the model_level.dat player model file that you often don't use.
Downloadable Gifts 1
Happyapathy's custom blank player template:
This is meant more for advance Spiral Spy users, it is a blank player that I have modified to remove most of the preset animations, and attachment slots from, thus greatly reducing the file size and clutter of it, even when fully decked out in gear it will often still be smaller in file size then the model_level.dat file, thus allowing more objects to be put into the scene before Spiral Spy is overloaded. To use this you will have to know how to add your own animations and attachment slots so you can add on to it as necessary, also knowing how to save models is important too.
Nekomi and Kleft remade for optimization:
As an example I've redone the model for Nekomi and Kleft with as much file size optimization as I could, make note of how I've removed the options to directly change a lot of the settings on the model as these are unlikely to be altered after they are set.
Eve is Happyapthy's ever faithful secretary who actually does a bulk of the work he's supposed to be doing, Happy is quite oblivious to how much she does and she is too humble to ever complain, why she hangs around with a boss who clearly does not deserve her is a mystery.
Underneath her modest demeanor is a truly terrifying master of swords, she is talented in the use of any blade and can fight both in the traditional sword and shield stance, or be a whirlwind of death with dual blades, hand her a proto sword and she'll give you Vanaduke's head (er, mask).
Paige
Eve's assistant snipe, she is often busy flying around delivering memos and letters around the workshop when Eve doesn't have time to do it herself. Rumor from the strangers is that she has something going on with the Nameless Snipe, but this has yet to be confirmed.
Meet the Crew Comic: Happyapathy and Eve
Technical Notes
- Eve was the first custom character I made, that and the 'angel' theme is what contributed to her naming
- She was also the first character to do true dual wielding using attachments
- She's actually an impossible character to make in-game, her eye color differs from her armor
- I may update Eve sometime in the future with a custom texture, like many of my later custom characters

Spiral Clipboard and Coffee Mug
Special coffee and clipboard models I have altered to have a 'knight' variation along with the standard fiend ones, now your knights can look busy with a clipboard, or loafing with a cup of Joe.
...That...was...informative....
And really cool! :D
I think Eve looks awesome; 'Can't touch this' sort of awesome Oo
DUAL WIELDING CIV WTF OMGBRAINEXPLOSIONZ!!!!!! /Bombhead detonates.
But I don't see Eve in the Meet the crew one in your last post, where is she?
Will she ever get to meet WallE and stop being a workaholic long enough to notice him? Ever?
@psycho
which post are you referring too? Eve met Wall-E but mistook him for a scuttlebot and sliced him in half down the middle.
Has anyone tried the downloads? Are they working?
D:
She KILLED him!?
/cry
I didn't try the downloads cuz I'm utterly useless at Spiral Spy.
I can't wait!
Also for the clipboard downloads, where should I save them?
@psycho
It's a comic, you need to go to the next image :P
@Atrumvindex
Just unzip it and put the whole folder in the rsrc folder.
Fuseman is in-charge of scene background construction, including tasks such as laying flooring and erecting walls, he has a knack for mechanics and is a superb handyman.
As good as he is at building stuff up, he's also just as good at knocking them down. Fuseman specializes in the use of heavy weapons and bombs, often making use of a custom built grenade launcher or rocket launcher, when he arrives at the scene of a fight expect things to get very loud, then very quiet.
After been shocked one too many times by "friendly" mechaknights, Fuseman got fed up enough that he decided to build his own one that would actually be helpful. The result was Boomer, or technically Boom Bot V4.5 (half of him is built from salvageable components from the V4.0 model), who was constructed from mechaknight pieces Fuseman collected and a few key components he "borrowed" from Bosco's mechaknight (Bosco has yet to notice). Fuseman was even able to find the extremely rare proper left arm and right leg limbs for his mech.
Fuseman was also able to fix the annoying issue of jittering and occasional self shock by replacing the unstable, jury-rigged, Gremlin engine with unstable, jury-rigged, blast bombs. Why he would rather have a mech that could possibly explode instead of one that shocks is a question only he knows the answer to.
While Fuseman has been quite successful replicating his own combat style in Boomer's programming, his attempts at creating a speech modulator that would allow Boomer to say appropriate responses when talked too has been less then successful, especially with the 'appropriate' part. Many of Boomer's programmed responses were downloaded from the Skylark's salvaged movie database resulting in most of Boomer's phrases been quotable one-liner's from the big screen. Boomer's Friend/Foe Recognition is also less then perfect, resulting a number of near tragedies (and leveled buildings) during Halloween and the introduction of Trojan costumes.
Though certainly not as quick or smart as an actual knight, Boomer's greater robotic strength and robustness make him a valuable companion on any adventure, just don't try to start a conversation.
Meet the Crew Comic: Fuseman and Boomer
"Massblast" Grenade Launcher
Designed to use the small blast bombs from the bomb bandolier, these small but potent explosives are loaded manually into the guns chamber from which the user can rapidly launch them. It is particularly effective at dealing with crowds as it can quickly cover a large area with many rapid explosions.

