I vote for No. Raechal attacks, I get ALMOST killed (Note the almost, I don't want to die yet.) and Equinox sends her flying away.
Finder's Keepers [discussion thread]
You didn't explain why you voted for no and instead said what happened. As it's too early and invokes overpoweredness (yes, I know you said not to call you out on OPness, Seatus, but Raechal is THE FINDER. She shouldn't be able to be blasted away easily by an energy pulse), it would be wise to stay the night at Thinslayer's, then commence fighting shortly in the morning. It gives characters time to rest, as they probably haven't done so in a while. It seems that you're also very eager to injure your character, which I find (even though I have done it at least once) uninteresting and annoying when it comes out of nowhere, like you made it. At least set up some circumstances, like "I could hear a scratching and pounding at the door", or something like that. If you feel you still want to vote no, then please explain why.
NOTE! I do not want to start an argument, and while I do accuse you of some things and make generalizations, don't turn it into a fight and try to be a good person about it.
Debates can be healthy. A well-mannered debate may be in order here.
If we are to have one, we must abide by the following rules:
*No personal attacks.
*Try to leave emotions out, unless they are relevant.
*Avoid lying or bluffing.
That should keep it civil. So, debate now?
She may be the Finder, but she isn't an immortal goddess. She is still effected by powers. She just isn't affected physically. Like pushing a block of metal. It's still being pushed, but it won't scratch. You see? And I wouldn't call pushing 'OP'.
Agreed.
@Aekuryi I don't think so. I mean, if you're being hunted, your hunter wouldn't want you to rest, get ready, and then fight fairly. He/She would want to take you when you're wounded or tired, thus making you a easier target.
The new Finder is just that - new. Thinslayer appears to be an Almirian Lord, and has his own personal army. Getting through them would be a challenge even for Gwen, who was a skilled Finder.
And Raechal cannot go all the way back to the Imperium with Gwen and back to Almire in the span of a few hours. Remember, she was taken during the final stretch to Al'Goth. When the group got there (~1 hr later), they talked with Vanaduke (~1 hr) and went to Thinslayer's dwelling (~1 hr). Our group could see the lights of Almire when Gwen set out to catch them, and they were nearly there (~1/3 day) when Gwen caught up to them. She is optimized for speed, so she can get away with reaching them so fast.
So Raechal would have to travel in 3 hours the same distance Gwen, who is optimized for speed, traveled in 8 hours. And that's being generous - the group didn't stop moving while Gwen hauled Raechal back to base.
Highly improbable IMO.
While you do make a good point, I find it a little absurd that Raechal manages to find the party out of the thousands of people inside Almire somewhat quickly (assuming that it was 8:00 PM when the party left the public barracks or whatever it was after talking to Vandauke, and that Raechal got within Almire's borders at around 7:00 PM). The no-attack route would be the most plausible one, because it would make Raechal have to find the party first, then attack them, though possibly in the middle of the night, which would also be inconvenient for the characters.
Equinox
I sit down at the table, my Snipes flying up and perching in the rafters. Everyone seems comfortable, except Vaelyntine, whom is absently rubbing her bruised face. I feel like I need to pay Topo back for that, but not now...
I set up a sudden web of lights along the walls, protecting anything from getting in and anything getting out. "Just a bit of extra security. And a failsafe, if you end up being dangerous." I smile at Thinslayer, who completely understands my distrust.
The Finder will come and wake them up in the middle of the night.
"Uh, hey guys, wake up."
"What? Why?"
"I have to try to kill you now, sorry."
"Aww... okay then... I was looking forward to sleeping until 11 in the morning..."
Anyway, I'm making an entry soon. Probably. Might be tomorrow morning.
I lost :p
Well then
[Topoyozada]
I was sitting in the room Thinslayer had assigned me with, away from Vaelyntine and the others. I understand, but I feel lonely. VERY lonely. I quickly opened the door to check if anyone was in the hallway, then quickly changed into my sponge bob pajamas. I was very sensitive about my spongebob jammies. The only person who could laugh at them was Raechal, but since she was the Finder....... I sigh, then covered my head with a pillow. No one understands me now. The only friend I had in this whole group was Raechal and Vaelyntine, but since I beated her up..... Tears began welling in my eyes again, and I pull the blankets over me, crying. The blanket and the door muffled my crying, but not enough. Vaelyntine poked her bruised face into my room, "You okay?"
[briefly after talk with Thinslayer addressing us to our rooms]
I poke my head through the doorway and look in. Surprisingly neat. I shut the door and lock in, dress down, and get into bed.
