I have been on Spiral Knights for a while and I have seen the need for some improvements and things that would look cool.
1.New weapon classes- Swords,bombs and guns are good but there are classes that should be introduced like daggers,staffs,cannons and gloves that shoot.
2. Improved Gameplay- Things like healing pads and status boosters should be added and no more arsenal stations.The storyline should be long and maybe a new chapter.
3.New abilities- The average knight can move and fight but there should be more. Jumping,grind rails,veichles and other sweet stuff.
4.Merging- If you could mix a proto sword with a proto gun it would make something amazing so why cant we?
5.Pets- Imagine if you could have a wolver or a snipe or tiny robo knight pal as a companion into the clockworks.
6.Classes- Why not choose to be a Gremlin instead of a knight and fight good with machines or a robot to battle in style.
7.Extended Haven- Haven should be extended.A huge new bazzar and guild hangouts that can be customised.
8.Energy improvements- Sometimes I get on an elevator, pay 10 energy,go down and then the server goes down. There should be faster energy loads and cheaper pays for elevators.
9.Free play- Missions are fine but free play must be added. Knights(And Gremlin) should be able to travel to anywhere in the clockworks and team up with friends for great experiences.
10.More platforms-I have always wanted to be able to play SK on Android or Playstation or Wii. Imagine if we went portable so you could play anywhere and travel freely through the clockworks and return to Haven with stories to tell.
I get the feeling you'll get lots of hate for this, because none of these are very original and many are the kind of suggestions that no one wants but come up all the freaking time.
1. "daggers" could be treated as swords because they have the same basic mechanics, so having dagger-shaped swords would work. Staffs (that doesn't look like the right spelling) implies magic- and SK isn't about magic. People don't carry around cannons, though I'm open to the possibility of having movable artillery. "gloves that shoot"=wtf? But the real problem with having more weapon classes is that the three already present cover every possible weapon - anything that does damage nearby is a sword. Anything that does damage over distance is a gun. Anything that has a delayed effect is a bomb. Any weapon that is a combination of these is put into whatever category is most prominent.
2. Storyline should be expanded as content is expanded. There's lots of unfinished story out there but OOO just keeps adding more plotlines :c. We've got plenty of healing pads spread about. I don't really want arsenal stations either but that's kind of OOO's call.
3. Nope, basic mechanics are fine.
4. No, let's keep this simple.
5. Pets require no skill. So not unless purely cosmetic.... wait, we have monster pouches.
6. Because it would force commitment to something and be unnecessarily complex.
7. "guild hangouts that can be customized" just hold your horses and you'll get it. "huge new bazaar" hurray, more places where no one goes.
8. The server isn't going down, something's wrong on your end. The economic system is fine overall, provided CE stays lower than it is...
9. ...have you ever even heard of the arcade?
10. No, because programming it would be a nightmare.
