My favorite character would either be Solomon or Affraiel.
Don't fret though, Leeroy's pretty awesome too ^_^
Skylark Down RP (discussion thread)(apps open)
Just finished reading the thread, its great.
my favorite is Dejah and Affraiel.
I kinda want to join...but I've only done one RP before, and i don't know if there's any room for more players
New forumers seem to be trickling in!
@Sulfr, I'm sure Thinslayer could find a spot for you if you asked, and if not, there are tons of other RPs currently running. And besides, it doesn't matter how many RPs you've done, just your willingness to be awesome.
Thanks.i was hoping,if i did an RP,i could join one of Thins.I like the way the players, and Thin write.
I'm actually an old forumer returning to the game, and forums
Really? Could Thin really find a place for a new character? :D
PLEASE?
I'm tempted to create a new RP just for you guys. I've been cooking up a new one for some time now anyway.
Sounds interesting thin, I'll try not to fall off the next one if you do. now that finals are over with, it should be easy to keep up with the story...I think
Sounds like alot of fun,any hints,or should we stop derailing the thread?
I am game. Anything to get us in the game again. If course Mondays I won't be able to post now, Entered the UGC Highlander with ma Team. We won our first match in the Iron Devision xD
Gonna app for de The Winter Kingdom? Pwease? 0-0
The number of stat points available is still putting me off, but since you asked, I'll consider making an app. :-)
@liminori
ugh, can I just post my original stand alone fan fic for you to read so you can stop bumping? Or you can do the same thing as me, branch out your own story.
Ironic Biscuit, Shut up. I bump old threads because I can't add anything as I am stuck in the stories.
I only bump the discussion threads because I can't continue the story, as other people are in charge. Either way, ---- YOU!
I bump the threads because I feel like nobody WANTS to continue the story, so I remind them it's here, As I feel like it's forgotten.
Also, I really REALLY don't care!
Can you go with one post without complaining about me trying to make the relevancy of the old threads more important?
PROBABLY NOT!
Also, What the hell do you mean FORCING THREADS DOWN?
---- you, and all the things you deem worth anything.

@Midnight Dj
Branch out my story...
If only it were that easy. You see, Right now- I'm at a state of my empty soulless life where time means nothing, and to me- If time means nothing, I can't get things done. I've never really struggled to create a character or backstory for them. Where each story is stuck, I can't really add content that's WORTHWHILE. I used to pump out story like a machine, before summer break, Because I was on a TIME LIMIT.
But now, I have all the time to do nothing. And right now, that seriously pisses me off, because of this solitude that... that... I just lose ideas and thoughts JUST LIKE THAT.
So tell me. WHAT THE ---- AM I TO DO?!
I didn't know you were that hurt inside! But please, remove that language before you get banned from the forums, I'd hate losing someone so dedicated!
Sometimes, stuff gets old and no matter how awesome it was, it could and most likely will fall apart. Why don't you try making your own RP? As a GM, you could manipulate people who are absent, and you wouldn't have to worry about a thing!
Really, though, please calm down.
And it'll die just like the rest, from lack of ideas, and everything like above in my reply to Midnight.
JUST LIKE THE ONE I'VE ALREADY MADE!
AGH!
I remember this! Although I did get a little stuck because of lack of story progression.
Here lies Affraiel Greyionne (Affraiel: I ain't Penumbra's son!!!) (writer: but you totally are...) the renegade warden, the demon emerged from hell itself to claim the worthless souls of his foes. With two leviathan blades in his hand, he cleaved through the clockwork like a snarbolax on the hunt, a wild, white haired beast, Affraiel will forever be the most badass RP character I have ever made. *sniffs* He is too awesome to be real ;_;
Ranking of faveorite characters:
#1: Dagoon + Thrynn [RTC]
#2: Leeroy + Sherry (Perhaps I should make more duo characters)
#3: Renao [RTC2]
#4: Alice [Finders Keepers]
#5: I had some gremlin character who was mute half the story but I can't remember
@THIN @LIMINORI WE NEED YOU GUYS BACK AT OUTNUMBERED
I've been reluctant to say anything for fear of hurting your feelings, but it occurred to me that my silence would probably hurt you more in the long run. So here goes.
Affraiel is a poor fit for forum gaming in his current state. He and the other characters that go with him (Saboteur, Mezzias) seem to be wrapped up in their own little world, and when I'm reading your story posts, half the time I'm wondering, "Why are you even here?" Your posts with these characters seem to consist mostly of self-contained mini-fanfictions and flashbacks, with few useful hooks for responding players to latch onto.
The inclusion of Mezzias, I think, is the core problem here. Having her around gives you a great deal of independence from other players. In a forum game, that's not a good thing. If you don't need other players around for interaction, then interacting with them is pointless, sapping all the fun out of it. I experienced that firsthand when I tried to have Evaria talk with Affraiel; having just the two of them alone would have had an atmosphere where they could say things in private that they couldn't let other characters hear. That would have been an amazing conversation, but it was utterly ruined by Mezzias' presence. With her around, I felt like Evaria didn't even need to be there.