How'd I get here? From...a lonely Exile, to someone....accepted...? I think that's the word. I absently rub the black energy mark they burned into both my upper arms. I remember them holding me down. And how the heat felt. The heat...the heat....the candles around my room flare a bit before dimming again. Why'd the Strangers hat me so much?
Oh well, better just sleep...
I am in a forest, with black trees and white trees popping out of a ground that's splotched with the two different colors. I walk down a path, and find a tall woman with pearly hair... and a man, with black hair streaked with flames....
I wake up in a cold sweat.
When someone makes the big conversation, I'll plug it right on the front of this entry.
Oh, and if Amarynth's state as an Irregular is too OP, I can change the entire thing. I have a few other paths this could take.
--------------
Thinslayer had given a room to Vaelyntine and myself for the night. Even though it had been over 4 hours since I had that... vision? No, it wasn't a vision. It was just a memory. Anyway, even though it had been four hours since I saw that memory, it was still lingering in my head.
Here's something that you should know about me right now. I can't remember most of my past. It's just a blank spot there. But I didn't care. My life was filled with flowers and grass and nature and my own self-centered joy. Why I couldn't remember my childhood was not a problem if I was having fun living. But now that I've been chased out of the Imperial City with its nice gardens, and been attacked almost three times, I've had more opportunities to think about things. I put my bag on a table in the center of the room, and unbuttoned my coat. I wore a long-sleeve grey shirt and a pair of corduroys underneath it, which is usually what I'd sleep in in the summer. I didn't worry about taking them off to wash myself since I fell in one of the fountains at least once a week, which is sorta like a bath. It was fun though. Come to think of it... I had never rolled up the sleeves either. Or taken it off. Well, whatever. I don't think it really mattered anyway. Vaelyntine had come back from checking on Topoyazada, and had already got in her bed. I put my coat over a chair and climbed in mine.
"Good night", I said to her. She probably muttered back good night, but I couldn't hear her. Despite the events that happened today, I fell asleep pretty quickly. But the rift in that dusty corner of my mind was spilling out more memories.
"What exactly is... an Irregular?
"I suppose since I'm one myself I can tell you."
"No, no, child, lay back down. You can tell me from there.
"Fine. Whatever you like, weird tall guy."
"Just tell me about Irregulars please."
"Irregulars are like normal Channelers, but they're different.
"How so?"
"They can also manipulate something else. It's not the same in each person."
"You're an Irregular, correct?"
"Yeah."
"Well... what can you manipulate?"
"..."
"Could you please tell me? I can keep it a secret."
"Blood."
"What?"
"You heard me right. Blood."
"You can manipulate the blood in other people?!"
"No, just myself. I usually create weapons out of it, but sometimes I fire it as if it were a gun."
"You can manipulate it any way you want?"
"Pretty much."
"Wow... well, um, next, could you tell me abo-
I woke up with a start. Looking at the glowing clock on the bedside table, it was 1 AM. I hadn't been asleep for long. The memory disturbed me a little though. Was that me? Talking about Irregulars? There was one clearly feminine voice, a lot like mine, and one masculine voice. So it could have been me. Climbing out of bed, I tiptoed out of the hall and into the bathroom. I looked around. Nobody but me was in the hall. I crept into the bathroom and quietly shut the door behind me.
So... if I was the Irregular in that dream memory, I should be able to move my own blood... time to test that.
I rolled up my sleeves, and gasped a little. My arms had scars and burns all over them. I ran my hand over them, feeling the grooves cut into my skin eternally.
"What happened...", I murmured in shock out loud. Was this from that memory before the one I just had? Where did I get this. I pushed my thoughts aside and went back to the medicine cabinet and looked for a razor blade. I found one, and held it over my arm. I breathed heavily. Bringing it down, it stung a little, but nonetheless, I slashed. I winced, and opened one eye. Small rivulets of blood were forming on the cut I made. Putting the razor blade away, I gazed at the cut, concentrating energy. I managed to get the rivulets floating in the air, and even a small tentacle-thingy of blood out of my arm. I made a note to myself to practice it later. I released my hold on the blood, and it splashed onto my arm, and dripped on the floor.
"Oh no... the others will see this...", I said, trying to clean it up but smearing it all over an area. I quickly left the room, holding my arm. I didn't notice the trail of blood that I left as I went into me and Vaelyntine's room. I sat on the bed, holding down the wound and wincing a little. It stung, but I was fine. I grabbed a roll of bandages from my bag and wrapped it around my arm. Hopefully that would stop the bleeding... I climbed back under the coarse blanket and fell asleep with some difficulty.