"Light Bringer" Rocket Launcher
The Light Bringer rocket launcher is a single shot launcher that uses the unfolding-fin rockets fired by rocketpuppies, so ammo can be replenished from salvaging rockets from destroyed turrets. The user is able to use a laser guidance system to track targets or can fire dumb shots that just go in a straight path. It is meant to be used against large heavy targets such as Trojans or lumbers. For solo user the launcher can be loaded with a rocket been inserted directly down the tube, however it can also be loaded from the rear end by a two-man team to greatly increase its rate of fire.

Overview
Technical Notes
Fuseman:
- What makes Fuseman, 'Fuseman', is his bad-ass helmet, it's actually two helmets layered on top of each other which I explain in this very detailed diagram
- I wanted to put a bomb bandolier on Fuseman, however it clashed badly with the Guardian armor he wears, in the end I decided to go with the armor instead of the bandolier
- I always imagine he speaks like the Marauder from StarCraft 2
Boomer:
- Boomer's model is actually fairly complex, its the torso of a mechaknight attached to the limbs of a knight from both of which I removed the texture from the respective parts that I didn't want to be shown, so what your seeing is like some weird conjoined twin of two separate entities bound to each other, as such to animate him involves having to setup two animations, one for his limbs one for his head and body, and have them both run at the same time to look like they are one
Grenade and rocket launcher:
- You can probably tell they are made up of various pieces from other weapons and props that I have re-textured and attached together, see if you can figure out where each piece came from
- The rocket launcher is actually a less complex model then the grenade launcher
- Ideally the rocket launcher would be a two handed weapon but there aren't any animations (or animation combos) that give a good pose for that, as such its a one handed weapon and maybe is just a lot lighter then it looks :/
- The rocket launcher has some collision issues with the knights head and the rockets are actually slightly too big for it, making the launcher any larger would start to make it look ridiculous so please just ignore those facts :P
- I made two custom animations for the player when firing these weapons

"Light Bringer" Rocket Launcher
Guaranteed to increase your knight's badassness by 200% regardless of whatever else they have on, comes with free rockets and rocket firing animation.
The downloads in sk have the black and red worded texture....
Wow, the whole crew. Those guns are wicked. For Boomer, why didn't you just slap a re-colored Mercurial Demo Helm on a Knight body, and then add assorted Mecha pieces?
@Atrumvindex
if you can try re-applying the textures again through the edit panel, it may just need to be re-pathed.
@Windsickle
I think it's more interesting for him to clearly be a mech if you ask me, plus i already kinda did the reverse for that sword enemy in my fanfic :P
Haha, wow, thanks for that Capsule-pit, I love it!
I don't go on the forums as much as I play the game, so it took me a bit of searching to find this topic again, but yeah, looks great.
I can see an Explosioncube in the pit, and an invisible Chromalisk.
@Guitarknight: There are a couple more things that don't belong.
Impostocube at the starting platform.
That's all I got.
Now for my jackers of Lumbers.

