I'm no one important. So feel free to ignore all this.
I returned after a long hiatus and wow, are there some new cool toys.
Dodging? Shieldbashing? AWESOME! Also some cool new gear and bosses and stuff. And PvP modes that I have no interest in but hey, cool beans, maybe I'll go at it when I feel like it and have better gear.
Played for a few days, got the hang of dodging, started to finish up missions (I already had t3 gear by the time missions hit, so it's just mop-up duty).
Then started looking around the forums.
Magnus still crap. Winmillion still stuck at 4*. Looking around in-game, still a wealth of "trap" options for upgrading weapons (armor too, but those can be used for cosmetics), especially at low level. Which is really cruel, when you think about it.
Is there even a point to the suggestions forums?
So I get you were making new stuff, but why does that mean old stuff isn't getting fixed? Why are missions still overshadowing the arcade so hard? That was the entire point in the game! Random levels and all that jazz because the whole planet is a clockwork.
So then I read about the new update about sprites and first I'm like "awesome! more battle options!", but then I'm like "wait, does that mean that everyone will have sprites?". It feels like you could have put these abilities on weapons/armor/shields easily. So why put it on sprites? Why force Knights into having pets when the game was essentially a zelda-like dungeon crawling thing? Maybe when they hit the game I'll change my mind but I'm vary.
The other updates however are looking interesting, to say the least. I like the sound of the alchemy thing, and revive changes to. Evens out the playing field.
Also, is there a community manager? I remember there being one a week or two after the game launched. Just going through the forums, answering questions, putting players at ease. It's not like anything actually got fixed by the looks of it, but there was at least someone out there who read it and had to/was paid to suffer through it instead of just plain ignoring it. That feels like players opinions being valued, which feels kinda good. Even if most players have no idea (me included).
So uh, this got way more [rusty] than I wanted. I think the game is great, I just get this weird feeling it's turning into something different than it was, and in a direction I don't like, and wanted to share my thoughts with anyone who1d care to read. Thanks.
I'm feeling the same way about the Sprites right now... they seem cool but everyone having an ingame battle pet seems kind of weird to me. Then again when they come out I could have a totally different opinion so I guess we'll see.
