I materialize out of the blade, my hand gripping the sword as I stare at her haughtily. "I don't intend to attack you. You took my meaning quite wrongly." I point over to the blood runes. "UFSC is Hell. I am here merely to escort you. My master Vog is interested in you. Once he gets his body back-" Just then I feel a thorn try to enter my neck. It bounces off harmlessly, and I turn to see a strange peach-tone skin creature, wearing a Stranger cloak and holding a Twisted Snarble Barb. I hiss at him. "WHHHHYYYYY ISSSS HHHHEEEE HEEEEERRRRRE?!" I roar, and run at him, both hands on my Sealed Sword

When I saw the creature, I had to attack. I've never seen a demon of this calibur before. He runs at me, and jumps into the air to bring the Sword down on my head.

Not today.

I jump out of the way, and put the mask on my face as I turn into SNARBOLAX FORM. I burrow into the ground and then jump up behind it, sending a spray of thorns at it. They bounce off harmlessly. I send it flying with a fling of my long tail, ((for Ultimaknightz, Seatus is a Snarbolax with a humanoid figure. To make up for the lost volume on his tail, it's longer than most others.))but it just spreads wings and soars at me, and I am forced to jump out of the way. It swings it's Sealed Sword tornado-like, and I block each swing with my Barb. Finally, after getting the energy, I release thorns from my body, spearing it to the ground. I change back to my human form and remove my mask, bending down to look at it. I barely touch it's forehead and the back of it's head makes a crater in the ground and it goes unconcious. I pull off a peice of it's skin and look to Gwen. "Got any glass containers?"

I grin at her, "I was only playing." I glare at the spirit. "Anyways, what is HE doing here. He shouldn't be here. Ever." Something in my voice made Gwen know I didn't mean 'here' in the traditional sense. "I need the sample because this is a rare form of the Swarm which takes over strong evil souls. This obviously used to be a man, but he let the Swarm in." I rip the Sealed Sword from his hand and let him be pulled back into it. I toss it to Gwen. "You're going to have to keep it under control. If I'm left with it too long I'll end up killing our only guide into UFSC." I pull the blade near my mouth and whisper.

You should have never returned, Shinigami.

If The Pack has a chance it will interrogate Nate and Arch. Nate because he has supernatural abilities, same with Arch.

@Liminori: we left off with the Finder instructing Equinox to meet her in the Dead Forest, but Seatus never replied. It's an important moment in the story, and I can't move on without it.

I probably should have said something, but I agree that Nathaniel probably should not have been beaten so easily, judging from Ultima's prior descriptions of him.

Unless, of course, Hotaru is considerably stronger.

I recently had an idea: do you suppose Gwen could recover Hotaru somehow from his darkened state? It would certainly be in-character for her.

Just then, a runed Sealed Sword materialized next to Gwen. "I will be your escort to the hell that awaits."the Sealed Sword spoke. "But wait. Sealed Swords can't speak, right? Or am I the only one who can hear it speak?"I pondered. "It's a Shinigami....."the light spoke in my head. "No, *I* will be your escort to the hell that awaits you. Do not think that I am easily intimidated because I am a mere Isoran. I am one of the Chosen; I do not fear you. Hell cannot contain the souls purged by the Great Spirit."Gwen spoke. She didn't move her lips either. Gwen took the sword, spun it, and put it in her arsenal. "You are mine now, Shinigami. You will obey me when I demand it."

"Hey Gwen, what is that?" asked Archemiday. Gwen lit her pipe and looked at him. "It's a shadow Sealed Sword. Apparently, it was sent by Vog to assist me." She puffed out a smoke ring. Also, we'll need to dispose of that Shinigami. The light in me is telling me to kill it, for it is a trap. Hand me the Sealed Sword, will you?" Gwen laughed for a moment before speaking. "You might be of the Purged, yes, but really? I know the Purged don't have these abilities. So what are you?" "I'm of a different light. The pure one. I was born with Holy Light in me, along with Chaos. Those of the Purged have IMPURE light in them, which is easy to give out. That's why those who have impure light in them can easily convert those who have impure darkness in them to impure light. However, obtaining Holy Light and Chaos is a whole different story. They're the epitomes of their sides. However, those of the Purged cannot gain Holy Light, and those of impure darkness cannot gain Chaos. It's quite hard to explain. Holy Light and Chaos both have their own special abilities. The Purged can only convert. Does this make things clearer? 'Cause I don't feel like explaining this again. So could you hand me that Sealed Sword?"I droned on.

The Purged are always possessed by the Great Spirit, so they are theoretically capable of much more than conversion. In practice, the only other power the Spirit ever allows the Purged to use is Unyielding Protection, which, as the name implies, grants them varying levels of protection from physical harm.

Historically, the Purged have been seen using teleportation, total regeneration, elemental control, prophecy, and even zero-genesis on rare occasion. But the Great Spirit rarely allows these abilities to be used.