Lol, shion almost accidentally went into the story. I noticed that all I had wrote,

wasn't ever going to be used, Mainly because I'm in the WRONG forum. :l I almost want to write it again.
I was startled awake by a loud crashing sound. I checked my clock: 1:00 AM. I opened my door a bit, and peeked out. Nothing. I decided to get my Tempered Calibur and Super Blaster to investigate. The sound of the crashing came from around the corner, so I walked slowly there. What I saw shocked and amazed me. A Female, which I knew she was from the ponytails she had protruding from a Kat hood, was throwing Almirian guards around. I stifled a gasp and ran towards Thinslayer's room, the man with the gold hat. I opened what I thought was Thinslayer's room door. I entered the room to see Amarynth awake, holding her arm, which was bleeding and Vaelyntine asleep. Amarynth's eyes widened when she saw me, when I quickly said, "A girl's throwing Almirian guards around! Wake Vaelyntine! I'm going look for Thinslayer and the others!" I quickly shut the door, and ran into the next room. Augur's. I quickly wake him, and told him about the incident. I then close the door, and continued to look for Thinslayer when I saw the Stranger. "Hey you! Stranger!"
"Equinox" He told me.
"Okie...... Equinox, there's a girl throwing Almirian guards around, I'm going to wake up Thinslayer.
"No. I'll do it." And he ran off, his Snipes hot on his heels.
I turn around to meet Vaelyntine and Amarynth, with their armour on.
"Nice Spongebob pjymas." I nodded, when suddenly Augur appeared beside me.
"Let's go." And together we charged at the girl.
EQUINOX
I quickly throw on my Stranger Cloak and run down the hall. A tall girl is throwing the guards around like ragdolls. I know some of the others are sleeping, so I'm going tohave to deal with this one quietly. I walk up behind her, and tap her on the shoulder. She spins around, and I land an upward Stunning punch. She flies over me from the force of my fist and lands on her back. Loudly. I wince inside, and decide since Thinslayer is probably waking up, I might as well settle this as much as I can for the moment. I walk over her, and as she throws a punch I grab her fist, and find her strength quite greater than my own. Simply trying to catch the fist sent me back a few inches. I Freeze the edges of her frame to the floor and wave the others over quickly for help.
This won't hold her long.
LOL didn't notice, must've just clicked on the wrong one.
I see Equinox waving at us, and the girl frozen in ice. I set my hands on fire and charged towards her, firing blast after blasts of fireballs. But somehow, she had dodged them all, even when stuck. She punched me in mid-air, sending me sprawling into Vaelyntine. I see amarynth and Isis cooperating in freezing her again and again, while the latter attacks. The girl breaks out of the ice and charges at me. I push Vaelyntine out of the way just as the girl slams me into a wall. Then she delivers some lightning-fast punches to my chest. She was suddenly then pulled away, and blasted towards a wall, opposite me. Equinox's work. But it didn't seem to harm her. Augur was suddenly behind her, slashing with a knife when she kicked him away, and charged. At me. AGAIN. I tried to move away, and failed. What I suceeded in doing was making another crater in the wall. Thinslayer was going to kill me, if I survive this encounter. She was about to punch me when I pulled back a fist and punched her. She fell away from me, and I took this second to blast her with everything I got. I noted Vaelyntine's and Isis' blasts. When we stopped, she got up, un-scathed. What in hell? She pulled off her Kat hood, and I got a good look at her face. Raechal? It was Raechal's face, the eyes, the nose, the lips. Everything. What in? Raechal was fighting us. Raechal smiled at me, and summoned an ice dagger. She rushed towards me, but Augur tackled her, sending her falling. She hit the ground, her head snapping back. I saw her face contort in pain, and I yelled, "Stop!" Augur looked at me doubtly, when Raechal sent him flying, and threw her ice dagger at me. I was too stunned to try and dodged of block it, and even more stunned to hear Vaelyntine cry, "Top!" It tore through my Spongebob Pjymas like it was paper, and went out behind me. I crumple to my knees, and see Raechal in my line of vision. "You hesistated to kill me, unlike me. That was your mistake." She whispered, and stomped hard on my head. I fell un-conscious.
I tackle her as Top knocks out. I hold her by her wrists, and use all my energy to make my gravity greater. I am glowing blue from the sudden use, and I turn my head to the others. "I have her under control, but heal Top, please." I turn to the girl....
ZEN MODE: ACTIVATED
Dark and Light energy flies around us as I awaken. I bend closer to her face. "You don't deserve to have Top's blood in your veins." I practically freeze her in place when she sees my eyes turn into flat black and white dots, and I give her my black and white grin, while the rest of my body remains the same, to avoid the others catching notice...
