You know what, I've been really short on time and at the moment, Rhendon isn't really in the story so I'll wait for a different character.
Skylark Down RP (discussion thread)(apps open)
I can't help you if you're short on time.
None of the characters were in the story until a player took control of them and changed that. Rhendon's importance to the story is entirely dependent on you. Absent your direction, he will remain an ordinary NPC.
Well, Remember. Even a weak Warden is stronger then a Team of Knights. They are preased for being such powerful combattens. It is only surprising when they fall. New or old the Warden's tend to live up to this expitation of their's, kinda hard to escape the training they go threw.
Got it, I will try to post some once I'm free :3 Should be at least Tuesday or earlier.
Actually, I'm not so sure about that. If they're stronger than a team of knights, I'd see no reason why the Spiral Order doesn't just make everyone wardens.
I actually think that Spiral Wardens fall faster in combat than other knights because the nature of their role demands it. The strength of their gear or the depth of their skills won't make up for having to throw themselves in harm's way to defend their fellow knights.
Thanks for the feedback!
I seerusly need to start giving feedback of my own.
How I see it is this:
They put themselves out there to protect others, but are trained harder because of the fact they will be on the front. Think about it like...I want to say the SEAL's for the US. There are few of them, around 18 Teams each of which compose of anywhere from 5-4 men to a team. Maybe more. But there are few of them however they are trained for combat all their Military life. Warden's on the other hand are built for protection thus they are bulky which makes them slow, but should some one find themselves on the wrong end of their attack stand by.
Now I am not saying they are by far the strongest of the Classes to the SK world but they stand out as one of the specialized operational forces with in the SK Military.
There are fewer of them because they have much harsher training.
......
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH The impatience is driving me crazy! NO PROGRESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS *Smashes head against keyboard*
However, I am neither a grasshopper nor as patient as I would hope to be. *Sits on a small pillow Japanese style*
Okay, are we at the point where the knights go through the Chasm? Should Affraiel stalk the team or scout ahead and remove the frontal threats?
He should do the latter. If he hasn't already been acquainted with the team, he should take care of that now.
Okay, I have changed Ozlo into Serris, sry didn't see that post of urs earlier, but it is fixed now. BTW, do I have control Serris, or is he another playable character for someone else?
You have no control over Serris. Your use of the character was strictly limited to Affraiel's lore.
I suppose I could handle Ozlo, or NPC's that you don't have time for. That is unless you have an idea for their story.
Tell you what, I'll trust you with more control over the story's direction. Let me PM you the backgrounds of the four Spiral leaders, and you can decide on things from there.
If you want to direct it feel free. I was just offer to help take the load off.
No, I want you to take a load off. I don't want to direct it all by myself.
The descriptions of the remaining two Spiral Officers has been sent off.
Name who is off course, or am I too assume it is the two you aimed at me. I can do my best for right now bit it might take a little alteration to how they normally act or sound. I will do my best for Olzo since he is never seen and we only have a small profile to go off of. Outside of that give me the names and I will do my best based on the information I have.
The four have already been PM'd to you.
*Ozlo
*Feron
*Barrus
*Vaelyn
I'll handle Feron for the most part.
That's a mighty fine post you wrote there. You mirrored the dreary atmosphere perfectly, and I particularly like how you emphasized the youth of the knights. It just made the whole thing look that much more tragic, as it should be.
Ugh, sorry to say, but I don't really feel this as my kind of roleplay, I'm having to hard of a time following along and keep getting distracted when I feel ready to post, and I doubt that will get any better. If anyone fells up to it, they could take Gojira's spot or replace him. I'm sorry about this, but at least I haven't done anything lasting to it yet...
It's okay. I'll take Gojira from here.
Mawa might be onto something with her RP system. It just needs a little tweaking...
I didn't really think of Rhendon as much of a Sour-ass.
But hey, At least it's character development.
Inactivity Alert: Art commission for Thinslayer.
Sketch's done. Feedback?
ALright I have a undertanding of what I need to do. But until the role is requested/needed I will remain silent till then.
That's a good first post! Most notably, one particular well-written phrases caught my eye:
-"He continued forward, picking his way through piles of junk." Concise and picturesque. I couldn't have said it better. Really.
The rest was so-so. It got the picture across effectively, but I thought there was too much of "[do]ing, he did [something]." For example, "Picking it up, he found a target." And shortly afterwards, "Hurling the scrap metal, he ran forward." If you're trying to convey action, the "-ing" ending slows everything down and counteracts that. Give the verbs more action; for example, you could instead say "He picked it up and found a target," or "He hurled the scrap metal and ran." Even better, "He picked up a piece of scrap metal, hurled it at a bot and ran."