Arbiters, however, are a very different story. Arbiters are Chosen humans who have been uniquely selected to judge the inhabitants of their respective ages. They are granted unlimited use of a select range of powers granted by the Great Spirit. Nathaniel is one such Arbiter, and the abilities granted to him are Teleportation, Uncommon Battle Prowess, and the use of Dark Powers (e.g. Curse).

One more thing: the Purged derive their light from the Great Spirit, whose light is 100% pure. Permission, not purity, is the governing factor of a Chosen One's abilities.

However, Nathaniel's powers were given to him by the last Chaos and Holy Light angels. The Great Sprit found them too powerful to exist, and so killed them off after Nathaniel was born. Nonetheless, since Nathaniel did not know how to use his powers, the Great Spirit put a restriction over his powers, so he would not develop a deep affection for his powers and think of the humans as a lesser species. Nathaniel grew up in the most noble of families, and received a good education. He was not told that he had unusual abilities, but the only special 'ability' he knew he had was that he was ambidextrous. After he finished his education, he was sent to the Rose as a candidate for being the commander of the White Rose. He accepted the honor, but soon enough, the Rose was sent to a mission where he wished that he could've protected his friends that he made at the Rose. He awakened some of the powers inside him, and soon enough, the Fangs of Vog heard of it. Nathaniel spied on them, and found out that they were planning to revive Vog. He went to Basil's Cafe and well.... you know the rest.

He still has not unsealed the seal, meaning that his powers are not yet fully awakened. He will soon break the seal. The Great Sprit chose Nathaniel as an Arbiter, but instead of giving him less powerful powers(the ones he would give), he put a restriction on his powers. Here's a twist in the story that I might want to add. After he defeats Vog when he fully awakens his powers, he starts to think of humans/isorans as a lesser species and starts torturing one of his comrades, until one of his other comrades tries to calm him down. Nathan falls unconscious. When he wakes up again, he still thinks of humans/isorans as a lesser species and leaves. Forever.

OR

When he defeats Vog when he fully awakens his powers, he remains the same, and the group celebrates.

Yeah. That's all I've got right now.

The Stranger, rather, the Snarbolax Son, whose name I learn is Seatus, and I sit in the garden, patiently waiting for the silver-haired girl, who was apparently named Gwenvyier, and the other angelic looking Knight, who was named Archemiday. There was another guy, but I can't seem to remember his name at the moment.
Shortly after they leave for the Lockdown match, I feel a tap on my shoulder. I spin around quickly, startled, but it's just Shion. She smiles as she hands me a piece of paper.
"Hey, how's it been? I thought that I would sort of join you in a group, considering that It's easy to worry about someone you just met", it reads. Almost overjoyed by this, I hug her tightly, surprising her a little. I take out my notepad and quickly write out a response.
"I'm happy you can join our group, the rest should be here soon." She reads it and nods, also smiling.
Shortly after Shion's arrival, Gwen and Arch come back, as well as the other male Knight, who I learn is named Nathaniel. However, there's company. In her hand, Gwen held a Sealed Sword, but with a very odd appearance. I can... sense something inside it. It turns out I was right.
A spirit, composed of darkness with only magenta eyes and horns, comes out of the blade, taking it. He mutters a few things to Gwen, when without warning, Seatus lobs a thorn at his head. It bounces off harmly, but the spirit turns around, enraged. He runs towards Seatus, raising the sword above his head.
Suddenly, he transforms into a Snarbolax-looking creature. After a short battle, Seatus pins the spirit to the ground with his thorns. He reverts to his normal form, and creates a small crater around his head, knocking the spirit out.
"Can I get a glass container?", Seatus asked Gwen, who gave one to him. He cut off a piece of the spirit's skin, putting it in the bottle.
"You could have asked me to make him stop, you know. I had him under my thumb", she muttered, looking at the jar.

The pain intensified, and reached a point where I had to hold my head. I became a little unsteady. Shion gave me a worried look, but I waved it away.
My burning headache reached a climax, and my markings started glowing a fiery orange. The pain released, but when I opened my eyes, I could only see from above. An out of body experience.
I circled around my body, but it was different. The markings were glowing orange instead of the usual magenta, and my eyes were also orange. Whoever was controlling my body spoke in a deep voice.
"I cannot allow you to destroy the spirit inside that sword." The rest of the group looked at my body, surprised.
"Purged one. Drop the sword", he said, pointing to Gwenyvier. "I'm not interested in burning down Haven today."
Small fires materialized around my body, floating in mid-air.
"I said drop the sword."

Light does only one thing: it purges darkness (corruption). It does not confer any special powers upon its source or recipient any more than real light does.

Since humans are always dark, they require possession by a light spirit in order to have any light.

To put it another way, light spirits give you your light. If the spirit's light is pure, then your light will be pure. If the spirit's light is "impure," then your light will be "impure."

Which leads me to the next case: there is no such thing as "impure" light. Light varies by intensity and quantity, not by purity. Hearts and souls vary by purity.

Magical powers and abilities come from the spirit possessing you, not from any light you generate or the absence thereof. Humans are incapable of magic on their own.