ZEN MODE: DEACTIVATED
Wait?! What?! What was that, I just blackout?! I can't question it now. She is still trapped, thank Vog, but what just happened.
I need the others' help, or I am going to turn into her personal ragdoll.
I was awoken not even three minutes later by a huge crash from the hall. I got up, holding my arm, which was still bleeding a little. Just when I put my feet onto the cold floor, Topoyazada burst into the room.
"A girl's throwing Almirian guards around! Wake Vaelyntine! I'm going look for Thinslayer and the others!", he yelled at me. He ran off somewhere. I shook Vaelyntine awake.
"Top just came in and said a girl's throwing the guards around! Come on, we gotta help!", I said to her. We both got our weapons. I buttoned up my coat, and brought my Cutter, just in case. We got to the scene, and Topoyazada was already there.
"Hey, you Stranger!", he called to Equinox.
"Equinox", the Stranger corrected.
"Okay... Equinox, there's a girl throwing Almirian guards around, I'm going to wake up Thinslayer."
"No, I'll do it", he responded, running off, Snipes obediently following him.
Auger shortly came to investigate. We charged at the girl, but Equinox had already woken up Thinslayer and gotten behind her. He performed a vicious-looking uppercut that sent her flying, but I could tell after she threw a punch at him that their strength was nearly equal. Even when he caught her fist, it sent him back a little bit. He froze her arms and legs to the floor, and waved us over. Top charges with a few fireballs, but the girl dodged them smoothly. I look at Iris, who had joined me, and we nod, and freeze the girl. She broke out of the ice, and charged at Top.
Why does she keep charging at Topoyazada?
This became an obvious pattern throughout the fight. No matter who attacked her, she would always go for Top. Eventually, after a huge blast by Top, Vaelyntine and Iris, she seemed unscathed. And took her Kat Hood off. It was that other girl. Raechal. She rushed towards Topoyazada, but Auger tackled her, sending her flying.
"Stop!", Topoyazada screamed, Auger looking at him strangely. Raechal counterattacked and threw Auger to the side with ease. She made a dagger of ice, and threw it at Top. He didn't dodge, and the icicle went straight through him, and grazed my arm, causing a little bleeding and ripping my coat. He fell to his knees, and on to the floor. However, her victory was short-lived, as Equinox tackled her, and held her by her wrists.
"I have her under control, but heal Top, please", he turned to us. I nodded and concentrated on Top. The small hole in his chest had blood slowly pouring out of it.
Maybe I can control other's blood? I try to control the blood on the floor, but it didn't seem to work that well. I have to turn to conventional methods. I use an energy pulse to promote flesh healing, and fill the hole with weak ice. He's breathing heavily, air coming out in rasps. Not good. I look back at the girl as she's frozen. I walk over to Equinox, who had froze her arms and legs. Something inside me clicks, and I decide.
"May I interrogate this girl?", I say in a deep voice, grinning. I remember the cut from earlier, and I control the blood into a snake-like shape and crouch down to her, making a small dagger out of blood in my hands.
EQUINOX
"Yes, but...I will keep her to the ground." I grunt. I watch the dagger form from her blood, and I'm surprised until...
Relax, Equinox. She is just different. She'll tell you when she feels like it. A voice in my head speaks. I feel calmed...
Thinslayer walked into the room with his battle armor activated and his blade drawn. "Good show, everyone! Glad to see you've caught our rogue Finder. She doesn't look familiar; she must be a replacement." He took off his hat and held it to his chest in reverence. "May the first Finder rest in peace."
He walked up to Raechal and looked her over. "Very curious! We will need to keep a close eye on her. The Master must have chosen her over the other for a reason."
((Raechal has no face. It was left behind on her body.))
But we regonize Raechal...... So how is that possible? So let Raechal's face stay, but she has no emotions other than anger and despair.... Or something else I forgot. I'm a really forgetful boy. :D Anyway, let her face stay, and let me stay alive please...... I don't want to die that soon in this story...... :P
I had her face hidden so it wouldn't be recognizable. Besides, it's a little weirder for her whole head to be transplanted, rather than just her brain and spinal column.
By the way, you're the one killing your own character. Stop killing yourself. :P
But wouldn't Raechal almost killing her brother emphasizes how lost she is to the dark side of the force? We would need Luke to help her redeem herself and resist the dark side :P :D
Unlike the first Finder, Raechal's mind has not been influenced by the Master's for long enough to damage her mental stability yet. Gwen was a servant of the Master for nearly a hundred years; once she is freed, goodness knows what kind of person she'll be. Raechal isn't lost yet, but she will be traumatized by all the killing that she is forced to do. Almost killing her brother will practically give her a heart attack; if he survives it, she may gain the mental strength to challenge the Master (though be nowhere near defeating him in her mind).
