Snarby eyes or snarby head. Sense we're likely to model the hunter's look after Snarby. Icon-ize meaning take all the details and stuff, and bring it down to a simple two-tone thing.

How about just a breeze?
We all know running can be symbolized by a breeze after all.
A breeze doesn't really show the intensity of an all vs one game because I can't really see how you could have it shown other than a few swirls...
A boot, mid stride, with speed lines behind it could go off of imperials idea.
And I'm thinking of two new maps, but I don't have the time except on the weekends, but I'll try
I guess Snarby's head would look better than just its eyes.
Snarby's eyes would be ok, but I think it might be hard to realize they're actually eyes (it has basically 3 eyes for each side of its face).
Drawing its entire head, including its mouth could help on that.

I had thought of that too, but I gave up on the idea because "a breeze doesn't really show the intensity of an all vs one game" and its also a very broad and vague concept.
Snarby's head could represent the hunter and be terrifying at the same time.

In response to Aemicus' cry for help so to speak, I'll donate some of my time to this. I have a tablet and such, and I'll draw a (VERY ROUGH) little icon that could be used.
I'm NOT an artist, but I'll do my best. I have an image in my mind..if it really ever gets drawn properly I'll post it on here. Sorry, no promises...I typically trash my work.

The thread has been here long enough that the stupid people left and stopped posting little gems like this: this is pretty much classic juggernaut, which actually once you have played enough, gets overly repetive, if you are the juggy, and hit bam you kill, if you are juggy and miss some guy shoots you or slices you. trust me, it gets really boring, really fast.
But now this thread needs more people, preferably not as stupid as above poster.
Quite welcome...I am very fond of all sorts of art, even if I can't do it very well. I often get urges to draw things until I look at the end result, which usually satisfies my urge by de-motivation.
I've been here for like 30 minutes trying to get this tablet to work on my PC, getting the drivers and getting the option to work in PS CS5. It really is a pain in the bum to do anything with computers, no matter how "User-friendly" they claim to be.
Okay, well, maybe the fact that I don't have the CD to my tablet makes it harder, but whatever.
Anyways, I'm going to take Blue-Phaze's image (The one where he has the green cross-swords) since he's got the proportions and size right. No reason to do things twice. I'll get to work on it soon, hopefully this driver I am installing allows the functionality of my tablet (Which it thought was a mouse).

Skold, I think your drawing got a bit small, but you did follow the model I expected (using the green background to match LD and BN and only one color -light blue- for the symbol).
Severage, your drawing turned out amazing, but it dispersed a bit from the pattern of the other two symbols (LD's and BN's). It looks really cool though.
I tried to match both pros, and avoid the cons from each drawing on a third one, and now it looks like a mix between both of yours.
What do you think about it? I used your snarby's mouth btw, Sev. (I hope you don't mind =P)
Oh, and I'm still accepting artworks/ideas (Don't think I am not just because I made my own).

Quite welcome...I'm glad you got some sort of use out of it. Suppose I got a little carried away.
EDIT: I'm still not very fond of that green color. Not sure why, it just seems a little inappropriate for a Snarbolax image. I know there has to be a base color similar to the others, and the FG must be white to match the others, but...I don't know...green just doesn't look all that great imo.

Personally, I think green looks better than most colors...
I chose green because it represents trees, and a forest was the first kind of map that came through my mind (Snarbolax lives in a forest too). Although I might change it to something else if there's a reason to do so.
Red= Adrenaline, This is a situation requiring adrenaline... that's personal concept though.

Err wow. I can see why you chose green. Let me rephrase my statement: I'm not very fond of pastels. xD
Which is why I used Red/Black in my image...just to imply my own personal opinion. I would choose the red if it weren't..um..pink. I would also choose grey if Snarbolax's head didn't have to be white...
But, I'm a very bad judge when it comes to pastels. Judges are supposed to be non-biased, and I really don't like any pastel colors. Saying "Survival" to me incites a "spooky" feeling, mixed with the Snarbolax head. So...my theme will always be red/black, even though I know it's not a possibility. lol
I'd prefer something more like this, but again, it's just my opinion and it probably really wouldn't match with the other LD logos.
Anyway, don't mind me. lol

its an awsome game but sorry i am a TERRIBLE artist. Survival is sudden and scary and i dont know why but it sounds good with only a single word, this probably doesnt mean anything to you but nvm. i remember something about a sewer map cause if u make the water higher u wouldn't have time to get away and into an area u can get higher with.
The awkward moment when you don't like that every contributor has snarby in mind...
I had a different idea, but since I don't have photoshop and it'd take forever to do on MS Paint I think I'll just say my idea so sev or someone else could do it.

Scroll down the page and use the costume and helmet icon that you see.
Remove the dark blue circle around the two, but keep the dark blue that's inside the heads still there.
Use the green background or other then put the helmet icon on it first in the middle, but more towards the left.
Then put the costume icon in the middle on top of the helmet, but put it a bit lower to the right.
If anyone does it post on the thread and I'll say if you made my imagination into reality :)

We just used Snarbolax since it seemed appropriate for a Hunter...but question: you are saying there there's only going to be one Costume icon and one Helmet icon right? Just double-checking since I sort of assume that the costume would be the hunter and the helmet would be the hunted..and there's generally more than 1 Hunted.