I also have some character feedback. Rhendon implied that he visited the Chasm Pass so many times that he's sick of it. He ought to know by now what to call that "big [thing] that looked like wood" (Lumber). I also doubt he'd be running around grinning and shouting in a place he despises.
Don't be discouraged if you got more "criticism" feedback than "praise" feedback - it was a good first post. No edits required; just keep the above tips in mind. ;-)
What's the holdup, guys? Need some story hooks or something?
Sorry thin, Affraiel's fight with Elzilia is still in production, and I am also trying to make the fanart for you, so yeah...
You know, this is the third time where someone else has said almost the same thing I was going to...
Which is, I'm kinda working on your picture that you asked for, and thanks for the feedback, I'll keep it in mind.
Okay, just finished the boss battle with Elzilia the purple talon, ended in a humiliating defeat. Affraiel is currently lying on the valley of the chasm as few clicks ahead of Rehdon, Solomon and Leeroy. Waiting for rescue, you guys may have to drag Affraiel's body back to haven for repair.
@everyone: Just to give you a heads-up, mecha knights aren't easy to kill. They get even tougher when they acquire shields (T2) and bombs (T3).
@Squad players:Don't ignore Affraiel. ;)
Solomon is perceptive yeah.
But the pressing danger of constructs to his squad takes priority.
He'll probably eye him quickly when the danger is gone.
Its a robot, they can learn attacks and what not, at least its in their programming.
Shall I or Darkwatck handle the mecha knights, or shall I leave them to the players?
I wanted to have Solomon & The Lumber have a 1-on-1 in a big post.
So could I control that?
Im not fussed who controls the mechs, so long as they dont make them too OP this early in.
You certainly may control the Lumber.
The Mecha Knights shouldn't be a problem for Solomon, since even a noob like Evaria could handle three of them all by herself. Just make sure to dispatch them quickly before they learn anything.
Also, Feron's squad list has been updated on post #51.
The Mecha Knights will be distracted by what ever is the biggest threat to them. So, the moment the Blitz needles hit them they won't care that much about Solomon attacking the Lumber thing. That being stated I am more then sure that the Tree Man, as so elegantly put, can handle some [scrap], but a T1 Lumber would not be very strong and is more like chopping fire wood for a Vanguard. I say let him have control of the Lumber for now, post pending how well he makes the scene: Remember, this RP is suppose to be more based around PC interaction then fighting so make it quick and epic. But that's only if you were asking me.
It would be more accurate to say that this RP is supposed to be based more on PC development than on fighting alone, because the fights can also contribute to PC development. We will be spending lots of time on the battles that are important to the story.
The encounters down here only exist because they would logically have occurred, not because they are important, so they must be completed quickly.
Not quite. The fight sequences should start to be more common and lengthy as the story goes on because of their importance to character development. I'll mail you a few summaries of those fights.
You've already been mailed the major plot points for the near future. You might want to have a look. ;)
Thank you for the character Refrence sheet's this will help me later on when the parts spoken of come up. SO as it stands we both are taking care of them or am I going to be working out the people on the list?
I got caught up in a huge busy streak, was gonna post something on Dejah seeing the rescue camp, but whatever. /e sighs deeply.
Hopefully I can get some more posts in. Also, @Thinslayer, I'm glad I gave you the idea for feedback; beneficial to everyone :)
@Darkwatck: We can both handle the four Spiral leaders as necessary, but I would prefer to handle Feron and Vaelyn for the most part.
@Hexlash: :-)
I... Seeing as Leeroy has fought Morai before (Maybe? The app's confusing me.), I think that he would have learned certain skills like that.
Also, I blame Sherry fully for the Turtlebombs.
She did that to Everyone's bombs/grenades (If there is an equivalent to grenades), So that low ranking Morai/Knights(?) would be confused when they saw the turtle, and pass it off as a decoy.
She did this without permission. Eventually, She will have to explain.
Edit: Uh... Hello?
:3 Turtlebombs now available.
Dont change the turtle bombs.
They provide light humour in a depressing story.
...Thats an Order :3
Enjoy your turtlebombs. The flat bottom is meant for chucking them across the floor, Or placing them.
I won't be able to Roleplay... I'm far too busy now. Anybody wanna take over Diablo for me?
El capitano! the the brave acting mightier-than-thou coward is an old favorite called El capitano. Google it :3