MaY??? That's all you could say to me? MAY? I want her *almost* DEAD, no excuses! Go!
/shrug
Post something, preferably in reply to #376.
But I'm still sticking with the fact Raechal has a face. I mean, let's say she's deep undercover to kill a Channeler Underground network. She has to have a face to get undercover!

pt 1
I open my eyes slowly to find myself swathed in white sheets. I noticed Equinox standing around, not doing anything. "Hey." I croak, and he turns.
"Hey. So you're alive. Here, have some apple juice." He raised the glass to my lips, and I drained it quickly.
"Raechal?"
"Interrogation cell."
"Bring me to her." I said.
"No."
"Please....." I begged.
"Vaelyntine gave me specific orders. Keep you here, alive and healthy."
"I'll die right here if you don't bring me to Raechal." I threatened him.
"No." I gave up on begging right about then. I suddenly pounce left from the bed, and a sharp pain tore through my chest to my head. I dropped to the floor, and I struggled to stand up. I felt two strong arms grab me, and put me back in bed. "NO. Don't do that."
"If you don't bring me to Raechal I'll throw myself again and again."
"Fine." He brought a wheelchair, and I plopped down in it. He pushed me, out of the white room, and hopefully to the Infiramy.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
pt 2
Wait..... I wasn't pushed towards the Interrogation room. I was being pushed towards a familiar corridor, and into a room. Vaelyntine's and Amarnyth's room. Both of them were there. Vaelyntine was dozing and Amarynth reading a book. She looked up when I entered, and gave Equinox a look. There was a pause. Then Amarynth sighed, then said, "Fine, dump him here." Equinox left, and Amarynth asked, "Why are you here?"
"I wanted to go the interrogation room."
"So Equinox brought you here so we could keep an eye on you. Ah...." She went back to her book, ignoring me. I sighed, then closed my eyes, readying myself for sleep."
[Raechal]
Another shock, and I screamed into the darkness. "TELL ME WHERE YOUR MASTER IS." A voice boomed from a loudspeaker. It was around 12 - 5 am, I guess, cause Master wasn't controlling me. "You have almost killed your brother. What do you have to say for yourself?" No..... I killed him? No... I shake my head in disbelief. It wasn't me who almost killed Top. It was the master. I shook my head once more, then another shock came. This time, I didn't scream.
Well, I'e read through the recent posts, and after much deliberation (the reason why I did not post the moment I got back) I decided to just drop out of the RP. Because of how far everyone's already gotten, me trying to squeeze myself into the story would be more of a burden and might just confuse readers (due to being intrusive on the story posts of everyone else).
It also wouldn't be fun for me to write since I would be restricted to events that have already happened. It would turn into more work rather than play, which is why I usually participate in RP's :/. Although, you may still continue using Auger for as long as you think he will still be useful.
So, I guess this is goodbye for me. But I hope this RP turns out alright and reaches its end, like Return to Cradle :)
You could just write as is in the current storyline, not posting things that happened earlier.
While I could do that, my character's IC would turn out much "less" as compared to other characters'. Since I wont provide Auger's thoughts, feelings, or inner battles during the events. But like I said, my problem with that is, I have to write with pre-made decisions, which just isn't fun :/.
Therefore, it would be easier for everyone to just demote Auger to NPC status.
By the way, this thread has been quiet lately, compared to the "Return To Cradle: Rebooted" one that is
Then perhaps you could create a new character and start from where the rest of us left off? There's still plenty of story to explore. If you've seen the Lord of the Rings, consider this part of the story like the journey to Rivendell - it's a turning point in the story, but it's only at the beginning.
And frankly, now is a great place to introduce a new character. New people don't just randomly pop up in the middle of a desert or the Clockworks nearly as often as they do in the middle of a bustling city.
I feel so. . . lost? I've decided that Alice was executed while she was still asleep/poisoned by the theorist, who was dragged into the prisons as well.
That is, unless anyone has plans to do something with Alice.
Also, has the story thread been moved Again?
The story thread is useless, since nobody bothers to transfer their proposals to it.
Regarding Alice...I don't know what to do about her. She is your character. What was last happening to her?
Alice was in an arena about to fight another channeler, but then some theorist made them fall asleep using poisoned darts. Considering that it's poison, I could decide whether it was lethal or not, and whether Alice died or not in an instant.
I vote that Raechal didn't meet them yet.