Do you mean putting a "face" on top of the other, or cutting each in half (like semi-circles) and make them look like they're the same "head"?
Either way, it's a good idea having something simple to represent both Hunter and Prey.

Only 1 helmet and 1 costume
The helmet is the hunter because its eyes look like it's creeping
The costume looks surprised so it's the prey (Doesn't need to be many at a time to get the message across)
The helmet is behind the costume, and the costume is covering half of the helmet's face, but the costume is a little lower than the helmet
Just have a cold right now and see myself failing at this particular one atm. You thinking the helmet icon should look a little more menacing? Know what, when I get to it I'll offer a few sketches on it. Here's to cold medicine and sleep wiping my illness away.

LOL Thanks for the undeserved compliment. I didn't really draw a whole lot when I made that other image...it's all about editing. You can't do that on a piece of paper lol. But yay for confidence bonus. ^^
I'm not so sure what he meant, but I made several versions.
First off, I didn't know if Oakgear wanted the "ears" on the Spiral Knight Helm with the dark blue, so I separated their versions. Secondly, I attempted to split the heads using opacity since with 100% it looked really weird...but in doing so, it loses some effect that makes it look just like the other LD logos. Thirdly...THAT TOOK FOREVER. I've been here for like 2 hours getting rid of that Dark Blue stuff...can't use any Color Range selections or Magic Wand selections because it took away the inner parts too. So I used various shapes with some touch-up pixel-by-pixel removal to make it look alright.
Without further ado, Version 1 and Version 2 of the Two Hunted/One Hunter icons.
Then, the Split-head ones: Version 1 and Version 2.
Hope you like it Oakgear...really..it took a while. lol
(Version 1s have dark blue around "ears", Version 2s don't)

I am no artist, so I probably have no idea what I'm talking about, but here it is: I still really like this one (http://s945.photobucket.com/albums/ad291/Knight_Spencer/My%20Images/?act...), because it shows the hunter behind the two prey, and the hunter is kind of a shadowy figure, which adds to the suspense. Of course, not using the flourish/chapeau promo art as the hunted would be awesome, they don't really look like knights to me. But idk, that's just my opinion.
as for the survival icon, i think a plain skull would work fine~ feel free to improvise
i like how this idea is coming out, i also saw another thread about a cooperatie Krogmo's Maze challenge, it sounded really fun
Thanks..but if you'll notice, it's way too out of place compared to the other Coliseum icons.
Also, the only reason I used that is because it was the easiest image of a sprite that I could find to render. If I could draw that well then we wouldn't be having any problems. xD

For the split head one Version 1 is correct
Don't make them transparent though and put the costume icon a little lower than the helmet, but still keep it to the right of the helmet

Ah okay. So you want it to look like the helmet is sneaking up on the bombhead dude and is like going to assassinate him or something. xD

EDIT: Luckily I happened to save that as a .psd file, otherwise I'd have to re-do the whole thing. lol

I don't know, it seems a little similar to the Blast Network icon. Could you try helmets in front of the snarby head?
Ummm helmets would be a little large for snarby's head, and if you made them small enough to fit in his mouth/in front of his face you'd either block it or they'd be too small.
Unless you mean smaller helmets underneath snarby's head.

Btw Aemicus, I'll share with you why a snarby head would NEVER work imo
1. No matter how you draw it there will be not enough detail to show that the image is of snarby or that if you make it all black it no longer looks like the other Krogmo Games
2. Snarby is a boss and has nothing to do with any of the maps I've done so far and I don't plan on implementing him since his role as a boss interferes with the hunter wanting to kill everyone and the others trying to survive
3. Snarby as a Tier1 boss doesn't put fear into anybody in the sense that this is some crazy f*&^ hardcore survival game since a whole team of guys in proto gear could kill him...
That's why I believe it doesn't symbolize this game mode

It's nice to see you managed to get Oakgear's idea right, I do agree with Aemicus when he says it's similar to BN, but it still looks great. Unless a better idea/artwork comes up (remembering I'm still accepting those), I'll use it as the 'official symbol'. ^^

Hmm, just thought of something. How susceptible would the Hunter be to knockback? Because a group of survivors with DAs/GFs could become extremely annoying. And would it have an invulnerability time after it is hit?
If the prey get knocked back then the hunter can go kill them easily, making the goal of killing the hunter pointless

I can't really know that because we can only imagine how it would look like, plus I haven't reached Tier 3 yet (not entirely), so I can't even test that on Lockdown. If the game'd be implemented, it would have to go through some testing first, and I think that is the exact kind of stuff they test on that process.
But since we're only working with hypotesis here, I'd say a more experienced player (Who knows how it is to be knocked back several times by a GF/DA) should give his/her opinion.
This thread had sky-rocketed since I last saw it. :D But, has anyone thought of putting the boss symbol for survival? It would represent that the Hunter is a force to be reckoned with, and by clicking the join button, you might as well be heading into a boss-battle.

That would look like a pirate flag (skull and crossed swords) but still, could turn out nicely. I'd like to see a finished version of it; unless someone can make it, you'll have to wait untill I get back home and do it myself... Probably at sunday or monday.