So I suggest you ditch Mezzias for starters and see where that takes you.
Finally, I think you're missing the most important factor - making & keeping the readers interested in your characters. I'll be frank with you: I don't care about your characters. At all. Reading the conversations between Mezzias and Affraiel is a chore, and I always try to skip over them when I can afford to. If I liked your characters, then reading those conversations wouldn't be so bad. I mean, many players have their characters interact with NPCs of their own creation all the time. There's nothing inherently wrong with that.
The difference is that most NPCs serve a well-defined purpose in the story.
Mezzias doesn't. She's irrelevant to the story. All she does is tie up Affraiel's conversations and keep him wrapped up in his own little world. Make me care about Affraiel and Mezzias, and then maybe I'll read those conversations more in-depth.
Ugh, I think you are confused, Mezizas is with Saboteur in their independent universe in enemy mine RP. Affraiel is with Nezula, who relays important intels for him all in the while acting as way to communicate with the out side world while Affraiel is confined inside his clumsy armour, I thought the two of them were great if not the greatest. And besides, Affraiel talks a lot, so I don't expect you or anyone in this RP to provide him with all the reply and information he needed. I am not the greatest writer of them all, so for every character I made, they need someone or something to interact with in the world in order to flesh them out, I can't always rely on you and the more talented RPers to pave the story for me, you know that leads to absolutelyno where.
And as for the Mezizas vs. Saboteur story, that is another affair, Mezizas is what I would liked to call, a buffer, you see, sometimes in a RP when someone is trying to meta game, I need to buff up Saboteur in order to keep up. Like the time when unit 1 (Gwen) turns out to be the core spirit, Saboteur becomes an obsidian berzerker as a response, of course, I won't go off ultimaknightz style and turn Saboteur into a SSJ4 and pummel Gwen into dust. That would be silly, I get what you mean, and I do learn my lessons, I already toned down mezizas's role during immortal RP where Saboteur interacts with the team more and since the RP was pretty active back then, it worked. Sadly you abandoned it.
The reason why I stopped in enemy mine RP is because, well, no offence to you Thin, but to me, your story too is uninteresting. I almost face palmed when I realize that the enemy mine RP is going to be turned into another 'Gwen hunt' like RTC 2 (if it is not, fine, but I think the story has gone too far for me to ever catch up), I almost wished that you would actually let us go back to cradle only to realize that Isora are now Morai controlled, and Saboteur would finally piece together his past, he must now face the fact that he was a Morai, an explosive inclined one at that. He could make for some good story when he was forced to the breaking point with both spiral knights and morais pointing their guns at his throat, telling him to pick a side.
And last but not least, I don't like Gwen, I really, really don't like her, she is like a dead fish most of the time and I think I would just go into a down ward spiral every time I tried to get all up in her shenanigans, it was fun the first time Thin... but do you really have to use her (or someone similar to her) in every single RP you played???
And as for caring Affraiel, remember this, Thin, Affraiel was never meant to be a relatable character, he was meant to be an over the top guy who does things that will make you and your RP character drop their jaws in dismay, he was meant to talk smack and talk trash in the least appropriate moments and spice up the RP. I will consider remove Nezula, or make it turns out that Nezula is just an AI built into the afffaiel's suit.
Maybe I should just keep writing my own stand alone fan-fic -.-, my characters are really not the most RP friendly...
I have told you time and time again that the Core spirit is NOT Gwen. She is not in Enemy Mine at all. Like you, I'm growing tired of her. I don't lie to cover up story secrets. It's cool that you're trying to guess the identity of mysterious characters, but I don't appreciate you challenging my integrity in the process. I think your determination to prove that the Core is Gwen has blinded you to the real focus and fun of the story. Vaelyn, not Gwen, is the central character here, and the players' goal is to somehow defeat the Core without their equipment, not to discover its identity. Figuring out how to defeat the nearest equivalent of a god is what drives the greater plot. Having Gwen be the Core would totally deconstruct the plot and rip all the fun out of the game.
When I speak of "caring" for Affraiel, Saboteur, Mezzias, and Nezula, I don't mean it as in "aw, you poor thing, let me help you." I mean it more in a sense of being interested. Your fanfictions won't work unless you can get the readers to be interested in your characters. I think they could be really awesome characters if they're well written; I must admit that your art of Saboteur made him look pretty cool. I'd like to become interested in the character.
So for the time being, perhaps restrict your focus to just one character at a time in any given RP, and develop him from scratch in each game until we're sufficiently familiarized with him.
Looking at it again, Skylark Down is a surprisingly good read. It seems the 'RP Thread/Discussion Thread' format has its uses after all. ^_^
