When did he start using AT? To my knowledge he's derped with it and played like Ruby a couple of matches the past few weeks, but he hasn't actually tried with it. He did however try with AT on Prolyphic. In fact that was one of the only cases he made towards using it and deciding to actually trying with it. As far as I know he still despises it. And also the reason why he used it on Prolyphic was for a good reason in itself. I believe it was to help revive some of the competition in Tier 2 and beef-up some players down there.

My list of top players is too long since I've met so many prose. Not that my list matters...

People I had trouble with/could not beat easily:

- Rileyslayer (his stun-locks were beyond supreme)

- Hungran (Sealed Sword and Swift Flourish extravagant)
- Odee (used to be so good, turned okay later)
- Qazxedclv (Shard Bomb professional)
- Fire-Tiger (Swift Flourish stun-lock extreme)
- Toanii (really excellent in Swift Flourishing)
- Bacon-Strip (same as Toanii)
- Saidxp (impressive Gunner)
- Aegrith (LEGENDARY RECON; cannot find him/her)
- Blueberrymuffin (No AT or Trinkets = got 12k damage)
- Stane (Cobalt Swift Flourish Scrub)
- Spongerino (crazy good Swift Flourish user)
- Leadmonkey (Very excellent with Nightblade)
- Snrub (dodges perfectly, and plays so well with Blaster and Swift Flourish)
- Fallconn (stop stun-locking me)
- Vanbamf (excellent Guardian)
- Nottheanswer (Recon extraordinaire)

Well...I nominate myself as a pretty good capping guardian :3

When I played, the only people who consistently gave me trouble were Civax, Otsdalva, and Glocca I believe.

These three people are able to damage farm consistently, but they also have wicked skill (as much skill as you can have in a game like this). Civax uses AT, but he has excellent movement. Otsdalva and Glocca are both skolvers, but they have extremely precise timing and jukes that outwit nearly everybody, even each other. I spectated a match with them, on opposite teams, and they both got over 30k damage in facility. Facing them was like facing a robot, as if they already knew your moves and could counter before you even started moving.

To compare, I have faced Polyphobia numerous times (usually a standard for an excellent AT player, he is a powerhouse). I was able to beat him with gunning, without taking a hit a few times. Even Skybrandon as well, both in 1v1 situations. Civax has like a 95% change of beating me in 1v1, and Ots and Glocca both have like a 99% chance, since they are THAT good. Well, that is, if I still played XD

Lastly, these beasts farmed so much damage that it actually lead to their team winning. They didn't just get 40k and lose, they got their damage where it mattered.

What separates these players though is their consistency and power. Some players have power (Darkcub for example), but their performance was nt consistent. Some have consistently, but they consistently get rekt.

T3 of course, since I did not play much of T2.

@Reddeh-San: first of all, if you honestly think he's one of the "best LD players" you've encountered, that's your opinion and you can say any opinion on here. but saying that "he's still the #1 player currently" is complete bs. what are you basing this off of? i've outplayed him in every match i've had with him. i've also never seen him participate in any form of competitive LD from the forums, meaning he probably has never played the best of the best to really see if he's #1. neither you nor him should be saying he's #1 without providing reasons as to why. if it was an opinion, then you just worded it poorly and that's my mistake, but if you stated that as a fact then wtf..

Then mention some. I haven't been very in touch with the LD scene the last few months or so. Anyone new or are the best players still exclusively people who have played since 2011/2012?

Staged fights IS where skill is at in lockdown. Depending on outside elements to win a fight for you is unskillful because if that outside element doesn't show up you won't win that fight. These braggy tournaments that you criticize test the actual skill of the person, not their dependence on something which is out of their control.

Also about the weapon restrictions, currently it's mainly status weapons which are removed due to them adding an element of luck and luck isn't a controlled variable hence it shouldn't be part of a competition based on skill. Also, what's wrong with using flourish + guns ?

1v1s do happen in regular LD very frequently, but seldom on equal footing. Being able to do well in an arranged 1v1 is very much the same as being able to do well in a spontaneous 1v1 situation in a game. Nevertheless, what's also important is being able to manage disadvantages such as positioning or lower health or using advantages such as entering a fight while the opponent is low on or out of boost.

I started doing LD at 18.04 so it seems pretty good start to me ^ ^
Also i track statistics related to DMG and wins manually atm, here's my current stats as of 01.05.15:
Total Damage: 3,036,317
Total matches won/played: 161/344
Average Damage per match: 8,827
Max. Damage per match: 16,647(once had 17,254 but didn't ss)

No, self proclaimed means : "described as or proclaimed to be such by oneself, without endorsement by others". The ones in my thread which you listed have been recognized by the community to be one of the best and the point is proven even further in this thread because many people have listed the ones in my thread as ones of the best. So, that kind of goes against the definition.

That's a reference to the Tea Party thread. The aim of Tea Party was to show others how to GvG with strategy and sheer force. It was also to stir up GvG on EU which it failed to do. Not to show off.

I'd like to say the same to you although I wouldn't call you a scrub. Just a person who uses the best gear available in the game and has to resort to cheap tactics because of lack of ability.

I like this definition of cheap : of little worth because achieved in a discreditable way requiring little effort. On those grounds, more or less for the context of skill or kills. Standing outside of the base and waiting for them to leave with a charge is cheap. Using a charge when using camera advantage is cheap. I could also argue that using broken weapons/sets(for example BK set, hammer, new valis, status weapons being broken etc..) is cheap but I don't want to start a whole balance debate.

Also my bad, I began playing lockdown 2 years ago. The "actively looking for endorsement for years" is still invalid. I asked for others to teach me how to play lockdown for about half of my lockdown carrier rather be gloating about how good I am. I entered the ranking about 8 months ago or so. In your conspiracy terms I became of the elitists about then.

I didn't explain that part of the argument well enough. Currently and for a quite extended period of time there has been no GvG match in which there was proper strategy(no, when a person at the start says go top/bottom etc that isn't what I mean by strategy). With Tea Party my initial idea was to bring in very good players and to use proper strategy in the matches to force other teams to use more strategic movements to try and win.

To answer your question about why I have an issue with charges. I don't. I have an issue with using camera angle advantage or camping outside of spawn to get a charge into someone to shock them or freeze them.

It's good to get some quarreling in sports, can't you feel how lively it got?

And it's rough to revive competition if you end up racking up most of the competitive players into one guild and expecting people to challenge up. If you do get some type of balance in the match without sacrificing either your gear or player(s), pretty sure it'd be "cheap" to the other team.

I do agree there is a valid difference on how it's played out in a 1v1 situation vs an in-game encounter.

On the "cheap" subject though, to each their own. I'm pretty sure everyone has a different opinion on what's cheap and what's fair. Just ask Scirio!

I was once playing LD. TBH I'm really bad at it. This guy named Canada-Dry killed me like 5 times. After a while I saw the leader board, and he was on the first or I think fifth position o.o