WHAM! WHAM! CHOP!
actually I just grabbed the rsrc folder from the test server folder and there are A LOT of interesting things in there, enough to make me reconsider how I plan to do certain parts of the FanComic I'm doing. There's a lot of new stuff, especially for the gremlin's and I'm quite eager to play around with it. Crew NPC's also look good and they have added a lot of different eye expressions to work with now.
That said I'm quite irritated to not see any changes to the gunslinger hats and got very excited with something I saw in the handgun folder then got very disappointed when I put it in Spiral Spy. Hopefully OOO will bother to change the gunslinger hats by the time the mission update happens.
Milly showed up out the blue one day with a tray of baked goodies for everyone, nobodies sure where she came from or knew her from before but since then she regularly pops in and out of the workshop, and she always brings something of interest back with her. Though technically not employed, Milly's roles can be described as 'specialty prop acquirer', 'beast wrangler', and heavy lifting.
When Milly shows up she's usually doing so too show off her latest 'toy', often a large object that she found god-knows-where in the clockworks, however she often quickly becomes bored of it and runs off to find something else to play with, leaving said object for use in the workshop, such as a 200 foot tall Gunpuppy statue Happyapathy has yet to find a use for (see earlier comic). When she finds something she wants nothing stops her from getting it.
Milly is also always 'adopting' so-called pets which often don't last very long due to her excruciating loving attention, her 'cuddle wuddles' and 'huggy wuggies' often turn into death squeezes and her idea of a walk is dragging along the poor creature behind her while running at full speed, snipes have learned to flee at the sight of her when she comes skipping along. The few creatures that do survive often do so by bolting the moment she is distracted by some other cute adorable critter, the workshop has made use of this by having open pens and cages ready as many of them are quite happy to be safely locked away from her. Often she'll quickly forget about her previous pet and go off in search of new victims/friends to take care of.
Milly's girlish demeanor and love of all things pink and/or fluffy is completely at odds with her unholy strength and complete lack of moral ethics. While she has no formal training to base her combat effectiveness on that would prove to be a fatal mistake, if there is one thing she loves more then pink flowers and ponies it's pounding foes into the ground using obscenely large and malicious weapons, a single swing from her can wipe out swathes of foes while she giggles in delight, her combat style is often just as hazardous to her allies as it is to her foes as she has no regard for collateral damage. The longer a fight goes on the more her true nature starts to show as she enters a 'berserk' state where she starts smashing everything, often with the other knights in the group cowering like frightened children in a corner somewhere.
This happened while making this comic and I thought it funny enough to show: Clicky
P.S. Her cooking is excellent, just don't ask for recipes..

Grim (Shadow Troika)
The evil resonating from this sword causes most people's hands to decay and fall off if they grab the handle, Milly swings it around with ease as though it were made for her, perhaps it was, the power she strikes with this is earth shattering and releases waves of dark energy that tear through the living like sharpened knives, her use of it is often described as 'overkill'.

It's a Mad Mad Milly
It's very hard to make Milly truly angry, few people have seen her so, even fewer have lived to tell about it, those who do all agree on one thing, it is a VERY VERY bad idea.
That poor recon just wouldn't hold still...
Technical Notes
- Milly's weapons have a size adjusting animation applied to them similar to the one used to change the height of knights, this way they are always automatically re-sized to the correct scale
- I originally wanted Milly chopping up lumbers for the Giant Axe image, however it turns out the lumber's body shares a lot of texture mapping with its legs, so erasing part of the upper body would cause part of the legs to disappear too
- You can't find Milly's demon (er, dragon) wings anywhere in game

Battle Axe
While the Giant Axe is the sole property of Milly, I've put a smaller version here for use by lesser mortals for when they feel like butchering their foes barbarian style, I've also included some instructions to fix some texture and pathing problems I heard people are having with my previous downloads, please tell me if they work.
Truly awesome. And I just remembered I have somewhere to be. Goodbye. *
anyone tried the download, do the instructions work?
Awesome work as always Happy ^_^
Haven't tried the download cause I'm on my iPod, but is there and chance you could upload that shadow Troika? I almost want to make one and use that as a reskin...Though normal size may be better for that xD
happy how do you select certain parts of models and mix them with that? I've been toying with it and I can make weird mixes within new models with two overlapping sets of armor (kind of like fusemans helm) and some sets with "parts" files like the almirion shoulder attached to a skolver coat. But how do you make someone like boomer? function with active animations?
Well here's a first, I've uploaded a file containing all the custom eyes I've created, follow the instructions in there and you'll be making expressions in no time!
