Healing Weapons! (Sort of)

I'd like to know the viability of this and if it would be balanced or not.

We've seen a lot of weapons in the game which have a medical aspect to them, which are hardly ever used (Cautery Sword and Wrench Wand). What if the charge attack of both of these, instead of healing an ally, gave them 1 pip of your health?

I'm just wondering because people have been asking for healing weapons for a long time, and I'd like to know if they could be implemented into the game.

Instead of asking the forumers for the billionth time...

...go search through the forums for healing threads yourself. That should give you all the answers you need.

There have been good, bad, and ugly ideas.

I'm sorry if I didn't make this clearer. You actually take 1 pip of damage to give to the target. So it's more of a trade. To the best of my knowledge, there isn't a healing thread where you have to take damage in order for your ally to be healed, but if there is, I apologise.

There have been quite a few threads where this has been brought up:

It's not about balance. Nick himself said he didn't like healing weapons.

the reason OOO doesn't add

the reason OOO doesn't add healing is because it would be too OP, even if it did the smallest amount of healing possible, people would just stand there, healing themselfs before they go and activate more monsters

That's probably true. He does seem like the Rogue-like type.

You can revive a player by giving them half your health!

Can we do something like this while both knights are alive?

lol, no.

@Pipipipipi:
The thread is about health transfer, not self-healing.

eyes trying to see the end to another end

lose one health bar, transfering to other ally? still not works... just wait this guy die and you revive, giving half of your health

want somekind of worth increased healing effect or damage protection?

-> increase the amount of health restored when you get hearts
-> reduce the amount of health loss when you revive someone
-> create one shield on the target, limited on 1 target per party (limit shared between all party members), this one can reduce half of the damage received by direct damage, but this only applied after armor reduction

by that way, is impossible create any kind of "health generator", filling all the health of the party, but the 2 first effects should fit better on vitaplus suit wielder
wrench wand can get the last one

cautery... i have no idea what kind of effect can be... used on this weapon

My 2 cents.

Being able to give a bar of health to a player would be quite powerful actually. You can't die in one hit so transferring a bar of your health to him would allow him to survive an entire hit. I'd rather like this myself but it'd affect the game balance quite a bit. I'd absolutely adore it if it allowed ranged, AoE revival without giving them half my health. 2 bars each. Trying to stay alive with the current revival system and bad players is brutal.

I don't think direct healing

I don't think direct healing as a 'class' fits with SK, so I'm a little reluctant to make weapons that do just that. However, battle sprites will certainly allow you to fufill a more support-oriented playstyle, namely the seraphynx.

Using healing weapons is like an exploit to healing, letting you survive in the clockworks longer. Spiral Knights won't be much of a challenge if they had that. So yes, Nick says the answers again about no healing weapons :P

You have to be gremlin if you want to heal.

Healing weapons will cause a damage creep with mobs. You don't want monsters dealing more damage do you? Haha.