Valkyries and inhuman spirits are a different story. Both can perform magic on their own without being possessed, and Valkyries have the added bonus of being physical creatures (unlike spirits).

"So Nathaniel york?" The councilman said questioningly. "The Order of the Rose has gone senile, allowing such a young knight to lead them." I smiled that's all I needed to here. "We've wanted an agent in the order for a while, they're one of the only ones that still oppose our...plans." "Take him out, I don't even want a body found." I smiled with delight. "And the others that travel with him?" "Take care of them too, bring the winged one and if you can bring back the commander, we have tests to run on them." "You might not have failed us, but we've noticed your lack of power, take these as an...advance payment for your services." To my right a platform emerged, showcasing 4 types of...cores? "They're fusion drives, hook it up to your armor and energy reserves." I placed the drive on my right shoulder. It hummed to life with a malefic buzz. It turned a dark purple. Something else came flying my way. I caught it, some kind of upgraded flourish. "Use it in conjunction with the drive, the more damage you do, the more damage you deal." I threw the three other drives at Rez, Nex, and Hotaru. Weapons of similar design were given to them. I smiled, "Alright let's inform the rest, put out a bulletin, I want this broadcasted over every frequency from Haven to Emberlight!" "Nathaniel York, commander of the white rose is under "investigation" anyone that can caputre or provide info to his whereabouts will be rewarded." "And his companions are free game too." I smiled. Pack squad leaders radioed in from almost every depth, the search was on.

Proposal start!:
Night was starting to fall. "Hey guys, I'll be back". I said as I walked away from my party. I walked into a corner. I found it that when I was alone in the dark that I could think about things better. I started to count my days before I would need to drink, which was only 3 days.

Night was falling as I came up the elevator. As I walked off I saw a new post on a bulletin board. I snatched it off and read it. Kill these three next to a man and two women. And next to capture it showed a male with wings. There is a reward. Perfect! I can make some money. I stayed low as I searched. As I walked I saw the odd gremlin earlier with a group. I ignored him and walked on. I eventually found him alone. "Hello sir!". He said in a gentle tone. I didn't talk as I drew my blade and rushed at him. He tried to retreat but ended up tripping. I knocked him out, tied him up, and started to bring him to where the commissioner was.

Lemme explain the course of events, since your entry does not follow them.

Akairo went up to Haven, then was chased by the Police. The Police almost caught him when Seatus, and Gwen stopped them. Then Gwen and the rest of the group went to the Lockdown match (Seatus excluded), whereas Seatus and Akairo went over to a random garden. Shion went up to the surface and met Akairo. Enforcers came along again, but Seatus destroyed them, and Gwen came back with the unusual Sealed Sword, with Shinigami in it. Quick fight, then Shinigami was back in the sword. Nathaniel wanted to destroy it, but a Swarm-affiliated entity possessed Akairo trying to stop Nathaniel or anyone else from destroying the sword, and started a small fight. Seatus expelled the entity from Akairo's body, knocking him out, and Shion put him in her bag and somehow learned to talk again.

That's what's happened so far.

Just some advice, but read all entries that you may have missed before writing a new one :P

From the corner of her eyes, she could see a shifty character eying her sack. He must be after Akairo. . . That. . Scientist! (=Mao) "We need to get out of here soon!"
"Hold on. . .Hey, Arch? C'mon, we gotta go!" The silence was eerie, as everyone silently worried for Archemiday.
"Arch? Where are you, man?"

Part of the fun of roleplaying is not knowing how the other players will respond. Please do not propose anything Gwenyvier says; let me do that.

Also, I think Nathaniel's traveling powers seriously need to be nerfed. Teleportation anywhere in the Clockworks is bad enough in that it skips the exploration of the depths, but making portals so other players can follow?? We would be skipping a TON of valuable character development if they just took a portal to UFSC. I have several incidents planned for their expedition through the Wolver Den on their way to UFSC, for instance, that will be nullified if they teleport to UFSC.

Nathaniel's traveling powers should be limited to self-teleportation only. He cannot create portals elsewhere, or teleport other people around. It's just way too overpowered and story-breaking. Seatus had a roundabout way of saying the same thing by making it seem dangerous in-story.

Nathaniel piped up. "We don't need him. What's necessary is that we aim to stop Vog's resurrection. If any of you feel like disagreeing, please leave. We- I have no need for you. Wasting time on looking for him is just going to be better for the Fangs of Vog."

Gwen was stunned. How could you be so...so...conceited!? She crossed her arms and huffed. "You don't need us, huh? Why did you voluntarily waste your own time testing our strength before letting us come along if you never even needed us in the first place?" She scoffed, then added, "Fine. Go. If you're going to be so puffed-up proud of yourself, then we don't need you either. The last thing we want is a conceited jarhead coming with us into the nearest equivalent of Hell. But one way or another, we aren't going without Arch. You never, EVER, leave a teammate behind!"

She cleared her throat, wiped away the tears welling up in her eyes, and beckoned for the others to follow her and find Archemiday.
